I will hold hard and fast to the 3rd lvl characters. 1st level is too Meh. 3rd level will allow you to get a good feel for the character and survive the grindeer. If there is any.
As stated before lets try to stick with Pathfinder classes for now.
Reviewing the Occult book, but may stray away from it for now.
Same recruitment rules as before, mostly.
Instead of Tabaxian's Catfolk are able to be used. Pretty much all races are available with permission, no lvl adjustment if possible.
Lapith is one of the few options I will allow as 3pp races go.
If you want to play a centaur thats fine, however they probably should be urban flavor unless it clashes with your character ideas. Most Centaurs have nothing to do with Humans and the like they tend to stick with their own. However Mercenaries exist in all races. >:3

Very nice. :) Two Maguses will be interesting, damage dealing sons of guns!
Don't forget to look at alchemist. That is a really fun class. :D
Alchemist (Grenadier) Is a great combo. Precise bombs allow you to aim. High Int ensures that even your splash damage does decent damage.
Discoveries allow you to gain all sorts fo things. Extra arms (Confirmed that you can dual wield Greatblades if you have four arms. xD

I'm doing a gestalt game where I am Magus (Black Blade, Kensai)/Alchemist (Grenadier)
I have 20 Dex and 22 Int at lvl 1 and so his bombs do a minimum of 7 (1d6+6) and the splash damage is min 7. xD
First encounter I incinerated our opponents in the first round. 13 damage hit versus maggots~

Iobaria Update
Instead of just Campaign Traits I decided to do Party Career paths. An overall party Career idea.
It'll require everyone working together on it but so far I have this. Although I may do separate things as well.
Peasants - Start with Small self suffcient (Farm(House) w/Barn W/ 1+ acres (Based on character background and initial investment) every additional acre gets them a bonus on Profession checks to make money per week.)
Mercenary - Hired out of Restov by the Prince fo Orlov to restore order and bring down several bandit gangs. They are given rights to the abandoned town of Lenusya, so long as they are able to rout the bandits that have taken over the abandoned town...
Orlov Militia - Start with free light armor and a selection of two martial (or lower melee weapons) and one ranged weapon. All of which you are considered proficient with even if your class normally doesn't allow it. No exotic weapons or racial weapons are allowed as a selection without approval. Militia gain access to a (mostly empty) barracks, armory and mess hall as a Base of Operations and work directly for the Prince keeping order in the Commoners Ward. Non-Humans are accepted but are targeted often by intolerant racists among the populace.
Freedom Fighter! - Unhappy with the ruling tyrants of Iobaria, you and several like minded indviduals have broken all ties with the main cities and have struck out on your own. A D10 roll will determine which abandoned site you attempt to make your own and if this route proves popular a mini-adventure will ensue to secure your new home.

Daemon blooded teifling. +2 Dex/Int. Exchange the Tiefling Spell casting for +2 Int. we did a Point for Point 25 point buy. SO i pumped dex and int to 18 each and got 20/22 after mods. >:3 Sorry but I no longer consider optimizing a form of cheating/min/maxing/whatever. The point of the game is to have fun. I played a s~##te druid for two years and when you have to rely on your animal companion because your stat selection SUCKS! That is miserable.
After so many recruitment runs I looked and saw that Everyone, yes DAMN near everyone focuses on optimizing their stats. So I dropped the lets make the character like I picture him/her.
And make someone who is badass because that is what EVERYONE is doing...
How many times do you see people dump Cha and yet there character still rocks in the social looks/confidence department?
So this characters MAD was cut down to three stats instead of 4/5. Primarily Dex (AC,DMG Eventually and other bonuses from Magus BB/Ken, Great for RNG BOMBS Throws for alchemist), Con (Because he's a frontliner, need hp...) and Int (So many things that are in both Alc/Magus its too long to list.
Its like Gestalt Paladin/Oracle reduces MAD. The list goes on.
However I start with 3 Arcana and 7 (1d6+6 fire dmg 5ft splash radius) Bombs at 1st. Screw the bow, chuck a bomb instead!

Does the Career options idea sound hockey need improvement? I thought it would be fitting to have a 'Heres where I came from or live' kinda thing to include in the story. The new Iron Kingdoms game does that. Hell those who choose to be Pirates (Get a fully loaded albeit low end Pirate ship?!) or Thugs/Thieves (Hidden Hideout in a city or along a roadway/in the woods).
So I thought... Hell, why not. It had some appeal to me.
Mercs struck me as the You have what you hold kinda people at least starting out, once you get a reputation you may be assigned nicer halls and such to put your feet up however you are still mercs and some people are bound to dislike/hate you.

Do be brutal in your feedback. I am trying to build something here and if something is too out of the oridnary for people to grasp then I won't waste my time persuing it.
I should have the Campaign traits done by tomorrow. Working on maps has throughly kicked my ass today. Haven't gotten more then 3 hrs of sleep a night for a week now.
But working on it. Campaign traits won't be as neat as the Career benefits but it will serve a purpose.

