Tools -> Options -> General (but it should open on this tab)

You should be able to tick pick extra sourcebooks there.

I don't have any experience with mages - can't offer any advices on that sadly.

Edit: Dam ninjas :P

There's a whole slew of problems guns won't fix that a magician would be handy for. I built this character to handle a few of them. Feel free to use him for inspiration if you decide to splash in some mystic with your adept.

I'll be unsteady posting the rest of the week. My wife's grandmother died this morning. This is the widow of her grandfather who died on new years eve. Also, I have to travel for work Thursday and Friday. Yay 2014. :(

My condolences

Updated my sheet to take advantage of Way of the Adept. Comments are welcome !

Edit: Thought I give a TL:DR version of what Stag is good at.

Infiltration is is strongest skill - it got the highest pool and it gives out penalties to detect him both by sound and vision. Perception is a close second - hearing especially. Combined with a decent shadowing, disguise and palming pool he should be able to get the drop on most things that need to die - or stalk and find those whom need to be found. He has a track pool of 5 to aid in this, as well as the option to track by scent at a +2 modifier.

He prefers to get his information trough stakeouts or third party operatives. If that proves insufficient he has a workable pool of social skills, with intimidate being his strongest suit. He is a decent driver, but not exceptional. Likewise - his car is good but not top segment.

If combat is on the day order Stag has a multiple of small arms to deal with his opposition. high velocity P93 and a Predator IV with SnS for tough targets. An scoped up AK-97 when range is more preferable to discretion and silenced HK 227-X for when the case is reversed. He has a ceramic knife for close encounters as well as a concealable handarm - both hard to detect in a metal scanner.

His choice of powers are mostly passive skill and attribute improvements as well as some fun utility picks in Linguistics and Nimble fingers. He got some additional oompfh from his condition - but he prefers to only use those in dire need. Sufficient to say, he will likely not need a trip to the doctor after a run.

Dorjan's the classic shoot you from afar sniper. He prefers to get on a very tall place, in a hidey hole, in advance, and then wait, not sleeping, until time, and then provide cover fire for whatever is going on. Once the rest of the team leaves, he polices his area, puts his sniper rifle in his pack, and parachutes from the high place to a predefined spot for pick up or self extraction. Almost always at night obviously.

Male

We're a sneaky lot aren't we?
Lyst isn't very combat focused with only 10 dice in his pistol pool. He is, however, well equipped, and skilled at many of the subtle arts, including negotiation, con, disguise, intimidation, hacking, lock-picking, forgery, infiltration, and palming.
The one major downside I see of this is that the Karma system seems to favor the highly specialized over the general. It will be expensive to reach specialist level in any of my skills while the specialists won't have any trouble shoring up their shortcomings.

ps - Sorry to hear about the loss.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

JD

Peck talks, alot and usually is pretty good at getting what he wants when he does.

For those occasions that talking doesn't work he does know how to use the pistol he carries. Outside of that he has the skills he needs to survive on the streets but knows he needs help from others when talking will not work.

Bob Chen:

Has little experience running in the shadows, he is mostly a go to guy when runners need something forged, be it false ID, authorization paper, etc... He decent knowledge of finance also make him a valuable resource for keeping tabs on the money. For all forgery involving electronics he needs to help of an other pro. The other thing about him is that he is an artist in every sense of the term, his field of specialty is painting.

While a basic skill in infiltration his exceptional Agility give him an average base.

In terms of combat his only expertise is in hand to hand where is many years of training help im excel in the discipline

Cool, thanks for the heads up on the Chummer issue guys. Worked like a charm.

Been a little hectic here but things have smoothed out. Should have Mr. Smiley up and posted absolutely no later than thursday, and very likely tomorrow, though tonight is possible too :)

Mr. Smiley being a magician that focuses on debuffing and crowd control spells like Chaotic World and the like. Probably won't have a single attack spell. He's going to keep with the stealthy theme we have going, but it'll be through Invisibility, Stealth, Mask and the like. Outside of his illusion spells he's likely to stand out a little.

Male

I would recommend at least one LOS mana spell.

@mdt: I am sorry for your loss and may you have a safe trip.

BTW: Armour damage rules will not be used.

And did I miss any questions that haven't been answered?

Thanks.

And only when you plan to start.

Has everyone submitted their characters?

And I am actually working on setting up the gameplay thread right now.

EDIT: It is up now.

Male

I'd like to know if anyone will be using any techniques vs less vulnerable targets, such as Killing Hands. If not, I may drop a point of edge to get it.

I still need to finalize my character and get it posted. I will try to do that in the next few days, have a few things going on after work today & tomorrow.

JD

Still finalizing a character too.

No rush just putting it up.

Male Romanian Night One (Elf) Wired Adept

Dorjan's typical response to 'non vulnerable' things is to load in a 40mm APDS round and fire it through the 'non vulnerable' target's eye.

Male

"Immune to weapon damage" probably doesn't care about how many mm your rounds are.

Male Romanian Night One (Elf) Wired Adept

That would be where you buy hollow points, and fill them with whatever it's vulnerable to. Silver, holy water, etc. Or you have a priest bless your bullets. Or you melt down a gold crucifix and use it for bullets...

