I've been putting together an adventure for a while now and I would like to test it before I make my real life group play it.
I haven't GM anything on here before but I played play by post before on another site however the activity on that is low lately and most of the folk there still play 3.5 rather than pathfinder so I decided to try playing the game here instead.
Now the adventure would start level 1. 20 point buy for character stats.
Little intro to the adventure:
You walk along the streets of Absalom when suddenly with no warning, you suddenly hear the voice of a man inside your head."I have been watching you for some time. Your actions so far have been noticed and I believe you can help me. I am very wealthy and can reward you richly for your time and effort.Come to Gerald’s Rest and Revelry tomorrow morning to discuss arrangements. Be prepared for travel there is little time.
Gerald’s Rest and Revelry is an average-quality hostel in the market district. In addition to multiple performing stages and rooms for rent, the establishment incorporates a number of private rooms that have witnessed every sort of secret dealing. The private rooms are rumored to be magically protected against observation. The hostel is quiet when you arrive, with a lone bard playing for patrons enjoying breakfast. The host is a perky young half-elf who quickly recognizes you and welcomes you inside, ushering you up a short flight of stairs and into a balcony room that overlooks the stage below.
The host leads you to a second-floor room, partially open to the floor below and with an excellent view of the stage. The sounds of a lute carry above the faint din of breakfast. A number of chairs are arranged closest to the balcony’s edge, and a low table against the back wall of the room is laden with fruits and pastries.
A dark skinned middle-aged human with dark hair and neatly trimmed beard stands near the chairs. You notice he wears a ring on each finger made of varied metals, bronze, steel, silver ect...and five gold rings on each ear. He is apparently enjoying the musical performance. He turns as the door opens, gesturing to the table. "Please, help yourself. My name is Sazed Khaim, and we have business to discuss, which is always more pleasant on a full stomach. Once everyone has arrived I will begin."
If you interested leave a post here and don't hesitate to ask if you have questions.

I have an opening or two if anyone wants to join in. The group has just stopped for some downtime in Absalom so now is the perfect time for some new members.
Currently level 6.
16 000 starting gold.
The party's end game is to defeat Razmir who is an old enemy of the party's benefactor. The first leg was to beat Razmir's followers to an artifact that could have given him powerful divine magic to wield making him even more like a god.
The next step
Is to stop his followers from claiming an artifact called the staff of infinite wealth located in a fabled city of gold.

I'm possibly interested.
I have some questions though :
- What's the current party composition?
- Are you looking for something specific to complement this group?
- Other than 20 pt buy any other character creation rules/limits?
- Which sources are allowed? Any banned/restricted classes/archetypes/...
- Any houserules/changes I should be aware of?
- Expected posting rate?

Casting: When casting a spell defensibly if you fail you do not automatically lose the spell, rather you provoke an attack as you normally would for not casting defensive. If you are hit you must make a concentration check dc 10+damage taken if you fail this check you lose the spell.
Fumble: If you roll a natural 1 on your attack roll, make a dexterity check. If you get less than 10 you fumble. If you get more than 10 your attack simply misses very badly. If you roll a natural 20 you get your attack back, roll another attack roll!
Super crits: If you roll a natural 20 on a critical and when you roll another 20 to confirm this is a super crit, increase your weapons modifier by 1. (ex: X2 becomes X3)
Rolls:
Some rolls will be handled by the GM in secret.(don't worry, I don't fudge.)
Any result that can influence the character behavior will not be rolled open.
Rolls that will be handled by the GM:
Perception (when something is sneaking up on you)
Sense Motive. (when someone is lying to you)
if you make the check I will send you a pm or make a post and put it in a spoiler depending on the situation.
Sometimes I will roll Initiative others I will ask you to roll depending on the situation. In some situation (rarely) I will bypass init entirely and have you all go first and enemies second or have enemies go first and you all go after.
Combat rules:
I'm a fair GM, I don't roll combat in secret, I don't change results, I don't ignore bad calls from the characters.
Sometimes, character dies, but I'm not a player killer, if I think that an encounter will be easy handled, when it should be more challenging, I will make it a more challenging, if the party it's not prepared to face something, I will drop hints, if they insist... well killing one or two players never made me lack sleep...
Actions:
I'm a GM that do not punish the character for trying something new or cool, or even strange. Visual appealing actions are encouraged, the dc will of course depend on what are you trying, but you can try! If what you want to do is wicked cool, I can even bend the game mechanics to allow it!
Posting Rate
If it could be done, I expect 1/day posting, if you can post more, it will really good. During weekends, this rule does not apply. If you are able to post, great! But don't stress over this, everyone need some time to rest (In my case, I need time to play and DM my real-life tabletop games).
Level up
I am not actually tracking xp I just decide when the time to level up has come and let you know. Roll hp and re-roll a result of 1 and post result in ooc chat and put a description of what was gained this level.
Party is:
Male summoner(synthesis) 6
Male inquisitor 6
Male ranger 6
Male Monk 6
I don't allow anything 3rd party as a general rule. If you would like to request something just ask.
Your character is expected to be a member of the pathfinder society who has been undercover in the church of Rasmir for a few weeks.
| Gerald |
Merc, I currently play Crain in your other game.
I'm crushing on the brawler class right now, and I'd like to put forth a brawler submission, if you'd be interested. Thing is, is my mom is having surgery in Wednesday morning, so I'm pretty busy until then. After that, I shoudl have a bunch of time to create my submission Wednesday evening and Thursday day, while I'm sitting there with nothing to do.
If you want to fill up sooner, I understand, but if not, I'll get you something mid to end of week. Thanks.

