The first question is getting to Oleg's trading post? Do you want to arrange horses and ponies for all, get some form of cart, or travel by foot (Mainly) as you are?

I've neither horse nor funds for one, but if the party is willing to travel at a 40' speed, I'm pretty quick on my feet.

I have a horse (let's hear it for the extra gold from the brigand trait). Like I said in the gameplay thread, worse comes to worse we can double up on horses or switch on and off to keep folks from being fatigued, if other arrangements can't be made.

Do we know if Oleg's is an arduous trip from Restov, or rather close?

It depends on the means of travel, by foot it would take a full day to reach Oleg's. There is a road though as merchants do travel to Oleg's regularly. Both to deliver stock to Oleg's store, and collect the pelts the local trappers sell to Oleg.

Hmmm, had to really dig it up since the module didn't state it anywhere.

it's about 90 miles from Restov to Oleg's, which is about 7.5 hexes on the map. Average party speed of 30 covers a plains hex in 5 hours. There is the South Rostland road between Restov and Oleg's, so I'd say 4 hours a hex on a dirt road.

Which works out about 2 hexes a day, 3 if you push it past 8 hours travel. 2 days travel if pushing hard. 3 days travel if sticking to 8 hours a day.

There are two stops on the way.

Nivakta's Crossing is about 20 miles out of Restov. It has people living there.

Fort Serenko: maybe another 22-26 miles from Nivakta's, but is abandoned.

So a light wagon is 50 gold and can be pulled by 1 horse. Would that increase our pace? Plus having a wagon later may come in handy.

Along with that I have a horse as well. My horse might be a better candidate for pulling the wagon than Rok's, as there is a significantly higher chance that she will make better use of being mounted than I would.

Rok can cover the wagon if need be, I still have quite a bit of gold left (Cavaliers start with a bit plus the Brigand feat). Kasper pulling the wagon is certainly a temporary solution, until we can afford a work horse.

Also I know it's a bit easier to do this in ooc discussion, but I find solving these problems in character to be a bit more fulfilling in the long run.

I'm on board with IC solution finding. Which is why I made mention both places. ;-P

Isabel has 23 gold, I'm sure she'd likely throw 10 in as well, leaving 10 to go. If Rock throws another 10 at it we'd have it and put less burden on her alone.

Looking at the movement tables a cart or wagon does 2 miles an hour, so 16 miles day. You'd walk faster than that at 3/hour - 24/day. Except you have a Halfling. :)

A light Wagon costs 50gp. A cart 15gp. A donkey or mule 8gp.

Re: sleep spell casting time -

I see now no full round actions during the surprise round...I suppose you could assume I starting prepping the spell before the round occurred. You'll have to forgive the sloppiness - last time playing Pathfinder was five years ago.
