Any news on Black Dow's character?
Apologies chief - was putting the finishing touches but here's the mostly done Pekk for everyone's delectation.
Heavily focussed on trap-finding/disposal, knowledge gathering (with an eye on the Spymaster kingdom role) and a support combatant. All round skills monkey to boot.
Still need to nail down expenditure and my boat stats, but the crux of him is done. Thrash out his history & background.
He originally hails from Mivon (small crafter town with high gnome pop named Jovvox).
Was drawn into a life of river-raiding and smuggling. Now a freelance vagabond of the waterways. With Silverhold offering stability to the region its opened up the Shrike and Tuskwater (presume the previous landlord did little to encourage trade/opportunity).
With a fledgling kingdom (and realm change for the better) now on his doorriver-step, Pekk will see this as an opportunity.
@All: Does Silverhold have a coat of arms?

Darian Aulamaxa |

Coat of Arms: I could have sworn we came up with one, but for the life of me I'm not 100% sure. Edit - I had posed the question of designing one back in March, but then we leveled up and got some loot and I'm pretty sure it got forgotten. HA!
Edit 2: Tinkered around on a custom flag making website, and came up with the following to humbly submit to everyone for consideration:
I personally think each of our "Houses" needs to come up with their own banners as well. What do ya'll think? Should we go through the trouble? I think it would add a nice level of detail to the game.
Isabel: Do you want to determine how the 15 Lackeys we just hired are distributed? Our options include butlers, valets, maids, heralds, footmen, ladies-in-waiting, and similar service personnel. I'm assuming "similar service personnel" also allows for things like cooks and such.
Kingdom Stuff: With our current Consumption at a Net of -2, do you guys think we should alter our Edicts some to give us a boost somewhere? We could bump both our Promotions to Standard and our Holidays to 6, giving us a +1 to both Stability and Loyalty, and our Consumption would end up being 0. Thoughts?

Black Dow |

@Darian: Cheers for the flag :)
Here's Pekk's sampan: Le Fortune Capricieuse...

Darian Aulamaxa |

Doing some lurking on the Roll20 page if anyone wants to join me.
Pekk: Thanks on the flag. I know it’s basic, but it was just a quick draft before I came in to work. I trust one of the others can come up with something far more fitting.

GM_DBH |

Well as soon as Peck introduces himself to you we can get some adventuring started.
You have the Old witch Freya encountered. The mysterious conspiracy uniting various groups against you, and a lot more exploring to do.
We've done this months rolls, construction has started on the new buildings. Time to start Murderhobo... Adventuring again.

Pekk Carndellvyn |

Thinking Pekk will arrive at the castle on the morrow, moor up nearby and seek an audience with the ruling council to offer his services.
Guards would likely describe him as a flamboyantly dressed gnome - one of the river-folk.
Not sure if you want to set the scene GM_DBH or for me to just kick on? Would likely be more "organic" if the PCs hear they have a gnome visitor seeking an audience.

I thought we were agreed on doing a long run of kingdom building? Get to the end of the year and have Silverhold properly established? That's why I did two kingdom turns and have been asking for GM rolls.
The AP assumes that we take some considerable lengths of time to build the kingdom up IIRC. If we keep going on adventures between kingdom turns we won't have much of a kingdom to rule before we finish book 2!
re Kingdom:
1. Service personnel: 1 valet, 2 ladies-in-waiting, 1 herald, 1 butler, 3 cooks, 4 footmen/maids and 3 gardeners I think. :)
2. I'm going to keep pushing consumption lowering improvements, but yes I think we can up promotion and holidays. Since -2 consumption doesn't help us each turn it would be worth making use of it!

Ahhh. The whole recruitment becomes clear now... :)

Darian Aulamaxa |

Lol Pekk!
Also, I agree we need to hammer out some Kingdom Turns in bulk. But also don’t wanna leave Pekk hanging in the wind. Let’s go see if, as a team (with Pekk), we can figure out this swamp witch and maybe get the gnome explorer group to be more cooperative, then come back and knock the rest of the year out?

Darian Aulamaxa |

Pekk, based on DBH’s post above, I don’t think he’d mind if you took the lead on getting the groundwork of your introduction posted. Hell, if you’d like, you could just so happen upon Darian at some point when he’s by the lake/river. He likes going there to think. Though, you may not know he’s anyone of importance, since when he’s not in a formal occasion or adventuring he’s in work clothes helping out around the town with the construction of buildings.

Pekk Carndellvyn |

Cool - I'll get something crafted and up on the assumption that Darian is musing by the lake.
Would indeed be good to get intros done and jump in (presuming of course you find a place/use for the river scoundrel)

Darian Aulamaxa |

Gonna be hanging around on the Roll20 page today as work and the busted Wi-Fi signal allows. Feel free to pop in and chat if any of you would like!

Pekk Carndellvyn |

Gang - know its early days but I'm not really "feeling" it with Pekk - struggling to get a grip on both the character and make headway in the game.
Not a criticism of the game or your style at all - more my RP mojo not kicking into gear.
Last thing I want to feel is a passenger, but likewise need to hit the ground running (which I just don't feel I'm doing)...
I also don't want to waste collective time as you're a tight group with some very specific ideas.
Thoughts/Feedback appreciated
BD
EDIT: I'm an experienced player (and pbp'er) who takes pride in my RP and normally find a groove or voice of a character (and feel for a game) pretty quick. Don't think that's clicked here hence my honest post above.

