#6-00 ACTUAL MAP

There is three teams of agents.

You are now in charge of three teams of Pathfinder agents.
As ordained field commanders you can direct these teams as you see fit. Uncovering additional background information, make later encounters easier, or perform other helpful deeds that can contribute to the scenarios’ success conditions.

Preparing the team.
There are three major ways the PCs can give their teams the best chance of success.
Equipment: Although the NPC Pathfinders have the essentials to go adventuring, they expect that under these dangerous circumstances, their leaders will provide them with additional resources.
Your team (or one of you) can provide at least 1,500 gp worth of items to help them in their mission.
Mission Briefing: You should provide a concise mission briefing for each team, establishing what the NPCs should accomplish. Each of the missions has two Knowledge skills associated with the task, representing key information that the NPCs don’t know but that could help them in the field.
Before giving the briefing, a PC who succeeds at a DC 25 Knowledge check in one of these skills recalls helpful information. A PC can also attempt the second skill check, but the DC is 30 and grants an additionnal bonus to the team.
Play to their Strengths: Each of the teams is particularly adept at certain tasks, and assigning a team to a mission that suits its strengths results in a better outcome.

So for the teams, you have several missions to send them to (you can send 0, 1, 2 or 3 teams to the same mission, but each team could do only one) :
*Send them investigate the Sundersun Site
*Send them investigate the Uskwood Site
*Keep them with you, in hopes they could help you during your own mission

Thanks for recalling all that information, Ilmakis!

Basalte scratches his bald earthen head for a minute or two, then proposes. "Rmmmbll. Perhaps the Axe-fixers to Uskwood? If there are defenses around, they could... *ahem* "fix" them. Or would the Scroll Seekers be best suited to infiltrate the site? They are quite apt at it." Then after another minute. "The Kernaugs are occult specialists? They may uncover clues at the damaged facility."

Suggestions/corrections are of course welcome.

"With their knowledge in the field I think the Kernaugs are the best choice for the Sundersun Site. I agree the Axe-Fixers should go to the more guarded site at Uskwood. Now to decide which group to send the Scroll Seekers with.. I'm leaning towards with the Kernaugs as the alien creatures found there worry me." He pauses and thinks..

"It might best to just simply divide the Scroll-Seekers and send Janira and Ko to help infiltrate Uskwood with the Axe-Fixers and have Athrax and Tarys go with the Kernaug group for a little more muscle. That is if they are willing to spilt up for the greater good. Two teams of 6 sounds better than one team of 4 and one team of 8.. Thoughts?"

"Kernaug's crew should be able to find out whatever happened at that facility, no problem. I might like to have Janira's crew with us, but if this rock is a dangerous place, we're the best equipped to handle it."

Need to sit down and work out chronicle purchases tonight, Kurik can certainly lend some gold for items to the teams.

#6-00 ACTUAL MAP

So to resume your proposal for the teams:
Basalte : Axe-Fixers or Scroll Seekers -> Uskwood & Kernaug Group -> damaged facility
Darius : Axe-Fixers -> Uskwood & Kernaug Group -> damaged facility
Split Scroll Seeker between the two groups or send them with the Axe Fixer
Faldoc : agree with Darius' proposal
Kurik : Axe-Fixers -> Uskwood & Kernaug Group -> damaged facility &
Scroll Seeker with you

Seems clear to me that you will send the Axe Fixers to the Uskwood site and the Kernaug Group to the Sundersen site.
For the Scroll seeker the choice seems between sending them with the Axe-Fixer or taking them with you.
What's your final choice ?

Also, I let you decide how much (or what object) you give to the each teams that could help them in their mission.

Darius will pay for one tema, 1500.. Also I prefer what I suggested, Axefixers plus Janira and Ko to Uskwood. Then Kernaug plus Athrax and Tarys to Sundersun. Seems like the best odds for both teams to succeed. Bringing a low level team with us would likely result in deaths..

#6-00 ACTUAL MAP

After discussing which team to send, you call them at your side, under the Master of Sword watch.

Once you explained your decision the Scroll Seekers don't seems to enjoy being separated but as good Pathfinders they agreed to do it. At least it wasn't too early in the morning or too late into the night that the mission is given to them.

Janira says I'm not sure we will work well separated, but we will do our best to help each team to the best of our abilities !

The three teams, no merged in two, wait for your explanations about their next mission.

To help each big team, you will must provide for at least 2250gp worth of equipement.

You can, but it will delay your departure by one day (as to get the skill rank you must worn the headband 24h)

Nothing to add?
Anyway, to help you make the recombined teams work better, for each team you can make a perform (oratory), or a profession (soldier) or a diplomacy check for the mission briefing.

#6-00 ACTUAL MAP

  • You can only aid up to the max you are able to achieve. To help the recomposed teams to work better together, it's one roll by team.
  • I will rule that Shirley's use of Commune will count as a success for one knowledge roll (primary or secondary, your choice) to prepare the chosen team.
  • The knowledge rolls represent the briefing and the info you give them to be best prepared against the danger or specificity of the mission. Not just a survival thing. Spellcasting, maps and things like that will count as "equipment" gift.

Ok to recap, Darius provided Primary brief for Sundersun via Know Dung 31 roll. Shirely provide the Nature portion to the Uskwood team via Commune spell.

Equipment wise Darius provided one heroism scroll(375), a potion of cure mod(300), a potion of cat's grace(300), plus 525 gold. Kurik was going to provide Beads of Newt Provention at 1l a piece. Not sure how many though. Faldoc offered to put up funds, but not sure how much. Basalte has yet to offer up unless I missed it. So it appears the groups have the required monetary aid. I will suggest we spend Darius's 525 gold, plus some from Faldoc to buy a casting of Find the Path for the Uskwood team. That should help cover the Geography potion as it will get them their directly. It costs 660 gold total. Any other thoughts or addition team? Im not sure we can help the secondary Engin roll for the Sundersun group. Perhaps purchase another commune spell for that? If that would work that is.

Nobody seeming to want adding something, Marcos Farrabellus close the meeting and wish you luck and success to your missions.

After briefing the two recombined teams and giving them enough material to help them for their mission you go your way, to the coast of Nidal, to Wingless Rock.

After a short trip by teleportation and then by boat, you come near the island of Wingless Rock, a resigned pile of blunt black rocks that endures the thrashing sea.

Not even worthy of being called an island, Wingless Rock rises hardly more than 20 feet out of the water—far less at high tide—and measures all of 100 feet across at its widest point. Aside from algae and the inhabitants of sickly tide pools, nothing naturally lives upon the eroded, volcanic heap. The remnants of a gray, salt-blasted fishing shack lean amid the boulders on the southern coast, but no other features mar the ugly pile.

Its shore is irregular and inhospitable, which might matter if anything of interest stood upon the barren heap.

    Perception DC15:
You can spot a sagging gray shack—little larger than a shed or outhouse—squeezed between two slimy rocks on the skerry’s west side.
    Perception DC+10 Above:
You also notes numerous scuffs and scrapes upon the rocks on the western shore, suggesting the recent passage of booted feet.

    Survival DC30:
You realize that the marks are indicative of dozens of boots over a span of months, all taking disparate paths toward the shack.
