Xathanael |
Does Xathanael hear anything up ahead?
Recognising his precarious situation by himself, Xathanael exits the door, turns left, and advances with spear at the ready. He tries to strike a balance between speed and stealth.
Moved 65ft on the map. -5 penalty to stealth.

Clearing the sounds of battle, Xathanael runs, powering through the corridors, deftly passing his companions, and getting the undead within spear range!

Royweena
Xathanael |
To confirm, no AOOs in this particular turn or at all?
brvheart |
It is not doing anything to provoke an AOO. When it casts, it does so defensively and only moves 5'
Roylenna Flamefoot |
Thanks Roylenna, done, I remembered it this time :)
Great, I have reduced my hp accordingly.
Roylenna Flamefoot |
I didn't realize my touch of acid was a supernatural ability - I've been trying to avoid the attack of opportunity, but it doesn't provoke one. Annoying error on my part.
The halfling reaches out for the creature, her hand displaying a mild green glow, but she misses with the attempt.
Melee touch attack: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Acid damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
I assume she cannot 'hold the charge' for this ability.
brvheart |
No, but that scorching ray hurt it badly. The creature seams to disappear.
Roylenna Flamefoot |
She sighs wearily, "I would appreciate a bit of your god's blessing, Wulfgar. Be wary - the creature didn't appear to be destroyed - I think it left on its own. That means it could come back anytime."
One charge from the wand would be great. I have some healing available, but I'm trying to conserve it because we keep getting into fights - I was sorely tempted to use it on the creature, but I'd rather heal you than hurt it.
Wulfgar Ivarsson |
Nodding, "Dah, first healink, then findink creature." using his wand, Wulfgar casts on Roylenna then himself.
Putting away the wand, he rests his free hand on the haft of the Scepter of Faith, using it's inate power to detect undead. 30 ft.
Let me know if were still in combat rounds, It looks like Wulfgar took a total of 13 from the undead, so will use the wand twice on himself, once on Roylenna and then a fourth round to try and find the undead.

He should have healed ten of that 13 from life link, so he only needed the last charge. She would be full with the first two charges, but that’s a bit metagame to do that.

It seems that at the end of round four the creature disappeared, after allowing me to retcon, Wulfgar used the scepter to detect undead which revealed nothing. Dalgrym is no longer with us, So it is the rest of the party's turn to move, correct Brv?
Tolbold Cotton |
Tobold looks around for the creature and when it seems to have gone syas "I'm running low on acid for the day. I'll mostly have to rely on smaller blasts of acid. We should finish that thing off if we can though."
brvheart |
The Scepter of Faiths must be placed on this altar for the duration of
the high midday sun (approximately one hour) for four consecutive
days. This ceremony does not require a priest of Arden, only that the
scepter be placed on the altar while the midday sun beams through
the temple’s Morningtide Sphere. The scepter must remain on the
altar for the noon hour for four consecutive days.
Once the ritual is completed, the scepter gains an additional
+1 enchantment bonus to attack and damage rolls (a total of +2
enchantment bonus). Further, the scepter grants the ability of magic
circle versus evil 3 times per day.
From the blistering heat of the desert, the PCs next travel to the icy
wastes of the Wailing Glacier in Splinters of Faith 6: Morning of
Tears. Inside the melting glacier, they’ll have to find a massive statue and return it to the temple from which it was stolen.
Roylenna Flamefoot |
I believe we have placed the scepter on the altar for today. Are we assuming that the other three days' ritual is complete and we are moving on to the glacier? I'm fine with that idea, just wanting to understand your plan.

I'm a little more disturbed, is the rest of this temple that hard to do on PBP, or is that we don't care enough to even finish it?
If we don't have enough wherewithal to finish this level what's the point?
brvheart |
There is almost nothing left of this part. I was intending in handwaving the remaining days if there is no objection.

Ok, I was just a little worried about XP's, I'll get an action post up soon.
It looks like we are down to Wulfgar, Roylenna, Tolbold and Uthala. Which is good with me, I may have Wulfgar use the shield and mace to armor up a little. If were going to use Uthala as the other front liner we need to equip her. All she has above first level is her wonderful meat-chopper.
brvheart |
The high priest has a heavy mace, mantle and a potion. The three priests all have heavy maces that are magical.
Wulfgar Ivarsson |
Priests? We lost Xanathael? Where have I been?He hasn't posted in any of his games in over a month.

Brv do we need a knowledge roll of any sort to know which way to go?"