I was thinking of making an Arcanist with the occultist archetype. Planning on providing battlefield support through summons and some other spells when necessary.
Going to roll Hp already, I'm assuming 1st lvl is max hp?
Hp roll: 5d6 ⇒ (5, 6, 1, 5, 4) = 21
reroll of 1: 1d6 ⇒ 3
I have a few questions still concerning what you said what/where our character needs to be:
You say the character has to have been undercover in the church of Razmir for a few weeks. To what extant? church follower, upcoming "clergyman", ...?
Was this as a mission from the pathfinder society, the group's benefactor or some other goal?
I was asking because, if he would be trying to double as a razmiran priest, he would have some skills/abilities/items that might be different and I might even take the False Focus feat to improve on his "act" ;)
Something concerning character creation:
How much would it cost to have extra spells scribed in my spellbook?
The normal costs state a fixed price per spell level and normally half that in fees for 'being allowed to use another wizard's spellbook to copy from'. I was wondering if he would get a discount on that as he might be able to get spells from the libraries/wizards of the Society? (Just trying to figure out how much money of my total would be going into that :))
Do you have a deadline on when you would like to have the characters done?
| DireMerc |
The players are currently in town selling loot getting new stuff ect...when they are done which should be soon they will go to a briefing and I'd like the new players to be ready to join the briefing. So another day maybe two.
When I say infiltrate I mean you joined the church as a new member and pretended to be a member for about 3 weeks and you managed to get some good intel but your cover was blown.
The job came from a venture-captain of the society.
Being a member of the society you earn favor points that you can spent for benefits with the society. One of them is getting access to spells from a members spellbook. Typically a new character starts with 1 favor point per level. You can spend 1 favor point to copy one spells from the core book free of charge and 3 to copy one spell not found in the corebook free of charge. (going of memory here but pretty sue that's right that's what I'm going with for now thought) without spending favor points the normal fees apply and I also double the normal fee for "exotic spells" (spells not found in the core). Only the fee to borrow the spellbook is doubled not the fee to write down the spell.
Arkon the Thunderer
|
Arkon the Thunderer is ready (Missing a few minor items)
Backstory is to be added yet, I have it just not written.
He is a fierce Kellid from the Tusk Mountains where where he was brought up as a tribal shaman and the totem animal was Dinosaurs.
He has been journeying and seeking challenges to the Dinosaur Spirits.
| Theorythmus |
Ok, no false focus then :)
Will look into the fact if I want to spend favor on spells like that, but I think I'll save it for other useful stuff :)
2 more questions :
- What is your opinion on Superior Summoning, if I use summon monster 3 to summon 1d3 monsters from Summon Monster 2 list, do I just get 1d3+1 creatures or do I only get the extra creature on a roll of 2 or 3?
- So any spell not found in the pathfinder core rulebook cost more to add to the spellbook. Does this also apply to the ones you get for free on level up?
Going to be building my character.
I hope you don't mind but I refrain from building an alias unless I get selected from a game. (Don't want to have to much unused aliases on my account :)) I will post the information in spoiler tags in this topic when I'm done with my character.

