Gossan, Warpriest of Irori

Not sure how we can ever trust this guy. Gossan says to the others while maintaining his hold on the wizard. Tell us what you know of this place then.
DireMerc
"I discovered it around a year ago while doing research on a secret group called the keepers who were said to have secret stashes of rare knowledge all over the world. The place was long abandoned but much of it's defences are still active. I've been slowly making progress exploring it myself since then and when other looters started snooping around I sealed off this section that I use as my laboratory and have been looking for opportunities to grab valuable items for myself."
Arkanost
kn arcana: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 29
Any idea who this guy is?
Achren the Sculptor
"More to the point, a warning about still-active traps or dangerous locations in the area you've explored would go a long way toward taking the edge off any hard feelings."

Sense Motive: 1d20 + 21 ⇒ (3) + 21 = 24
"And, of course, you will offer some iron-clad assurance that we will not find you creeping up behind in the shadows to slit our throats as we sleep?"
DireMerc
"I'm no fool, I've seen your skills and I have no intention of attacking you once we part ways. In fact I will be packing up my lab and leaving this place, seems this place is not as secure as I thought. Free me and return my equipment and I will tell you what you want to know and offer you some valuable items and we can part ways."
@he isn't lying he would be willing to honour the deal.
He is also a mad scientist types who has no regards for life and the animals in the next room Anatoli saw were all horribly injured from his experiments, starved and barely alive
Gossan, Warpriest of Irori

Yep. Gossan is not interested in freeing this man. He is a little unsure about acting as judge and executioner too though. Ideas?
I've no doubt the world is a better place without you running around doing what you wish with little regard for others or the pain you cause. I'll not choose to free you.
Arkanost
Arkanost breaks his stoic silence with a carefully put together monologue in an almost monotonous tone. (Jarringly different from his normal, chipper demeanor)
"I agree that we can not let him free. We have discerned his intention is to continue his research, and his research puts innocents in danger. The best course of action is to imprison him and hope for some sort of reformation. Unfortunately, we do not posses the time or equipment for that. Therefore I suggest we give him a few moments to make peace with whatever gods he chooses and be done with this. I do not like the option, but I do believe we have given what would constitute as a fair trial. I will carry out sentence if needed. If any would wish to leave, now would be the best time. I will catch up soon."
He then turns to the alchemist.
"I am sorry to say that you have proven to be too great a threat to those around you. Please take a moment to gather your thoughts and make peace."
"Your work has been of great value to the world of magic. For that I thank you. I will take it as a personal endeavor to protect your research and share it with the academic community. In this way your legacy will live on for future generations to benefit."

Sense motive: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (2) + 18 = 20 Crap SM rolls.
Done. Gossan punches the wizard in the head doing non-lethal damage and knocking him out. Now who is gonna baby sit him?
Lyaro Swordstar
"That sounds like a great idea, make him someone elses problem and hope they can contain him, at least we can warn them how dangerous he is." says Lyaro with a hint of hope at the solution
Arkanost
I can explain who he and how dangerous of a threat he poses is to the Magnimar authorities.
DireMerc
He teleported into to this room so it's safe to assume you can teleport out. You will take to take about an hour to study carefully the area to avoid any misshaps but you should be fine with only a 1% chance of a misshap the issue is how familiar are you with your destination? Can you scry magnimar?
Gossan, Warpriest of Irori
|
Right. Just teleport to the Span. That thing is unchanging, at least on a human's time scale.
Arkanost
"You guys watch him. I'll find someone and be back. Gossan, you might be faster, but I can't pummel him like you can."
He is deceptively fast with 50ft move speed.
He flashes a grin and runs off to find someone of authority in the town watch.

Sounds like a good time to sell any loot we have that we do not want to carry, and perhaps buy a few things we might need. Anyone have a loot list? We we want to do a split?

with a linguistics and spellcraft of 19 I can't fail on 5th level or lower spells with the DC 15 so here are the sixth level rolls
spellcraft and decipher: 8d20 ⇒ (4, 6, 16, 13, 19, 8, 14, 16) = 96
No failures.
Achren the Sculptor
Achren nods. "We can use these rooms as a fall-back position if we need to. He was mad, but could end up being useful to us."
Arkanost
"I'll do what I can to 'lock up' after we leave."
Once the party leaves, Arkanost will use warp metal to jam the door.

Two room remain in the area the menagerie (were an assortment of magical creatures are being kept in cages) and the greenery room. A sort of underground greenhouse with a river running trough were a large assortment of plants grow. The room even seems to have a small magical sun giving the room sunlight.
Many rare plants used as magical spell components and in alchemy are grown here.
DireMerc
A lot and a lot but the room is not safe.
Hundreds of planters and flowerpots in stacks and rows dominate this room, obviously once carefully organized but long since overgrown and neglected. Thick mats of thorny green vines climb the walls and ceiling, and a carpet of moss and roots covers the floor. A fountain on the east wall is carved to resemble an owl’s
head belching a stream of glowing blue water into a basin, and a squared ring of trenching filled with the same water dominates the center of the floor. Both are choked with lilies and other, less identifiable plants.

Anatoli looks the room over and nods and then casts summon monster from outside the room using it at level three so he can summon 1d3 small earth elementals and send them in earth gliding into the room to remove any threats or at least discover them.
