As far as rolls go, am I good to roleplay Luciel as the speaker and aided by Aeleth, or alternatively have them both speak (with Luciel dominant) but roll Aeleth's diplomacy only?
For RP-purposes, would it be out of place for Exiel (my 13th level PFS character - the guy who took Aeleth away at the start of the previous game) to also be on the ship and give Luciel to Aeleth there? Alternatively, could you set the next scene at the docks so I can have Exiel give Luciel to Aeleth there?

Ok, it's sounding like we technically can bring Max, but we'll be taking social-check penalties. We've been reminded that this is primarily going to be a social-encounter game.
My take is that if it is just Cody's social rolls that would be affected, I'd leave it entirely up to him. But if it is going to affect all our rolls, I'd ask Cody to consider leaving Max behind.
As for Aeleth, I'm nutting out with the GM the details of how his social interactions will work.
Aeleth will leave his armor behind (it's not masterwork, so it might not be fancy enough), and will purchase a courtier's outfit.

![]() |

Yeah, if this is primarily a social scenario we may not need the extra firepower...if Max will hurt us, maybe we could just figure out a way to keep him close by in case of emergency.
Also, are we good going forward with our current players? I had a couple more express interest. I know Elvik is always on that line of whether he's still here or not, but he has checked into this thread.
I'm thinking maybe just close recruitment for now and if we don't get Yndra back in 6 weeks, get one more?

1 person marked this as a favorite. |

We can continue with 4 then and add Elvik if he joins in.
As for Max/social rolls - it'll depend on how you guys will deal with the special mechanics of this particular module (so it ultimately depends on your choices during the module).

I'll try to keep Brother Max from interfering in the diplomacy, perhaps I can leave he with gear meditating and a stack of bananas during the hobnobbing deck party.
Are there cabins for the guest?

Badslacker |

There a few rooms reserved for the captain and some of the most important nobles, but most guests are expected to socialize on the boat ride - which takes about half a day.

Hey guys. So, a lot of you have probably noticed my absence in my games for the last month or so. I wanted to go ahead and apologize to all of my players that I was GM'ing for and all of my GM's that I just disappeared on.
My diabetes took a really vicious turn a while back, and I ended up in a really, really bad case of diabetic ketoacidosis, and have been in the hospital ICU for pretty much the majority of my absence. I was unconscious/in a fugue state pretty much the entire time. I've sent messages to all my games that are still active to let them know that I didn't intentionally abandon them or take off with no warning. I was fine in the morning and then that evening I was being carried out of my bathroom on a stretcher and put into an ambulance. I'm going to try to slowly get back into PFS, I have a lot to do, such as find a new job and place to live, but hopefully I can get back into GM'ing multiple games and having fun with everyone.
Again, I sincerely apologize for everything. I hate being that guy who just disappears when involved in a group project.
All that being said, if you still want to adventure with everyone's favorite pyromaniac-probably legitimately insane-gnome-half dragon, I'm more than ready to jump back in.

I'll check tonight whether or not Serak was included in the reporting for the last game.
I'm all for having Serak back since we still have a spot for him and he dropped for reasons legitimately beyond his control. What do the rest of you think?

![]() |

I doubt we will have any objections to you coming back (especially given your health issues!), and don't think we're far enough along that you couldn't have stowed away on the ship.
I'll defer to the DM, but I'd suggest if he says it's okay that you jump right in.

Badslacker |

Sure Serak - welcome back and I'm glad you feel better!

Ok, I hope that was enough to go some way to get Alexander on-side. I'm eager to work on Tancred Desimire, since I don't know how many more opportunities we have.
Stephani, you seem to have made an impression on this guy the previous day. Would you like to follow up on him as well? If Lucien sees that you are having success with him, I might stick with Alexander.
Also, it's a little meta-gamey, but I need to remind you guys that seriously failing a diplomacy check can very counter-productive. If you have a low modifier, it would be a better idea to aid rather than attempt a check on your own. The DC is lower and more importantly you do not worsen the situation if you fail.
I'll see what Stephani does and how she goes before deciding what to do.

