And just to make sure no error occured: It failed the save against the Burning Hands from Numalar, and took damage from my crit threat, but the HP Tracker moved from -13 to -23? 18 Fire Damage and 10 Magical Stabbity could be 28...at least I HOPE you simply forgot some, otherwise that's nasty reduction-

Scarlet knew she got lucky at first, and she's glad everyone is helping her out. What is Alia doing here? She thinks about calling out when the Centipede bites and pummels her.

She can barely raise her hand to strike, but she twists out of the tail's way.

Hu? Did I miss something? Scarlet is still up here with us, right? She made the climb! And dodged the tail? That said, will hold action until after Zokon and Numalar...it's already quite wounded. Dunno how much time I will have, in case I don't post in time: If it still stands after their action, I'll stab it(or try to). If it goes down, I'll help secure Scarlet for some healing, backing up rather than pressing on(the climb is not the problem, but I suppose preventing her from advancing on the Mites may be ;)

FWIW, in case the centipede is 1 HP away from dying... it should have been 18 damage from burning hands and 1 from snapdragon fireworks, so 19 total. Saving against either spell results in 1/2 damage.

Aye, but I was working under the assumption it had resistance of some sort. If it prevented 18 fire damage from burning hands(because of Resist Fire 20 or something), then the separate intance of 1 or 2 fire damage from Snap Dragon would have been eaten up, too. It was more of a concept question than accurate math...GM got that covered

Zokon's first arrow threads the needle and digs deep into the thing's eye.

The centipede's scything mandibles catch Scarlet a second time--goring her bad enough to render her unconscious. She teeters there for a moment before tipping forward into the ravine.

1d4 ⇒ 1 point of Dexterity damage. Frequency 1/round for 6 rounds; cure equals 1 save.

Its twin tails again snap, taking Alia's legs out from under her.

The character can try to catch herself (free action) with a DC 15 climb check on the slope or DC 25 climb check along the inside wall of the ravine.

"Scarlet!!!" and runs as best she can down the slope and leaps into the crevasse, wand in one hand, the other out to push off against the wall if she needs to to avoid landing on Scarlet. When she hits the bottom, which will probably hurt, but at least it's a controlled fall (ie she's not unconscious)...

When she reaches the bottom she will try to clw on Scarlet.

While the whiptail is fighting from a place it is not hemmed in/squeezed it has an AC higher than 18, You did however hit it with the 20. Good intel to have.

You are correct. I don't see where Scarlet was knocked down to 13 hp she should be at 14 hp currently. So by the calculator:

31 (starting hp after Celyne cured her caltrop and knife wounds) - 17 (the last bite) = 14 (current hp) - 17 (the last bite) - 10 (fall) = -13.

When a character hits the negative integer of their Constitution -15 in this case they are considered dead. If she falls she has two rounds.

No pressure.

I did see it, but Scarlet hasn't fallen quite yet. Above Celyne noted, in a post, seeing Scarlet fall before she actually had. No biggie Celyne is an oracle after all. Then Alia posted something I initially took for a delayed action rather than a I-want-to-see-what-everyone-else-in-my-initiative-block-does-first-before-I -act request, and took the actions for the whiptail, which will lead to Scarlet being KO'd and plummeting to near-certain annihilation. Alia still has turn in which to change that possible future, before Celyne acts. You can still do that, but depending on what Alia does you might not have to.

Sorry for all the confusion.

I could see a person letting go to either Quickdraw a second weapon, or cast a quick spell, and then dive head first for the enemy and then the ground all Jon Woo-style. If you have a move action left for Alia she might even try to attempt some acrobatics on the way down to lessen the 20-foot drop.

Sorry, been ill the past few days and not feeling too good even now. Still went into work though as I'm not ill enough to not work.

Posh continues his singing whilst aiming a crossbow at the giant monster insect and attempts to hit it, however the bolt flies off wildly, flying over Scarlet's head and hitting a wall.

Previous post question:
Ugh...my whole plan depended on spell combat. But spell combat requires a free hand, which you outruled due to the climbing parts. Can I willingly let go(and accept to fall down after my action) to get a free hand? Or roll SOMETHING to stand firm while not having to hold on to the wall? Because, you know, I can't even drop my weapon and cast a touch spell defensively, because drawback...it's vastly annoying to be locked out of a class feature like this -_- I totally understand, but I have to re-consider if there even IS anything I can do except a vanilla attack hoping to beat AC 19+ while squeezing...alternatively, can I willingly fall down with acrobatics and cast from there? If so, second roll to avoid an AoO?

And just for the record, I already had a post typed out in which I managed to heroically save Scarlet, the numbers worked out, only it was illegal :P

Posh fires his crossbow in round 8, and misses.

Scarlet topples unconscious into the ravine. And then fails to stabilize.

The centipede slaps its tails down at Alia, striking to either side of her.

Celyne jumps/slides down the embankment into the chasm and lands with a thump. The centipede being too busy with Alia to take advantage of her reckless maneuver. Landing beside the other women she reaches out with her wand and touches the critically wounded Scarlet, stabilizing her.

At this point the closest one to the centipede is the dumbfounded kobold who Celyne had healed. He calls over to it:

Hopefully the kobold will withdraw around the corner.

Yet another tongue of flame pours out of Numalar's mouth, this time spraying widely as there are no more people in the way.

If the centipede is still alive after that: Numalar nervously steps back from the creature. 5' step west. Since this is conditional I haven't moved my icon yet.

Sorry about the delay, and all the confusion. I'm going to replay Alia's last action so bear with me a moment. Alia goes over the edge, but Scarlet is not KO'd to near-death nor falls, and Celyne doesn't go over the edge either. The map's updated.

Alia falls into the chasm with a *Thud*, followed by a tiny parasol tossed in by one of the mites, followed in turn by a huge, dead centipede. *THUD!*

In vengeance Posh takes the parasol mite in the forehead with an bolt from his crossbow, and it falls in as well. *Thud* This all reminds Posh of a story involving a coyote, and a sort of racing bird.

Celyne heals Scarlet a bit as the warrior lowers a rope to Alia.

The remaining mites pull back into their cave.

The kobold rises to his feet shakily, sees the gnomes and looks about for something to defend himself with being all but naked.

Trying to stabilize the last kobold, if he is still alive. That roll fails, but if the kobold (or anyone else) makes an aid another check then that would turn it into a success.
