oh, so it is dead?
Are we supposed to track our own XP? All the other games I play or GM the GM just tells us when to level up. I have not been tracking so I would need to go back through the game history to try to figure it out
I haven't been tracking, either, but here's what I have. Roylenna started as everyone was instructed to level to six. After that, we received 2060 xp for the massive gnoll scrum. Then we got 800 xp when we defeated the ettin. There was a battle with the flindbar and associates for 543 xp. Oh, and another flind party for 667 xp. That's through page 127 and I'm out of time. Maybe someone else can pick up the thread there.

So through page 127, we should be at 27070 experience points, looking for 35000. We've spent over a year of real time since I joined and we are still in the same day, so that's actually a lot of xp.

apparently I showed up after the giant scrum, showing:
xp=800 each (ettins)
xp=543 each (gnolls)
The gnolls surrender xp=667 each
a double wall scythe trap, xp+200 each
xp=533 each
I haven't added totals yet.

Roylenna Flamefoot |

So Roylenna, Tobold, and Dalgrym should have 27803 xp. If Ulfgard is still a member of the party, he would be at that total. Wulgar would be at 25743, I believe. It looks like Xathanael and Amadana would have 23733, having participated in the last two events.
That is, of course, unless everyone just stays at the same xp level, which I'm totally good with.

brvheart |

Wulfgar should be out of panic by now.
Ulfgard is gone.
I level up Uthala when the party does.
That sounds about right Roylenna

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
'That was embarrassing.' Giving the others a sheepish grin as he returns, picking up his hammer and illuminating it. "Apologizink, I am ComRades, Findink specter most disturbink I was, dah."
He then illuminates his hammer and moves into the room, keeping a keen eye out, asking as he goes, "I anyone knowink what it was?"
brv, any remains of the thing?
perception: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (3) + 14 = 17

Xathanael |

Xathanael turns to face Wulfgar.
"Wulfgar, that was an unnatural abomination. I am sure that we will all be found wanting at some stage. The trick is having others ready to cover us.", he says with a smile.
"I believe that was a kamarupa. The distorted souls of evil priests, betrayed and sacrificed to their deity. They hate light and life. Very unpleasant all around, really. Shall we continue?"

brvheart |

An expansive dome covers the room. A white stone altar directly beneath a 10-foot-diameter hole in the ceiling is the only object in the room. The hole is the lowest end of the hollow force pillar supporting the Morningtide Sphere. The mostly disintegrated remains of a skeletal figure wearing tattered robes of Set’s priesthood lie face down on the altar. A severed hand lies near the altar, still gripping Set’s unholy symbol. On it is a ring and a hand ax is embedded into its skull.

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
"Ah we are findink a priest of set, I am thinkink he may beink the Kamarupa, Dah?' gesturing towards the skeletal figure, "I am wonderink if the axe or ring is magical."
Moving to the alter, he rests his hands on it, Looking up into the hole, then looking carefully at the alter.

Roylenna Flamefoot |

Roylenna hesitantly enters the room to examine the corpse and the altar. "I have no formal training, but I have heard that many creatures of this nature are never truly defeated unless something is done to appease them so that their soul might proceed to its just rewards. Sometimes it's a burial in consecrated ground. Other times, it's the return of a relic they had in life or the destruction of such a relic. It really seems to be more of an art to figure these out than a science, personally."
She casts detect magic, focusing on the corpse and the items upon it (ring, handaxe, unholy symbol).
And I intended to look around a bit...
Perception: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 22

brvheart |

The ring and handaxe are magical. The sphere at the top of the sphere is covered with dirt and filth.

So an altar and a sphere?
Scrubbing the dirt off with his hand, "ComRades, I am wonderink if there may beink writink under grrrrime."
how much of the grime can we reach and how long will it take to scrub off by hand, unless someone has prestigitation.

