Do me a favor and keep all out of character chatter to this thread. Dice rolls are okay in gameplay, but let's try and keep the gameplay reading like a story. On that subject, let's stick to third person past tense as much as possible.
Ex: Adam raised his sword over his head, shouting, "By the Power of Grayuskull!
That's reiterated in the Posting Rules, which are now up in the campaign info tab.

First things that come to mind before we get moving on the actual game:
De-Man, we still need to figure out what you've been up to recently, and/or if you ended up attached to someone other than the Sorceress. Also, if you can make a profile for De-Man, that'd be great.
Lycana, you said you're working on a few more details...?
Dare, still waiting on your final stuff, but you knew that.
Polgara, your BG stuff is pretty much good to go, but at first glance, your crunch might need some refinement. What jumped out at me is that we're not using the Mythic Flaws. We're using the revisions to the Mythic rules found here, among which is ditching the Flaws as character choices. If you guys end up with such weaknesses, it'll be for story reasons, and I'll let you know. I'm also having a heck of a time telling your feats apart from your class abilities - which are which?
Teckno, your BG ought to be ready to rock. Are you going to be adding in Mythic tiers to Teckno? Bear in mind, it's not strictly necessary at this juncture. It just indicates that he hasn't gone through any particular 'awakening' or 'empowering' at this point, and never fear, we'll get to it quickly in game, so don't worry about being underpowered.

Just looking at your spells, Polgara, curious if you had a theme going - a little bit of a cold thing there, that's cool. Isn't Snapdragon Fireworks usually a fire spell? I'm cool with the cold version existing, but just be aware it is a separate spell, for purposes of spells known. Not that that matters a whole lot to a wizard.
Thanks for clearing up your feats, by the way, that's a heck of a lot easier to read.
Hah! Just noticed her last name. I appreciate that.

Teckno |
I can try to read up on it. I don't see him as particularly mythic yet though. He's just a scientist who's been put in a tough situation.

I'm an admixture evoker. I can change the energy type of my spells a limited number of times per day. The Rime thing will only work if I change snapdragons to cold damage.

De-Man: Here's a couple of thoughts for you. First up, the Sorceress didn't ever let you inside Grayskull. Instead, she urged you to join the original Masters, just over ten years ago before the disappearance of Grayskull. When everything went kaflooey, you could have gone off on a search for Grayskull and the Sorceress, and only just returned when you heard of the call for new Masters.
Teckno: Cool cool. We'll get to that pretty quickly in game.
Dare/Lycana: How goes the progress?
Polgara: Ah. Right then, makes sense.

Viscount K |

De-Man: Yeah, makes sense. The people of Eternia are definitely used to weird-looking folk wandering around, but the De-Men are pretty scary looking, and some folks remember them.
Dare: On animals - New series, mostly. There are some talky animals, but they're special. If you ever meet Swift Wind, for instance, he talks.

Viscount K |

Actually, just for reference: most stuff that was covered in the new series is the norm in this game, so assume that to be the case if I haven't told you otherwise. The old show covered a lot of ground that was never looked at in the new one, though, so we're getting plenty of material there as well: most notably, practically everything related to Phantos or Etheria.

Lycana |

Crunch is up for review.
Lycana was born under a rare celestial event the Wolfen call the Hunter's Moon. Its been declared that she is a favored of Fenrir, the Wolfen revered ancestor, and would accomplish great deeds. Thru out her training and service she became more and more prideful. Why shouldnt she be she was of the royal house and a favored of the race patron... The greatness she was supposedly destined for always seemed to be just out of her reach for some reason though. Many, including her father, came to see that they might be wrong about her being favored.
Arrogant and self centered to the point her father sent her to Eternia in the hopes her attitude might be tempered with humility and selflessness.
After being sent to Eternia Lycana has served for 3 years on in the guard. She has received no special treatment while on Eternia and has had to earn her way thru the ranks. During a recent attack on a village she encountered Whiplash and another Evil Warrior. Whiplash severely injured her as she attempted to protect some children. Something happened to her as she was about to fall and she was able to hold off the evil warriors till the Masters arrived(possible moment of ascencion).

Urg. Sorry, folks, the play I'm assistant director for opens next week, and I'm not only crazy tired, but apparently a lot of my creative juices are drained. I don't feel like I could do justice to the opening stages of this thing just yet, so I'm gonna delay that for another day or so until my brain kicks back in.
Lycana - a few things. First, "something happened" is a bit vague for a Mythic ascension. I like where you're going, though. I like the idea of her arrogance getting smacked down by being in the Eternian guard under Fisto, but secretly she just thought they weren't giving her her royal due until recently. A thought, and I think maybe this is what you were getting at - she had fallen, and was about to fail at stopping Whiplash from abducting the children, when she finally realized that she had been too prideful, and when someone else stepped in (Fisto, maybe, or one of the other players), she accepted their help? Something like that? That is a classic MotU (or almost any 90's action cartoon, really) story waiting to happen. That being said, while a fun character point, that story isn't really a Mythic ascension. Unless you've got something else in mind, I'd say we wait for gameplay to start to tack on some Mythic power to Lycana. That'd tip things slightly in favor of those without mythic to start, which I'm actually in favor of.

