Round 7:
Everyone, begins to buff up, expecting all hell to break loose. A few seconds later, debris and building go flying. Aviendha orders her companion to try and find out where it may be. It doesn't take long, for it, and everyone else to smell something, so atrocious and offensive to the senses that your stomachs start to churn.

Wizzy: go
Idemi: cast grease, miss due to no line of sight
Berith: attack and miss
Aviendha: go
Hippo: go
Jaysin: go
Boge: go
Voros: moves and goes invisible
Berith takes a mighty swing, but not being able to see his foe hits nothing but air. Idemi, conjures up slippery goo, and throws in where he thinks there's an enemy. Unfortunately, he throws it behind the enemy, coating the ground behind it.
1d100 ⇒ 1
okay, will keep that in mind
Berith |
Fortitude Save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 4 = 11
Berith, slightly off-balance from the intense odor, takes a cautious step forward and swipes at the opening.

Idemi N'josk |
Fort Save: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20
Idemi ignores the stench, too focused on the mystery of what broke through the wall. He notes Berith's missed swing. He's still not sure whether there's a creature there or not.
"If somethin' be there, ya best watch ya step."
Idemi casts Grease on the ground in the opening.

Voros |
Fort save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
"Ow what an awful smell! Where's the creature? Where is it?" says Voros under great stress.
Not wanting to be in the pack if something big comes down on his head, Voros moves outside of the pack and drinks an extract of invisibility. *Poof*
Voros drinks extracts, so liquid spells, to be exact. ;) He already drank his mutagen.
Jaysin Deckert |
Fort: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Jaysin fires off two arrows to where he believes the awful smell is coming from!

Jaysin watches as his arrows fly off into the debris. Blast it... somebody find that thing!

Round 6 Wizzy starts his inspire courge +2..
Round 7 he pulls a scroll of glitterdust and casts it at where stinky busted it through the wall.. DC 13 or blinded, regardless it will be visible for 3 rounds.
This makes him visible so his flag bonus goes into affect as well.. Back to +3 hit/dam for all, +4 hit for Boge.
Fort vs Sick: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (5) + 8 = 13 Not sur ehow long its been but Wizzy drank an anttoxen/antiplague combo at the insane assylum.. +5 if its still active.

"Ugh what is this horrid smell. And what is that outline. It looks...gross."
The sword I found is extra effective against abberations...It sure looks gross enough
Aviendha steps up to the fray and uses her new found sword to strike the creature after using a fervor to get divine power active.

Since when does your hippogriff have reach? A standard hippogriff has space 10' with only a reach of 5', so it will have to be right next to me. If I missed something, please disregard damage done :)
Round 1:
Spawn: visible for 3 rounds.
Wizzy: cast glitterdust, singing (sick for 10 rounds)
Idemi: cast grease, miss due to no line of sight
Berith: attack and miss
Aviendha: attacks using bane sword
Hippo: attacks spawn
Jaysin: two shots, miss
Boge: casts true strike
Voros: moves and goes invisible
Wizzy inspires everyone to focus and take down the beast from another dimension who wishes to reek destruction, who then does his best to give his comrades a fighting chance by outlining the horrible creature is sparkling glitter. Unfortunately Idemi, casts a spell before Wizzy does his thing, and not be able to see poses a problem. Same with Jaysin, who lets two arrows go flying into the debris of what was once the middenstone vat complex.
Aviendha, then charges forward, easily avoiding the creatures bite at it and hits it, and the weapon seems to slice through it like butter, causing the Spawn to hiss and shriek in pain and anger. She commands her trusty companion to aid in the assault, it closes in, but isn't expecting it to snap at it, and cause a nasty wound to its chest.
Boge, gets ready to join the fray, but not before focusing his inner self to strike at the Spawn better.
The Spawn of Yog-Sothoth, quite angry at Aviendha, who just dealt a considerable blow to it, retaliates with a ferocious bite, followed up with a a few tentacles. The remaining tentacles go after larger than life Berith, who by his sheer size seems a formidable foe.

Boge Granitefist |
Sorry, couldn't access map during last update. Boge would have 5' stepped forward last round so that he would be in range of the creature.
Sick round 2/10

Berith |
I must have forgotten to up his CMD when he leveled because his base CMD should actually be 18: 10+4(str mod)+1(dex)+3(BAB). Large increases CMD by 1 and strength mod by 1, so it should be 20 at the moment.
Aviendha-RK |
"Havok withdraw boy. This creature is too dangerous for you!"
You are quite right. thought it had 10 ft reach ¬¬
handle animal: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (10) + 15 = 25

It seems you forgot its 50% miss chance for being blinded. That is unless it doesn't need to see..
Wizzy moves over to provide healing next round.. This round he continues singing and tries to figure out any weaknesses that the beast might have.
Take 10 on Know Dung for a 25
If its not resistant etc he'll then cast Ear Piercing Scream at the creature..
Sonic: 3d6 ⇒ (1, 2, 2) = 5 DC 15 Fort for 1/2 and negate daze
DM Stylz |
Boge, unleashes a flurry of kick, and punches, more connect than miss, causing severe damage to the otherworldly Spawn. Aviendha, calls her friend back while she leaves another deep gash in the tentacled enemy. Wizzy, then sends reverberations up and down the body. The spawn, in its weakened state cannot stand the onslaught of the heroes. It melts, and all that is left is a small pool of smelly, acidic white sludge.
As the creature disperses into the aether, the crows circling above, seem to caw at the valiant effort of the eight of you, and seem to rejoice in that the darkness that had fallen over the land is once and for all gone.
The rain, slows, and a few hours later seems to disperse as well, leaving a small amount of sun exposed down upon you.
You return to Absolom, and report the news to the Venture Captain, he tells you that were acted honorably on behalf of the Society, and should a Lodge get set up there, that should provide a lot of good things to help secure it.
END SCENARIO, WILL GET THE CHRONICLES/REPORTING DONE IN NEXT DAY OR SOMETIME OVER THE WEEKEND.
Wizzy, it had blindsight 30' so seeing was pointless. It may have been a cakewalk, but if you had no time to prepare, then it probably would have been tougher/climactic
Boge Granitefist |
Oh yeah, I've heard this boss fight can easily TPK an unprepared party. We (I) got pretty lucky with some high rolls there.
Boge breaths a sigh of relief as the thing dissolves. He gets down on one knee and says a silent prayer to the forces of nature.
