Realizing her club is mostly useless against this unnatural horror, Tereze steps down from the pedestal and as the thing attempts to hit her with the longsword, she parries the sword with her club. She carefully forces the slash high and wide of her shoulder. For a moment she holds the sword there exposing the right side of the Legionnaire before it is able to recover to it's guard position.
Aid Another: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
As she struggles up close with this thing, she racks her brain for any stories the clan used to tell with monsters that matches the description of this thing.
Knowledge:Religion: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24
Wow, the dice are really with me this combat. If she recalls anything about this creature (particular any resistances or weaknesses) she will call it out as best she can in the middle of combat.

ZZZzzzZZZzzzZZZzzz
This really sucks! I hope to be back soon again :P I should've bought the CLW wand!!!

![]() |

Thanks for moving Gwen, Steph. I was thinking that Vicard was unconscious for some reason.
Gwen grins as the Seer collapses to the ground. She turns just in time to see Tereze hit the remaining undead hard with her weapon, but Gwen notices it has little effect. She slips in behind the Legionnaire and delivers a solid kick to its hips in hopes of throwing it off balance in the heavy armor!
Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 2 = 22
Unarmed Strike: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Free - 5' Step into current position. Standard - Attack; which gains +2 Flanking and I'm not sure if Tereze's Aid Another succeeds or not, so I won't add in that bonus for now.

![]() |

@Urbar the freaking monster is literally standing on you, if he wasn't I would have healed you by now. And I'm afaraid to move away as it might Coupe De Grace Vicard. Sorry Dead sucks more then down for a few rounds.
@Gwen Aid Another is a flat AC 10 hit, so you should get the bonus. Not that I think you need it.

![]() |

Yeah... Hope it will be over soon! Best that can happen :)

![]() |

Yeah, for some reason I was thinking you still had to hit the AC of your target to Aid Another... Which is ridonkulous. I blame it on the fact that I had yet to finish drinking my coffee... And Urbar, there is nothing worse than being healed from the brink of death only to be attacked while prone and put back into the negatives lol! That's how I lost my very first PFS character...

StephNyan |

Eryzule lazily aims his crossbow somewhere in the last undead's direction and nearly shoots one of his allies in the back.
Tereze steps down the pedestal and parries the Legionnaire's sword. She holds the sword down with her club, creating an opening for Gwendallyn. When she takes a good look at her opponent Tereze suddenly realizes something: it's just a zombie. Albeit one that looks a bit more durable, has fancy bronze armor, and holds a longsword.
Gwendallyn makes use of the opening provided by Tereze and delivers a solid kick against the Legionnaire's hips, but her kick does less damage than it would've done to a human.

hmmm. A zombie with CR 5/Bludgeoning that's interesting... Looks like I try piercing next

![]() |

Oh that's right, I had it flipped backwards in my head. No matter aid another works just fine with my club... Which is what she will do rather then draw her dagger. Helping out just feels more in character.

Fiona uses her healing Hex to touch and damage the remaining undead
moving forward to strike the undead with her own magic, she misses, still try to come to terms with her inner self.

Longsword: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15

Just checking in... and I've missed my post by an hour and a half - sorry again for this inconvenience. Thanks for the roll(s) Eryzule.
Next round (5), or after battle:
Oblivious to the battle around her and encouraged by the damage she had inflicted on the undead, Fiona kneels next to the dying ranger as his blood keeps flowing out of his body. With an experienced movement she pulls out a small ointment jar, deftly opens it, and smears some of it on some of Urbar's exposed skin as she hums softly a tune unrelated to the surrounding battle.
Healing hex: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

![]() |

Tereze shouts: Gwen, it's a Zombie, try cutting it, not just punching it.
Aid Another + Flanking: 1d20 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 1 + 2 = 4
Tereze attempts to distract the Zombie for a second time, but the corpse's longsword swings right where her head was. In panic she throws her buckler up in the way of the longsword. While she does successfully block the strike, the jarring blow causes her to stumble back. Her balance gone, she has to disengage and does not get a chance to attack the unnatural creature again.

![]() |

Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 2 = 8
Fiona's sudden appearance on the battlefield, shocks Gwen enough that when she yanks her hand axe from her belt at Tereze's suggestion, that her attack cuts through nothing but empty air.