![]() |

Can you be any more specific? Is it that you aren't gelling with us as a group or is it the character that you are having trouble with?
We did ask for something pretty specific, so if that's the problem then we can collectively look for a work around (Trap Finder trait from MM would cover it for most classes along with some DD).
If it's the group then obviously that's a bit harder...
Thank you for your honesty regardless :)

Pekk Carndellvyn |

Nah not the group - am enjoying the posts (and your story thusfar) - just conscious that I'm not getting into the groove of the game early (which is not me normally) - could be I'm jumping the gun as it is early days.
Pekk is a skills monkey and I've built him very much with the Spymaster role in mind (as well as designated trap-finder). And I also know he's got loads of potential...
Possibly just the "new kid at school" syndrome lol.

I've thought you were doing just fine. I personally am the type of PBP roleplayer that thrives off of interaction with the other PC's and NPC's, so if you ever need a character to bounce a post off of to get something rolling for your characters RP, by all means fire a post my way.
I've enjoyed Pekk's style and charismatic flair in his personality, and agree he has good potential for the game.

Freya Velson |

I have to agree with Darian, I think you are doing just fine. (Freya is a little hard to get out of her shell, socially - so don't base any opinions on any (lack of) interactions with her)
I think you might be on to something with the "new kid at school" thing. I've always found it more difficult to integrate into an established group as opposed to being involved from the ground floor.

Pekk Carndellvyn |

Think that is the case - normally I'm part of the group from the ground up and build interactions from there.
Heads a bit fried from work - so likely am overthinking this :)
Cheers for the input and I'll keep finding Pekk's voice!

Lisl Morozov |

Pekk also has a very distinctive voice from our existing party. Our team is mostly humans and near-humans. Pekk's perspective is outside that. This means his motivations tend to skew quite far afield from the rest of the team. While Lisl hasn't had much to say, she's definitely a law-and-order person so that doesn't give us a lot of room to overlap in early meetings.
The other problem is that you are arriving just as we are going into the investigation phase of a detective jaunt. Many adventures form an early bond by dumping everyone together into a fight. That's not happening so you're being pushed into a slow burn scenario and you have no reference handle to talk about any of the backstory or prior events that the rest of us have together.
I'd recommend pushing through the werewolf investigation, then see how you feel as we enter the next crisis.

Josef Orlovsky |

I'm taking the troop to summer camp.
We'll leave on the morning of 7 July, and return on the afternoon of 15 July.
I'm told as an adult, I will have access to a wifi hot spot, so I should be able to connect between Sunday night and Saturday morning, whether there's a good cell signal or not. I don't know how close or distant that hot spot will be from my campsite, nor how full the camp will work to keep my schedule, but I should be able to check in at least 3 times while there. Hopefully every night. We'll see, I guess.

![]() |

Month 2 has started, you've got the claiming of a new hex and what to build sorted out, picked up little bonus magic item.
So adventuring. Going to head out and look around this month?
This was for your other group right? We're a bit past month 2...

GM_DBH |

Well Blood of the Moon and Horror adventures hasn't given me much more than what's in the rulebook regarding lycanthropy. The only cures given are eating wolfsbane/Belladonna within an hour, or Remove disease, or Heal, cast by a 12th level caster within 3 days of being wounded.
The other possible option is to track down whoever turned Kundal into a werewolf, kill them and then have him eat 6 doses of wolfsbane on a night of a full moon?
I leave it in your hands, if the party wishes to attempt the difficult task of tracking down the werewolf and dealing with them I can set something up.
Or you can kill him.

![]() |

Could Break Enchantment do it?
Otherwise we pretty much have to a. try and track down the werewolf, b. accept Kundal's word and lock him up for a few days over every full moon, c. off him.
I'm not keen on option c!

Darian Aulamaxa |

Well, my question is this then:
What do we know of lycanthrope in character? Do we know for certain it is only a problem around a full moon? Do we know how the curse is spread? Do we know that a jail cell will be enough to hold Kundal?
If we have doubts on any of these points, Darian's primary concern would be the risk of more people being killed, or the curse spreading further. If we cannot reliably, in character, know that we can control this man's affliction, then the safest thing for all of our citizens, and the world at large, would be to try this man for his crimes (sickness or not) and then administer punishment based on the result of the trial.
If it comes to a trial, I'm not asking for a big involved scene. Just what a jury of randomly selected members of the citizenry would decide, guilt or innocence. Then the punishment falls to us to decide at that time.

GM_DBH |

Freya's roll for information has given you this, all you can do is ask Kundal if he knows who might have infected him. It is very recent, so recent he hasn't been aware of his changes except for thinking them bad dreams.
There is also the Witch Freya and co encountered in the swamp to the SW of your town. Perhaps she might know something?
Lets get some action and exploring happening before the game comes to a dead halt.

Hey All
Still not really "feeling" this character or the game - can't quite put my finger on it, but am conscious that the last thing I want to do is fall into a pattern of token posts that bring little to the campaign.
Thought about this throughout the week and to be honest it might be best for me to drop out before any more of your collective time is wasted.
Like I touched on before - this is not typically me, but I've done a bunch of reviewing of the character (who is a lot of fun on paper) - and feel its more down my own personal mindset coming into such a tight-knit game at this juncture.
I've enjoyed the short time, but feel its time to bid Adieu to this one. Apologies if you feel I've wasted your time, its been fun and the game is a good 'un - alas just not for me.
To those that already play alongside me - see you in the other games. To those that don't - hope to have the opportunity to game alongside you again down the line.
Cheers & Apologies Again

Hey Everyone, I'm away for the next twelve days in Florida - going to Disney World for the first time!
I won't be able to check my games while I'm away so I'm on pause until the 10th (or possibly the 11th if I'm too jet-lagged!).
Please feel free to bot me as the situation requires!
Have fun mushroom hunting! :P
