Horgun Flintnose |

Let me make something OOC very clear here. I have a rather low opinion of games getting derailed by PCs squabbling with each other over. Horgun hasn't said a word about a goblin in the party because he's in the party. My attitude is that it's best to accept the trope that We Are Adventurers and get on with the fun parts.
That said, one of the parts of We Are Adventurers is that no one is pulling stunts like trying to pocket all the good loot for themselves. Once that compact is broken then there's no reason for Horgun to not just shrug and lop off Chee's head, because he was a thief and it's not like goblins are really people anyway. I don't want to go there. So I'm willing to play along a little bit and let Chee hide the loot while we're still in the field. But please let's be clear that it's not for keeps when we're counting up treasure back at camp, okay? Or if you do mean for it to be for keeps, say so now so I know to react properly to it ICly.

GM Fireclaw |

I also don't want to get bogged down in a discussion of loot either, which is why I'm limiting it to what is reasonable. I think Horgun has made it pretty clear to Chee that that sorta thing won't be tolerated. I won't step into save Chee if Horgun takes things into his own hands.
It's never a good idea to piss off people who kill for a living.
I'm not trying to stifle Chee's character, but I also don't want the adventure to be focused on loot. I understand that Chee doesn't have a normal conception of what is right and wrong, and that is part of why he keeps his shinies safe from others, but there also comes a point where party cohesion is important. Also, remember that Almah is a an agent of the pactmasters. Stealing from them warrants the death sentence in Katapesh.

Chee |

I'm not trying to derail the game. Chee is, among other things, a pickpocket. It's habit for him to stash things away. Once it comes time to divvy up loot, he'll turn it over. That was always the plan, in character and out. I thought it would be apparent to the other characters that Chee isn't really trying to steal from them. The gem was tossed and Chee caught it because no one else seemed interested, and it was shiny. The coins are out in the open, and again were shiny.
I'm cool with Horgun being suspicious of Chee, they are goblin and dwarf, but remember in Katapesh goblins are people, just like everyone else who obeys the laws, and so far, Chee hasn't broken any laws.

Greetings. I have returned from a prolonged and rather unexpected absence. I apologize profusely for the lack of warning. I will post a new warning. School is getting harder and work is getting busier. Until January my posts will be scarce. I understand if that does not sit well with the party and if it is too much trouble for everyone with me being so inactive, then I will bow out.
I leave my fate in your hands.
P.S. Chee can have Jesail's share of the spoils. Jesail doesn't believe in taking things. He will only accept things if given for the work he has done.
P.S. again. Jesail WILL fight on behalf of Chee should there be violence over the little fella's actions. Jesail would however try and convince Chee to share the wealth.

GM Fireclaw |

Looks like there won't be a dispute, I'm glad we were able to work things out without arguement. Chee is right though: The most important law in Katapesh is this: Do nothing to distrupt Trade. It is a place of trade, of money. That is what matters in Katapesh. Horgun might not see a goblin as a person, which is fine, but goblins are citizens as much as anyone else (though often find themselves at odds with the Lawful society).
Jesail: It's fine, real life comes first. As the holiday season approaches, I will be more lenient to everyone where posting is concerned. It is always a busy season, especially since it is also exam season for us students, and that compounds the issue. I won't ask you to bow out.

GM Fireclaw |

Hey guys, just wanted to know if you guys wanted to take a break while the holidays are here. I'm pretty sure I will be able to post consistently once a day during the holidays, save for Christmas Eve and Day.
What does everyone think? I can try to finish this combat up before a certain time, then the party could return to the caravan and rest (and level up)?

GM Fireclaw |

BTW, I realize pugwampies are frustrating, this guy especially since he has high AC, SR and DR, but you guys have pretty much dealt with all of them at this point.
Alright, looks like every is keen to keep going through the holidays. I'll be out of town, but I'll bring the AP with me and I should have an internet connection. If we're in combat at any point though, I'll extend the usual 1 day posting rule to 2 days, sounds good?

SCHOOL IS DONE! I will be able to post a bit more frequently however I cannot post while I'm at work, on occasion I work back to back shifts and have game nights on Fridays so there will be occasions where I won't post for sometime still....unless I get my phone to work somehow. Anybody know how to get a smartphone to post on Paizo? I'd appreciate any advice.

I've never had any issues, except it taking longer to type. The only things I can think of are changing around your settings? Actually, what is the problem? Can you get on the Paizo site ok? is it navigation, the "keyboard", etc. . .?
The easiest fix for me was switching internet options (or browser/visual options) to "smart fit", I believe. I am deployed, so no cell phone for more than a few more months or I would check it out. :(

When you level up, please post any and all choices made (noting the class gained will suffice for things like saves). Please to be recalling my rules on HP/level. You may choose each level to take the average or roll your HD. The average will be rounded based on the new level. If it is a even level, round to the even number. If it is an odd level, round to the odd number. For example, a ranger is d10 HD which is 5.5 average. So at level 2, if you chose the average, you would round to the nearest even number. In this case, a 6. Please remember to note your favoured class choice.

Finally, my FIRE caster actually gets a fire spell . . .
I will level up in a few minutes/hour, but I am going <Favored Class> Oracle.
I believe I already put everything that I actually get for next level on the character sheet, so should be fast.

Chee |

HP roll 1d8 + 0 ⇒ (6) + 0 = 6
I'm going to be taking another level of Alchemist and am leaning toward the Explosive Bomb discovery. Bombs would have 10ft radius and direct hit would automatically ignite the target, no save. Extinguishing the blase would take a full-round action. Sounds very Chee-ish and fits with what he has been doing lately. However, I was initially planning to take the Infusion discovery to let others make use of Chee's spells. Any opinions from the group?

Horgun Flintnose |

The shared infusions doesn't sound the most useful till you have enough infusions per day to spend a few buffing other party members. You're right that the explosive bomb sounds Chee-like, my only worry is putting them to use when other PCs (like me!) are in the blast range.
There's another discovery, Precise Bombs, that lets you exempt squares from your bomb explosions. That might be useful to you by letting Chee throw bombs whenever he wants instead of trying to place them around people caught in melee.

I should be good except for HP, which I think I will just go with the average all the way. So d8 = 5 +1FC +1Con, so +7HP, right?
Also need one more 1st level spell, any suggestions? I'm really wanting something offensive.
I picked up 1 Orison (Create Water), Burning Hands and 1 1st level spell (?), +1 BaB, +1 Will, 8 skills (Bluff and Linguistics <Ignan>).

GM Fireclaw |

Janos the average HP for you at 2nd level is 4.

![]() |

It's not 4.5 rounded down at1st (odd) and 4.5 rounded up at 2nd (even)?

GM Fireclaw |

You round to the even number cause it's an even level.
