#6-00 ACTUAL MAP

Shump will join on our next session. So going back with the 4 players adjustment

The dragon looks at Darius Intimidate (swift action): 1d20 + 32 + 4 ⇒ (7) + 32 + 4 = 43 to shaken him.

Then tries to bite him hard again !

Bite (deadly stroke) on the defensive + Snatch: 1d20 + 30 + 1 - 4 - 6 ⇒ (1) + 30 + 1 - 4 - 6 = 22
Damages: 2d8 + 12 + 18 + 2d8 + 12 + 18 ⇒ (3, 3) + 12 + 18 + (6, 2) + 12 + 18 = 74 +1 CON bleed damage

But Laoralis failed to hit Darius !

It's just +8 from strength and +6 from power attack.. Gargoyles add full bonus to secondary attacks.

I don't find this rule on the Four Armed Gargoyle entry nor for the simple Gargoyle.

LINK TO CREATURE

When adjusting with Monstrous Physique you have to look at the base creature for how their attacks work. As you can see the gargoyle gets full strength bonus for all attacks, ergo shifted into one you get the same bonus. It's moot really as he only hits with a 20 on the secondary attacks and with the dragon's DR I doubt much went through.. The attacks aren't magical so.

#6-00 ACTUAL MAP

Yes, but that's the way natural attack works. They are not secondary attack.
Used in conjonction with weapon iterative attacks they become secondary (-5 to attack and strength bonus/2)

Kurik is able to heal Darius with his god energy.

#6-00 ACTUAL MAP

The Pathfinders begin to explore the cave and after a few minutes of exploration are able to find a portable hole.

Inside the portable hole are a magical shield made of dragon's scale, a pair of magical gauntlets and two vials of what appears to be the sun orchid elixir. It also contains two loosely bound folios, seven large scrolls, a steel inkpen over 2 feet long, and a pint of ink.

Both folios contain extraplanar observations of phenomena from throughout the Inner Sea region, though notes written in the margin provide ongoing commentary about how these events correlate to Thuvia and teleportation mishaps in the region. Collectively, the books posit that the composition of the sun orchid elixir and its effect on a creature’s age reacted in an unpredictable way when exposed to the Astral Plane— where all teleportation effects briefly travel—a decade ago. This might have caused a dangerous reaction or attracted astral predators; the writer favors the latter hypothesis based on the increased movement of astral creatures around Pashow, as if in anticipation of finding another elixir. The inside cover of each folio contains the words “For you as part of our deal. —S.P.

The scrolls are all written in large letters as if by a giant; this is Loaralis’s handwriting. They present the writer’s thoughts about the two folios’ contents, including her skepticism about the alchemical-astral reaction. As you study these writings, you can tell that the author is obsessed with recovering a sun orchid elixir, though it seems more a point of pride and obsession that it is a matter of rejuvenation or profit. Loaralis’s last scroll records the reports from her spies who attempted to track down the folios’ author. The dragon believes that the author is one Professor Kramolag, a member of the Aspis Consortium who operates several laboratories in Nidal in order to research phenomena from beyond the stars and beyond the Material Plane. There is enough information in these scrolls that a dedicated researcher might be able to deduce these laboratories’ locations.

You are one of the few creatures who have ever seen a vial of the precious sun orchid elixir, much less hold two !

DC 25 Craft (alchemy):
You can determine that even drinking a

After catching his breather Darius examines the items in question.

#6-00 ACTUAL MAP

Darius recognize a Dragonslayer's Shield This +2 heavy steel shield has a distinct curve to its shape and often bears the device of a valiant knight. The wearer of this shield gains a +2 bonus on Reflex saves against effects that originate or burst from a point outside his own square, as though he had cover. It does not protect against spread effects. This bonus does not stack with that granted by actual cover or give cover to any creature other than the wearer. In addition, the dragonslayer's shield grants its wielder a +2 morale bonus on Will saves against the frightful presence ability.

The gauntlet are gauntlets of giant strength +4 functions as a belt of giant strength +4, but occupying the hands slot

Each Pathfinder is able to look for a few seconds to the Elixir before getting them back inside the portable hole and get out of the ancient abadarian vault.