Feeling weak as a newborn puppy, Vicard simply runs away from the fight. He heads back towards the door, near Ery, his legs shaking and breath heaving.
Withdraw action to the door

![]() |

"Oh, hey Sleuth, I have a question... Undead...do you think they'd look better in gold trim blues or gold trimmed blacks?"
Ery continues his lazily handled reloading then readies to fire it when he gets a clear shot. He glances over at Vicard once during his monologue.

![]() |

"Oh shut up, Ery Vicard says amicably, barely able to stay on his feet. He weaves a bit as he talks to the sorcerer. "Have you hit anything with that crossbow of yours? Don't you have magic or something?".

![]() |

"We both know I cant hit worth a damn with this thing...secondly, Yes I have magic...but alas undead tend to not be affected by my magical charms...or sleep abilities...Y'know because they don't sleep."
The elf sighs as he steadies his aim. Smirking lightly as a thought came to him.
"If you die, would you look better in black or blue, Vicard?"

![]() |

"Red, Ery. It would set off the various bloodstains I have acquired. Why do you ask? Do I look fit for grave clothes?" As this witty repartee goes on, the investigator slumps against the wall.

StephNyan |

@Ery & Fiona: Ery'd already posted for Fiona's 3rd round before my previous post. In my previous post it was a new turn for everyone. Since Fiona posted actions for herself 1.5 hours after she was up in round 4, I'll go with those actions.
Eryzule lazily reloads his crossbow as he ponders several styles.
Fiona moves up to Urbar and smears some of her healing ointment on his wounds, healing the ranger back to consciousness.
Tereze wants to aid Gwendallyn again, but has to dodge the Legionnaire sword and stumbles away from the undead.
Gwendallyn's shocked by Fiona's sudden appearance on the battlefield. She yanks her hand axe from her belt, but cuts through nothing but empty air.
Round 5:
Urbar (Prone)
Vicard (Disabled)
Tereze
Gwendallyn
Bronze Legionnaire -8HP
Eryzule
Fiona
@Urbar: You're back and have been moved to the nearest unoccupied square. You're prone though, and when you went unconscious you dropped your weapons. They're on the floor, in the Legionnaire's square.
@Vicard: You're at exactly 0 HP, which gives you the disabled condition. Withdrawing is a full-round action, and not possible for a disabled character. You may retcon your actions.

![]() |

Posting my actions now as I'm headed to Chicago to pick my mother up from the airport. Not sure when I'll be back.
Attack: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 4 + 2 = 24
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Gwen maintains her position to protect her comrades, hoping to keep the attention of the zombie on her and Tereze. She cuts at the foul undead with her trusty handaxe!

![]() |

Urbar wakes up again and realizes he is in a very bad position. He remains in his position and tries not to move, as to avoid the undead's attention.
How long...? Undead aren't really my thing judging from... this...
Skipping my turn here.

StephNyan |

Urbar stays where he is and Vicard takes a big step away from the Legionnaire.
Longsword: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (10) + 2 = 12
The Legionnaire continues to fail hitting Tereze.
Gwendallyn maintains her position and nearly cuts off the Legionnaire's head with her axe. The head now hangs from its neck, attached to just a few strings of flesh.

Fiona draws her dagger, ready to pierce at the bronze legionnaire, but ends up holding back, leaving the finishing blow to the others. Unfortunately, her eyes seem distant yet again.
Skip the turn.

![]() |

Seeing the head hanging by just a thread Tereze gives up trying to distract the thing. She drops her club (which goes spinning away from her) and draws her dagger from her high boot.
Why will you not die!
She slashes at the the Zombie's neck trying to sever its head.

Going to post Gwen's actions now in the event the zombie is still up. It's my son's 2nd birthday tomorrow and I will not be around tomorrow or Saturday (his party).

Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
Gwen continues her assault upon the zombie with Tereze, feeling an exhilaration as her fellow Varisian puts her all into he combat!

![]() |

"At anyrate, I'm glad I work with you guys."
Ery fires his crossbow from the hip... He just knows...
atk: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
the bolt flops out of the crossbow, the elf didn't latch it properly.
"I once knew a guy who had a similar issue...just involved his nethers rather then his crossbow."
The elf let out a sigh.
"This...we need tea."