Viscount K |

Yup, I'm a liar. Gameplay thread is up. Take a minute, play around in character, I anticipate being a couple of days for the next post (technical rehearsals this weekend are likely to kill my brain), and I'd like to give you folks a chance to interact before we really get going anyway.

Viscount K |

As today's mechanical checkup, I thought I'd look at everybody's skills.
Dare - unless Mad Dog drops them or something, I think you oughta have 8 more skill points from your Int bonus.
Lycana - I can't seem to figure out your organization. Which of your listed bonuses is your ranks in the skill?
De-Man - if I could get your crunch, or at least a link to your crunch, in your profile, that would make my life a lot easier. Skills look good though.
Teckno - I think you also have a few more skills points - apparently Artificers get 5 skill points per level, which is weird, but legitimate.
Polgara - yep, no idea. I'm guessing you're just keeping a running tally of your ranks in Herolab or some such? It all looks reasonable from what I can glean.
In other, surely unrelated news: Only one of you has a decent Sense Motive. (Muahaha!)

Lycana |

The backstory is more of a combination of the fated/godling moments of ascenion ideas presented in the handbook.
I wanted to do a you are you own worst enemy approach to it so that the character's arrogance could be used as a mythic flaw, but i see that is optional now. The fact that the power only came out when Lycana let go of her arrogance and was fighting for no reason other than to protect the children also was a good way to set up for the Guardian path. I liked the idea of here is this fantastic power inside you but you can only use it the right reasons.
Describing it as "something happened" is the best way to put it for she has no idea what happened.Detail wise it was more of a sneak peek at what could be accomplished..a "your on the cusp of getting it" type scenario.
So all in all yes this character has not hit the MoA as all mythic powers are listed as TBA.

Kraven |

I finally got Dare's Bird all put together. I've only played a character with an animal companion once before. I've learned two things today-
1) The animal companion rules are needlessly complicated and arbitrary because of the perceived need to balance critters against each other.
2) The designers have utterly failed to balance critters against each other. Cats and dinosaurs are amazeballs!!!1111 Dogs and birds are abismaterribad.

Teckno |
Heh. Not to mention that 90% of the time they get run wrong. They can technically only take actions dictated by their known Tricks and the owner has to make a handle animal check to make them do anything. Unless they have intelligence of 3+ I believe. Make sure you read over the handle animal skill too.
That's one reason I've never played with one. Why go through all that bullshit when I can play a summoner and have an awesome Eagle eidolon who does exactly what I want? :P

Prince Dare |

That's why the 4th level stat boost went into Int. Eventually I may even shell out for a headband of int for the bird.
Eternian animals (especially the ones who followed the cast around) were portrayed as unnaturally smart, complete with human-like emotions and reactions.
In this game I figure the Handle Animal checks are going to be more like short arguments about who's in charge than trigger-commands for learned behaviors.

Viscount K |

We are. Our GM is just extremely busy right now. The play he's the assistant director for opens tonight. I think that was mentioned a few posts up.
I'd guess we'll probably hear from him by sunday or monday.
Eeyup. This. Really sorry I didn't make more specific mention of what's going on with me before disappearing, guys, but this is pretty dang accurate. I've got a couple more days of being a nutcase, and then I should be back on track. I may get in a post or two before then, but no promises.
Thanks for your patience, folks, I know how annoying this sort of thing is.

Viscount K |

Fair enough, TCG, no problems with that on this end.
Just to keep everybody in the loop, I want to sincerely apologize for how long this game has been taking me to get off the ground. I know I said this game would have a casual posting rate, but there's obviously a long way to go between casual and the non-existence I've been delivering on. There's been a lot of random stressors in real life taking up my energy lately. I still have the actual time, oddly, it's just drying up all the creative juices. I promise, we'll get this thing off and rolling this weekend. I'd be doing it right now, but I'm currently trying to make sure I've got a paper done before it's due tomorrow evening.

Viscount K |

Aaand continued stress continues to eat my brain and prevent creative outlet from bearing fruit. I put up a (kinda half-assed) post earlier this week that got eaten by the forums, and that appears to have been all the energy I had. It's becoming increasingly clear that I just don't have the momentum to get thing off the ground, and rather than drag you all along for another week or two before I declare it dead, I think it's time I just go ahead and call it.
After all the work you guys put in to make entertaining characters for it, I feel terrible about canceling before anything even really happens, but it seems pointless to keep trying to beat this dead horse. If I ever feel like I do actually have the juice again to run this thing, I will definitely give you guys first shot at playing, and I've saved your character info so you won't have to put in all your hard work again if you don't want to.
Again, I'm really sorry about all this. I've had too many games canceled on me to not feel like a jerk about it, but I figure you at least deserve me telling you it's happened instead of just disappearing. Hope there's no hard feelings.
Until next time.

Viscount K |

Just in case anyone's still paying attention to this thing, fair warning: While it makes me a bit sad to do this, I will be shortly restarting this game, but shifting it to folks I know in real life only, meaning DH and another hereto-unspecified player or two. The ease of being able to talk to people about their characters in person, not to mention the lack of pressure on posting time this would grant us makes it more appealing to run this game. Anyway, there you go. Hope there's no hurt feelings.
