Ah - but that is not the real problem.
You see - the banshee's are HMHVV I positive - which along other minor things such as odd culinary habits include Regeneration (cuts down the medical bill real nice!) and that blocks implants below Delta-grade. Shapeshifters (and a few others I think) has this problem aswell.
Some Infected possess the Regeneration power, which makes
implantation very difficult. Modern science can circumvent certain
of these restrictions using specially-formulated materials, drugs,
and allergenic surgery—for a price. In practice, most Infected
can accept any implant (cyberware, bioware, nanoware) without
difficulty, provided they can find a street doc or facility willing
to perform the surgery—double the Interval for the Availability
Test when looking for a Medical Provider that will work on the
Infected. Infected with the Regeneration power may only accept
deltaware implants. Genetech augmentations of any sort are not
available to the Infected at all, as the retrovirus in their systems resists
and rewrites any other attempt to alter the character’s genetic
code. The Infected’s condition also renders them immune to all
known antiretroviral drugs and treatments.
My current plan is to roll with my stealthy adept - but I'm not set in stone just yet

Mister Fixer |

Ouch... but mainly I am saying you better give a good reason why your character is buying something like that.
On second thought go ahead and waste your money on that Cosmetic Implant to make your Ork feel more Manly. I want to see how you react when you realize that would have been better spent on Ammo.
Speaking of which: Spare Clips need to be seperated out per gun they are for.

Killer. Should have something up by tomorrow. If you're familiar with the Thief games I'm basing the character off Garret, specifically when played on the higher difficulties. So I avoid killing people as a point of pride, but will if it's necessary and won't begrudge others being blood thirsty maniacs.

JDragon_ITTS |

I'm looking at doing an Elf Adept, Face character.
Will not be much use in a gun fight, but hopefully will not get in the way and should be able to at least protect himself.
Working on getting him entered in the HL. Had to dig out the character sheet from 2008. (dam didn't realize it had been that long since I played)

Here's my rough draft. Haven't determined gender or name or background yet. I'm very rusty making these characters. Anyone noticing anything I screwed up please let me know. :)
The character is a sniper wired physical adept. Good at being sneaky, getting into position, and noticing people walking up on them while they waiting. They can stay awake 2 days straight waiting for a target, but they're just as good at using other types of firearms besides the sniper rifle. They doesn't break into places, they disguise their way past.
Again, I may have missed something, I'm rusty.

mdt |

LOL,
Sorry, thought it was by availability. :) Adjusted, but I'll upload a new PDF after I do name/etc.
Speaking of which :
1=Female
2=Male
random: 1d2 ⇒ 2
Male it is.
1=Taller
2=Average
3=Shorter
Random: 1d3 ⇒ 3
Random: 1d10 ⇒ 9 cm (wow, really short, 1.81m tall)
1=Fatter
2=Average
3=Skinnier
Random: 1d3 ⇒ 2 74 kg (90 * 92.5%)

Rigger.
Honestly, hackers always seem to slow the game down, and usually you can get around them if you've got firepower, stealth or vehicles.
When I used to run, the PCs would hire NPC hackers to run overwatch, and pay them a cut so the GM could just roll a few dice and give us results.

JDragon_ITTS |

Here are the basics Peck.
Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Right now I still have 14bp for cash to get gear and such, which I will try to get done soon.

Mister Fixer |

I vote for 1a. Looks B.A. and can be helpful for a plan I have. NOTE: mdt expect another PM shortly.
Also the 2nd looks a little to feminine even for an elf. (kidding... Somewhat...)
@JD: I like your character so far. But really Bob O'Riley? Really... You are the third person I know of to use that name for a Beat Cop Contact.
P.S.: I now have that song in my head. Expect my revenge.

JDragon_ITTS |

I agree 1a is the best of the three.
@MF - Sorry about that, just kinda came to me as I was working on filling in details. I can change it if you like, I'm not attached to it.
Glad to hear the character looks ok, I got to play a slightly different version of him in a couple RL sessions over 5 years ago. I had fun with him and he's different from my normal shoot first, shoot second and then maybe ask questions characters I normally play. Hopefully he will be able to be a productive member of the team.

Mister Fixer |

Oh no it is just the fact that that name has appeared in every "Modern" game I have played in.
Also that CrimSIN might become a double edged sword in one of the Missions available fairly early on...
EDIT: Oh his name is Peck! With an E! For some reason I read that as Puck and had that image in my head.
On the pictures: I also must say that the Gun in #1 is pretty cool though maybe better for a Modded Gun than a store bought version.

Mister Fixer |

Oh no. If anything it will help with the mission, though it will make the final part a bit more difficult.
Also based on the skills and such I am guessing your character will have loose ties to the Yakuza?
EDIT: Also to anyone with a Beat Cop, Bartender, Club Host, and similar please include the organization they are a part of.

