I did get the potion, if you scroll down, I also put where we got things in the notes, so if they aren't identified right away, we can let you know where they were found.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Stone, it is a longsword. Otherwise I would let you use it.
Also, we didn't take the time to gather anything on the first floor of the fort except the throne room. :)
Anybody got any thoughts on the applications for Giantslayer? Or are we leaving it open for a bit?

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

Leave Giantslayer open a bit and let someone besides Szacha get a word in. ;) I want to warm Ragnir up a bit again anyway ;). Not too many of them put backgrounds in.

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

I like Szacha, Agna (The female dwarf sorc) and Janek. They seem to be the only ones that have a background thought out, and aren't the "special snowflake" type.

Elektra Stardancer |

Honestly I am adverse to those weird combos, but tbh the idea of a lonely eidolon ... somehow got close to me. Storytelling wise. The numbercruncher in my head just sees the clouds of possible problems on the horizon.
But I agree all three have so far have given a decent pitch. I have to dig deep into the backstory, but my little baby daugther felicitas elektra is sick so I have no head for it atm.
I would like the bard and either Agna or Janek, or if one... sigh it gets even more difficult.
What do you think are dwarves more like scotsmen, with kilts and bagpipes,
or like bavarian germans gruff but hardworking.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Hey the scots are gruff and hard working too. :)
I am thinking Szacha, Agna, and Janek, so far.

Brandark Plainswalker |

I would like one more day, until we make a decision.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Well I will spoiler my choices until everyone has their say. :)
Agna, Choice 1.
Szacha Choice 2.
Janek, Choice 3.

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

1. Agna
2. Tinker
3. Szacha

Elektra Stardancer |

I will need till tonight.
The funny part is.. I like the new ratman wizard more than the dwarven. Why? Somehow I think it has some unique flavor and I think we will be happier with a buffer than a blaster.

GM Mazra |

The score so far:
Agna 4
Janek (Tinker) 6
Szacha 8
This system only works if you are using the same three candidates. If you add another candidate, then that changes the math. You could say a no pick is a four. But let's say Elektra picks the Ratfolk as a 1, the Ratman would get a 13 score and not be selected anyway.
You need to be making your decisions on the same three candidates and go from there.

Elektra Stardancer |

I think I will cast my lot now.
So far each application has his merits and flaws.
I will go Runa, Janek, Szacha.
The funny part is the final decision to go Runa was her gender!
I learned the hard way sometimes it is wise to have booth genders.
I do not like Runas spezialisation. Mainly not because I do not like evocation, honestly I do and one of my fondest memories was my gnome evoker. But he could shine because the damage output of the group was mediocre at best. And saying mediocre is VERY generous.
But we have brutal melee dps.
For Ulfgard?
Also would you say it is better to go Heavy shield (counting as light) or going quickdraw light shield.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Elektra, I would use the quickdraw light.
Use the shield while getting in close, then hammering the crap out of things using 2 hands. :)
Edit, I am just waiting for the place where I can get a lance charge in. :)

Brandark Plainswalker |

Mazra, just a point about the move and attack in a surprise round.
Although it is a moot point, it can be done, as part of a charge.
from CRB, page 198
If you are able to take only a standard action on your turn, you can still charge, but you are only allowed to move up to your speed (instead of up to double your speed) and you cannot draw a weapon unless you possess the Quick Draw feat. You can’t use this option unless you are restricted to taking only a standard action on your turn.

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

No worries, it was just a good roll ;) I figure by the time Garrath snaps out of it, with his movement speed, he'll be back in Sandpoint. He'll buy drinks

GM Mazra |

Cool! On the move and attack in the Surprise Round, my request going forward is that you just remind of that specific Charge rule if that is your action. Thanks. Since I have not moved the Demon Dog 1, I will Retcon that Garrath finished off Demon Dog 1. It looks Orik will try to fight the other Demon Dogs with Elektra and Stone's aid.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Was at work when I noticed it, and didn't have access to my books. :)
By the time I got home, it was well past, so that is why I said a moot point.
Garrath, it might take me a bit, I have to stop and grab the horses, then I will meet you there. ..

