Voros |
"Maybe we should knock them out, so they'll stop screaming?"
Boge Granitefist |
Boge tries to stop them screaming again.
Heal: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (19) + 15 = 34
If that doesn't work, he takes Voros' suggestion and hits them just hard enough to knock them unconscious. Nonlethal damage of course.
Floggentop Wizzbottle III |
"I agree knocking them out is probably for the best." After the deed in done Wizzy falls in behind Boge as they move deeper into the building.
DM Stylz |
The bound men keep screaming, that is until Boge kicks them unconscious with his fists.
The group regathers themselves and starts to systematically go from room to room of the asylum, with the hippogriff squeezing itself into cramped areas.
presuming you are still going from 2-3-4, etc
The group search the room right next to them, it is the cloakroom where straitjackets, and other bits of clothing used by new arrivals or stored temporarily by visitors. (2)
The next room is quite barren, you get the sense that it was a simple holding area, where new inmates would wait to be deloused and than moved elsewhere. (3)
Boge then goes across the hall, to the next room, where a chair with attached restraining straps stands before a blackboard. (4)
This room is a small office, a desk and chair take up the vast majority of the room. (4a)
Aviendha-RK |
Aviendha gives the rooms a quick once over. The office is interesting, maybe some papers are left there.

Guards: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19
The group, not seeing anything of interest or note, continues in its uncovering of room by room. The enter the main hall and turn south and the east after a few feet. The door in front of them, Boge listens behind, but no sound is heard. In the room beyond is an armory, where a dozen extra suits of armor as well as clubs hang on racks for the guards. (18)
Next up, a few feet south is another door. Beyond consists of a few large tubs, where the guards bathe. (19)
Finding nothing of note, Boge continues on, and the hippogriff starts to squeeze its bulky frame into the tight quarters of the hallway. Boge opens the next door to find 3 guards. (21)
Voros |
I can make passive ones to speed up the game unless there are major objections :)
yes, I agree 100% :)
Hearing noises, Voros goes up the column. When he faces the guard, he backs up behind his Oread fellow and fires an arrow at the first guard.
+1 Longbow: 1d20 + 10 + 1 - 4 ⇒ (11) + 10 + 1 - 4 = 18 for Arrow: 1d8 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 7 + 1 = 15

Top guard: Attack Boge with soft cover
Middle guard: (15 damage) Attack Boge
Bottom guard: Attack boge with soft cover
Idemi/Berith: GO/GO
Jaysin: GO
Wizzy: GO
Avienda/Hippo: GO
Boge: GO (14 damage total)
The other guards move forward to create a line. Two swing at Boge, even with the door frame in the way, while the third, albeit an arrow sticking out of his thigh takes a swing of his own.
AC 17 boge: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 241d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
AC 19 boge: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 211d6 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
AC 19 boge: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 201d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
All three guards manage to connect with the burly monk, even despite the door being in the way. The first club hits him in the chest, the second clubs gets him right on his head, while the third gets him in the thigh.
Boge Granitefist |
Boge tries to force his way into the room with a few strong punches!

flurry power attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
nonlethal damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Berith |
"I have no intention of going into that room."
Berith tries to charge into the room.
Berith will attempt to overrun the guard in the doorway. Berith does not have improved overrun, so the guard can choose to take an AoO and suffer the overrun attempt, or he can choose to let Berith past and not take an AoO. I moved Berith to where he would end up. He should provoke a couple of AoOs from the other two guards regardless.
Overrun (if the guard doesn't avoid): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
Aviendha-RK |
Aviendha can't get in either. Btw are all guards now lined up against the doorway? Map needs a update I think.

Boge Granitefist |
I always forget Boge has Improved Trip. Ah well.
Also: Boge enters his customary fighting stance! Swift action to enter Mantis Style.
DM Stylz |
[i]am on phone, map still needs update. There will be a guard in door with a guard flanking him. I will update soon[/ooc]
berith, are you wanting to change your action since Boge took out your intended target?
Boge punches the guard in from of him that clubbed him on the head. The first punch gets him in the gut, the second goes wide, but the third headbutt to the face knocks him out cold.

on phone, updated map should be: 3 guards in a row: one unconscious in door with another on each side. Berith can still change action if he wants since Boge took out target. Sorry, won't be able to update til tonight or tomorrow at latest. Company coming for turkey day and need to get house ready & I work retail lol. thanx for ur patience and understanding

Berith will instead move into the room, provoking as needed, and attack the one furthest to the left. Cant update map, as I'm on my phone atm

Jayson will move up into the hallway and attempt to hit the guard in the doorway. I'll include -4 for cover though that might not be enough, your call.

