With the undead knights defeated and the party back to full health, only a last corridor remains. Double doors open to reveal a 10-foot-wide corridor extending to the south. The final stretch of the hall is bathed in shifting energy—pink, scarlet, dusty rose, and incandescent blue.

The room radiates strong transmutation magic, and stepping into it might be consquential.

Venture Agent - Play By Post - Castamir Station

The thrown rock seems to accelerate and slow down as if travels down the hall, and it changes form as it does so. The first meters, it rapidly seems to gather moss, turning completely green. The moss then promptly disappears again, and the smoothed form of the stone turns into a small statuette. The final meters of its travel, it seems to slow down, never quite reaching the vortex at the end of the hall, but instead being suspended in mid-air just before it.

Kellan and Ketill don't quite know what to make of it - it looks like there is some time effect going on.

"Wait!", Vayu rummages around in his satchel, pulling out a couple of scrolls...

Holding up one in each hand, he thrusts each forward as he says, "Summon .... and Augury!"

Tucking summon into his belt, we unfurls Augury... uttering the contents of the spell, and specifying the course of action in question of entering the area in question, he casts the spell with the hopes of determining how wise that would be.

An augury can tell you whether a particular action will bring good or bad results for you in the immediate future.

The base chance for receiving a meaningful reply is 70% + 1% per caster level (looks like 3rd CL, so 73%), to a maximum of 90%; this roll is made secretly. A question may be so straightforward that a successful result is automatic, or so vague as to have no chance of success. If the augury succeeds, you get one of four results:

Woe (for bad results).
Weal and woe (for both).
Nothing (for actions that don’t have especially good or bad results).
If the spell fails, you get the “nothing” result. A cleric who gets the “nothing” result has no way to tell whether it was the consequence of a failed or successful augury.

The augury can see into the future only about half an hour, so anything that might happen after that does not affect the result. Thus, the result might not take into account the long-term consequences of a contemplated action. All auguries cast by the same person about the same topic use the same die result as the first casting.

Swayaah takes a look at the magic tunnel, then back at Vayu, then back at the tunnel, then BACK AT VAYU until he bursts into laughter. "Yeah, I thought so. Sounds like a trap is guarding some kind of treasure, then?"

Vayu sends the large rat into the corridor. It moves into the corridor. After moving ten, its fur becomes a dull grey, and it starts developing bald spots. The creature take one, two more slow steps, then keels over dead and decomposes in a matter of seconds.

Yeah, with no elves in the group... I dunno. I'm really considering having Kellan take one for the team here.

Kellan looks thoughtful for a moment. "I feel like such a trap must be guarding something very valuable. I'm a young woman, and we've come this far. I... may be willing to QUICKLY go in, grab what I can, and get out. As long as you all promise not to say a SINGLE word about any gray hairs or small wrinkles I may get as part of this."

We should have someone cast haste on her so that she can get in and out as quickly as possible. Do we feel like this area is safe enough that we could rest and regain our spells before she does so? Her own bladed dash spell could be read that she moves instantaneously along its path, which might save her from the effects going one way, but she has cast it already.
