Atlas! I've been wondering what happened to you since you disappeared, and was hoping you were all right. Good to "see" you.
Are you able to re-join the game right away, or are you just checking in? I would imagine trying to re-join all your games at once could be taxing, so just let me know when you're ready.

Wow. It IS true what they say:
You can accomplish more with a kind word and a shillelagh than you can with just a kind word. ^_^

It has been a very busy week, much of which was spent with my parent whom I was visiting. I have a con this weekend, and I have some family business to take care of next week. I may be a few more days between posts, but don't worry. When I get everything straightened out, I'll be back on the action bandwagon. In the meantime, sit tight, or if I am in your game, please bot me as necessary.

Enkїdu |

Thomas - the game has slowed down considerably since you left (that's one of the reasons Pincer left). I've been thinking of pointing that out to everyone and asking if everyone could commit to checking more often and posting as necessary, and now seems as good a time as any. Everyone-thoughts?
I'm still having fun and don't want to see this game fade out, so I will commit to trying to check in more regularly.

I think we should do a headcount just to see who is still here. I know that DA is on hiatus, but I know personally that I've been waiting for everyone else to throw in their .02, as I don't want to just post all the time.
Hrmmmphf. I'd rather too many posts than too few. A game moving too fast as a small percentage of losing 1 player. But the boards are litered with thousands of games that died from going too slow.
Indeed, I'd say let's try posting a lot and see how it goes. ^_^

GM_ZenFox42 |

I've *never* heard of the Rule of Two before. I have mixed feelings about it, because while it does keep the game moving, that means the first two players to post (and agree) dictate the action of the game, leaving the other players no option to voice their own opinions (and the first idea isn't always the best one). I think I'm agin' it.
I think Continuum is saying that he (or his PC) is the type of person who waits to see what others think, and then makes his post - and that's ok. If everyone else posts quickly, so will he. :)
Just to be clear, I'm not asking that everyone *post* something every day, just please *check* the game more often (every day, if possible), and if you see something you can contribute (or if I've asked a question), then post something. Just doing this will speed things up a lot.

Re Rule of Two, if you want to see it in action, you can see it employed to good use by a GM here and here.
It's not like a hard and fast thing that two players can use to totally screw over the party. But, like, if there's a 90% chance the party is gonna go North, and two characters have decided that going North is a thing to do, it can save a day (or more) waiting for the rest of everyone to say "Borak the Despoiler agrees to go North" and the like. =)

-- Dark Angel -- |

I'm okay with the Rule of Two if everyone else is. As for my personal life, here is an update:
My wife's elderly aunt has been moved into a care facility. My wife and I are tasked with clearing out her room of all her belongings and finding a place to store them. We have about 10 days to do this, and we have our own affairs to worry about as well. To complicate things, she has lost several savings bonds and other important papers (like her will) in her room, so we can't just go in and bulldoze the place. We have to look for the papers as we pack. It's slow going and very tedious, so until we get the room vacated, my posting will be limited, but I will try to keep pace as much as possible.

Hey guys, just FYI, Inxpitter has an update on his profile:
27 November 2018
Just had another summer internship interview pop up in the next couple days, so I need to focus on that. Will try to update soon after.
It's also been a week since he's posted in another game that he DM's, so he might be out for a spell. Might need to bot Alpha for a wee bit.

![]() |

If it looks like Continuum will need more time, I _may_ have to attack them.
Um, do I have the comm for the rest of the party? I'd like to at least keep them informed.
(Although, with Dark Angel on Hiatus, and Alpha at his summer internship, that really just leaves Enkidu, who is in the room, and Continuum who most certainly is in the room. Um....nevermind! =)

-- Dark Angel -- |

DA is here, just on limited posting. The good news is that we can see the light at the end of the tunnel and we are reasonably sure that it isn't an onrushing dragon! I think that by Monday, we should be done.

GM_ZenFox42 |

Regarding languages : SWD does have a section on Languages (under the Knowledge skill, as a sub-skill of it). The higher your die in a given language, the better you speak it. There's also a Multiple Languages Setting Rule, where you know half your Smarts die in *extra* languages (presumably at a conversational level).
While there are the V'sori and Fin in this campaign, and they would obviously speak their own native language as well as the language of those under their control, I doubt if many humans have a chance to learn their languages (and those that do are probably loyal to the aliens).

Alpha One |

I'm back! Sorry for the absence, but on the bright side I now have a paid internship for the summer! Finals are coming up, so I may become spotty the next week, but should able to post okay for this one.

Continuum |

Posting this to all my games, so sorry if you see it multiple times:
This week both my office and I personally are going to be moving. It's been crazy busy and I am not going to be able to post until Monday at the earliest. Please bot me if I am in your game, and if you are in a game I am running, I will get a post up as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience.

![]() |

I searched the gameplay, and couldn't find any explicit advancements, but I'm sure I gave at least one out during the last year, so go ahead and take one.
I'm taking Ambidextrous and...we're still doing +2 PP yeah? Then, uh, I took +1 STR last time, so I'm taking that now again too.