DM Corerue |

Hit me up with any questions.
3PP material will be limited.
Paizo classes encouraged heavily.
Occult for now is not an option unless you have a strong argument.
Dragonrider is one of the few 3pp homebrew classes (my modification) that may be allowed but as it is still up in the works I only have my basic one available.
Same character building rules except for 3rd level this time.
full 3rd level wealth with the restriction of allocating wealth in 25% for weapons, 25% for armor. that sort of thing. Will allow you to overspend on a particular item, please provide a strong argument.
Campaign traits will be up tomorrow.
No flaws in thus one.
Drawbacks are allowed as they are paizo supported but only gain a Trait.
Each character is allowed 1 Story Feat free.
As I remember the additional stipulations I will post them.
PLaying a Centaur in a merc party means you are Clanless. An outcast. Just FYI, other Centaurs will be cold or open dislike you. UNLESS you have a great story to convince me otherwise!
That is all!
Ask questions if you have them!
ALSO Rich parents will added an additional 900 gp to starting allotment.

DM Corerue |

I know it can be a bear in PBP. but that is why I am using the alternate rules and work to assign specific rolls to only those it matters for.
However I can also just take the rolls and let you all know how things go if no one wants to be saddled with the responsibility. ;) Then you can all blame me! :D
With me doing the rolls you can all still figure what buildings you want and place them~
We'll cross that brige when we get there...

DM Corerue |

I have been looking at the Ultimate Rulership book and the alternate rules are nice. However I am very interested to see what you have. THhere is a lot of advice out there Turin the Mad is crazy cool to read. I swear the man never sleeps....
Replacing two faucets today. Found out that the people who built our house through on industrial grade caulking on the drains... Yay.

Movin |
Heh, I half remebered someone making a magus archetype to let you play an arcane archer from level one. Perhaps Corerue would find such a thing interesting.
If not something to save for the next time you want an arc-archer.
archer homebrew. having seen it in action I'd say its quite nice.
As ive had this question in my games heres my respose. (Spell storing arrows that is)
Listen to it or ignore it as you desire.
Spell storing it is not on the ranged/ammo table because if it was it would be rediculoualy op.
Spell storing shocking grasp arrows would deal at max 5d6 bonus lightning damage a shot
When as an archer you can easily output 4-6 arrows in a round you will burn through them quick but anything you shoot would die. Very very fast.
And thats just a level 1 example. Shooting frost touch arrows for no save staggered conditoon and 4d6 cold damage could be just as bad.

Livain |

Of course Gravity Bow was my best friend in Mariansasu, can't forget it now that I can cast it myself. :)
I just want to get imbue arrow. Is a fireball with the range of a bow great? No. Is it cool...YES!!
Or antimagic arrows for enemy spellcasters.
Looks like spellstoring is melee only :( there goes my fireball barrage idea.
Edit: Yea I rechecked the rules as I was thinking about it watched havoc play titan fall and the sidewinder anti titan weapon was cool.
As long as I get to "one shot" a bone demon again I'll be happy :)

DM Corerue |

Enhathladi Ammunition I know! I captured some bad guys with the old sleep arrows! Min was going all none killing if he didn't need to schtick and it actually helped! That evil alchemist who turned around and helped save some NPCs! That was so much fun. It has been an idea I wanted to steal from him! xD
Archetype AA for magus...
Yes... but it is so gosh darn tempting.
It doesn't look overpowered, it is merging a basically useless PrC now with a way cooler idea in the form of an archetype...
However if it worked with Kensai, my head would explode...
Howeverx2 If I did I think the party would become a 3x magus and one cleric show. And my head and my encounters would implode...
Huntmaster
Cavalier Archtype, anyone familiar with it?
It was created on the boards, became so wildly popular that Paizo made it an Official archetype with the release of a book.
Now if we could find a way to make a better archer archetype for Magus it could be something that we could pursue.
Because the current Archetype is useless... somewhat lol.

Movin |
Huh I had wondered what you were speaking about.
Good thing that's such a unique name though, Enhathladi only came up with something like 6ish hits on google.
Those are some sweet looking magic arrows though for the effects they can pull off unless shooting them is a standard action they are frighteningly under costed.
and yes the burst damage potential of a 3 magus party would be terrifying.
Though they still get outshone by a Druid/tiger Abusing the frostbite spell to its full ability.
And yes it is sad Paizo has yet to develop a ranged magus option, though I guess it could possibly happen in future. Swashbuckler is basically a L1-20 version of the duelist after all.

DM Corerue |

True, but like Huntmaster for cavalier.
Players can definitely make things happen as Pathfinder technically owns our comments on the boards. :3
But it was from an old game, my apolgies. It was by far the most epic game since ever for us! Miss our old GM but he fell out due to RL/Health stuff. =/
Look up Legacy of Marinasu, Seers Journey or Mists of War Or Dmdownrightamazed. Under the campaign tab there was more about those arrows. I also adopted some of his home rules for critical fumbles and trapfinding.

Movin |
Already looked it up ('s why I commented like I knew what they were.)
Cool concept, reminds me of a face to face where a player running an archer got a quiver of green arrow arrows. One made a summoned holly tree like a feather token. Murdered a lich and his 2 high level vampire guards just as he succeed at his phylactery ritual by inflicting large quantities of wood on them.

Maiathreen |

OOOHHH I didn't realaize you were thinking magus. :)
Joke: Cavalier never leave you stead behind. ^_^
Serious: Blood Rager would be cool with a centaur...LA GASP!! Draconic Bloodline...then we only need to convince everyone else to be dragonblooded and we'd all be related O_O
This is turning out to be a very arcane heavy group....I like it :)