JDragon_ITTS |

Ok, well then I will keep it. Means I will have to make lees changes to the background I had from one of my previous uses of the character.
As for the Yaks, no not really. In fact they really don't care for him and I actually found another Negative quality that fits well with the above mentioned background.
Here is a version of the background from 2008. I will be making some changes to it, but it will be something to work from.
Angelo “Peck” Rollins
Background:
Very few people these days would say Angelo or Peck to the few that really know him; has had a hard life. Growing up he wanted for little and had parents that truly loved and cared for him. His mother stayed home taking care of him and his two older sisters, while his father was a mid level executive for a AA corp.
He learned at an early age he had the ”gift of gab” as his mother called it and used it to his advantage all through out school. Allowing him to get away with all the normal teenage pranks and indulgences with nothing more than an occasional stern word from his parents or teachers. Things changed his first year of college when he got caught trying to pull a major con on the dean of the school. This is where he picked up his criminal SIN.
Even in his time in prison was not that bad, for prison. He quickly has a small group of meta’s swayed and under his control, keeping him safe and sound. He was popular with most of the inmates as his skills could get them almost anything and usually at lower costs than the Yaks were charging for contraband. This was his first encounter with the Yakauza, but not his last. A few of his employee / friends were attacked and even killed but the Yaks could never get that close to him. After finishing his shortened sentence, for excellent behavior; well that’s what the reports said, he returned to the free world looking forward to going home.
His arrival home was not what he expected, while his sisters and even mother were happy to see him, his father would have nothing to do with him and allowed him to only stay one night at home before kicking him out, telling him to never come back. This was a hard blow to him, but he had survived prison so he knew we could get by on his own.
The next few years were a blur as he started his work in the shadows using a few contacts he had gained while in prison to get started. As time went on he developed more skills and refined his ability to sway people to his line of thinking by words alone. Before long he was living better than he had when he was at home and most days didn’t have to work at all or at most just had to have a conversation with someone to bring them around to his employer’s view.
His first big score was a con of pure genius and took balls of steel to pull off. On a rainy Saturday night he walked in to a Yak counting house and in a matter of five minutes with out even pulling his gun talked the crew in to handing over the full 150,000 nuyen that had come in during the weekend which he calmly walked out the front door with. It was this deed along with a sizeable donation and his reputation as a talker that got him invited to join the local chapter of SCAM. It struck him as a bit odd and not really his bag, but being a man of vision saw the advantages in having a group of like-minded individuals to work with.
With a few weeks he was a member, having passed the background checks and made the oath needed to join. His time as a member of SCAM has been profitable and he has developed his skills even further, adding new tricks and tact’s to take when running a con. He has nothing specific against the Yaks, but no love for them and any chance to make their life difficult brings an odd joy to him.
Description:
Peck is a poster boy for the elven race, standing just short of 2 meters tall, with light blue eyes and soft golden hair. He is always dressed to impress even when making a quick run out to pick up take out Chinese food. For business he wears his suit unless he’s expecting to be shot at. On those rare occasions he’ll opt for his lined coat for easier clean up.
Contacts:
Aside from his smooth talking abilities Peck’s biggest strength is his contacts. He does everything he can to keep them happy and make sure their name never comes up in sensitive conversations. To that end he keeps his contact list up to date with important details including tidbits for possible blackmail (hopefully never needed). This information is safely stored in his perfect memory.
I'll work on getting the details on Bob and my other contacts as well.

Ok, I think I'm finally done. Dorjan Albescu, former special forces sniper, now Seattle Runner.