Roylenna Flamefoot |

Roylenna studies the auras of the ring and the handaxe, trying to ascertain what she can about their properties. She will do this the requisite number of rounds to learn as much as she can unless there is an interruption - such as a threat.
Spellcraft for handaxe: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16
Spellcraft for ring: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 23

Roylenna Flamefoot |

She gently works the ring from the ancient hand, "Friends, this appears to provide some measure of protection against attacks. For those leading the charge, would you find value in it?"
"Tobold, that axe appears to be enchanted, but the nature of the magic is escaping me. Perhaps you would have better luck?"

Dalgrym Oakenshield |

we are here at the temple to receive a blessing from it for the scepter. we need to find what's left of the temple priesthood, I think most of them were hanging dead outside when we got here. Or we need to find a way to receive the blessing of the god of this temple without them.
Happy to let them take everyone and leave, of course they killed everyone and will just come back.
I take it that priests of Set are not the temple priesthood we are looking for?

Xathanael |

"Roylenna, I certainly could use the protection of that ring. If there are no objections, I would gladly make use of it."

If the Morningtide Sphere atop Seraph is cleaned, the sun ray’s blast
into this chamber. Light cascades over the altar, restoring its former glory. The room comes alive with positive and refreshing energy, and waves of heat wash away the gloomy atmosphere of the lower halls. Fresh air again fills the chamber.
Who now has the mace?

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
yes wulfgar has the mace
If the Morningtide Sphere atop Seraph is cleaned,...
Tolbold casts prestidigitaion and begins to clean the sphere.
Brv, can prestidigitation clean it from here or do we need to go back to the top to clean it? Or are you handwaving going back up and coming back down?

brvheart |

Once the Morningtide Sphere is cleansed, the Scepter of Faiths can
receive the blessing of the Convocation of Radiance by placing the item on the altar during the midday sun.

brvheart |

The Scepter of Faiths must be placed on this altar for the duration of
the high midday sun (approximately one hour) for four consecutive
days. This ceremony does not require a priest of Arden, only that the
scepter be placed on the altar while the midday sun beams through
the temple’s Morningtide Sphere. The scepter must remain on the
altar for the noon hour for four consecutive days.

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
Hey brv, about what time of day would it be after we got everything cleaned up? Is this information written any where, or how do we sort it out?
Wulfgar's spells are about half used.
Realizing it is well past noon, Wulfgar asks the others, "Wrestink hear and now are we comRades, or explorink shall we be goink?"

Roylenna Flamefoot |

Roylenna's definitely ready for a rest to recharge spells. She's not desperate yet, but one good fight like we had with the gnolls and she'll be tapped out.
That said, she's good for that one good fight if the party wants to poke around after the daily sunlight ritual has been completed.

brvheart |

I was just going to handwave it and make it just around noon so you get started on it.

Xathanael |

"Excellent. Progress towards our joint goal!"

brvheart |

Are you going to do any exploring of this level in the meantime or just wait here?

Once the ritual is completed, the scepter gains an additional
+1 enchantment bonus to attack and damage rolls (a total of +2
enchantment bonus). Further, the scepter grants the ability of magic
circle versus evil 3 times per day

Wulfgar Ivarsson |
Wow! Thanks for the info Brv.
Realizing the Scepter had remained on the altar for over an hour, Wulfgar picks it up and tucking it in his belt, heads back out into the hallway, pointing to the right, North he illuminates his hammer, turning to the others, "Shall we be headink that way comRades?"
Waiting for the others to gather, He then heads north moving at a slow pace, keeping a keen eye out for anything unusual.

Xathanael |

Xathanael nods.
"We surely have further dangers to dispense with."
Perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 +3 vs traps

While they wait, Roylenna kneels and prays for guidance, hoping for clarity regarding their mission. Nothing mechanical going on here.
When Wulfgar gathers the Scepter, she opens her eyes and smoothly stands, smiling, and gets into her normal position for marching order.
