Dvezda Marches is were the Rashalka centaurs call the Hoofwood home. The four most populous clans are Kraask, Phelor, Tsurvom, and Voaldyn. All these clans are plains and forest runners with strong oral conditions.
It is these clans that created a semi-permanent Centaur Capital named Vurnirn, where they focus on peacful relations with the other clans. It is also there hold important meetings and plan actions in response to threats or issues the clans are all facing.
They have a strong oral tradition, teaching the younger generations while they travers the Hoofwood.
The hills of Nomen[/i]
Spanning across the Tosrs of Levigne and Icerime peaks to the far off stolen lands. An old clan, despite their becoming fewer in number, hold strong to their tradition of efending otheir territory from trespassers. However the reasons for this are lost. Like the Rashalka clans they are mighty plains runners, forest hunters and skilled mountaineers. Traverse all their territories far more quickly then any forign invader. They have defeated a number of armies over the years and have proven the superiority of centaurs over the bipedal races.
[b]The Rugged Azorva
Their tribes stay mostly in the Syrzemyan Highlands. Prefering the central regions and caverns that lay beneath the hills there. It is there the legendary Caverns of Pirthous reside, never found or mapped by anyone who has lived to tell the tale. They are rugged mountaineers as well kniwn for their heavy coats and stocky builds.

DM Corerue |

Correct. Centaurs don't, for good reason, ally with non-centaurs often. too many times it has led to betrayal, death of clans and worse - enslavement at the hands of other races. Primarily Humans, Centaurs and Human's do not get along well in most countries around Iobaria.
The Nomen Centaur's (Primarily in the Stolen Lands) have been invaded many times by the Taldor in the ages of expedition and expansion. These invasions resulted in the deaths of many centaurs and ultimately the invaders were destroyed or driven out of their lands. But due to their oral traditions the racial memory of these attacks are not easily forgotten.
In Iobaria Centaur tribes have raided and razed several villages and sacked even the largest of the Iobarian cities and for over 400 years their was racial hatred between them and the humans of the land. This hatred has never truly died out but the eastern Iobarian cities are finally allowing Centaurs into their towns to trade goods.
Centaurs and humans have banded together at times, a Centaur clan on the brink of destruction by malformed frost giants and ogres were saved when several Iobarian villages rallied their militia and banded together to drive the giants back. in this fight both allied forces suffered terrible casualties. Orlov's leader at the time antagonized the giants to assail the crumbling capitals ancient fortifications and the giants took the bait, however they suffered a total defeat when they couldn't breach Orlov's walls. Only to recieve maximum damage from the siege weapons and amassed militia's bowmen defending her walls.
Despite these temporary alliances both sides have held onto a mutual distrust of the each other.
Any Centaur wouldn't never full ally themselves with the humanoid races, even elves, without having good reason.
So Oathbound, Born Slave or Outcast you can play your story up as you need to. I will retract my Earlier YOUR JUST AN OUTCAST statement as I was not completely aware of the history of Iobaria when I mispoke.
Hope that helps. :/
As stated above, some Centaurs will kill any non-centaur that finds their wintering den, or trespasses on their lands. However there are places that Humans/Others know not to Trespass. Like The Hoofwood or Virnirn are majo examples. Unless invited and escorted there, they are not welcome. However even a clan-less Centaur can be judged an enemy but more then likely they will be challenged by one or more challengers for trespassing on another Clans territory without permission.
Centaur Pics HOO!

DM Corerue |

Nope... >.>; I missed it lol let em look~
Oh my! I love the pic, I've seen it many times before. Its one of my favorites in Deviant art. XD
Centaurs
You may have whatever look appeals to you, I have always imagined Centaurs as being a bit more bestial but since you have Tieflings, Aasimar's and such I can see them being more human, more bestial or a bit of something else.
Looking forward to your creative ideas. :)

Rhavenna |

Cool. Part of why I love that pic is that it has the right balance of human, animal and a sort of Fey, otherworldly aura. So maybe being a bit of a bleeding heart get's her exile status for aiding rather than killing lost and wounded who wandered into the Hoofwood unwittingly.

DM Corerue |

ugh long day.
Back at camp.
Working on posts, updating map.
So~
Rhavenna
That pick is pretty neat, although I don't see the flaming hooves and bow just yet but even without those it definitely screams Fey-accents. :) At least S&S added some decent female avatar poses too for your character avater you have now. :D
Livain
I vaguely recall reading that over once. I will check to see if I have it downloaded still but I don't see any issues with it. Crafting is a nice thing to have, Mythic makes it godly lol. However give me a day to read it over please. :)
If I remember correctly it was a small PDF. o.o? Right?

