Aviendha steps forward and slashes at the creature with her scimitar.
attack: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 2 = 29
dmg: 1d6 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 7 + 2 = 11
confirm: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 2 = 16
dmg: 1d6 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 2 = 15
If the creature is still breathing the hippogriff follows after Aviendha and attacks the creature as well. If there is space to fly it will fly above us
attack: 1d20 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 2 = 27
dmg: 1d6 + 6 + 2 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 2 = 11
EDIT forgot to include the bard bonusses. Included now.

Wizzy will end his song as a free action and wait for it to be over considering he can't get in the room..
The buff will continue for 2 more rounds via LIngering Performance.
| DM Stylz |
Aviendha, step next to the enemy, and takes a well precised slash at the enemy. The scimitar cuts deep into the collarbone, and it drives across the chest. Blood spurts from the gash, and the enemy drops dead.
Combat Over. You have 1 unconscious enemy, and the hippogriff was too big to fit in the room
Aviendha-RK
|
the hippogriff has narrow frame so he can squueze to join us in smaller areas, right?
Aviendha-RK
|
"Shall we question the remaining one? We might learn something" Aviendha suggests.
Voros
|
"Good idea, but do you think we will understand what he says?" asks Voros to Aviendha.
Jaysin Deckert
|
Sure, talk to it if you wish. Just be sure no more lurk nearby.

Wizzy pulls a wand and begins the heal the shadow folk back to conciousness..
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (6) + 1 = 7 if thats not enough. 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 and so on until he awakes..
Additional Rolls: 3d8 + 3 ⇒ (8, 7, 5) + 3 = 23
"I have a spell to understand if we don't.."
| DM Stylz |
After the first charge of the wand, the man's eyes start to flutter. He opens up, breathing heavily, and gibbering on in a language unknown to any of you. He tries to break his binds, but is unable to due to their tight knots from Boge...not to mention he is outnumber like 6-7 to 1.
What spell are you casting Wizzy?
Jaysin Deckert
|
It? Bad magic room? Murderers. Hmph, now I'm offended. Jaysin looks at Wizzy and adds, Well? Can't you make any sense out of that?
Floggentop Wizzbottle III
|
Wizzy repeats.. "We're these people sent by it? Where are my brethren? MURDERERS!! Just kill me now, I refuse to go down to bad magic room." He pauses before continueing.. "I would bet whatever came up and destroyed this place scared these creatures out from the darkness as well. The bad magic room also doesn't sound to good.."
Boge Granitefist
|
Boge nods silently at Wizzy's conclusions. He slaps his thigh to get everyone's attention and motions back out to the first room and uses his fingers to mimic climbing up (or down, whichever way they go) stairs.
Aviendha-RK
|
Aviendha nods her confirmation at the oreads suggestion.
"Could we find out where this bad magic room is?"

Voros

"Very well, let's go." says Voros.
"However, we can't let the creature bound in a place like this. I suggest we free him."
| DM Stylz |
map updated
The group, lets the dark folk go, he simply cowers in the corner, not putting up any fight or resistance.
The group decides to head towards the descending stairwell. As you head down the stairwell, and the hippogriff squeezes himself into a tiny ball as possible, you pass through multiple architectural styles as it winds deeper into Carrion Hill’s past. By the time you reach the bottom of the stairs, some 800 feet down, the style is carved stone and natural cave.
Swaths of dried, black slime are caked upon the stairwell, luckily it has dried to the point of not making anyone sick by the stench of it. Water drips down on the walls, leaving trickles of water on the stair as you descend.
Ancient stone pillars support a stone ceiling here. Thick sheets of pale fungus and mold cake most surfaces. To the south, the hall has collapsed in rubble, but to the north it opens into a vast cavern in which eerie glowing light flickers. A thick, dry smear of black slime and strange circular prints in the mold runs from a flight of stairs in the west wall north into this cavern.
Voros

Is there any way to try to identify the slime?
Aviendha-RK
|
"Should we follow the tracks?"

| DM Stylz |
An immense cavern sprawls here, its floor an uneven jumble of
loose stone and fungus, its ceiling rising like a church cathedral to a height of nearly a hundred feet above. Glowing fungus grows thick on the walls, bathing the cavern in ugly hues of purple and pale blue. Toppled pillars and mounds of rubble dot the western half of the cave, while to the east a mound of fungus, bones, and rubble rises. At the mound’s apex squats a flat-topped altar stone, with towering barren trees rising on three sides, their leafless branches twisted and groping toward the ceiling above as if in search for a sun’s warmth they shall never feel. A trickle of what appears to be sludge runs thickly and slowly from a hollow under the altar stone to gather to the northwest of the hill in a swampy pool. Four cave passages branch off from the cavern, but only the one to the southeast has not been blocked by a series of relatively new-looking iron bars. A swath of black slime and round footprints winds from the wide passageway to the southwest up to the southern bank of the pool of sludge.
Aviendha-RK
|
Finally able to spread its wings, the hippogriff flies in the air, lazily flapping about.
Aviendha sees the footprints and with her scimitar points them out for the rest.
Voros
|
Voros nods at Aviendha and follows her.
Voros
|
"I wonder if we are currently in the "bad magic room". Can someone detect magic to see if there's any?"
Boge Granitefist
|
Boge looks around for any plants or other signs of life in this underground dwelling.
Knowledge (nature): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (19) + 8 = 27
He doesn't seem too interested in the altar but helps follow the trails of sludge.
Survival: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
Jaysin Deckert
|
Jaysin nods at the assessment the others have made of the place and follow's Wizzy's lead with the antis, swallowing both with a look of distaste. Better safe than sorry. Let's follow these footprints then.

