Gossan, Warpriest of Irori |
Surprise Round.
Recognizing the threat just before the wizard attacks, Gossan swiftly imbues himself using Fervor with Divine Favor and punches at the flat footed caster in the face, catching him off guard. Oh no you don't! he says.
unarmed strike, Stunning Fist: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (7) + 18 = 252d6 + 14 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (3, 1) + 14 + 4 + (6) = 28
Stunning Fist, DC19 Fort Save or be stunned
First Round.
Gossan continues to pummel the wizard, this time his punches do non-lethal damage, but the acid from each punch sizzles with real damage. the last d6 is acid
[dice=unarmed strike, Flurry of Blows: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (4) + 16 = 202d6 + 14 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (6, 5) + 14 + 4 + (4) = 33
[dice=unarmed strike, Flurry of Blows: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (11) + 16 = 272d6 + 10 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 10 + 4 + (2) = 23
[dice=unarmed strike, Flurry of Blows: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 142d6 + 10 - 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (1, 5) + 10 - 4 + (2) = 14
[dice=unarmed strike, Flurry of Blows: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (15) + 11 = 262d6 + 10 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (6, 1) + 10 + 4 + (1) = 22
DireMerc |
@yes devyhn you recognise the spell as greater invis. You also realized that a quickened glitterdust is a 6th level spell slot.
will save vs glitterdust: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (13) + 13 = 26 not blinded.
Glitterdust still reveals him even if he is not blinded.
fort save vs stunning fist: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (15) + 8 = 23 not stunned so he manages his step back
Gossan forgot his will vs blindness unlikely that he fails but need to know, will roll for him.
will vs glitterdust for gossan: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (10) + 16 = 26
Since glitterdust reveals him you can engage in melee even if you cannot see invis. So Achren can engage in melee (map assumes he does)
He has a few buff's precast from before he came in including stoneskin (I believe gossan's attack bypass that but not sure for others).
Gossan misses twice and hit's twice. He is bruised but not overly hurt. IE:The acid damage was all taken by his temp hp but he took the non-lethal as normal.
Arkanost attempts to grab him but another spell blocks his (freedom of movement)
Ok Archren can do his attack and then I think it's his turn.
Gossan, Warpriest of Irori |
So, is this a surprise round? We are obviously ready for a fight so not sure there should be any surprise either way. Just unsure if you mean that the glitterdust goes off in Init 14 or if it goes off, along with the other spell, and then we begin initiative.
[dice=Init]1d20+2
[dice=Will Save]1d20+16
Just a quick FYI - Gossan did not forget his will save...And you are correct that he is bypassing the Stoneskin DR. And I think Gossan has done a total of 73 points of damage. That would hurt Gossan...
Arkanost |
"Devyhn, he seems to be protected by some sort of slippery magic. I can't seem to get a hold on him."
Arkanost then redirects his telekinesis into a trip.
trip: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (5) + 17 = 22 Ugh
Out of curiosity, can Telekinesis be used to make a bull rush from behind him?
DireMerc |
@Anaotli you can change your action.
@Gossan ah sorry missed that save in the earlier post. He has 30 temp hp and 77 regular hp you did 6 acid that dropped his temp to 24 and his non-lethal doesn't exceed his hp so he remains conscious.
@Arkanost yes you can bull rush in any direction.
@Devyhn Had to do research on this one but it seems FOM blocks hold person so the spell has no effect.
Achren the Sculptor |
Achren rushes to attack the glitter-outlined wizard.
Just one attack since he's moving. How did this build work without Pounce? Grr.
Claw: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (1) + 14 = 15 Whoa, a 1! We don't fumble here, do we?
Damage: 1d8 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
Gossan, Warpriest of Irori |
Fort Save: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (11) + 14 = 25
Someone get me to the other side of that wall.
Gossan, Warpriest of Irori |
If no one can bring down the wall or transport Gossan to the other side he will begin to pummel the thing.
Gossan, Warpriest of Irori |
Aye, over time I can bring it down, but not before that dog of a wizard can cast again.
Anatoli Ghrymm |
Anatoli will walk walk until he gets to the wall and then follow the wall south until he gets to the door and then use clairvoyance/clairaudience (which he had when entering) to look at the other side of the door while being sick checking it out before he opens it.
not sitting in a puke zone with nausea while waiting for an enemy wizard to blow up the room I am in
Gossan, Warpriest of Irori |
Gossan begins to punch the wall of force. The adamantine arm bypasses the wall's hardness.
unarmed strike, Flurry of Blows: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 242d6 + 14 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (5, 1) + 14 + 4 + (4) = 28
unarmed strike, Flurry of Blows: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (8) + 16 = 242d6 + 14 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (3, 4) + 14 + 4 + (5) = 30
unarmed strike, Flurry of Blows: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 252d6 + 14 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (2, 6) + 14 + 4 + (2) = 28
unarmed strike, Flurry of Blows: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (17) + 11 = 282d6 + 14 + 4 + 1d6 ⇒ (2, 4) + 14 + 4 + (1) = 25
That is a total of 111 points of damage. Unsure the acid damage does anything. 12 of the total was from acid.
Arkanost |
"Lyaro, Gossan, Achren. Let's go."