Enkїdu |

Guys, I'm going to retire Enkidu. I think it's obvious he's just throwing off the curve too much. Talked to Zen about potential exit strategies.
Ideas for a new guy... I'm thinking Sorceror, Psychic, or maybe genius gadgeteer. Doesn't narrow it down much, but I just came to this decision, so I havent gotten far thinking out concepts. Pretty sure we dont need a chameleon/shifter, as even with him gone, we'll still have 2.

![]() |

Imma concur with the GM here. Two attacks need to do more than leave one guy Shaken before you get to say "IMMA OP AF!!!1!" ^_^
(Mind you...I do concur that the Shapeshift ability seems to be an uber-cheap dodge to get super fighting powers. If your conscience is really bothering you about it, maybe figure out the point cost for having the stats of a grizzly bear and see what kind of a character that looks like?

Enkїdu |

Voluntary power decrease? Hadn't really thought of that as an option. I suppose I could look at it. Not sure what I would do with the points though... what other powers might fit... We also have two other Chameleons, so losing the humanoid shapeshifting aspect might be another limit that could work.
Alright, don't write me out yet; I'll take a look and see what I can do. I don't want to end up a straight Beast-Boy expy though, so I will need to see if find a niche that still feels like it works for me.

Vrog Skyreaver |

So I am posting from work:
Apologies about not posting sooner, but I have been down internet wise for roughly a week, and will not have internet back up yet for a week or so.
This means that I haven't had internet for the last 4 days (as we had 4 days off at my work for the holiday).
It's been...an experience where I learned that I use the internet more than I thought I did.
With all of that being said, I will try to post from work as I can, but if I am in your game, please bot me as needed.
If I am running your game, please bear with me while I try to post when I can. Hopefully, sooner than better, but I want to be up front about this issue.
again, I apologize about the delay.

Vrog Skyreaver |

I am posting this to all of my games, so apologies if you see this multiple times:
Unfortunately, I have some bad news.
A combination of work-related stuff has lead to me having to take some time off from the forums. I am, in all honesty, going to need to be gone for several months, as I am going to be travelling for extended periods of time (weeks or more) and I'll likely not have good access to the internet.
As I am not someone who would want to have you all sit and wait for me here, I am going to be withdrawing/closing all of my open forum games.
I want to thank everyone who I have had the pleasure to game with over the last couple of years here, as I have immensely enjoyed my time on the forums, and hopefully, once my work stabilizes, I will be able to rejoin the community.
Thank you again for your time and energy, and I am sorry that I won't be able to keep things moving forward in any of the games that I am running.

GM_ZenFox42 |

So, now we're down to three players. I've contacted two others and asked if they were interested. So far I've heard from one who said he'd look into it, but haven't heard a decision.
Enkidu, Dark Angel, and Thomas' powers *do* complement each other, and I'd be willing to continue with just you three if y'all are.
Whatdayathink?

![]() |

My concern isn't really about the party dynamics or effectiveness, but more meta, in that it's often that slow campagins are more likely to die. I'm kind of a once-a-day poster, but I'm not sure if the others are comfortable with that pace.
If we can brainstorm and come up with a way for the game to keep moving, I'd be all for it. (I mean, I also prefer a slower game to no game, too. =)

Enkїdu |

More players is good, but I'd be up for continuing either way. You're welcome to try recruiting from my Rifts game, since they already obviously know at least a bit of Savage Worlds.
What does this mean for Enkidu? Should I still try to debuff him a bit? As opposed to reducing his Shapeshifting power, I was thinking of reducing the extras, like his extra 2d6 damage. The main question is what to do with the extra points. Atlanteans are naturally telepathic, as well as adept at magic. I was thinking he could decide to try developing his mind powers, or decide to try and learn a bit of Atlantean magic. I'm leaning towards magic (Super Sorcery), as it fits with Enkidus general theme of versitility.

GM_ZenFox42 |

Well, I wouldn't object if you just kept Enkidu as-is. But if you *want* to change him, that's fine too. If you drop the extra 2d6 damage, I think you'd still be the heaviest-hitter, and the group could use some magic/psionics.
I apologize for not posting this last week, work got pretty intense there for a while. I do *check* every day, and try to post once a day (but if there's no player posts to respond to, or I'm waiting for everyone to post an action, I won't).
Can we all commit to trying to post a little more often?

Enkїdu |

Sure. Like you, I check the posts and read everything, usually a couple times a day. I have a habit of mulling other what I want to post as apposed to posting right away. Then, some times i forget that i was supposed to post something and a few days go by. Bad habit. I'll try to be more active as well.
I suppose the idea of rebalancing Enkidu only makes sense if I know what I am rebalancing him against, so at the least I should put it on hold until I find out about new players.

nilesr |

Hey guys,
I'm one of the people that Zenfox asked to join. I'm not super up on how to build supers in SW (I think its just an extra step in creating a character) However, I'm looking at building something based off of this mythological figure
Mechanically, it would be a melee based tough guy type "super"
I think you guys might already have that though...
The character concept I have is for this Jotun to be "woken" after being defeated by Thor millennia ago. He's not a hero, he was a rival and sometime opponent of Odin and Thor. As he awakens now to find the old gods gone, and aliens ruling over the humans he once called his people, his pride demands that he drive the invader off.
Hrugnir would be prideful, boastful, vain and competitive.
I welcome any ideas when it comes to mechanics.