Finally found the file with my char on! Here is the backstory - might start to rework it later on...
Anshári 'Stag' Moreaux
Then the blessed year 2164 came, and the Matrix crashed once more and Anshári's old nemesis was forever gone. There was finaly an opportunity to settle down without having to be prepared to run within months. The first two years after the crash they still moved frequently around the country unaware of their good luck, but an (un)lucky evening saw Anshári getting busted for a minor crime. He got hauled over to the Lone Star station were he fully expected to be shot or worse, but after the sheriff ran a search on his biometrics he only murmured something about "SINless scum". The following two days was the happiest time Spook, as he now was know, spent in locked up.
Since '66 he is residing in Seatle, and since '67 he has a permanent lease on a 98 square meter apartment in a walled community in the suburbs. With new and uncommon stability in his life, he looked for a better way of sustaining his and his sister unique lifestyle then ripping people from the streets every week. As luck had it they managed to cut a deal with one of the local employees of a bloodbank, supplying nice Y for fresh blood.
*Currently uses the alias Robert Weaver - but prefer his runner name 'Stag'
*Has a sister, Lake (Lindebrand Moreaux) that depends on him for essence
*Both siblings have distinctive snow white hair. Stags is about shoulder length and Lakes is far longer.
*Infected & turned ~30 years ago
*Lived in Seatle for~6 years
*Calm and composed, very well mannered most of the time. Slightly to reserved
*Turns of his wireless gear as soon as he isnt using that capacity
*At the community, it is widely known that Lake suffer from a severe genetic disorder and need expensive medicine, explaining why the fridge is locked with three lockpads and a maglock.
*It is also widely know that Lake is a goddess when it comes to cakebakeing. Sadly her disorder makes her unable to enjoy the fruits of her labour. She is well liked since she instead shares the cake with the community.
*There have been occasions where guests offered a really delicious cake have found the siblings looking at the meal with hungry eyes. The few people who know their true secret have sometimes wondered if it really is the cake they are looking at. Stag and Lake insists that the cake is the centre of their attention.
*The apparent features an old school bakery oven and equipment for cake production.
*The liquor carbine is stocked with quality brandy. They are for the infrequent guests, since brandy have a long shelf life. Likewise most food products that isn't soy based or used for cakes are canned or similar long life products.
*Sometimes the siblings are overcome with temptation and decide to share a cake. It is a few blissful minutes of cake consumption followed by a few hours spent bent over the toilet expelling surprising amount of mass. Usually followed by one or more exclamations of "Worth!".
Just noticed there are some less serious elements in the story, but I like it - both because I appreciate the easy humour and because it takes some of the edge of the gritty shadowrun world. I could be persuaded to exclude those elements if they are found disruptive.
I've got one question for our Fixer: would you consider us picking up the Way of X adept positive qualities? They are in the Way of the Adept book - I'll post the one I'm interested in here (there are one for artisans, warriors, athletes, speakers, burnouts and sneaky guys). They basically cost X BP and makes some thematically appropriate powers cost less Power Points and provide some extra bonuses on a small number of initiations. For example, The Invisible Way improves the Masking initiation and allows Traceless Walk to cost 0.75 pp instead of 1pp.
Cost: 10 BP
Spies and thieves of the highest order, the adepts who stalk
along the Invisible Way are not to be underestimated. Characters
with this Quality may purchase the following powers at a 25 percent
discount (rounding as normal), selecting one power for every two
Magic points: Cloak, Enhanced Perception, Facial Sculpt, Improved
Ability (Physical Skills), Freefall, Great Leap, Improved Senses,
Melanin Control, Nimble Fingers, Rush, Traceless Walk. In addition,
they receive a +1 to Initiate grade for purposes of the Masking and
Flexible Signature techniques.
In a similar vein, would you allow me to pick up Nasty Vibe (p114 Runners Companion) without the Changeling quality? They are normally available to SURGED characters and anyone whom is a metavariant (like mdts darkelf).
@mdt Hmm - I would put my vote on the picture you picked, since it has healthy similarities with Blade (similar glasses, shaven over the ear - a little longer hair though)

Lessah |

Knife? Edged thing? Sharpened sheet of metal? ... I'll stop now ... :P
Looked trough your sheet for inspiration - are you aware of the fact that your armour is currently messing with your Agility ? (and if you got some spare essence and Y, look into the Muscle Toner bioware - one of the best all around improvements for shooters)
Edit: On a more constructive note - I've found animal species or mundane objects that have a decent (but not to obvious) connection to the characters area of expertise work well. Hence my guy, whom is stealthy and fleet footed, is called 'Stag' since they are rather reclusive animals.

mdt |

Yeah, the armor he's currently wearing is his 'OMG I have to go in instead of shooting' so he's layering long coat and form fitting armor. If he's sniping, he only wears the form fitting.
Hmm, animals... anything leap out as a one hit one kill animal? :)

Mister Fixer |

I don't have Way of the Adept so I am afraid that is a no go. Though I think I remember seeing something similar in Street Magic.
And Reaper... Oh dear...
Wolfs are known to go straight for the Throat which is pretty much one hit, one kill.
@mdt: Have you also looked into the SecureTech PPP Stuff from Arsenal?
Also on Armour: As long as it is reasonable you will not suffer any bulk/encumbrance from it.

Lessah |

Okay - such a shame - it is a useful book for adepts (hence the name :P). I think geas are in SM, they also lower pp cost but doesn't have the other little fun perks
Just going to restate another question I had: In a similar vein, would you allow me to pick up Nasty Vibe (p114 Runners Companion) without the Changeling quality? They are normally available to SURGED characters and anyone whom is a metavariant (like mdts darkelf).