![]() |

Urbar, still remaining as still as possible looks around to see where everyone is and to see what his possibilities are. He knows he is going to get a sword through the ribs when he stands up, not wanting to die he remains still.
Skipping another turn, sorry guys! :(

StephNyan |

Congratulations, Gwen! ;)
Fiona draws her dagger, but holds back. Her eyes seems distant yet again.
Tereze slashes at the Legionnaire with her dagger and misses it again.
Eryzule shoots another bolt at the Legionnaire. The bolt flips out of the crossbow and drops on the floor.
Urbar remains quiet and still.
Vicard also stays where he is, but has trouble standing still due to his condition.
Longsword: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20 Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5

Seeing how hard the zombie is to hit Tereze reaches back and remembers an old story of how to kill the already dead.
Stepping forward she intentionally steps into the things blade and traps it between her arm and the side of her chest. With a shout of Embrace Death! she pulls the monster close and drives her dagger under its face guard, grunting as its sword slices deeply into her side.

As the legionnaire slashes at Tereze, Fiona is stirred into action, attempting to stab the undead creature with her dagger, managing to get a few solid hits at its old armor.
Attack: 1d20 ⇒ 18
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 3

StephNyan |

Tereze remembers an old story of how to fill the already dead, and intentionally steps into the Legionnaire's blade. She traps the longsword between her arm and the side of her chest and lets out a shout as she pulls the undead close. Tereze drives her dagger under the Legionnaire's face guard and it stops moving.
Eryzule reloads his crossbow and Fiona stabs the Legionnaire through a weak spot in its armor, making sure it won't move again.
Combat's over!
The exact type of armor the Legionnaire wears isn't described, so I can't tell you what it is.

![]() |

Urbar slowly rises as the undead falls to the ground.
"That was... painful..."
He says as he rubs over the place where the fatal wound was.
"And I even tried quiet this time."
He says in a irritated voice.

![]() |

"So long as your still alive, I appreciate you."
The elf said as he joined the others, lightly patting Urbar on the back.
"Shall we continue?"
Ery reached down, lifting the longsword into hand. He looked it over and shrugged, sheathing the weapon in his own belt. Would be good to have a plan "B".

StephNyan |

You head over to the room at the back, which Urbar tried to reach before the undead attacked. The door to this chamber was once a pane of expensive frosted glass, which now lies in broken shards on the floor. Within, several desks lie overturned, papers in disarray, and chairs smashed to kindling. A sturdy steel cabinet sits against the back wall, its doors much battered and dented. The mist here roils near the floor and ceiling, creating a strange patch of visibility stretching from knee-height to a few feet overhead. The smoky tendrils flow up and down the walls unnaturally and savage visages swirl to life, fanged mouths agape, before dissolving into mist once more.
Roll Perception if you choose to enter the room.

![]() |

Sliding into the room, Ery looks about.
Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6

![]() |
Fiona follows Eryzule into the room, the mists somehow helping to clear her mind. In fact, she thinks to herself, she has never been so lucid in the past couple of years at least.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 20

![]() |

"So, anyone for a nice evening of foolery, dancing and pleasures of the flesh after this foray into death?"

![]() |

Urbar collect his swords and slowly follows the others into the room.
Should have brought those health pots... At least a little healing salve...
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10

![]() |

"Foray against death" Vicard corrects. "We fight dead things, not go into them. Me and Urbar came close enough last room. As for the foolery...you buying the drinks, sorcerer?"Vicard adds, raising an eyebrow at Ery.

![]() |

With a mocking gasp, the elf places his hands to each of his cheek as he inhales with wide eyes, looking to vicard.
"Me, buy? Sir. Sir. This Charming personage was hoping you'd buy. The nights young. I may save your life yet. Thus being owed a drink. Alternatively, the girls will pay for us."

Before anyone reaches the far door Tereze pulls out her wand and heals herself

She puts her wand back away and picks up her club before advancing to the door.
As joins the group she says: As you are inviting everyone, I see no reason zat ze girls would pay.
As a matter of fact, if you really want to count, I believe you still owe Fiona for her help after some crossbow bolts a few weeks ago...
With that she peers through the doorway.
