Ton dashes forward as best he can, cursing with every step until he reaches Wulf's side.
Once there he extends his hand toward the gargoyle and unleashes a riotous cacophony of colour that washes over the enemy.

LaRA's crossbow fires another bolt, which flies past the creature and impacts the wall. Observation: Hand-Eye coordination below adequate levels. Suggestion: Explore alternative prolongued combat methods., the android ponders, before reloading another bolt.
Zeke cocks his pistol and channels magical energy into the barrel, causing the burnished metal to crackle and shine with eldritch power (he uses his mage bullets spellslinger ability, sacrificing true strike to give his gun a +1 enhancement bonus as a swift action). Then he aims it carefully at the creature and fires off a booming shot!
Garfaulk runs into the room hearing the commotion to find his allies battling with the large gargoyle-like creature, though had feeling there was something different about that one.

Ton, Garfaulk, and Charles all bring the pain, but it is Zeke that finishes it off. His gunshot blows of the gargoyle leg entirely, and it falls down, dead.

With the gargoyle dead, you get a better look at the altar. It is a crude, cobbled together thing, but the denizens of the engineering level must take it seriously, because generous offerings are piled in front of it: 48 silverdisks, a pair of technological googles, some type of injector that looks like it can inject liquids, two rolls of sticky paper, a wand-like device that emits of spark of electricity, and a technological helmet.

With his wounds getting worse and blood starting to soak up into this ragged shirt he shouts out at the creature. Ton turns away at the last second but still feels the warm spatter of blood and brains on his shoulder and neck.
"Drek's sake, Wulf! It was dead, it had no leg left!" the elf moans as he scoops bits of gargoyle viscera off himself and flicks it on the ground.
He lets out a long sigh and begins picking through the junkpile, separating out anything that looks vaguely useful.

LaRA blinkers at the viscera, then raises her hand. "Imitating hygienic sweep.", she announces, as her hand begins rolling over the members of the party. The blood and goop begin to disappear. "Suggestion: test technological items in controlled environment. In the event of terminal damage or severely debilitating effects, this will not negatively impact the unit's combative performance."
Staring at the altar, she begins analysing the sharp features of the build. "There is strong indication that the item in front is a theologically important object to the denizens of the ship. Learning about their deity's tenets would grant us potential leverage."
Unfortunately, there is nothing else to glean from the altar.
Looking around the room, there is a door to the south and to the north. A large doorway framed in an arch with red pulsating lights lies to the east, but you can see the door is locked with a red access panel.
As the dwarf is proud to see his blast from Slagbreather blow a hole through the gargoyle, he does notice his spell have little effect on him, and sees Wulf hitting it though down. Seeing the rage in his eyes and his metal skin tensing, Garfaulk holstered his weapon, then leaned into view of the larger man. "Are you ok there pup? Ya seem a bit... tense there. Zeke whispers an exasperated plea to his god as his gun jams.
Garfaulk winced as he heard the telltale sound of black powder going off without a bullet, almost a hissing voice l nose to go along with the bang. Seeing the room before him was too tight for his scattershot anyways, he looked to Zeke with a mischievous grin, reaching out and touching the weapon. "I'm good fer a bit more on what ya made before, but yer weapon looks a bit rough there" A bright blue sparking energy enveloped the gun, making it look like the wire that had thrown Zeke acrid the room once before-but the energies seemed to bend the broken pieces along the exterior of the gun back into place. "Tha should hold fer a few seconds. Blast em while ya can!"
Then he drew his weapon and started to change from scattershot to single slugs, grinning at Zeke "Make tha count!"

Charles puts a bolt right into the heart of the orc that Zeke already hit. [crit card= Heart Shot, +1 crit multiplier and 1 Con bleed per turn til healed]. extra damage:1d3 ⇒ 1. The orc drops below 0, but rage and ferocity push him on.
Ton steps up and sprays out his magic. Somehow, they resist it all! wow! sorry Ton... at least these rolls weren't to hit you
Ugh, sorry this is a problem for PBP. Does Wulf hit the one that is nearly dead, or lower another orc to the nearly dead state? I'm going to go with kill one. We can talk more about it later if you think I should have done choice B.
Wulf steps up and decapitates the injured orc.
Zeke jams his gun, but Garfaulk is right there to fix the gun- temporarily, at least! cool spell!
Putting himself right in the front of things, Wulf draws the attacks!
An orc swings at him! Another orc steps up and swings at Charles. Neither hit.
Seeing their friend just cut down mercilessly, the two orcs start yelling..."Ok, now! They aren't coming any further into the room... Get yer asses out here now!"
Doors around the room pop open and ratfolk pour in! It was a trap!
3 ratfolk open doors and get into position- they can't attack this round. However, two ratfolk can and do attack-- swarming and trying to dealing sneak attack damage to Ton and Wulf! The final ratfolk is not able to reach a target, and instead just fires his handcross bow at Garfaulk.
NOBODY hits anything. (Look at those rolls, not one above a 10. I can only roll good when it is against Ton's spells).
Zeke beams as Garfaulk magically repairs his pistol. "Not a moment too soon, Mr. Sharpstone!" he cries, and quickly reloads. Then he takes aim and fires at the orc flanking Wulf.