What weapon do you have that fires 40mm rounds?

Male Romanian Night One (Elf) Wired Adept

Sorry, that should have read 40 caliber, not 40 mm.

I was wondering if i missed something there...

& you know I have been trying to figure out a good baseline for the Ammo used in Shadowrun but it is odd.

I keep thinking that perhaps Ammo has been standardized allowing ease of Ammo manufacturing but what rounds make sense.

I am thinking:
HMG: 12.7mm NATO
Sniper/Sporting Rifles/MMG: 7.62mm NATO
Assault Rifles/LMGs: 5.56mm or 5.7mm NATO
Heavy Pistols: .45
Light Pistols: 9mm NATO/.40
Hold-Outs: .38 Special/.380

Submachine Guns are throwing me off though... Maybe one of the subvarients of the NATO Rounds

Was all excited cuz I thought I had finally finished the bugger, and then realized I don't have knowledge skills/languages...so, that'll be something for tomorrow, but here is the stats on Mr Smiles.

As to the above question...I've manabolt. So having another person with the ability to hurt "immune" type things might be handy.

Bonded weapon foci knife and SnS ammo here - both have decent efficiency against the Immune to Normal Weapon Crowd : )

Male

I ended up going with a bonded weapon foci as well.

Not gonna lie... I love the concept of SnS Ammo...

Male

Uh oh...
Everyone, buy insulated armor!

Got some - but didn't go all the way up to rating 6 (to many slots!) Might come to regret that. But hey - we can always shoot first ^^

Male

Er, wait. Nonconductive. I get those mixed up.

Thanks! I'll have to catch up.

Uhm, a juggernaut is an armored armadillo that's about 20 feet tall, and 50 feet long, and it usually takes a panzer division to take them down due to the armor they pack on their sides.

These guys really have 15 puke normals on at night, and 25 cyber enhanced 50 foot long guard animals on day time?

Or was that Fixer's idea of a joke?

Male

Glad I souped up my commlink. Time to brush up on the matrix.

So for things like negotiation, is there some kind of "aid another", or do I just cede to the alpha male in the group?

OoC Knowledge with a little in universe knowledge:

I never stated the number of personnel. And he was using the term to imply Milspec Equipped Cyber Enhanced Soldiers. I built them if you really wanna go against them. They have, I believe, Ballistic Armour of 15 & Impact of 10. Usually equipped with Vindicator Miniguns.

Black Adder is a Military Supply company that uses numbers over gear and the 25 are part of the Copperheads. Full Cybernetic Soldiers equipped with Armoured Cyberlimbs and Milspec gear. The Day time is the only time the researchers are in the building the Copperheads are there to stop extractions.

They also have so many redundancies for their data that even if you guys manage to secure the data and destroy the entire facility you will only have set back their research but not caused them to lose any data. Something Mister Fixer, nor his client, knows In-Universe.

Huh - and I was starting to look for the Availability of a Thor Shot !

If it makes you feel better they probably have a equivalent missile that can be fired from a Fighter Jet.

Male Elf Adept |HP 10/10 Stun 10/10|Initiative 11 (2)|Ballistic 6 Impact 4|Defence 8 Parry +3 Dodge +1 Gymnastic +2|Comp 6 Judge 7 Lift 4 Mem 4|Perception 10 +3 Sight +5 Listen +2 Scents

Nah - I don't think there are anything like them left since nukes stopped working : )

For the low low price of 1200000000 nuyen and with the simple availability of 144F and an ammo cost of 1200000 you get a 200 radii of 'nothing lives, nothing stands - just a crater' :) [ref p160 in WAR!]

Okay the missiles I have for them are somewhat equivalent of a Freya and Loki Missiles. The Loki-esque one is designed to be fired from a Truck and the Freya is a Air-Ground Anti-Bunker or Infantry Missile/Rocket.

Male Elf Adept |HP 10/10 Stun 10/10|Initiative 11 (2)|Ballistic 6 Impact 4|Defence 8 Parry +3 Dodge +1 Gymnastic +2|Comp 6 Judge 7 Lift 4 Mem 4|Perception 10 +3 Sight +5 Listen +2 Scents

The Freya missile merely costs 150000 and annihilates everything in a 20 meter radii :D (There are missiles that are not rocks dropped from orbit in WAR! also - if you want the stats? But I sure as hell hope noone would need them :P)

Well these are designed for things like the EVO Reckoner, MiG-63, and SU-41. But the warheads could easily be used to blow apart a facility if they are armed and set-off.

Male Romanian Night One (Elf) Wired Adept

Note there' s a reason I asked out of character, not in character. :) Dorjan doesn't have Awakened Threats or anything as a skill. So not mix of IC and OOC, purely OOC question.

I was giving some IC Knowledge there as well. Mainly Black Adder's primary business.

Male

Sooo... aid another?

-Posted with Wayfinder

Male Romanian Night One (Elf) Wired Adept

Ah, ok. THought you were saying I was mixing IC and OOC in my question. :)

Not really necessary here but yes you can aid another in Negotiations.

Male

What's the mechanic on that, or where is it listed?
I ask because I'm not used to simply taking the price Mr Johnson is offering.