==============================

By thwarting Loaralis’s schemes and recovering the vials of the sun orchid elixir, the Pathfinders have ensured Pashow’s continued prosperity and averted the civil unrest and coup that could have rocked the region.
Within hours, the rioters disband, and Guldis announces the safe arrival of the last remaining shipments. The populace quickly repairs the damage inflicted and prepares to hail its renewed fortune.
As the true heroes of the day, the pathfinders can accompany Guldis to dozens of social events in celebration of the elixir’s arrival.

News of your victory against Loaralis and its death at your hands quickly spreads and enhances your prestige even further. Much of the city’s industries are relieved at the death of the hidden crime lord to whom they often paid protection gold.

In the aftermath, the three Pathfinder teams report back to you, but how well did they have done ?

Last but not least:
The first three players can roll a d20 for each team to know how well they have done.
A player can use a free re-roll (such as that granted by wearing a Pathfinder shirt) to re-roll the team’s check, but miscellaneous bonuses
from GM stars don’t apply to this check

#6-00 ACTUAL MAP

Oops! Sorry, wasn't clear -at all- ! I was asking for three separate checks, one per player :p. My english is not that good ^^

Thanks to your gifts, your info and for having choosing well their assignment all teams seems to have done well without casualty nor psychological scars.

The Kernaugh group is the first to report.

Maralyn Corwins, the leader explains that the planar connection to the
Astral Plane gradually subsided, though a strange cultist shifted to the Material Plane partway through the investigation.
She explains that they subdued her and attempted to interrogate her, but as she spoke, she began to dissolve into liquid shadow and screamed as
she evaporated! Before she died, they learned that she serves a member of the Aspis Consortium from within the shadows of Nidal; however, the team and her believe that the way she spoke of her master suggested that the Aspis Consortium connection was tenuous or otherwise “not right.”
The only belonging left behind was a medical bracelet bearing the number “311.” Which she gaves it to you.
Except for the number, it match the one you found with #117.

Janira is the second to report for the Scrollseeker, smiling happily.
We've discovered that the Aspis gold agent Kitio Aspenthi appears to be the one behind the attacks, and his other attempts to steal elixirs failed. He is now on the defensive, especially because it seems he failed his true master: the aggressive Prince Zinlo of Aspenthar! after a look at her friends she adds The team’s best guess is that Prince Zinlo hoped to instill unrest in Pashow and then annex it while it was weak.

Last, Garl and Shrade, sometimes interrupted by Eskarvan or Adelum, explain what they have done, without too much axing.
They proudly tell of how they struggled side-by-side with Pashow’s guards, earning the locals’ respect as they prevented an angry mob from destroying a marketplace.

You remember the noise when fighting the Dragon and you think is was luck that the third pillar didn't explode as all the marketplace will have fall !

Grand Lodge

After debriefing the team, it's your time to report back to Farrabellus.

He is keen to review the texts you've recovered from Loaralis’s lair, and he congratulates you on a job well done. Already the Society’s fame in Thuvia has spread, and no doubt new opportunities in the region will materialize thanks to your efforts.

Please, do not travel far in the coming weeks, as I hope that your clues will help the Society track down the source of the mysterious extraplanar records.

THE END

Chronicles are on their way !

Grand Lodge

Master of Swords Marcos Farabellus meets with you four behind closed doors at the Grand Lodge in Absalom after sending you an invitation to meet. Marcos Farabellus paces thoughtfully for a moment before rapping his knuckles on his desk to call the meeting to order.

Sometimes challenges force us to re-examine how we treat others, including old enemies. That’s a good thing, leading to growth and moments in which rising stars can distinguish themselves against dire odds.
He gives an appreciative bow before continuing.

I say this because we’re not alone in our struggle against the Korholm Agenda; they’re even more a thorn in the Aspis Consortium’s side than in our own. If we let those wounds fester, it will destroy us both. It’s jarring to work with the Aspis against a common foe, but their assistance might help us stop the Korholm Agenda before they could harm thousands more innocents.

