Milo Silverbrush |
Thank you! I'm excited to officially join the game!
Seraphina Medvyed |
Oh good! I had begun to wonder if we lost another player before they had even begun. I can honestly say the only thing I noticed was that Milo's marker was one of the avatars used here on the boards and that is not generally the way Red operates. Quite the stealthy entrance, even for a Ranger! Glad to have you along! ^_~
I was thinking Pretty and Sera could help with disguises for the new tieflings, provided they want the help. Sera will be adopting her new eye makeup fashion to camouflage the scales around her eyes and wear something with a high collar to conceal the scales on the sides and back of her neck.
Red Ramage |
If I end up bleeding from the eyes it'll be from ebola courtesy of the nurse who ran a fever and flew to my hometown with the full approval of the CDC, not your rather nice costume. Lord have mercy.
Idris of the Blade |
As long as you don't touch any bodily fluids of anyone who has ebola, you'll be fine. I can see why having her arrive there in your town would be disconcerting, however.
Red Ramage |
I'm not in panic mode yet, but people who have been treating ebola patients have no business whatsoever getting on airplanes. I mostly worry because I'm exposed to tens of thousands of people from all over the state and the world every day at school. It's an ideal vector. Fortunately I go to the University of Akron and not Kent State, but it seems Kent is on the ball with precautions, isolating the relatives who had contact with her. I'm mostly worried for my brother, who works at Kent State, and my father, who flies through CLE nearly every week.
Pretty |
Man, that's tough!
At least you are in the USA... In Brazil we are afraid it could decimate the country (If you think that's a joke, think again...)
Maja Weatherseed |
Sorry for the radio silence, my vacation has been good but grueling, and may stay that way for a while. My posts just won't be very impressive until after Nov 10. Sorry!

We will have a total of 10k and something, Maja, minus the value of the items you are using (50% of the things like the Stag Helm and others).
Pretty, for instance, will have only about 3k to spend, since she is using several items from the loot...
If you have any doubts take a loot at your column on the Loot Sheet (to the right) and ask me.
Milo Silverbrush |
Leave me out of dividing that money up. You earned all that before I joined the party.

In hospital. Gmpc me as needed.

Red Ramage |
That's not good. Hope whatever's wrong gets sorted quickly!
Pretty |
Oh no! Someone needs to tell Bara!
Jokes aside, get better!
Red Ramage |
Sellemius has no ties or authority over the assassins of Daggermark. The Assassins Guild and Poisoners guild rule the city through puppets.
Pretty, I have to ask again because I'm confused. You're in disguise as the qadiran merchant while in civilization, right? Would Sellemius know your true identity?
Idris of the Blade |
This is awesome writing. I will be able to continue tomorrow I think, though still using my phone.

Yes I am disguised, but the priest has probably know me like that, so he may have recognized me. The mayor is a different matter, but Pretty does not distrust him, so he will need to know I am a tiefling, at least so he could know for sure who are taking residence on the land. Otherwise he would describe me just as a "Quadiran Merchant", and that does not sound right.
But, about me being a Surtova and all, I would not tell him that. He may know from outside sources (since Pretty stayed for quite a while in Restov also) since there are not many tieflings around, but that's up to you, I see either as a challenge ^_^

Sorry for missing yesterday, had a terrible day at work and a midterm that kept me from playing.
I'm operating under the assumption that Pretty doesn't immediately show signs of vigorous life and make herself a threatening target. I generally don't have enemies finish off downed players and take coup de grace actions, but an assassin is a foe that would do just that. As long as Pretty doesn't look like a threat, the assassin isn't going to go "hey she's alive again and has 6 hp, time for a 4d6 sneak attack" but instead focus on those still up and fighting. She doesn't know how effective Maja's healing spell was, nor had spellcraft to identify the power of the spell, so the assassin is targeting Maja, who is a threat.
If pretty rolls into flank and starts making sneak attacks, she'll be a target again and probably be in a very bad situation.
I just want to put this out here so you know how I handle enemies and low health players, I don't want you to think I'm either picking on you or fudging things to keep a player alive.
Idris of the Blade |
Milo, we haven't forgotten about you! We're just kinda stuck here. Hate it when NPCs split up the PCs.
Edit: Oh, by the way Milo, Idris has this custom feat Red made:
Dedicated Combatant: You gain the benefits of the Diehard feat. In addition, your displays of combat prowess inspire a +1 morale bonus to attack rolls for any ally that can see you fighting. You count as your own ally and receive this bonus as well. This bonus stacks with other morale bonuses.
You should be getting this and technically so should Nix, and Trip attempts are attack rolls.
I'm sure Red will make you a custom feat too, as the storyline goes along!
Milo Silverbrush |
No problem, I understand. I would have liked to help keep Pretty alive too, but Milo couldn't even see her from where he is.
Thanks for the info on the feat!