I will be choosing two new members from the 4-5 candidates I have now.
Try to include this in your background/ character design in some way.
You were contacted by a venture captain named Reginar who gave you some basic information about the cult of Razmir and how he is worried about them expanding into his territory in the town of Kassen, on the Nirmathas-Lastwall border. Reginar is concerned about the cult's influence and deeply worried about their ultimate goal. He informed you that, although not the only option, the best way to get inside the temple is to join the clergy.
After spending a bit of time observing the faithful and their "good works" (feeding the hungry and helping the poor while also extorting money from those that have some and bribing officials) you attended an indoctrination meeting at the Ranger’s Lament, a tavern across the street from the temple. Once inside, you were drugged and taken through a secret tunnel into the temple itself, where you were locked in a cell to await their first ceremony. Over the next few days you were slowly brought into the fold, and eventually sent out as an acolyte to prove your worth. The tasks assigned to you ranged from demeaning to criminal, and you had to find a way to accomplish your missions without getting into too much trouble or defying your morals.
Having completed a number of tasks, you were brought fully into the cult and allowed to roam the first level of the temple. It is here that you began to truly understand the inner workings of the cult and even explore some secret chambers below ground, but you found it difficult to obtain any evidence damaging enough to get the government involved.
After sneaking out for a meeting with Reginar, you made a plan to enter the second floor of the temple, where the quarters of the high priest were located, which required getting past some defenses including guards and some traps. Once on the second floor, the true depravity of the cult became evident. Kidnapping, torture, drugs and more were daily practice for the cultist it seemed and all under the nose of the local authorities.
Unfortunately soon after your break-in on the second floor you found yourself forced to kill several "clerics". You tried to gather as much evidence as possible before the entire temple was alerted to your treachery. The investigation culminated in the chambers of Iramine, where the you learned the whereabouts of the the leader of the cult and their true goals for the town and even the country. After a perilous escape, you took the evidence you gathered to Reginar and the town authorities, who promptly raided the temple and imprisoned or expelled the remaining cultists, and tore down the building. From that point forward, the cult of Razmir was forever banned in Tamran.
Iramine it seems had left to take part of an expedition to the Isle of Terror to look for the city of Xin-Grafar the former capital of the Tar-Baphon the whispering Tyrant. This city was the site of the battle between Aroden and Tar-Baphon were Aroden struck him down before he was reborn as the whispering Tyrant. Apparently as part of some bargain with the cult of the whispering way the cult of Razmir has been given the location of the city with notes on how to gain access to it. Notes that you now have a copy of.
Arkon the Thunderer
|
Till I get his back story written up.
Arkon is brash and loud but he can be subtle and cunning and thus he was able to be part of the group that infiltrated the church.
The church of Razmiran to him represents a particularly interesting challenge as it will require more than just his might. This ramine is his current link to finding and stopping what the cult is up to in Xin-Grafar.
He is a great tank and front line fighter in his huge form, stealthy in his tiny forms. He can also heal and summon monsters to aid in combat.
| Lyall |
Lyall is arrogant, haughty, with little respect for those he deems as lesser beings, though he will deign it appropriate to assist them with the least amount of personal effort possible when it suits him.
In other words, he fit right in, and it took very little effort to infiltrate the cult.
Lyall will not be bringing summoning to the party, despite its use, due to the annoyingness of having to give orders to MORE units. Instead, he will emphasize a mix of damage, defense, buffs, and debuffs, while being a surprisingly decent archer.
As for his personal motivation, Lyall, for all his laziness and arrogance, still does not suffer evil to happen on his watch. He'll instead make sure it happens on someone else's watch and that the field is set to make that someone else win.

I am looking for a player who would be interested in playing a dhampir character. A child born from a woman who was turned into a vampire while pregant. Kinda like Blade from the Blade movies.
Gender-class and equipment is up to you and we can work toghter on the background but that part is at least partially already decided.
The character has lived most of his/her life in Caliphas in Ustalav
Level is 11 and starting gold is 100 000 gp.