I took the liberty of updating map.
Jaysin you forgot +3 hit/dmg buff :p
DM Stylz |
Berith, moved past the downed man, but both guards are ready with their clubs. Both men vash their clubs against the door frame.
AOO: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 81d20 + 7 ⇒ (10) + 7 = 17
Berith, past the door and unscathed, takes a swing at the guard. Wizzy, and his indpiration voice helps him get in a "groove", causing a large gash to open in the guards thigh. He is still up...or at least until Jaysin drops him with a well placed arrow to his other thigh.
Voros, then nocks an arrow, and somehow manages to implant in the other guards chest, splitting the ribcage, blood spurts from the wound.
The lone guard, turns to Berith, and moves to attack the "man".
Attack if AOO don't drop vs AC 25: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 151d6 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4

Jaysin: GO
Wizzy: GO
Avienda/Hippo: GO/GO
Boge: (14 damage total) AAO FOR BOGE ON GUARD & GO

Jaysin, searches the room, but the search yields nothing, other than the 3 leather armor and 3 clubs wielded by the guards just defeated.
Feel free to heal as needed, but going to continue on.
Boge, and crew move on to exploring the complex. The next room in their path, is a guest room. The room is currently empty, except for the dingy pale green walls and smooth stone floors. (22)
Next on their journey, is the laundry room. Dirty clothes and linens fill this room. The strong smell of cleaner is present, as the people are less than clean. (20)
The kitchen is the next room discovered. The three closets to the west include a privy, a pantry, and (in the central room) a trap door that covers a funnel-shaped hole in the floor. This 3-foot-deep funnel narrows to a 1-foot diameter hole that leads southeast to empty through the ceiling.
As Wizzy, passes through the room, he hears distant sounds of something shuffling, grunting, and slobbering somewhere below.
Other than the garbage chute, and few cutlery there is nothing of importance in the kitchen. (17)
The way the complex is set up, you have to go thru the double doors to 13 --> 14--> 15
The group travels towards the next areas, wondering just how big this structure is, when they reach the entry hallway, they get the lovely screeching and screaming of gibberish as before when they first entered this dismal place.
What do you want to do, initiative is set up should you go that route :)

update time :) Again thanks for your patience :)
Two screaming, babbling; straight-jacketed are ignored by the group. They continue to scream and babble as the group walks on by, making sure there are no other threats on this level. I forgot to include that the doors in the hallway of D5 are open and you can see a staircase leading down. Does that change anything? If so, please let me know :) Sorry about that.
Boge and Aviendha lead they way to the next set of double doors. The listen behind it and nothing appears there. The group opens the set of doors, and see another set of double doors. Beyond that set of doors is an elaborate office space. Nice chairs and couch adorn this space. A mahogany desk, sits in the center of the room, slightly worn and damaged, but otherwise very nice. D13
DM Stylz |
1d20 ⇒ 18
Boge starts to riffle through the desk. He finds various papers on related topics or notes on his inmates. In the very back of the desk drawer, he finds a hidden compartment. Inside the compartment he finds a wand.
Wizzy, looks at the wand, casts detect magic and studies it for a few moments. He finds out it is a wand of suggestion with i9 charges. The desk and the room seems otherwise empty.
Seeing that there is nothing else of note, the group continues to explore the gloomy place they are in.
Boge, opens the doors to the south is a private lounge. Nothing extravagant about the room, just a place for some quiet time and relaxation. D14
Beyond the private room, there is a library. Books line the shelves of this small room. Perusing the shelves, yields subject matter primarily focusing on ancient cults and savage practices from around the world.

Jaysin follows along, noting the condition of the comforts the place seems to have offered it inhabitants. Flipping through the odd book or two in the library, he starts to get impatient. Nothing here but books and tomes. Perhaps we need to head down the stairs?