Boge, can tell that the trees are not natural, they were conceived via necromantic energy. They are almost fossilized now, their bark as hard as iron, their branches extending across the ceiling and touching, like fingers groping in the dark, decorated with hanging bones.
Wizzy and Jaysin, drink vials of disgusting tasting liquid, in a better attempt to protect themselves from any hazards that me be present. Voros gets a little closer to the alter with the book. Wizzy, starts to cast a spell, and that is when someone comes out of the darkness and attacks Voros with a viscous bite

Floggentop Wizzbottle III

Wizzy starts his inspire courage, +3 total hit dam, +4 hit for Boge, and attempts to figure out what the critter is.. Taking ten on all knowledges get him 25+. If I need more I can take 20 once per day.
Boge Granitefist
|
Seems like a fine system. I can usually post at least once/day anyways, at least until I go on vacation.
Boge enters a fighting stance (Mantis Style) and moves up to assault the creature!
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 9 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 9 + 4 = 33
damage: 1d10 + 5 + 3 ⇒ (10) + 5 + 3 = 18
DC 20 Fort save or stunned for 1 round

With a quick whistle signal Aviendha signals her companion to attack the creature from a flanking position.
attack PA: 1d20 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 6 + 3 = 12
dmg: 1d6 + 6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 6 + 3 = 13
"Foul creature, Sarenrea burn you away!" Aviendha yells as she steps in, uses her fervor to call upon the divine favor of Sarenrea and slashes at the creature.
attack PA: 1d20 + 7 + 2 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 7 + 2 + 3 + 3 = 35

dmg: 1d8 + 7 + 3 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 7 + 3 + 3 = 19
Voros
|
I usually post once or twice a day, so no problem for me.
Save fortitude: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
Surprised, Voros says something in Abyssal, sounding really like a curse, and retreats back so to not provoke any further attack.
I take the opportunity to say that Voros has a maw and therefore always threatens in melee. So you can flank with me.
Jaysin Deckert
|
I can post at least once a day also but I don't mind any GM rolling skill checks or saves for me to speed things up so I say go ahead and roll.
I knew it! Always something lurking in places like this. How did you not notice something that big?
Jaysin takes a short step forward and fires a pair of arrows at the creature!
Rapid: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (13) + 11 = 24 for Damage: 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (4) + 13 = 17
Rapid: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 28 for Damage: 1d8 + 13 ⇒ (2) + 13 = 15
Idemi N'josk
|
I have time to post just about every day, but I'm totally fine with the GM rolling skill checks or saves for me to keep things moving.
Idemi grins wide at the creature, showing his orcish teeth. "Things aren't lookin' so good for ya, mon. At dis rate, I'm gonna be sketchin' yar internal organs in a few more seconds."
Intimidate: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (6) + 15 = 21
Berith
|
Berith marches up, his hooves clopping against the hard stone. His horse head speaks in deadpan as the "rider" raise his guisarme. "I intend to allow you to remain standing, creature."
Trip Attempt: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (19) + 7 = 26
| DM Stylz |
slight retcon since Paozo ate my 1st round actions since I won initiative. It will not affect your PC action, but I will get 1 more swing on Voros
The ghoul, seeing the intruder is still upright and not succumb to his paralysis, strikes out with another bite.
bite vs FF: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (14) + 10 = 241d6 + 3 + 3d6 ⇒ (6) + 3 + (2, 1, 2) = 14
After biting Voros, it fails to retreat back into the darkness. Between Boge, Aviendha and Jaysin, the trio easily dispatch the creature. Boge with a powerful fist, Aviendha with a precise and powerful slash cutting across the sternum and then 2 well placed arrows by Jaysin: one to its chest the other square to head.
COMBAT OVER
------------------
After dispatching the ghoul...in easy fashion, the group starts to explore the creepy area they are in. You find 2 bodies: one lies face down in sludge north of you (area 11) and another is slumped against eastern side of the altar. Wizzy, you gonna cast detact magic again?
Aviendha-RK
|
"Are you okay Voros? You took quite an amount of attacks from that creature." Aviendha says as she wipes away the muck from her sword on the rags of the downed creature.