Wulf and Charles take down an orc; LaRA drills an icicle smack dab in the middle of an orc chest (did not confirm, due to cover, but doesn't matter).
Ton pulls back his bow and gets two swings against him, but they miss! Then he releases and amazing dual shot- one arrow thunks into a ratfolk and nearly kills it, and at the same time a magically enhanced arrow goes through the eye of another, killing it instantly.

LaRA nods at Zeke, as her eyes begin glowing once more. "Altering elemental formula.", she blurts out, as the dirt in the room begins bubbling. "Warning: Arcane resources at critical levels!", she adds, as the extradimentional rift begins to appear in the room.
Making the most of the quick-fix Garfaulk arranged, Zeke drops another cartridge in his pistol and fires at the rat-person who has moved into the space in front of Wulf and Charles.
Garfaulk downs a wounded rat, Ton takes out another, and Wulf yet another. Charles and Zeke both miss (Zeke firing through cover doesn't help)... LaRA casts a spell, but it probably won't even matter at this point.
The two remaining rats glance at each other. They know this is it, their friends were quickly downed, and they will follow. They picked the wrong side. But they go out swinging... both at Wulf.
With the fight over, Zeke's gun made an awful screeching noise, the metal bending back into place as the sparks from his spell suddenly arced out from the gun, again like a downed wire. The dwarf took a sigh of relief as the rats were down. Enjoy Mastauche, I think it's ok for the game to slow down a little with a player downish with Ton. I'd prefer it so we don't miss out on anyone's posting.
Overall I've liked everything. But I have to say drinking the black slime was pretty fun and what came of it. But Wulf jumping through the window was a very good introduction.
I really enjoyed the battle with the robots when we were trying to rescue Khonnir Baine. Also the loose style of the fight with Sanvil, which was kind of like a scene in a movie and just as interesting. In general the roleplaying between fights has been really fun; you've been making the NPCs very engaging and there's been decisions mixed into our social interactions.
The social aspect has been great, as has the pacing. I'm a big fan of the skill challenges too! But the npcs are fantastic, each really does feel unique and engaging.

As for favorites ...the whole thing with Sanvil and Sammy was amazing, of course. Combats are clear and quick, the RP and NPCs are all on point ...this is easily one of the best APs I've played in.
I think my favorite memory was when Garfaulk and Wulf and Zeke all drank the sludge. In particular, Garfaulk nailed a 100 which gave him that permanent glow. I couldn't believe it!
That was amazing. After a while I looked at since other effects-I for real lucky on that 100, and the permanent power is one of the more versatile ones lol
Man, all this makes me kinda want to look at the Mysterious Stranger archetype for gunslinger instead of musketeer, as it makes use of charisma, but musketeer lets me go melee... hmm...
If you want to change your leveling, you have til leaving Torch before it is all locked in. That won't happen for a while yet and I'll give you warning.
See, I didn't even consider the fact that a human LaRA would feel emotions! I was just thinking it would be funny to see you bluff enemies while looking like them... This is so much better! Looking forward to seeing your creativity! There are lots of humanoid shapes to pick from!
Mysterious Stranger makes a ton of sense, Garfaulk, especially if you're just dipping. It gives up the Quick Clear deed, which normal gunslingers really miss, but for a bard with jury-rig and mending that's no problem! Plus getting to spend grit to add your Charisma to damage is very nice. The flavor of the archetype really seems like it fits Garfaulk, too. "Who was that dwarven stranger who saved our town?"
Oh, I was going to suggest that Ton'iel, LaRA, and Zeke swap spellbooks during our downtime. Is that okay with everyone? Much cheaper to copy useful spells from each other than from scrolls, as a backup if nothing else!
Hey LaRA, would your character be willing to craft some scrolls for us? That spell coin shot is pretty good on a scroll, especially as an emergency robot killer spell if someone needs it. I'd love having spells like expeditious retreat, heightened awareness, mage armor, and shield on scrolls so I don't have to prepare them. Also, Zeke had to take four opposition schools, so getting Abjuration and Divination spells on scrolls is better for him since then he doesn't have to spend two slots.
Yeah, funnily enough, I think I might do the change to gunslinger afterall. The musketeer was mainly to get quick clear and rapid reload, so my redone feat would be Rapid Shot, though firing twice with a rapier with a fun with only one bullet at a time was gonna be a problem lol. The parry would've been nice, but charisma to damage is neat lol.
Hmm. Mysterious Stranger it is! Plus, then I get to have another gun! lol.
Also, Zeke, in prep for the next chapter; clerics get Masterwork Transformation as a level two spell. *whistles innocently while sliding Slagbreather in your direction*