Movin |
I had thought the other slot was reserved for someone else.
I made a post about a concept up the thread while ago.
Social master/party buffer and healer.
He'd be a cleric with an archetype for bardic inspirations, healing and the knowledge domain so he could punch monsters and learn about them like he had studied them for months in an ancient library.
.
.
He might also worship an elder deity from beyond the stars.
Maybe.
Yog-Sothoth is an awesome god after all.
I mean just to add onto the whole 'hated by everyone' vibe the rest of the players were talking about earlier.
@Livian- Crafting is a strange beast. CWI is an excellent feat to select if you can squeeze it into your build. Archery tends to eat quite a pile of feats before it will let you go. Looks like you have most of the necessary ones though, well excepting Deadly aim.
EDIT: Hrmm.. wait you don't have rapid shot? No, you should definitely take rapid shot. Rapid shot for archers is like Natural spell for druids, you just don't not take it.
though that would bring up the question of how/if Corerue wants to faff abut with the magic item creation system before we begin rolling.

Movin |
@Livain. Would really depend on how much downtime Corerue plans on giving us. I know kingmaker had weeks, months and sometimes years in between important events so if we are following a similar path crafting would be a great idea.
@Maiathreen,That could work.
Amusingly enough Yog-Sothoth is stated as a Chaotic neutral being. So I could be chaotic good and still worship him, though its hard to worship an animate concept as a 'god'. Yoggie is time after all.
I could easily play him as a misunderstood doomsayer due to the fact that next to nobody even knows who or what the 'god' he worships is. He isn't bringing about an unforseen Epoch because when Yog-sothoth wakes up and starts wrecking things its because Yog-sothoth wanted to not because cultists killed 10,000 fluffy bunnies in his name.
Oh and what stat system are we using for this one?

DM Corerue |

Same as the other game. I tend to stick with just that one.
So rolling will be as followed:
For each attribute, roll 4d6, dropping the lowest die. If you rolled less than a 7, re-roll, i.e., 7 is the minimum allowed attribute score. In addition, roll 7 attribute scores and drop the lowest. Assign attribute scores as you will. Alternately, you may employ "epic rules" and roll 1d3+15 for any attribute you choose, BUT for every attribute you roll this way, you must roll one other attribute as 1d10+6. So let's say you're rolling a sorcerer(ess). You would probably want to roll 1d3+15 for your charisma, and then take 1d10+6 for maybe strength or dex, leaving your other attributes as standard rolls.
Apologies on lack of posting last night, camp internet was shut down until a little bit ago today. System upgrades...
More like no youtube, no face book, no anything with live streaming attached to it.
Blargh. Youtube music is gone. :(
Downtime
As the Career Options shows, there will be times where you are either building up a base or a nation (once we get there). So there will be plenty of time for Downtime. However I am building a timeline to make Iobaria more alive and less static like.
Even in Kingmaker though important events would be on their own clock and not wait on the Party.
But as you build up, explore and fight.
Other groups will be doing similar things.
However everyone is going to need rest time and so it will more or less be up to you when you put on the breaks and start crafting when we get to that point.

Movin |
stats: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
stats: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (1) + 15 = 16
stats: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
stats: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
stats: 1d3 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
stats: 1d10 + 6 ⇒ (2) + 6 = 8
stats: 4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 1, 6) = 16
Damn, all that fishing for an 18 and not a single hit.
Still one hell of a stat block though.
Will be able to stick with straight cleric on that sort of one.

DM Corerue |

I was trying to segregate the races a little bit but it looks like it won't be that easy hehe. I like diversity too much and being a CORE race bores me to death lately.
So Other races that are available, that won't (hopefully) be killed on sight. Would be other humanoid race types.
So of course you have your core races.
Including Aasimar and Tieflings.
However I am fairly open but let me know what you are thinking of and I will let you know.
One that is available other then the ones that the others have chosen it is Skinwalker.
I love the idea of a breed of Lycan especially in a place known for them.
Although...
two Centaurs and two flying magus's seems really neat lol. xD
Just got off work (thank god) heading to my camp and hopefully the internet is still going. :/

Movin |
Eh, I don't really want to step on Rhavenna's concept. I suppose I could rock the astrologist idea and just have him accidentally hear the song of spheres.
Don't know if one of the centaur tribes would have a heavy following in astrology but perhaps that could be the point. Dead tribe, inquisitors burned it out because worship of the elder gods is dangerous. They don't do anything with the energy of their followers far as can be discovered but the simple act of giving it to them is concerning.
Hence there are those who act in the best interest of the world to kill those who would follow them.
Dunno though, I'd be just fine sticking with human. My only hang up would be being the only person in the party without dark vision. Forcing the rest of the party to deal with a light source is annoying to me.
Hrmm.. don't suppose I could make the case for the Entropic simple template on a human?

