Pretty
Watch: one of the middle ones - 3rd (or 4th) so the casters may take first and last.
Behavior:
- Pretty sleeps in her light chain shirt (since it do not make you fatigued);
- I tend to the horses before going to sleep;
- Keep watch with no lights (unless someone build a camp fire);
- On marching order I can be anywhere. (front line as i can get past the enemies and flank them; middle role do support/shoot/circle; last line to keep the rear protected)
Kivan Corsan
Behavior
-What armor?
-Studying my books and writing notes before bed.
-Keep a small campfire (Unless I could use my low-light with the stars that are out that night).
-Center of marching order to make sure I can respond to any threat.
Idris of the Blade
Since Idris doesn't have dark/low-light vision, she would prefer to keep watch when the moon is up. However, she can take 2nd, 3rd, or 4th. In this particular instance, a campfire would give away our position.
Idris of the Blade
Other stuff: Idris sleeps in her light armor. She will be in the front, or nearly the front of the marching order, unless a rear guard is needed. Idris will use a whetstone on her blade before sleeping (so the first successful strike of the day will have the +1 to damage).
Cassius Blackmore
-Sleeping in Light armor
-During Watch Cassius will climb a near by tree to get a somewhat vantage point.
-Take the 2nd watch
-Ill take last in marching order, that way if we get flanked, the casters arent going to be attacked first.
Seraphina Medvyed
Borrowed the format from the PFS campaign I play in. How would this work for the group as our watch schedule?
Last light ~18:00.
Double staggered, all pers get 8hrs sleep.
18:00-20:00 Sera, Cassius
20:00-22:00 Cassius, Pretty
22:00-00:00 Pretty, Idris
00:00-02:00 Idris, Kivan
02:00-04:00 Kivan, Maja
04:00-06:00 Maja Sera
No armor, she will help Maja tend to camp and cook and probably pray alongside her as well, if she's welcome. ^_^
Pretty
So it would need to be something like:
18:00-20:00 Sera, Kivan
20:00-22:00 Cassius, Pretty
22:00-00:00 Pretty, Idris
00:00-02:00 Idris, Maja
02:00-04:00 Maja, Cassius
04:00-06:00 Sera, Kivan
You will have to wake up twice Cassius! Be a gentleman ^^ We can switch this once some days pass.
I like cause we are more protected, but it takes us 12 hours. Of course we can only use 8, so it's not a problem.
Pretty
Forgive me for being so stupid. There's no need for anyone to wake up twice:
18:00-20:00 Cassius, Kivan
20:00-22:00 Kivan, Pretty
22:00-00:00 Pretty, Idris
00:00-02:00 Idris, Maja
02:00-04:00 Maja, Sera
04:00-06:00 Sera, Cassius
There it goes.
Seraphina Medvyed
Ok, that works. I was in the process of working it up again so the no-armor wearing squishy casters were not teamed up but you addressed that.
Maja Weatherseed
One other suggestion - the darkvision (Pretty) and low-light (Kivan) silled should be split apart. We have too few of those. So how about this.
18:00-20:00 Cassius, Kivan
20:00-22:00 Kivan, Idris
22:00-00:00 Idris, Pretty
00:00-02:00 Pretty, Maja
02:00-04:00 Maja, Sera
04:00-06:00 Sera, Cassius
Separately, we seem to have an implicit marching order. Something like this.
Front: Idris, Pretty
Middle: Kivan, Sera
Back: Cassius, Maja
Does that look okay?
Idris of the Blade
Makes sense, of course pretty or idris would switch with Cassius when he needs to use survival to find our way or track things.

I'm having connection problems, so a might not be present for one or two days.
Kivan Corsan
I suggest we move towards where we found the kobolds and then explore. I don't want to be caught in the same area as where we killed some of the Stag Lord's bandits.
Seraphina Medvyed
The player's guide mentions "opening the trade routes along the rivers" as a primary objective. I think we should explore this hex and then continue along the river to begin.
