Mystery of the Keepers (Inactive)

Game Master DireMerc

Razmir the man known as the living god is making his move expanding into neighboring nations. It seems nobody can stop him as his power truly seems to be that of a god. A select few know the secret of his power and are taking steps to end his rule with the help of another who wields the same power as Razmir. Sazed Khaim a member of the old order of the keepers.

Houserules:

Casting: When casting a spell defensivly if you fail you do not automaticly lose the spell, rather you provoke an attack as you normally would for not casting defensive. If you are hit you must make a concentration check dc 10+damage taken if you fail this check you lose the spell.

Rolls:
Many rolls will be handled by the GM in secret.(don't worry, I don't fudge.)
Any result that can influence the character behavior will not be rolled open.
Rolls that will be handled by the GM:
Perception
Sense Motive.

if you make the check I will send you a pm or make a post and put it in a spoiler depending on the situation.

Sometimes I will roll Initiative others I will ask you to roll depending on the situation. In some situation (rarely) I will bypass init entirely and have you all go first and enemies second or have enemies go first and you all go after.

Combat rules:
I'm a fair GM, I dont roll combat in secret, I don't change results, I don't ignore bad calls from the characters.
Sometimes, character dies, but I'm not a player killer, if I think that an encounter will be easy handled, when it should be more challenging, I will make it a more challenging, if the party it's not prepared to face something, I will drop hints, if they insist... well killing one or two players never made me lack sleep...

Actions:
I'm a GM that do not punish the character for trying something new or cool, or even strange. Visual appealing actions are encouraged, the dc will of course depend on what are you trying, but you can try! If what you want to do is wicked cool, I can even bend the game mechanics to allow it! The most importat part is: Everyone have fun.

Posting Rate
If it could be done, I expect 1/day posting, if you can post more, it will really good.
During weekend, this rule does not apply. If you are able to post, great! But dont stress over this, everyone need some time to rest (In my case, I need time to play and DM :D on my tabletop games).

Level up
Aside from character creation, when you level up, if you want something not from core rulebook, you'll need to search it inside the game. basicly what you need to do is just show in game your character is searching for that knowledge. This rule is not meant to prohibit anything, I just don't like something like this: "Character always as a full caster, never picked up a sword in his entire life, and then he gain a new level and says: Master, I'll level up as a fighter now..."

I concur with DireMerc on this. Note that the dome is a hemisphere connected to the ground. You could summon anything with earth glide or maybe burrow in the dome with you and have it burrow or glide out. my society wizard has done it with an earth elemental.

I played a game once were we would have 1 on 1 matches between players (arena type game) my conjuration wizard would begin the fight by casting stone wall and then follow up by summoning earth elementals. Good times...As a note your familiar cannot use a summon spell for you either. He can only deliver touch spells or receive spells that only target yourself.

SPECIAL ABILITIES

Earth Glide (Ex)

A burrowing earth elemental can pass through stone, dirt, or almost any other sort of earth except metal as easily as a fish swims through water. If protected against fire damage, it can even glide through lava. Its burrowing leaves behind no tunnel or hole, nor does it create any ripple or other sign of its presence. A move earth spell cast on an area containing a burrowing earth elemental flings the elemental back 30 feet, stunning the creature for 1 round unless it succeeds on a DC 15 Fortitude save.

Earth Mastery (Ex)

An earth elemental gains a +1 bonus on attack and damage rolls if both it and its foe are touching the ground. If an opponent is airborne or waterborne, the elemental takes a –4 penalty on attack and damage rolls. These modifiers apply to bull rush and overrun maneuvers, whether the elemental is initiating or resisting these kinds of attacks. (These modifiers are not included in the statistics block.)

So round 1 you would cast the spell and at the beginning of round 2 it will appear and you can have it attack go ahead and post that round as well as well as your action for round 2.

Hmm your right that was one solid blow not 3. Rider has ac 25 and raptor has 18. By my count that rider had only taken one hit previously on your last turn and another one this turn. He's badly injured but not down quite yet although another good hit would drop him and he is stunned. The raptors fight to the death, they are intelligent and loyal.

Strangely Gossan does not need the amulets of mighty fist +1. He will offer to hold one of the wands of Cure Mod to use for the party.

"None of this is useful for me .. unless I get a raptor for a mount, which does not seem like a bad idea.." he looks away wistfully

Achren shrugs. "Take the wands. We can use the rest to trade, like Lyaro said." As he speaks he takes out a wand of his own and uses it to repair the tears in his armor.

He'll use his wand of Lesser Rejuvenate Eidolon to repair his suit. Minimum of 7 uses so I'll start with 7d10 and see where it gets me.

7 charges: 7d10 + 7 ⇒ (3, 3, 2, 2, 4, 4, 6) + 7 = 31 Ugh
4 charges: 4d10 + 4 ⇒ (9, 3, 8, 3) + 4 = 27 Almost there
3 charges: 3d10 + 3 ⇒ (5, 6, 6) + 3 = 20 Just a little over, not too much wasted

about that if your eidolon was at 0 doesn't that mean he was dismissed and you need to re-summon it?

"Hi! I'm Arkanost. So, we were going to go through the jungle. But it seems to be full of goblins. Do you know anything about the burnt area?"

No I do not know anything about the burnt out area portal but I can tell you it does not look any more friendly then the jungle. Anatoli says with a shake of his head.

Looking at it he can see the burnt out area looks to be the same as the place he was just at but after somekind of catastrophy. An alternate universe or a different point in time perhaps...

Oh, good call. He'll take a minute and re-summon the suit.

Achren nods at the door to the burnt region. "They look like the same area, just one burned and one not. I'd be willing to bet the burned place is just as dangerous as the jungle. And probably with more fire and smoke."

When you re-summon after it was destroyed (not dismissed) it comes back at half hp so you still need to heal but not as much

Actually I looked into it a bit more. If the eidolon is killed it cannot be re-summoned for 24 hours. However when the eidolon takes damage you can actually decided to sacrifice any number of your own hit points. Each hit point sacrificed this way prevents 1 point of damage done to the eidolon so you can keep him alive at 1 hp this way (lets say this is what you did)

I also want to mention that while you can explore the portals it is not necessary to do so you can also proceed further into the dungeon there is another door.

”The portals may simply be a means of keeping the complex stocked with dangerous creatures. Our information didn’t indicate that the artifact would be in a portal to another realm, but somewhere in the lower reaches of the dungeon,” Devyhn offers.

While looking at the green portal
"Excellent they were just a bit tough, we should go look for much more horrible monsters in the dungeon."