Rhavenna |

Since my preliminary layout was done with 20 pt buy here goes nothing
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (3) + 15 = 18
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
1d3 + 15 ⇒ (2) + 15 = 17
1d10 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Wow, and that's before racial modifiers. Uhm I think I'm the party tank whether I mean to be or not.

DM Corerue |

This is all a test so I am looking forward to how tough you all are.
A strong Tank will be a good thing I think lol!
You guys will be one of the most mobile parties i've seen in awhile. However unlike most Flight doesn't bother me. If someone knocks you from the sky well.. your toast. So most players aren't overly abusive of flight if they are smart. ;D
Which I know you guys are. :)
Looking at the Entropic Simple Template right now~

DM Corerue |

Iobaria is so much smaller than the Stolen lands. xD
So sad~
It barely takes up one map of kingmaker (supposedly) but we know how Paizo maps have held up when compared to the world map... >.<;
I wonder if I need to make a possible 'Invasion of Galt scenario...'
Anywho. Once characters are ready to go I am ready to kick this off!

Movin |
*shrug*
Eh, I'd been interested in it because there are absolutely no 'warped by abberant powers' races floating around. Something like a 3.5 changeling, with a powerful aberration in his blood, could be very interesting to run. Trouble is that is an avenue Paizo does not seem to have invested in. Closest I can find to aberration blooded would be pathfinder changelings which are the spawn of sea/blood/night Hags. That isn't really the direction I'm trying to roll.
I could go for an Aasimar but I find them disappointing as a race.
I'd be willing to drop the whole thing and rock a centuar but I want to know how severe of a penalty I'd be looking at for this game in social instances.
My build is focused on social skills and support magic so the information you've given us so far is making me think picking a centuar as the 'speaky words guy' is a very bad decision.

Rhavenna |

How about a fetchling? A human touched by something "other" especially depending on how Corerue chooses to interpret being touched by the Plane of Shadow
Between the Disguise self ability and the Emissary alternate trait you can do really well as the face.

Movin |
If the centaur is as abad I thing I think it is social wise I might still pick it.
If anything it could be much more interesting to be a mercenary group that is doing badly in the same way that firefly is a great show about a mercenary group that keeps failing at their job.
Would mean we have a reliable source of plot hooks too.
I'll think on options once I get a response from Corerue, still looking at human and Centaur as the big contenders.
I feel the human would be best for the balance and means of acting as 'Face' but I've never had a chance to play a centaur before so I kinda want to try the horsey glory.

DM Corerue |

The drakeplague, caused a multitude of symptoms to dragons. Madness being the most common result and death being the worst. The Drakeplague was ended however in...
4519 AR The Drakeplague kills more than 60% of the dragon population (In Iobaria) within 3 months. The silver dragon Cithaythren and Finadar druids perform a ritual to end the plague before it spreads beyond Iobaria at the cost of that dragon's life.
The Drakeplague hasn't been seen since, but along with many of the plagues it may just mean that the Local population has grown more resistant, not immune, to the disease. Like the Dvezda Centaurs, the plague targeted centaurs heavily and the generations that survived afterward are more resistant to it.
Other then the above. Nothing else is known, Drakeplague is described as having symptoms but none are fleshed out. Other then Madness and Death.
Movin
I recanted my earlier statement and removed it from the campaign info thread as well on Centaurs.
For the most part on the eastern side of Iobaria centaurs are allowed within the cities and generally treated indifferently/suspiciously due to those towns long history with centaur raiders.
Western Iobaria find Centaurs a nuisance and depending on the size of the settlement is how bad the social standings will be. Isolated Thorp's will be very cold or hostile to centaur types. Considering them to be raiders trying to scope them out.
Iobaria is a hard country with an Ulfen background, which I picture the ulfen to be like vikings of old/Conan like after reading the Land of Linnorm Kings. So they respect strength and so unless they have numbers or sufficient reason to confront you. Then most will avoid Centaur's or make their dealings with them very short and too the point.
So Long story short. People will treat you indifferent or coldly, you may face higher prices for wares out of the racial tension and very few times will a hostile situation occur. More then likely if you run into a hostile NPC in town they just won't deal with, just like society today you can refuse service or demand a certain individual (who is being disruptive or offensive) leave your place of business or, through mutual group support, that particular area of town.
Centaur's can and may treat you the same way if you are clanless. If you are an openly known outcast or betrayer of their kind, of course, expect much worse. Unlike humans centaurs of Iobaria don't forgive easily and tend to group up quickly to deal with a mutual threat or possible threat.

