Wizzy will fill the Mauor in on all the details.. "Yes, we believe they have summoned somthing they could not handle and now its after them. For each one it consumes it grows stronger.. We must reach these men before it becomes to powerful to handle. Which ones place of living is closest?"
DM Stylz |
This is unfortunate indeed, that this creature, which I have identified as being invisible, is the cause of 5 men. I unfortunately do not have the manpower to help you figure this out, so I appreciate you taking the initiative in the matter
He lisyens to the names told by Aviendha, thinks for a moment, from my place, Crove's Asylum is the closet. Please hurry, and as my way to thank you folks for helping us please take these supplies I had shipped in urgently to deal with this darkest of times. as he motions to a chest near his desk.
The chest contains: 10 potions of cure moderate wounds, five potions of lesser restoration, a scroll of see invisibility, a scroll of invisibility purge, and a dose of dust of appearance
Need to update map, at work so won't happen for a while. Will let you know when all is ready. Thanx for your patience. Also I know turkey day is coming up soon so please enjoy it if you celebrate it and posting will be more involved come the Monday following should things lag
Floggentop Wizzbottle III |
"Thank you for the help Mayor.. We'll get right over there." Wizzy begins looking over the items.. "I cannot use either of the scrolls. Whoever can use them should take the dust as well so he/she can coat the creature for all to see. I'll take 2 healing pots and lesser resto pot if noone objects.."
DM Stylz |
MAP updated, please adjust marching order, I again faked it as the way think it may go :) Hippo will be unable to fly on ground floor, may change later on will let you know if it does :)
The group gathers the goods, given by the mayor to aid in the effort of eliminating the threat, and heads off towards Crove's Asylum, on the eastern cliffs. Once the group gets closer, you can see that the building is made entirely out of stone, and no windows are present to let any sort of light through into the structure.
Feel free to let me know where you go in term of building navigation :)
Aviendha-RK |
That's a lot of rooms we have to go through. I'll take 2 pots and a restoration and scroll of see invisibility if noone minds.
"I am quite fine, thank you Idemi. Let's get this started shall we. I hope we do not have to search the entire house. Shall we start going right and explore the rooms as we go?"
Suggesting 2, 3, 4, 4a, 18, 19, 21, 22, 20, 17, 13, 14, 15 then the top half. Unless we find something that suggests another direction. Are our trapfinding alchemists checking every door thoroughly? Take 10/20/rolls?
Voros |
If I take 10 (but it uses a bit of "in game time" and we are kind of in a hurry, aren't we?) that makes 28 on disable device.
By the way, I take 2 pots
Boge Granitefist |
Boge signals for another hit of mage armor from his wand before heading in.
He leaves the consumables to everyone else but leads the way when someone points a direction to go.
Aviendha's plan looks good!
Jaysin Deckert |
Jaysin would also take two of the potions and a lesser restoration one as well, if still available. He nods in agreement to the plan of action suggested.
DM Stylz |
The rain continues to pour down, soaking everything in sight. The heroic party, casts a few buffs and readies to enter Crove's Asylum, where the most deranged and sinister inhabitants of Carrion Hill end up...either that or the graveyard.
When nearing the entrance, Boge (and anyone near the front lines), can see the front door is slightly ajar, as if welcoming you in out of the rain.
do you dare enter the Asylum...
DM Stylz |
Boge, checks the door and all appears to be okay with it. He gently pushes the door open. What is revealed on the inside is a grim and dark place. There are candles, in sconces, providing dark and shadowy illumination throughout the complex. The walls are painted a pale dingy green. The floors are all sooth stone. What is most surprising are the 3, straight-jacket bound, people on the floor.
Upon noticing Boge, all three start to shrieking and hollering in gibberish.
Map updated
Boge Granitefist |
Boge makes nonthreatening gestures to calm the people down as he moves up to assess their physical and mental states.
Heal: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (4) + 15 = 19
DM Stylz |
Boge tries to calm them down, but the people continue to shriek and babble in gibberish. They are certifiably nuts.
Wizzy, creeps up, next to Boge pondering why the prisoners would be out of their cells, in straight jackets. The prisoners continue to shriek and babble incoherent thoughts while staring at Boge and Wizzy.
Wizzy, cast detect magic, but there are no magical auras present within the cone. The sounds of the shrieking and babbling drown out the area, Wizzy is unable to see or hear anything of note other than the prisoners.
Wizzy, to see then you will have to be closer, at least the second row near Aviendha. Also, whatever effects you had when going underground before are gone. I see that you recast Heroism, are you re-uppig the anti-vials?

Puzzled by the sound, Voros moves closer.
Jaysin Deckert |
Strange indeed. Perhaps we should try to identify these people. I find it coincidental that there are three of them. Jaysin will follow Voros closer.
Jaysin Deckert |
I do hope you were addressing them and not including me. Jaysin scowls at the half-orc after hearing the outburst.
DM Stylz |
Idemi, Wizzy and Boge all ponder what the meaning of the three straight jacketed men mean, while Jaysin tries to intimidate them to shutting their mouths. Just as Jaysin tries his best, the double doors in front of them burst open.
Rushing in, are four individuals, wearing leather armor with some sort of cage-like helmet. They wield clubs, and look determined to make you pay.

Wizzy, what are you aiding with as there are no enemies next to both you and Boge?
Boge, takes the club to the sternum and retaliates with strikes of his own. The first punch simply hits the man's armor. The knee that follows doubles the man over while his uppercut finishes the man and knocks him out cold.

Wizzy, with the help of his trusty whip, aids Boge in his flurry of attacks. This help allows the hardy Oread to land two blows on the first man he targets, causing him to drop to the ground, but still alive. The third attack, with the help of his momentum, he manages to kick the man square in the thigh, sending shooting pain up his leg. He is clearly hurt, but not out of the fight.

"You should keep trying to hit me. I won't take it personally, and I won't reciprocate."

When out of nowhere, an arrow comes flying from the bow of Voros, weaving through the mess of allies in front of him and the arrow pierces the man's armor, straight into his heart. Blood spurts, as the man collapses in a bloody mess.
