"So what part are you disputing and how much are we betting? The way I see it: If your male, I'd win money. If you're female, I still win. And isn't that the great part? Besides, Vicard and Urbar really need more woman in this group. Muscles and Tereze are a bit... Distant. Oh, and their is Fiona.. But she's still coming into her own. We don't want them to take advantage of that."

Ery rolled his eyes as he shifted away from Tereze. He looked to Gwen and was about to speak but Locke's elvish comment caught him off guard. He turned to "the Mask," His eyes narrowed...

Elven:
"Tea master? Please sir. Anyone who takes such a title is obviously trying to sell you something. I am the Lord of Tea. Please note that there is a difference, and that if you compare me to a salesman again, I will make sure your many future states of unconsciousness are met with a variety of healthy, albeit painful, reminders of your offence."

During his rant, his tone is both stoic and light hearted. Odd.

The Tails suited Vixard. It reminded him of the dives he usually hung out at, drunk and wasting away, in between jobs from the Society. That didn't mean he blended in. For one thing he wasn't very nautical and for another...Ery never blended in anywhere. It was a good place for a meeting though.

The investigator nods, grunts and shrugs at the right points in Ospery's message. Despite his silence he takes in every word. Tracking down a pirate selling illegal, and valuable goods? Right up his alley. Almost too much after chasing undead through Absalom, exorcising haunted museums and plumbing the lower regions of Augstana's sewer system.

He nods as Tereze's suggestion t hat he led the way. But before he can say anything a masked stranger visits their table.

Great, another weirdo. He thinks to himself as he watches Ery and the strange have the time of lives quipping. Finally though, his blank expression draws Urbar's attention.

”I'm fine.” he says shortly, ”Just anticipating a new headache. He gets up with a sigh, ”Come on, crew. We got a pirate to find and we can see if Mr. Mysterious here is worth his while.”

The elf walked casually with the others, headed in the direction and location that Vicard was leading them all to. His left arm folded behind his back neatly as he looked over his right hand. A relatively large (compared to Ery's frame and all) vine, composed of small weave vines simply wrapping around one another, twisted around the elf's forearm and coiled around his palm. As his head tilted, looking the plant over, so did the vine.

"Adorable."

The elf made note to himself aloud as the plant recoiled back into his robes. When he looked up, they had arrived at the shop..

"That would be a plausible conclusion at first sight, yet no.

I've worn a mask on occasion since i was little, for the sake of anonimity. Its far easier to find a kid without a face concealed, than it is one who does.
I suppose it's become sort of a second nature. Wearing a mask, the one doing something could be anyone.
For all you know i could be your neighbor next door, the butcher's daughter, the tailor, anybody. If ever i were to go undercover, i'd have an easier time walking around in my own appearance."

Urbar, not wanting to mix in the conversation, can't resist such an opportunity. After Locke stops talking he pulls open his mouth.
"Or you are really really ugly, say the ugly that chases you out of town."

"Urbar. I think I speak as the one of the more sane. If you begin destroying our group form the inside, I will have you bound until you can cool your head."

The elf placed a hand against the crossbow at the small of his back.

"We cannot afford this level of rivalry or conflict on these missions. Locke wears a mask. You hate humans. We get it. One of you has a massive reproductive complex, I get it."

Pausing a moment, Ery searches for words to attempt to keep the aggressive Urbar from turning on the group.

"The things inside the shop will likely be hostile. More often than not, Human is likely the bulk of their forces. kill them to vent your unfortunate hate of humanity. Your Ironic self loathing will not tear apart our mission. Is there going to be a problem?"

When still with Osprey:
Osprey shrugs at Urbar's question. "If force is required, use it. I leave that up to you."

To Tereze he says, "Authenticity is nice, but it's mainly what's written on the tablets that's interesting for us. I can tell you much about the backgrounds of Lubor or Darsielle, but it won't do you much good right now."

Locke then appears, and Tereze asks Osprey if he knows the man/woman. "No, I don't. Though I was informed someone named Locke would join you."