Movin |
Joy. Which means we really do need a 'normal' humanoid if we want to stand any chance at all of getting decent jobs. Getting information from towns peacefully or getting decent prices from superstitious and bigoted nords ulfen.
And I cant see our centaur champion of nature trucking with the chosen of an abberant god unless he happened to be able to pull of some impressive feats.
I have a ready concept for the centaur but I can also see that going that route is going to cause Severe issues later. Hed be the follower of an abberant god and a centaur quite possibly outcast to boot.
I have a personal rule of only one serious problem likely to bite the party in the ass per PC.
EX: Known bastard son of the king, quite possibly going to get drawn into political issures.
This runs up on that issue.
Because he would have normal inquisitors on his butt for worshipping something worse than a demon (eventually, he would do his best to throw off suspicion as long as he could).
And he would be an issue if the wrong centaur spots him at the right time, they purged that clan for a reason.
So im thinking human at this point to reduce my severe issues quota back to 1 and give us an in with the ulfen.
Even if I am a cheating wizard who can turn wood into gold.
At work right now so I wont be able to whip up a stat block for at least anoher 8ish hours.
But I can likely Bs the bare bones at this point if you guys are raring to go.

Livain |

Sooo Making Craft Work PDF?
If sooo....what should the modifiers for some of the special materials that have been added since its original release?
Like fire/frost forged steel? I'm thinking either +2 or +4.I don't think they'd be quite as difficult as say adamantine but that's up to our dear GM. If it's just +2 I can easily craft most of our gear. Including Rhavenna's sword, unless its something from her time with her tribe or anything like that.

DM Corerue |

ATDC? HY LL: 3d100 ⇒ (24, 60, 93) = 177
3d100 ⇒ (83, 56, 53) = 192
Love the making craft work book.
Since there is no supporting evidence of this being a Secret Technique. While Alchemical silver is a supposedly difficult affair to craft... At +2. So Fire forge will be a +2 despite my lingering apprehension.
However its a game, so if its easy on you then~! Its easy for the BBEG's right? ;)
Anywho.
The Blades of Death have access to a Dwarven smith, who would be willing to teach. Although he isn't a kind master so Livain will bare some callouses and scars from being worked to the bone. Oh and he is an avid worshipper of Torag, so forging has to be Just Right. Ya got that NEWBIE!
As for the rest it's going to be difficult to decide.
Frost Forged +2, same difficulty as Fire Forged.
The rest I will look into.
May have an unofficial interview for a better job tomorrow so posting will be light. Sorries :/

Rhavenna |

This is the closest I think:
Lost Legacy (Story)
What once belonged to your family shall be yours again.
Prerequisite: Your family must have claim to an inherited title or position that no longer belongs to them, or have the Dishonored Family background. You can take this feat even if you have no knowledge of this lost family title.
Benefit: You gain a +1 bonus on Charisma-based ability checks and skill checks.
Goal: Regain your family's lost claim, either for yourself or another in your family. In the process of completing this claim, you must decisively defeat a challenging foe that seeks to deny your birthright.
Completion Benefit: You gain a +1 bonus on Wisdom ability checks, Wisdom-based skill checks, and Will saving throws.
Special: If you manage to regain your position without defeating a challenging foe, you may still complete this story feat at a later date if a suitable challenging foe attempts to steal your birthright again.
Not sure that really feels appropriate though.

Rhavenna |

Ok, how's this for a slight flavor tweaking of Champion?
Scion (Story)
You carry the legacy of a legendary warrior race.
Prerequisite: You must have defeated a single challenging foe without any aid from another, or have the Chosen of a God, Avatar of the Fallen, or Last of your Line background.
Benefit: As a swift action, you can declare a single combat challenge to one foe within 50 feet and in line of sight. Upon doing so, you gain a +1 bonus on attack rolls and a +1 dodge bonus to AC against that foe as long as no one else threatens that opponent or until the single combat challenge ends. If another combatant attacks you or your foe, the challenge ends and you take a -2 penalty on attack rolls and to AC for 1 round. Though you can declare a single combat challenge at will, once you declare it on a foe you can't declare it on the same foe for another 24 hours.
Goal: Defeat an appropriate number of challenging foes in single combat. These combats must not be interrupted by other creatures, and the foes must not have already been substantially injured or impaired prior to combat with you.
Completion Benefit: Your bonuses for single combat increase to +2. In addition, any confirmed critical hits you make against such a foe deal an additional 1d6 points of damage.
