"Uh...sure." Tiawask replies with slight uncertainty to Sugarsnap.
Meanwhile, Sivantanpisil easily resists the serpentfolk's spell and finishes casting her summoning spell. A leopard promptly appears in the water behind the red enemy. Maintaining its balance in the water, the cat then attacks the serpentfolk three times, but only the bite gets through due to the creature's blurry concealment and even then doesn't quite manage to maintain a hold with its teeth.

Xakon sticks his rapier into the green serpentfolk and it falls to his first attack this go around. The halfling then steps up into a flank with the leopard and hits the reddish serpentfolk twice more despite its blur spell.
Frēodwēn begins giving an inspiring speech, then fires an arrow into the red serpentfolk's head which is enough to drop it. Unfortunately, he cannot see the remaining serpentfolk behind the hard corner of the wall which saves it this time from the archer's planned second arrow.

Mudk and Jirah remain in the back with Sugarsnap, confident in their companions' ability to dealt with the serpentfolk menace.
Perhaps overconfident about its magical protection despite seeing its two allies dropped fairly quickly, the remaining serpentfolk attacks Xakon with its dagger and teeth which both miss.
In case it comes up next round, the white serpentfolk has complete cover against reach and ranged attacks from the hallway due to its position on the other side of a hard corner.

Frēodwēn flips past the remaining serpentfolk, then jumps into the warm water. He then fires an arrow at the enemy that misses.
Sivantanpisil, a leopard has a speed of 30 feet. When a swim check is made and you don't have a swim speed, you move quarter speed as a move action, or half speed as a full round action. So, the leopard will have to take a full round action swim check to move to its new position. Since this gives Xakon a flank, I'll assume you are okay with this.
Sivantanpisil tumbles into the room and stabs at the last enemy. She manages to make it through its blurry defense, but only ends up hitting a magical image. Meanwhile, her leopard swims to the other side of the room and leaves itself open to a bite from the serpentfolk. The attack hits and the summoned creature finds itself poisoned. The summoned leopard took 4 damage from the bite, and is poisoned with 1 Strength damage.
Xakon continues his attacks against the last serpentfolk. His first attack hits the real enemy, while he second attack dispels another image, and his final bite cannot make it past the creature's blur to hit.

Noting that the leopard's defenses aren't as great as the nearby Halfling, the remaining serpentfolk attempts to stab the cat with its dagger as well as bite it. Both attacks hit and the summoned creature becomes more poisoned. The Leopard took 7 damage all together this round for a total 11 damage. It has now has 3 Str damage and needs to make a DC 17 save vs. poison on its next turn or it'll take more Str damage.
Afterwards, the serpentfolk steps 5 feet to the dry ground to the southwest. As a reminder, as long as Siv is armed with a reach weapon in her current position, she does not threaten adjacent squares

My apologies if I was unclear, but to move through the water you'll need to make a DC 10 Swim check. Since Freod just hopped into the water last time, I didn't require a check, but to move even 5 feet will require a swim check as the leopard has been making. As a reminder, you can't 5 foot step in deep water unless you have a swim speed so moving any distance will provoke an AoO.

Searching the serpentfolk bodies you find three masterwork daggers and a belt pouch containing 60 gp and two orange jacinths, each worth 200 gp.
You also discover a damp sack in a jade holy symbol of Ydersius, a bag of spell components, a magical wand, and a magic scroll. There is also a scroll tube that holds a piece of parchment with a rune etched upon with a phrase written in Draconic underneath it. Jirah translates it as "The tenth level." Jirah also uses Detect Magic and her knowledge of spellcraft to discover the wand holds the spell Cure Moderate Wounds with 50 charges. She does the same with the magic scroll, but cannot decipher it.

Eventually making her way into the room, Tiawask takes note of your finds and makes a request, "Hey, I could be of more help to you if you let me borrow that spell component pouch. Also, that symbol looks like it might fit in that statue in the previous room, maybe we should try it?"

If you don't want to return to the statue with the indentation, then someone will need to either pick the lock on the north door in this room or otherwise remove it to progress. I suppose someone could also go swimming if want to get a close look at that arcane mark.
Also, if no one else expresses an opinion, I'll assume Tiawask is given the spell pouch.

