"Damn it!"

The elf shouts, trying to think of something to do. Placing a han dto his own chest, Ery uses Cure light on himself, after trying to swim away with a five-foot swim.

Vicard stays on the boat and changes from his moringstar to his longspear. Then he waits for any enemy to come into his range.

"Draw them to the surface!" he shouts, but he worries that these foul creatures are too cunning to come to the surface.

Tereze's mind seeks across the planes and latches on to the mind of a simple creature, playing in the waves of a vast wild ocean.

As their minds connect she sends along a simple thought: HELP! along with an image of a scaly thing attacking her "pod" with a trident.

A moment later a silvery dolphin appears in the deep water below the boat. It attacks the red scaled creature trying to drive it closer to Gwen.
Celestial Dolphin Slam (+ Smite if evil): 1d20 + 5 + 0 ⇒ (8) + 5 + 0 = 13
Slam Damage + Smite (if Evil): 1d4 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4 + 2 for smite.

Dolphin stats:
AC: 13 - HP: 15, Swim 80' for full stats see here

As the creature appears, her mind focuses on swimming over and reaching the boat.
Swim Check: 1d20 - 4 ⇒ (19) - 4 = 15
She kicks strongly and her head breaches the surface. With a gasp of breath she focuses and swims over to grab the gunnels of the overturned boat. Pulling herself along the side of the boat she braces herself with her buckler arm on the prow of the boat, and shouts:
Anyone know what zese zings are? I saw Gwen swim after one, but I can't tell how many of zem zere are!

@Steph - Hopefully braced on point the overturned boat, I shouldn't have to make swim checks to stay afloat, although I will remain in the water. My thought is I'm trading my shield bonus (as my buckler arm is occupied) for stability. Having been around plenty of overturned boats IRL, this seemed a perfectly reasonable trade off as flipped over rowboats are actually pretty solid bases to hold onto.

Rounds remaining for Dolphin: 5

I'm assuming moving onto the boat is only a move action rather than full round. If this isn't the case, ignore Fiona's hex.
Fiona hesitates for a second before grabbing Locke's arm, who helps her onto the capsized boat. As water drips from her she slowly stands up, finding her balance.

Catching her breath, Fiona then notices one of the creatures' shadow not very deep under the water and begins muttering her arcane words at it, hoping to take it out of the battle at least temporarily.

Urbar draws his second sword and jumps into the water. He tries to stay afloat whilst looking down where the enemies are.

Swim: 1d20 ⇒ 9

@Fiona: I won't even count a move action for you. Locke just grabs you and pulls you up.

@Tereze: Okay!

Locke pulls Fiona atop the rowboat.

Gwendallyn attempts to chase after the enemy, but finds herself unable to make any headway.

Vicard switches his morningstar for his longspear while staying on the rowboat.

Tereze finishes her spell and a celestial dolphin appears from another plane. It immediately attacks the nearest enemy, but misses. Meanwhile Tereze swims over to the boat and grabs onto it.

Urbar, instead of drawing a third sword, attacks the creature below him.

Atk roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
Dmg roll: 1d8 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

@Urbar: Don't forget the penalties for using a slashing weapon in aquatic terrain.

Eryzule stays afloat, but the cure spell he tries to cast fizzles when he fails to concentrate on it.

Urbar drops himself in the water and his head goes under. He attacks the creature below him, but his arm moves a lot slower in the water and he misses.

Reposting the extra rule for those who move on top of a rowboat:
If you want to move while on the slippery bottom of the rowboat, you'll have to make a DC 12 Acrobatics check. Failure means you'll fall off. In that case, roll a die to randomly determine on which side you fall off. If you end up on top of someone, that person will be pushed to an adjacent empty square/cube of his own choosing.

Steph, you've done 13 damage to the dolphin right? If that was a normal summoned dolphin then yes that would take it out. But I have Augment summoning, so that dolphin has 15 HP. Still hanging by a thread unless my math is wrong.

@Tereze: I keep underestimating your dolphin!

Locke delays.

The disarmed enemy 5-foot swims over to Tereze and attacks her with both its claws and a bite.

Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17 Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Claw: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Bite: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11 Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

Tereze's hit by one of the creature's claws, and has to refocus her concentration on her spell.

@Everyone: Without aid Ery will reach the 2nd phase of the following in round 6;
"When the character finally fails her Constitution check, she begins to drown. In the first round, she falls unconscious (0 hp). In the following round, she drops to –1 hit points and is dying. In the third round, she drowns."

In fairness I'm holding on to the boat with my buckler hand to avoid swim checks, so I don't get a shield bonus and my AC is 17. So both the claws hit.

Tereze gasps as the fish creature moves in front of her.
Concentration: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
She tries hard to bring forth more help but her thoughts scatter as the pain explodes in her side from the beast's two claws.

Spiked Gauntlet: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

Within the mind of the drowning elf.
Sitting peacefully on a red oak chair, lined with red velvet cushioning, the elf sits at a white marble table simply sipping on amber colored tea.
Oddly enough, the floor of this place seemed to be filling with water. Ery stared blankly at the oddity simply holding the cup to his lips. A woman of magnificent elven beauty appeared on the other side of the table. She wore black with a sash of yellow.

"My dear Lord of Tea, The woman said with a seductive tone that rolled off the tongue like silk, "These creatures have brought you closer to my house. But I'd hate for you to diminish form the world."

With the wave of her hand, the woman caused the rising pool to display the events as per the scrying spell. In awe, the elf simply raised a brow, watching as he friends scrambled about in the chaotic splashing of water. "I'll miss them." He said, watching his body fade from the surface.

Fiona takes another deep breath of air, then dives towards Eryzule with the piece of rope she is still holding. The greenish water has turned red around several of the combatants and battles ensuing, but Fiona tries to concentrate as she does her best to tie the unconscious elf around the waist and shoulder. She then gives a strong tug on the rope, hoping Locke is paying attention, and does her best to lift Eryzule's body towards the surface but her efforts have little effect.

Not sure these were the right skills to use; Eryzule should be easier to lift underwater.

@Tereze: I forgot that blue had bane cast on it, so you were hit just once after all! :P

Tereze loses her spell after the enemy attacked her. She lashes out at the fish-like creature, but misses. Meanwhile, her dolphin misses the other enemy.

Fiona jumps into the water. She doesn't have to go underwater, because Eryzule's barely below the water's surface. Fiona ties the rope she's holding around Eryzule's waist, so Locke can pull the elf up.

Vicard tries to get onto the boat, and again fails to do so. On the bright side, his swimming seems to have improved.

Locke pulls Eryzule out of the water and onto the rowboat, where Fiona stood a moment earlier.

Eryzule, now he's out of the water, is able to breathe air again. Slowly, his consciousness returns. (If you're at 0HP you're usually just disabled. So now he's able to breathe again, Ery regains consciousness and gains the disabled condition instead.)

Gwendallyn finally manages to swim back to the surface.

Urbar wants to attack the nearest enemy, but fails to swim up to it. As such, Urbar can't attack the creature.

Trident: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 4 = 24 Damage: 1d8 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Confirm crit: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
Bite: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (15) - 1 = 14 Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4

Tereze's dolphin is skewered by the red enemy's trident, then bit in its throat. It dies and disappears from this plane. (For real this time.)

Claw, Bane: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (17) + 4 - 1 = 20 Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 2 = 5
Claw, Bane: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (18) + 4 - 1 = 21 Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6
Bite, Bane: 1d20 + 4 - 1 ⇒ (7) + 4 - 1 = 10 Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 2 = 6

The blue enemy continues to attack Tereze, hitting her twice with its claws. Luckily its bite misses Tereze.

Encouraged to see Eryzule lifted to safety (for now at least), Fiona's attention quickly turns to Tereze, who is clawed twice by one of the water creatures and begins to bleed profusely as well. Unable to reach and help her, Fiona wanted to draw at least some of the creature's attention by swimming behind it, but fails. Instead, she quickly casts a defensive hex on Tereze, hoping it will provide her with at least some protection.

Strength check to upright the boat... Maybe that'll make life a little easier.
