Any idea what's required?
Are you down to just your Scout and Soldier/Wheelman?

Would there be a place for Scientist/Soldier, or else perhaps a Pointman?

Are we all expected to be American?

I'll have to dig up my Spycraft 2 book and get familiar. I'm much more expert in the first edition. I'd be inclined to make a soldier most likely.

We have our Scout and Wheelman at the moment. Some sort of soldiering ability is expected, as you are a paramilitary group, but Scientist would definitely be an interesting twist... You do not have to be American, but you are working for the CIA, so an interesting backstory helps here.

Thanks for the interest guys, looking forward to seeing what you bring to the show..

Is it too late to jump in? I am completely new to the game but I was considering signing up for a game at GenCon

Not at all, throw up an idea and we'll see what we can do. Our Wheelman Macomb has also offered to help you guys put together characters if you need it.

Well, how about this-- what would are some good class choices for someone new to the game that would help the team out?
I see there's a wheelman and scout. From my quick look-over, I think Intruder, Snoop and Pointman sound cool, but I'm willing to go with whatever.

I tried to make a quick character and remembered how involved SC2 characters are:

Elise Carter

Mostly there mechanically, background is sketchy.

@Echos- I think either the Intruder or Snoop would be a good fit.

@spinningdice- Elise looks good except for one minor detail. We start at level 3, not 4.. If you could scale her back, I think she would fit in nicely. These guys need a medic...

Dark Archive

Think I must have got threads crossed somewhere, I could've sworn it said the team would be level 4 by the time we joined.

Never mind, will scale back.

Wow. Even with a Character Generator,I found character creation to be quite the headache. I went with Intruder 2/Soldier 1, mostly so that my character could pack a punch if needed. I'll have a sheet posted as soon as I get the time to type it all up.

Dark Archive

Okay... scaled back.

In case it's not obvious vaguely aiming for Medic (from WoF), will be playing as a medic, but fair to fill in wherever.
Progression-wise few plans, but will probably round out some more basic skill feats to share via Professor, and build down CQB chain, unless something prompts something else during the game.

I don't know if you're using subplots, but I'd rather leave off them initially until I'm more comfortable with the game anyway.

Dark Archive

Yeah - SC2.0 is pretty heavy on the chargen. If you're not sure on anything post it up, I'm a little rusty but I used to immerse myself in this book.

Yeh CharGen can get crunchy let me know if there's any part you want help with in specific or if you want help going from concept to character.

We just had a talk about Subplots and it's perfectly fine to wait until story to add them in. Looking forward to this next mission now that I'm more familiar with the XP thing.. (thanks Macomb!)

So went ahead and created a profile (though finding an Avatar when I have a picture in my head is always painful).

Think she's complete, but anyone who's played a bit more recently is free to run though and check if I've missed anything.

I think she looks good didn't see any mistakes. I would say during our briefing part of the next mission when we all take our gear picks is when you would say which temporary feats you are providing through professor. They may vary based on the mission.

Good idea Macomb. I'm not seeing anything glaring at the moment, but if something comes up, we will address it.

Shall I jump across to the main discussion?

Jump right in, they are in the Intel phase now.

Sorry for the hold up. I've been hustling my butt off with work before I leave to GenCon.
Ideally, I'd like a character who would be capable of talking his way out of things, but able to back it up with force if necessary. I was thinking some combination of Fixer and Soldier. Mainly looking to specialize in CQB training. As I said, I am not that knowledgeable in the game, so I don't know how feasible it would be, but that's what I'm looking for.

Have fun at GenCon. I worked a few years back for Crafty Games at GenCon. So to do your build you will want high Charisma of course and then I would second it with Dex/Int. Dex helps with guns and defense. Int with skills and meeting certain feat prereqs. Have you found the excel worksheet character builder?

Played a spycraft game at GenCon and I can't really say I enjoyed the system, so I'll have to withdraw my interest. Thanks for the help and sorry if I held anything up. Good luck!

Fair enough. It's definitely not a 'rules light' game. See you around the boards.