Ugh. I've not actually ever played a straight up wizard, so I maaay have forgotten that I have that. That, and I have significantly less time for fun paperwork (e.g. character sheets) nowadays, and a lot more time for boring paperwork (engineering standards adherence), unfortunately.
I'll take a look at what spells you and Ton have, and I'd craft scrolls in the spare time over the week spent in Torch!
Glad to, Garfaulk! The spell costs 300 gp to cast, so I'll just deduct that from your character's total. Otherwise it should just work. We can also do that for anyone else who has a favored weapon that isn't masterwork, of course.
Dual wielding pistols is pretty powerful. Might want to think about that. Though you have to have quick draw and rapid reload for it to make sense in reloading (since it takes a free hand to reload, there is a lot of drawing and holstering involved that I just like to pretend is actually flipping the gun up in the air and reloading in the air. Or juggling the guns somehow.)
I was thinking of going TWF with pistols, though if I did that I'd like to do it with pepperboxes to get rid of the reload issue. Then have the Dragon Pistol as my shotgun, and maybe a Musket for when I run into something with DR lol
The more I think about it, perhaps gunslinger really was more apt for Garfaulk :D

Zeke is holding 2, and in the "party fund" there is 7. I am moving all of those to Ton's inventory.
More and more weapons are going to start to use batteries. You'll have to track them carefully.... The inferno gun uses 1 charge per shot, and each battery holds 10 charges. When you use a battery up, start recording the number of depleted batteries you have.
You will eventually be able to recharge them. There is a third level magus/wizard spell called Recharge that I strongly recommend you take. And you might find a generator or some such thing to also help recharge. You need the proper power cord for it. (Even in the pathfinder world they struggle with getting the right cord for the right device)
Zeke has been recording the cost of all of your crafting in the spreadsheet.
Though I am not exactly sure where everyone's current gold situation is sitting. There are negative and plus's all over the place. You all have a better sense of your cash supply than me. Please everyone take a few minutes to revisit your characters inventory and clean it up as we get ready to jump into the next section.
Ooo, recharge is on the cleric spell list, so Zeke will always have access to it. We just have to get a line on diamond dust. :)
Since Zeke uses lots of consumables and ammunition, I've been adding new gold as line items of a running tally in his column, and updating the gold value at the top with the remaining total after adjustments. I also added lines to everyone else for the stuff he crafted for them, and subtracted that amount from the field at the top.
Ok, after people see how their money has been spent in crafting, be sure to clean up all those lines. I'll go through it at some point too and make it understandable but you all should do it before I get my mitts on it.
Normally in my games I hand wave all material components. Hmmmm.. But 500 gold is really expensive for a single casting of recharge. Pretty much makes the spell worthless.
Yeah, screw it. No fee for casting that spell.
The only thing I am going to charge gold for will be casting raise dead, resurrection, reincarnate, etc.

That's one spell I'm picking up!
I'd love to get the time to update my character sheet, but it seems like I'd have to wait for the weekend. I find my spare time being less and less these past couple of weeks, and it doesn't look like it's slowing down. Although, my weekends should be a lot freer now.
Zeke has these spells in his spellbook if you need to copy them.
If scrolls are eligible for the masterpiece rules, with your Spellcraft score and Zeke's buffing spells you should get to check the percentile dice for a master work on a Spellcraft roll of 3+.
Oh, that reminds me, does anyone need mundane ammunition before we leave Torch? Might be our last chance for a while. Although I do have a gunsmithing kit, so I can probably craft some while we're on the road in an emergency.

About to board flight 5 of 9. This has been an amazing trip and Malaysia is an incredible country, but I'm also looking forward to getting home soon and enjoying some creature comforts again
So we have pretty much covered everything I wanted to for the falling action, and you are all set up to move onto the next book.
But here's the thing, my vacation schedule is a little crazy coming up. This Friday, I will be gone for over a week and I will likely have no internet during it. Then I'll be home for a week... then I'll be gone for another week...
So with all that in mind, do we stay at this paused position until about August 13, or should I start things up today? We are at a good break point, but maybe you would be fine with the start-stop-start-stop. Let me know!

I was just about to mention that I'd be going on a holiday on Saturday, and would likely be patchy for a week. My holiday is actually three weeks from then, so pausing until August 13th sounds pretty good to me - but I'd be more than capable of posting for the first two weeks of April.
My vote goes to pause, but I would be happy either way!

My summer is still up in the air a bit, I'm still visiting my parents in KY and helping them recover from surgeries. I could keep playing stop and start or wait, either way.
If we pause here, we could theoretically continue roleplaying with each other, whereas if we pause after we leave our scene options might be more limited.
Ok, let's continue the pause on the main story then... You are still in Torch for the time being. Once we hit August I will put in a post that moves you along the road to Scrapwall, and you can continue to interact on your week long journey. August 13 life will go back to normal for me.
Post as often as you can, but try to get at least one in every week or so; I don't want to lose all momentum!