The Agenda was behind the recent events in Thuvia—again, well done on stopping that—and the team unearthed records of one Professor Kramolag, a member of the Aspis Consortium who has been supplying the Agenda with her technical expertise. When I discussed these findings with my contact in the Consortium, he seemed unsettled by the development but promised to handle the matter personally and relay his findings after the fact. Farabellus smirks with chagrin.
We may be trying to mend some bridges with the Aspis, but I’m not so foolish to trust an Aspis higher-up at his word. I sent several agents to follow his team and observe from afar as they traveled to Nidal. Within a few hours, they had broken into an underground facility, left with bundles of strange relics, and set part of the nearby plantation on fire to hide their tracks. As you might guess, my Aspis contact politely informed me that the matter was resolved and that I didn’t need to worry about it anymore. Bullfeathers!
The Master of Swords lets the affront sink in before reaching down and dumping a stack of papers on the desk. What my contact neglected to mention is that they never found Professor Kramolag. Our own experts have tracked down where she’s hidden based on intercepted correspondence and questioned survivors of that Aspis raid. She’s set up a lab on a barren island west of Nidal known as Wingless Rock, and hopefully she still thinks she’s safe and hasn’t run off yet. We’ve also found she has one other intact secondary lab at the southern edge of the Uskwood, and there are still unanswered questions about the damaged site near the Mindspin Mountains.

If Kramolag’s research is any indication, she’s armed, dangerous, and has been calling the shots for the past year. I’d like you to lead the expedition there, ensure she doesn’t remain a threat to the Society, and secure all other information you can on any other plans she’s set in motion already. I’ve gathered the teams you oversaw in Thuvia to provide you additional help, and I’m letting you call the shots on this Nidalese campaign. I recommend assigning one or two to check out the secondary sites, as it’s only a matter of time before the Consortium or the Agenda learns what we know and destroy any remaining
evidence there.

He straightens and concludes. Not every agent has what it takes to lead like you do. It isn’t easy, so I’m here in an advisory role until I have to attend to other business. If you have no question Good luck. If you have, it's time to ask.

The pile of papers are the compiled reports and illustrations Farabellus’s agents made while observing the Aspis team and scouting other sites. You may experience many of these discoveries firsthand by playing Pathfinder Society Special #7–98: Serpents’ Ire

Key informations you can find in the papers:

  • The Aspis raided a research laboratory hidden beneath a Nidalese plantation known as Wirholt’s Rictus. Few of the workers there seemed to know anything about the facility below.
  • A known member of the Korholm Agenda would occasionally visit the site, but is believed that person perished during the raid.
  • It appears the site enacted containment procedures during the raid, destroying some of the evidence before the Aspis team intervened. The Aspis agents left carrying a collection of magic items, documents, and even a few biological samples (all of unknown provenance to the Society).
  • Initial forays into the damaged facility found signs of occult research, but utterly alien creatures chased off the Pathfinder agents before they could learn anything of substance.
  • The secondary facility just inside the Uskwood seems to be the smallest of the three, but any defenses it has are likely still operational.
  • The main facility is 40 miles off Nidal’s coast, on a black skerry known as Wingless Rock. It’s a small, barren island partly surrounded by dangerous reefs and other mundane hazards that discourage visitors.

Knowledge (geography or local) 20:
Nidalese sailors give Wingless Rock a wide berth, not because it poses any serious danger, but because it’s not on the way to anywhere in particular and has a reputation for bringing misfortune to anyone who sets foot upon it. Supposedly, even birds refuse to roost on the unlucky rock.

Knowledge (geography or local) 30:
The Aspis Consortium once used a dilapidated fishing shack on Wingless Rock as a drop point for smuggling historic relics out of Nidal. Pathfinder Society agents disrupted the operation over 30 years ago.

"Seems this Wingless Rock has made a name for itself as being an unlucky place. Aspis used to have a smuggling base there and I bet it's where this Agenda has set up shop.."

"Hrmm. So we lead again. Are the same three teams under our guidance, Master Farabellus?" asks the Oread.

Grand Lodge

Yes, there is the Scroll Seekers, the Kernaug Group and ... Marcos sighs heavily and continues and the Axe-Fixers.
With your great job in Pashow with them, I think they will be in good hands.

#6-00 ACTUAL MAP