He take a step to be between the three melee and casts dimension door, taking the four to the spot where the alchemist was last seen.
Arkanost |
Forgot the fort.
fort: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25
DireMerc |
As a note adamatine only bypasses hardness under 20 and wall of force has hardness 30 so in this case hardness would still apply.Acid es apply but deals half damage.
@Anatoli the room behind contains a room filled with large cages filled with all kinds of creatures. (A basilisk with it's eyes removed, a four headed hydra with a head missing (it has a stump that was burned with acid) a guirallon and a grick.
Knowledge arcane/engineering to recognises these creatures for that they are.
We can assume Arkanost dimensions door Gossan and achren before Gossan attacked the wall since ark has a higher init.
Gossan will attack the mage and knock him out (or kill him at your discretion)
Gossan, Warpriest of Irori |
You are right on the adamantine. I had it stuck in my mind that it was 30. Would have bet a lot even. Unsure how that got hard wired into my head wrong. And Gossan would not kill the wizard outright if has the chance to knock him out.
Watching his party though the clear wall deal with the cloud Gossan stands over the wizard for a moment before beginning to disarm him and remove his gear. Will cast Detect Magic and strip the guy down to his small clothes.
Lyaro Swordstar |
Lyaro starts perusing the book, allowing others to also look as he is.
They will probably be there a while if this guy has invented spells in the book, fascinating stuff..
If anyone talks to him "Wha?.. oh yeah." and goes back to reading.
DireMerc |
6th -Disintegrate, Transformation, Flesh to Stone, Stone to Flesh.
5th-Dominate person, Teleport, Telekinesis, Wall of Stone
4th-Bestow curse, Enervation, Stoneskin, Black Tentacles, Stone Shape.
3rd—Fireball, Haste, Vampiric touch, Dispel Magic, Protection from Energy,Stinking Cloud, Fly, Greater Bull's Strength*, Greater Cat's Grace, Greater Eagle's Splendor, Greater Fox's Cunning, Greater Owl's Wisdom.
2nd—False life, Ghoul Touch, Glitterdust, Invisibility, Scorching Ray, Bear's Endurance, Bull's Strength, Cat's Grace, Eagle's Splendor, Fox's Cunning, Owl's Wisdom, Knock, Darkvision.
1st—grease, mage armor, magic missile, feather fall, enlarge person, reduce person, ray of enfeeblement
*All greater variants of the buff spells work as the 2nd level version but the gain in stats is +1 / 2 caster levels (rounded down) and the duration is 1 round per level.
However the spells are written in a strange manner of shorthand unique to this mage and coping over any spell from his book will required 2 hours of study and a decipher script of dc 15 +2/spell level of the spell in addition to the normal checks.
Gossan, Warpriest of Irori |
Gonna do more than that. Gossan will make sure the man has no material components and secures him hand and foot and gags him as well. Picking him up and tossing him across one shoulder he nods he is ready to move forward. I am almost tempted to put him through that machine... We still need to complete the pier and burn the archon.
Arkanost |
Arkanost will walk over and sit on the man s he is being tied up.
"What should we do with him? He obviously is not a nice guy. I don't like the idea of him restarting what he was doing, but also don't really like the idea of killing him either."
He gets his face really close to the tied up spellcaster.
"...but, it may be the best choice for the greater good for us to end him.
With that, the gnome flicks the man on the nose and hops off his perch on his chest. As if nothing ever happened, he then toddles over to help with the pyre.
Gossan, Warpriest of Irori |
Unsure if Gossan was told the wizard was evil... also the culling goggles sound pretty fun. But would Torag approve of using Death Knell?
Lyaro Swordstar |
After he has finished perusing the spellbook, Lyaro cleans and sheathes his sword and watches but does not approach the mage.
"Do we have the capability to safely for us transport him out of here and do we need info out of him? I think our inquisitor friend here might need to ask him some questions." Lyaro says by way of emptying out his thoughts
Anatoli Ghrymm |
if nothing else he may be able to tell us what other little things he has hiding in this place as it may be his or belong to someone he knows or works for. Trusting him to talk without invoking a spell, however, is unlikely so someone will have to be ready to strike him if he should attempt to cast. Also I would guess he wasn't carrying his adventuring gear on him and has a stash of some more goodies somewhere around here? Anatoli surmises
Achren the Sculptor |
Achren nods and flexes the claws on the ends of all four of his suit's hands. "I'll be happy to stand behind him and encourage him to stay for the entire round of questions."
Gossan, Warpriest of Irori |
It is possible that he has spells to free him or teleport him away. We have already seen him cast quickened spells. It might be hard to prevent him from such an action especially if you plan to speak with him.
Gossan, Warpriest of Irori |
Gossan will hold/grapple the man and stands ready to strike at the wizard should he try to cast. Being grappling should cause issues as well.
Arkanost |
Arkanost will ready a silent+still dispel magic for counterspell.
Achren the Sculptor |
Achren nods at Anatoli. "Ready."
Ready a full attack action, triggered by the evil wizard beginning to cast. He's standing adjacent to and behind the wizard.
Devyhn Rhyker |
”The answers to a few questions for a start,” Devyhn replies. ”Who are you, and why have you decided to do your research down here? Let’s start with that and see where it takes us.”
(Activating Class Ability discern lies.)