As soon as Fiddlersgreen shoots me a chronicle sheet for the midnight mauler, I'll get my purchases done and be ready to roll. For now, I'm just trying to figure out an entrance for Serak.

He missed the first two boats and had to hitch a ride with a fishing boat that agreed to swing by the island and drop him off. He just arrived.

![]() |

Psst. Dusklord, I think we already salvaged the wedding. We're in an 'influence' round now.
Serak, I've sent you a link to your chronicle.

FYI, I am going on a road trip with my family for Fall Break (Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Devil's Tower, Badlands, etc. in South Dakota).
Though I may end up posting, I am likely to be extremely limited through next Tuesday. Please feel free to bot me!

Badslacker |

Hope you enjoy that Dusklord - I've been there over the summer, was great!
@Cody - there was a list as a Google Doc somewhere...

This goes to all my games (GMing or playing):
Thank you very much for your patience! Several weeks ago my partner decided to continue his life without me. For me it was a surprise, after 16 years of relationship. While I was busy looking for a new place to live the workload at work got more and more (the bank is changing the treasury apps completely, moving to a new vendor) and my mother opens her own shop on Monday and wanted me to help with ordering stuff, making a website, creating advertising, business cards, preparing the shop etc.
As you can imagin I'm tired, done and completely frustrated. I've not been in the mood to open the Paizo page and reading messages of upset GMs/players "shouting" at me or demanding immediate upates so I did not open this page for a long time now.
I'm really sorry that I put you into this situation, but to make sure: it does not have anything to do with you or your gaming style. It was just that a lot of things hit me at the same time. I'm currently working through the games to update everything.

Just a quick heads up. My posting may be scarce over the next few days. I'm moving into a new place (hopefully, fingers crossed) tomorrow, I just got made a Venture Agent in an area where my Venture Captain is two hours away and my closest Venture Lieutenant is forty five minutes away, and also trying to kick this cold that decided to come out of nowhere. I'll still be checking the boards close to twice a day if possible, though. I just wanted to let you guys know not to worry if I miss a post for a day or two.
Also it doesn't look like I posted my info, so here is my stuff for reporting. (I swear I posted it before though)
Player: Steven Stewart
Character: Serak Hamistagon
PFS#: 174394-9
Faction: Liberty's Edge
Day Job: None

Of the two people that expressed interest, 1 of them has already played Icebound Outpost. Would we sub in a different scenario? Aeleth, could we get you to hang around for another scenario with a different scenario?

![]() |

Hey guys! Nice to be here. I'm the one who already played Icebound Outpost :( I will have my sheet and details updated here soon (you can see my sessions on the profile already though)

![]() |

I feel like with Aeleth leaving we'll start to get normal people in here. *shudder* But seriously, could you imagine how this would look if it were real? How uncomfortable would the "normal" guys be? I think it would make a great movie, kind of like the Mystery Men.
Look at our group:
Serak: Mentally Unstable. Probably actually CE. Has attempted to set buildings (and people) on fire just because he's bored. Has drawn lewd pictures on walls in dungeons when no one was looking.
Dusklord: "Reformed" necromancer who really wants to experiment on party members. Will more than likely reanimate one of us if we die, but as a zombie or something. I'm not entirely convinced he doesn't still have world dominion plans.
Stephanie: A paladin who actually believes that the skull of her father (which she carries in a sack) talks to her. Tries to reign in Serak. (He sticks his tongue out at her and makes faces when she isn't looking.)
Aeleth: If someone took Chuck Norris and replaced his brain with a potato, you have Aeleth.
Then you have Cody, normal for an adventurer. Poor Cody.

![]() |

Well, we've done several scenarios involving the Blakros family. Why don't we replace it with another one?

![]() |

I updated Lyrio's profile with his sheet. It seems my last GM didn't publish my chronicle sheet, so I'm still level 3. In a way, it's good, because we get to stay closer as a party (in level I mean). :)

I get everything updated Tuesday when I get home from Minnesota I am excited to play by post I'm sure there's a small learning curve thanks again for letting me join