Kivan Corsan
Whatever the group decides to go with I'm fine with.
Another question, does this AP use the fast, medium, or slow method of advancement?
Kivan Corsan
Hey we can't kill them. They might be good, or neutral. please let them be neutral
Idris of the Blade
Let's leave the hex of the bandit camp for now, and return to the hex where the kobolds ambushed us, and explore it. Or wait -- is the loot we got weighing down the horses and slowing us? Maybe we should return to Oleg's first.
Pretty
I don't want to be caught in the same area as where we killed some of the Stag Lord's bandits.
That's actually a very strong point. They MAY send a strong force to match us. so let's avoid staying here for the time being. Let's go to the kobold tribe square.
GM_Jacob
Hey, folks, sorry I missed a day. Full disclosure, I'm getting married in 2 weeks, so my life is IN-SANE right now. I'll certainly miss a few more days over the next 3 weeks or so, but I'll definitely try to get in as much as possible. I'm not forsaking the game, and I'll be back to consistent posting after everything settles down. For now, your patience is greatly appreciated. I hope you're all enjoying yourselves. I'm working on gameplay posts right now, so you'll have something to play with soon.
Pretty
Yay! Pretty loves marriages! Congratulations!
Seraphina Medvyed
Congrats on the impending nuptials! Life always comes first, and we'll still be here when the commotion has died down. Hope everything goes well! ^_^
I'm enjoying the game, but I'd really love it if we, the players, could get past the quibbling over morality and resolve that it's ok to attack and kill the low CR critters GM Jacob is giving us to cut our teeth on. The diplomatic approach is good for people, but if we keep trying to make friends with everything, we won't have anything to level up on!
Cassius Blackmore
In most cases, myself and many other GMs i know will award the XP of the creatures wether you kill them or handle the situation diplomatically. Im not sure if our DM is the same though.
But i agree, its getting tedious
Pretty
Sure. Demonic Mode ON. I was pissed of with Kivan calling me a demon anyway. Know at least he was right ^_^
Seraphina Medvyed
The Noble Born trait I took from the campaign kinda requires that Sera would be opposed to outright attacking fey of any variety, even nasty ones. *shrugs*
I know it probably seems in opposition to what I said earlier, but she's not going to sway from the opinion that we should target the kobolds instead. We know they are attacking travelers and raiding just like the bandits.
Medvyed: Your family has long a deep respect for the wilderness and is superstitious about the creatures that dwell therein. You gain a +2 trait bonus on all Diplomacy checks made to deal with fey creatures and a +1 trait bonus on Will saves made against their spells and supernatural abilities.
Pretty
@Jacob: we've got a little lost regarding the hexes. In which one we just arrived, in which are the kobolds and in which the trails moves to. Also, the hour we made things this day, so we might now when to rest and such.
Seraphina Medvyed
Looks like we're not the only ones to be confused about the hex sizes...
Link to a discussion.
The happy day approaches soon, so I doubt we'll hear much from our GM for a few days more.
GM_Jacob
Ok, let's try this for a better map. Plains, hills, and forest are shown currently. House is Oleg's, grapes are radishes, tents are bandit camp. You are in the radish hex, heading SE into unexplored territory. Hexes with filled bases are explored. Better?
Alright, friends, this is my last post for a bit. Getting married and such. Hopefully I've left you enough to talk about for at least a little bit. Feel free to chat amongst yourselves or even go back in time to have earlier conversations. You can fill in history, discuss backgrounds, whatever you like.
Pretty
Congratulations once again! Enjoy it!
Well, the map does seem visually good. I had the impression that Oleg's watch post was much farther away. Actually it was the bandit's camp which was more to the center of the hexes, but whatever works for me.
So the radishe's hex has been explored, and we're heading to another one where we may find Mites or Kobolds, depending on what do we want, right?
Idris of the Blade
Thanks, that makes more sense. The map works visually and I like it.
We'll RP for a while, don't worry about us.
Have fun storming the castle!