Brandark Plainswalker |

hey, if it was a spell, or a SLA, I would have been fine. :(
as it is, shades of monty pythons. . "Brave. . Brave. . . Sir Robin"

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

If the RNG would have given me anything other than a 1....

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

Wouldn't we be running in random directions at each intersection? ;) Might save Garrath a trip to Sandpoint.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Well, I did remember the rules right, while at work.
Run: A character can run for a number of rounds
equal to his Constitution score on the local scale without
needing to rest. See Chapter 8 for rules covering extended
periods of running.

Elektra Stardancer |

I have a question for you. I might overreact but ... this just happened in another pbp. Group: Saranrae Paladin, Saranrae Cleric, Investigator LG follower of Torag, Cleric of the wasp goddess and a new wizard..... a Mage. Who has pulled a few dumb stunts in the past. Whose player has pulled some of the very dumbested stunts in my whole gaming career. And I have seen some mightly Dumb ones, but ...
The situation
And yes in a patrol in the kosovo one of squad mates joked about throwing a life granade into a public meeting and even pulled it out from his belt. We did put him in the stockade and he was quitely send home.

Brandark Plainswalker |

I would say that mage needs his attitude adjusted after you are clear of the hostiles. There was no reason for him to just unload a spell like that on innocents.
I think the paladin should have words after you are safe.

Garrath Tricks the Giants |

You can always put it to him like this; He took action because the "innocents" *MIGHT* have done something in the past, so he attacked them. The paladin just witnessed the mage doing something evil and despicable, so shouldn't the Paladin by rights be able to attack the mage because he might have done something like that in the past, has done something like that now, and *MIGHT* do something like that in the future? Everyone might have done something wrong in the past...
Sorry to see you've got one dumb magus in your group...

Elektra Stardancer |

Honestly I have been following for over one year now, and he has been done some of the craziest stunts I have ever seen!!!! Happily not always in games I played
-Kingmaker: Killing robbers after their surrender by just snap his neck.
Attack a Monster with 3 times higher CR than the party after being told the party will retreat.
-Skull and Shackles: Trying to sneak into the captains cabin
Try to attack Master scourge. In full daylight. On deck where everyone saw him.
- Carrion Crown: Threatening a smith to burn his shop down if he not answers the questions he was asking. In the middle of a city.
The list goes on...

Brandark Plainswalker |

From the sounds of it, this guy is Chaotic Neutral with Evil tendacies.

Elektra Stardancer |

Yup. And his chars are .... Neutral or chaotic good.
And I do not mean true neutral ... I mean neutral good. I think after this episode we have one less murder hobo in our party.

Brandark Plainswalker |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

None of your descriptions of his actions fall under the good category.
If I were the DM, I would be forcing alignment changes.
But if you vote him/her out, even better.

Brandark Plainswalker |

Question, those arrows that Garrath found.
Are they are Alchemical Silver?? as pure silver doesn't exist anymore ?
Another question, that MWK Longbow that the bugbear had, is it a strength bow, and if so, what is the strength value ?

GM Mazra |

Yes. It is Alchemical Silver, even though the PRD shows both types. Going forward when I refer to Silver weapons, I will mean Alchemical Silver with all the pluses and minuses that material imposes.
The AP did not indicate the strength pull of Bruthazmus' mwk comp. longbow. I think it should be a +4, so it is a +4.

I'm running a Wrath of the Righteous Campaign (well, two actually), and the cleric in the first table had to retire, right at the beginning of the campaign. I'm looking to replace her, and I've got three submissions here:
One of them is good, but I'd like to open it up to anyone here, since I know you all would be better than good. It's a slot open for a healer, preferably of a divine nature.

Oh rats. I would love to apply but I am also running a Wrath of the Righteous PbP on the boards, and they are about 2/3 thru the first book, so it would not be right to apply.

Garrath, how deep into the story are you ?