Thank you again, Idris! That's what I get for posting from my phone. I read the 17 to attack as 17 damage, instead of reading the 4. I edited my post. Phew!

Don't worry Milo. Kivan will either save you or kill the party trying!

Questions:
- Is the light condition lower than bright light?
- Are they all humans?
- Can I cast my Darkness Spell-like ability defensively? (I do believe you can, but what would be the attribute to add to the concentration roll?)
Idris of the Blade |
SLAs can be cast defensively, and you would add your Charisma modifier and your character level as the modifiers.

Red Ramage |
I guess it's normal light, idk. there's no penalties or anything like that, but it's kind of a dim alleyway.
Idris of the Blade |
Dim light imposes miss chances and prevents sneak attacks (without darkvision or low-light vision or a particular feat) so the fight would have gone very differently. Light is one of those rules that's very complicated to run and doesn't always add a lot of fun. Maybe they'll update the rules in Pathfinder Unchained?

Pretty |
Well, let Pretty fix this detail, decreasing the light condition one degree...

This goes to all my games: I'll probably be MIA until the 8th. Please forgive my absence and take any actions that seem appropriate to my character.
Red Ramage |
Sorry for lack of posting, got two bad days in a row at work with a bad day at school in between. Post when I wake up
Milo Silverbrush |
Rules at written, I don't think she can get away this round:
First, she has to use her full round action to move three cards. Then, she would have to mount as a free action, but according to the skill description for ride, that requires you to still have a move action available, and make the DC 20 ride check.
Fast Mount or Dismount: You can attempt to mount or dismount from a mount of up to one size category larger than yourself as a free action, provided that you still have a move action available that round. If you fail the Ride check, mounting or dismounting is a move action. You can't use fast mount or dismount on a mount more than one size category larger than yourself.
Pretty |
Well, good news is, my pace will return to normal in a few days. Bad news is that I got a lot to catch up, so I might be still slow.
Hope you guys are doing ok!
Red Ramage |
sorry for the slow posting, been dealing with some real s#!+ at work. Regular posting to resume this afternoon with advancing the scene.
Maja Weatherseed |
Hey folks, I'm in a Rise of The Runelords game that is looking for fresh meat new recruits! The pace of the game is slow but steady, with a DM that's there for the long haul. We're starting up Book 2 soon, and already have a ranger who refuses to use a proper melee weapon, an angry cleric of Gozreh, and a bard who tells really lame jokes (that's me!). We could use an arcane caster and another front-liner. If this sounds interesting, just go to our discussion page and post a character! Starting at 4th level, 20 point buy.
Kivan Corsan |
I will have to sit this one out. Thanks for the offer though.

[blog][whining]
Thanks again for your patience, I went through several days of pretty bitter work experiences that left me too drained to post. It's really nice to sit through an annual state of the company meeting where we get told how great a job we're doing, and how sales grew from 94 million to 107 million over the course of the year and are projected to grow to 125 million next year, and then get told at your review that there's no money in the budget for a raise. Even though it's the processes I'm running and the innovations I'm part of that are impressing the customers to the point where they're offering us extra business in my area, and I'm making less money than apprentice kids with less seniority than me.
On the plus side, it's given me the drive to strike out on my own. Registered a domain name last night, filing the papers to form a LLC today. Hopefully within a few months I'll be ready to give 'em the finger and do my own thing.

Bump for sake of Pretty, I hope things are going well for you.
Seraphina Medvyed |
It has been a while since we heard from the Pretty... Hope everything is ok, looks like most recent messages were saying Walter was still bogged down with work.
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving, if you celebrate that. ^_^
Red Ramage |
Gonna assume he's busy for the moment then and press on botting Pretty.
Red Ramage |
turned in my last school assignment for the semester and my resignation from work today. Posting quantity and quality to skyrocket shortly. Thanks for being patient these last few weeks, it's been rocky over here.
Pretty |
Yes, congratulations for finishing the semester, and good luck on the new job! What are you gonna sell with your company Red?
