Hagrym |

Hagrym swings at the monster yet again. "Is that the best you have undead demon? That's not enough to harm a servant of Dwerfater!"
Attack 1d20 + 4 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 4 + 1 = 20
Damage 1d10 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 3 + 1 = 14

Naomi Chadwick |
huh, look at that, a couple of dwarves dancing to a Halfling jig. That's odd I would of swore they were both alpha male types but who can tell cause of the beards
Naomi watching the battle unfold, continues playing the Halfling battle jig on her mandolin, changing keys and picking up the tempo on the bridge.

brvheart |

With the +1 from Naomi, the creature falls to Turvijagal's blow. XP 200 each for the 7 of you.

Naomi Chadwick |
crap, now I won't be able to figure out which one of them was leading
Naomi releases her mandolin back to the ether, she walks up and slaps Turvijagal on the back and asks with as little sarcasm as possible
well boys, shall we keep banging on stone doors no one has gone through? Or, head down the hallway the opposite that this abomination came from?
edit, said I slapped him on the back so I moved there

brvheart |

Out of the shadows something attempts to touch Hagrym
incorporeal touch: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Damage=1 point of STR

Hagrym |

"Argh! What in the bloody hell," Hagrym yells as he was hit by the shadowy creature. He swings his axe at it.
Attack 1d20 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 1 = 22
Damage 1d10 + 2 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 2 + 1 = 11
Miss chance. (High roll is good) 1d100 ⇒ 100

brvheart |

High roll is very good! The lesser shadow only had 4 hp! XP 75 each.

brvheart |

The metal bar for the stone door is split asunder and the door lies in two large pieces on the floor of the room. The door is scratched and scarred, but still legible. The room is empty.

Naomi Chadwick |
this door is broken
after congratulating Turvijagal on defeating the ghoul Naomi just barely catches the combat with the shadow, seeing the open room she goes in and inspects it, coming out she tells the boys
Well struck, Hagrym, the room is empty, but it's the same shape I assume as the room we came into through the tunnel that was dug. Turvijagal can you read the writing on the broken door?
perception, just in case: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

brvheart |

This door is on worse shape than the door you came it. It was at least basically intact, just pulled out by the oxen.

Jarvis Ward |

"I think the Dwarves need to stay on look out or we need light to see from someone, so far just a bunch of undead, but we should attempt to see them first. Good job on the ghoul everyone!

Hagrym |

Ah Naomi's post makes sense now, as I see the DM ninja'd me earlier!
Hagrym outstretched an arm and pointed to the group of undead. "We have to finish them, too! If anyone wants to soften them up first, I'd appreciate it. Ulfguard, it's time to wet your blade with undead entrails!"
Hagrym will give a round for the others to ranged Attack, before he moves to close the distance.
Initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

brvheart |

The moral of the story? Undead really like chickens.
Horses, too it seems like

"Lucky" Cyrus |

Init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Things were moving faster than Cyrus could keep up with them, but he knew he had to do something.
~But what? It is true that Zors has responded more to me in the past hour than he has in five years, but I am no warrior.~
Taking stock of the surrounding and seeing nothing that could aid them nearby, Cyrus just watched as Ulfgard and Turvijagal rushed by him and began attacking the undead creature.
~It is like they have faced these creatures thousands of times before.~
Cyrus will continue lookout duty. Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (13) + 5 = 18

Naomi Chadwick |
what the heck is that?
as Naomi is returning to the hallway she hears an odd shuffling and heavy panting; stepping to the door and seeing the scrum around the bend she realizes what she heard was the dwarves and company scurrying to attack more undead. Concerned that there may be more coming from the opposite direction; she draws her sword and turns right, returning the way they came, with the intent to protect the squishy spell casters. As she nears Lucky and Galerio, keeping a keen eye out, she asks them.
do you think all the undead are approaching from the clock-wise side because Rayne D’Anzeray and his goons cleared the other direction out?
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9 well that's about terrible

brvheart |

init Galerio: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
init Jarvis: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
init Shandar: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18

brvheart |

Letting Ulfgard go first, Turvijagal follows behind and charges to hit the Zombie hit by Ulfgard. Using his scimitar.
[dice=scimitar]1d20 + 5; 1d6 + 2
[dice=critical confirm]1d20 + 3; 1d6 + 2
Woo-hoo!
Turvijagal slices the head off a zombie and it falls.

do you think all the undead are approaching from the clock-wise side because Rayne D’Anzeray and his goons cleared the other direction out?
Watching the half-elven swordsman sever the head from the staggered undead, Cyrus was again impressed at the killing efficiency of these men.
"I wish I knew. I would not be surprised if those men had joined the ranks of these creatures if they were of the same skill as their companions. Although from the look of these corpses, they have all seen better days."
~Especially that one that spoke in a strange tongue. I would like to examine him to see if he carried any mark or symbol on it.~
Round two action: Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 to continue scanning the area while the fighters deal with the undead minions.

brvheart |

Shandar was loading his CB so we are waiting on Jarvis then the lone zombie if he survives that long!

brvheart |

Jarvis is really too far back to affect this round so I am moving the zombie up 5' for its turn. Hagyrm, Lucky and Turvijagal have been itching to go anyway!

Jarvis Ward |

Jarvis double moves to the front... it is clear the enemy has been dealt with.
I need an effective way to post from my phone, grr, nice initiative for me brv!

Naomi Chadwick |
Joined there ranks?
Naomi, surprised the zombies have lasted this long asks Lucky
Do you think this Rayne D’Anzeray would have surrounded himself with incompetents? He seemed to know enough about this place to find his way in.
watching the combat, she flinches a little at Ulfgard's crushing blow
Well struck, Ulfgard, Well struck

Keeping his eyes on the others as they continue to hammer at the undead creatures, Cyrus kept the lighted staff raised high in case more shadow creatures appeared as well.
"I have seen men have all the faith in the world in the cards they were dealt only to realize too late the dealer was cheating them. While it is likely this D'Anzeray knows means to deal with these creatures as well, something could have happened to him all the same. Why are there no torches in the hallways and how long can even the dwarves hold up if more of these creatures continue to attack? My gut tells me we are missing something here, we may be chasing the queen and she is in the sleeve of another."

Naomi Chadwick |
gambling metaphors, ok, lets see how to put this
Naomi keeps her "dancing lights" halfway between herself and the combat zone, listening to Lucky closely as she watches up the hall.
that's why you don't play the house my friend, you can't buck the tigers odds. Your right there are no torches in the hallway, it's either the light or the noise that is drawing the undead, but with the wand we can keep our front line on line so to speak. My question is if D'anzeray is creating the undead as a distraction or are they natural to this place, we need more information.
smiling she says
The easiest was to keep the dealer from cheating you is to deal the cards yourself.