"Yes, that is strange and disconcerting." Tiawask replies to Sugarsnap's observation about the Arcane Mark.
Before Xakon moves back to the room with the statue, Sugarsnap takes a bit of time to swim under the surface of the water in this room. Beyond the location of Arcane Mark is the mouth of the submerged passage not visible from the surface. Swimming along it briefly takes her to a sealed stone door with a lever on the wall beside it.
I'll wait a bit for you to react to Sugarsnap's discovery before move to the statue room.
Lady Sugarsnap |
Sugar swims back to the surface to tell the others of her discovery.
I can turn into an octopus if it would help then I could probably open that door.
GM Harker |
I'll assume you'll check the submerged passage later, and will first go to the area with the statue
Returning to the green snake statue, Xakon places the symbol of Ydersius into the depression and the golden doors click as if unlocked. As you approach the doors, hissing no longer emanates from the area.
Xakon opens the doors to reveal a vast chamber that glows with green light that seems to emanate from the stone itself. Along both sides of the chamber are emerald pools, above which loom gigantic serpent statues, their fanged maws pouring rivulets of green liquid into the pools below. On the far end is a glorious serpent statue plated with green metal scales, reaching nearly to the high ceiling. This statue is missing its fangs. In the center of its body is a glowing green emerald the size of a fist, held in place by brackets of dark metal.
Standing in front of the serpent statue is an albino serpentfolk with two heads. It is dressed in robes and carries a dagger, "Who daresss enter the sssanctum of Ydersiussss? One head asks imperiously. Then the other head adds, "No matter, you will all perissssh."

Sivantanpisil |
Can't seem to find a ruling on this... but since my spell was a 1 round casting time and doesn't come into effect until my turn this round, am I able to change the target location for my Silence to be centered upon?
As for this round...
Sivvy begins casting another long spell.
Summon Monster IV
GM Harker |
Siv, you can move the area of effect of the Silence to another area if you wish.
Sugarsnap finishes casting her spell and an arc of lightning strikes out at the Serpentfolk, although it avoids a direct hit.
Sugarsnap's SR roll: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Truffles then follows his human companion's request to attack, but two-headed creature is ready and dodges the attack.
Frēodwēn begins inspiring his companions while he draws his dagger. He then charges his weapons with arcane power.
Sivantanpisil's Silence spell finally finishes and she begins another long cast summoning spell.

Xakon, Mudk, Jirah.
Xakon |
Where are you going? You can't run from your grave!
Xakon stabs the fleeing foe and chases after him in a flank.
Sorry for delay. I have been traveling for job interview.
AoO: 1d20 + 12 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 12 + 2 + 2 = 29

SA: 2d6 ⇒ (5, 6) = 11
GM Harker |
Good luck with your job interview, Xakon.
Xakon tries to make a pithy remark, but the silence effect around him prevents the sound. The halfling nevertheless moves up to the serpentfolk and stabs it with his first rapier attack, while the second removes the last magical image of the creature.
Mudk moves up and critical strikes the serpentfolk with his falchion.
Mudk's Power Attack + IC : 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 1 = 31
Mudk's Critical Confirmation: 1d20 + 10 + 1 ⇒ (20) + 10 + 1 = 31
Critical Damage: 4d4 + 28 ⇒ (2, 3, 4, 3) + 28 = 40
This is why I don't like botting people. :-)
Jirah then fires two arrows at the enemy, with the first one hitting.

"I, I have a plan!" Tiawask announces as she pulls the symbol of Ydersius from the green statue in the hallway. The golden doors begin to close and a hissing sound emanates from area that Sivantanpisil is currently standing in.
The serpentfolk turns its full attention to Truffles, attacking him twice with a dagger and also twice with the fangs from its two heads. Only the second dagger attack manages to hit. The creature then steps 5 feet to the east. Truffles takes 6 damage from the dagger. Xakon can step up if he wishes.

Everyone is up again, although Sivantanpisil might want to consider moving.