"One last thing. Half the Inner Sea is hunting Darsielle Du Moire, and the Society needs you to get to him first. So be fast."

Present time:
On your contact’s advice, you arrive at the shop of one of Du Moire’s supposed connections. A sign over the door reads “Lubor’s Imports.” The door hangs slightly ajar. All is dark within, and eerily silent. As you peer inside, you witness the scene of a recent brawl. Furniture lies smashed and strewn about. Near a closed door at the back of the shop, two bodies slump upon the floor, their blood pooling slowly beneath them.

Try to open the front door:
You actually do open the front door!

Too late to do anything about these two out here, I have to move on.

Tereze looks over Locke's shoulder as he opens the door.

Seeing the girl and the body she pushes past Locke/Ery and enters the room.
Looking around she tries to see if there is anything that tells what happened in the room.
Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 17
As she looks about a stray thought flashes through her mind:
Strange that the girl was not crying out loud when we entered and did not call out for help, I certainly wailed for anyone to help when I saw 'Nana dead at my feet... Although I suppose she could be scared.

Assuming she sees nothing that makes her immediately think this is a trap, she puts on a comforting expression and focuses on the girl.
How Horrible! To be cut down in ze prime of his life.
May I examine your father? I may be able to help him or if not, at least determine who did zis.

As she waits for permission, she tries to get a read on the girl.

"Let me see here..."

Ery casts Presdigitation and creates a crude looking book from the ether. as it dissolves into light particles, he begins to read aloud, adjusting his none-existant glasses...

"It says here in my "Vengeance is your friend, let us dance..." Book that I am in full right to torture and destroy the poor souls who caused this."

he taps his spindlevine spine to the ground.

"Dibs."

The elf smirks to himself as he closes the book, causing it to burst into nothingness. He then notices the little girl having only previously noticed her would-be father.

"Oh, and we are sorry for your loss."

With the maybe dead Urbar points at the woman's dad.
"Do you care to explain how this happened? We'd rather not force it out of you."
Urbar adds, his swords still in his hands.

Not the method I would choose, bit if Vicard deems it necessary we might have to...

His eyes shift back to the child, hoping Locke scared her enough to not have to do such a thing.

Gwen looks down at the girl with suspicion, her own thoughts echoing that of her companions. She remains close by Tereze while she offers to examine the girl's alleged father. "Enough with the veiled threats. I'll stay here with Tereze, the rest of you go look for anything that might indicate who was involved here. I am no good looking for clues."

If there are no arguments, then Gwen will stand next to Tereze, prepared for a fight, should the young girl make any threatening gestures.

Poor girl lost her father... she's probably horrified and I can understand her. But we need information quickly if we want to catch whoever did this. I'll try my magic... Fiona stands behind the others and tries to soothe the girl by her slow, almost hypnotizing cadence, hoping to make her more pliable in answering the others' questions.
"My poor girl... what happened here?

"Well," the little girl starts as Fiona's hex kicks in, "Du Moire asked me and some of my allies to come with him, and here he killed Lubor. Du Moire then left, and we were just busy stealing all of Lubor's stuff when you came in. So I cast mage armor on myself and then I disguised myself as Lubor's daughter, hoping to draw your sympathies and buy my allies some time to attack you."

The door in the north wall of the room with the girl flies open, revealing a man with a composite shortbow. "Katiya! The heck?!"

Tereze can see another man, also holding a composite shortbow, standing beside the man in the door opening.

"That was the plan all along, fool!"

"I know, but...! ugh!" Katiya shakes her head and points a finger at Tereze.

Fiona allows herself a small smile as the girl exposes her friends' cover, then moves into the room, trying to get close enough to the two men in order to cast one of her hexes on them. Yet as she moves in, the voice in her head begins speaking again, taunting her, Fiona... did you think I left you alone so quickly? Look how your friends are going to kill that poor girl who just helped you. And it's all your fault. Again. Fiona abruptly stops her casting and stands still for a moment, then cringes and disregards the raging battle around.
