Honestly, I think Florentine would rather live the peaceful life in town than go adventuring. She's too old for this.

Maybe she peacefully passed in the real world, and this has obvious consequences in the simulation.

I vote for something happening in-game to her character, maybe being brought down by one of the things we'll be fighting during our investigation. (Which I hope will be some kind of automaton, maybe under the control of a rogue A.I. Been wanting to play in Numeria for a while so I know a bit about it.) Also, hate that you're leaving. Always sucks when a player drops out, though it's nice that you let us know.

As for the number of characters, let's leave it at this for a while, see how it goes.

I agree that an in-character solution would be best, although "choosing regular life in a small town" is certainly a nicer end than "murdered by murderbots," at least in my opinion. As for recruiting a new player, I'd agree with Janice--let's leave it as is for now and see what happens. If we discover we need some assistance, we can start asking around.

?

Yeah, I think choosing a more calm life both more fits the character, and it opens the adventure up to more story hooks.
Alright. Whenever you think the group would benefit from a fresh face, just mention it.
Any chance we could have Florentine say her goodbye?

There we go. It is done. Jaster, feel free to use Flo as a NPC if it comes to it.

I hope to play with you fine people again some day when things line up better.

?

Thank you. It was a good farewell.
Yes, hopefully we'd find each other on the recruitment threads again. Best wishes from now on for ya.

At this point I think I'm going to step away as well. I don't think I'm right for this game.

By the time you guys get back out to the street tin_man has simply left.

Good luck with things further on, folks.

?

Sad to see you leave, Tin_Man. You added a great dynamic to the team while you were here.
Have to ask the team again, now that we're yet another short, do we want to go through recruiting another member/

Wow, two drop outs so soon. And we haven't even reached the first fight. I say recruit one more person and see how it goes before thinking about a second one.

When all is said and done, please remove me from the active player list. (So I only have my active campaigns on my page.)

?

Okay, will do. Also, I've got a submission yesterday. That is, a request for submitting a submition. Should arrive soon. I'll run the character by you guys once I get it.
Additionally, as I am relatively new to PbP, I have no idea how to remove players from the active player list. How would I go about doing that.

Artemiy Sewick | Russian

You can do it by choosing to edit the campaign itself, I believe through accessing the Campaign Info tab. If you scroll down there should be a list of characters, you can choose who's active and inactive. A little off the beaten path to get to, but not difficult once you're there.

?

Okay, we've got a submission for a Tiefling warpriest of Cayden Cailean. Submitted by Wei Ji, the learner. He included a character pitch;

'Sales Pitch'

One would not expect Cayden Cailean to have warpriests. Given his legendry and background, he's sometimes perceived as entirely too 'laid back' to have militant followers of that stripe.

Which is the first interesting tidbit about this prospective applicant.

One typically does not expect clergy of any sort save maybe the Iroran faith or druids to get their 'hands dirty' in a fight, yet this applicant does have that capability.

She is not the most interesting warpriest in the world. But she's got your back, should you desire it.

'Physical Description'

This reasonably buff Tiefling stands approximately six feet in height with a hint of deftness about her actions. Amber has blood red hair, dark brown eyes, and ashen skin.

Her gear is well-cared for, though weathered and worn from the obvious travails of travel. A bow rides alongside her backpack, a quiver on the other, and her leather lamellar armor appears to have been fitted for her quite recently. Though she lacks an alternate weapon at her hip, the claws at the ends of her hands look wickedly sharp.

Her demeanor is cheerful and eager, and reasonably personable despite her rather... demonic appearance.

Sounds interesting so far. Any idea on their "real person" submission, though? That's just as important as their in-character avatar.

? Not much of a speed fanatic, couldn't tell you. Former Retail Worker/13

Since it has been requested, for your perusal...

Character Backstory:

Mario Delgato was about to lose his home.
He'd already lost his wife -- his drinking habits had seen to that, the divorce was clean and merciful.
He'd lost his kids with his wife. Even he couldn't argue that he wasn't the ideal father for them, anymore. Fighting to keep up with the mortage payments, keep the car in working trim, paying for the insurance, and that was when work was good.
Work had been anything BUT good of late. The company he'd worked for most of his life at was in an economic 'death-spiral', and they were laying off people by the dozens each day. Work slow-downs were also a thing, and he'd taken up two addictions during that time.
One was drinking. Usually the cheap or marked-down beer from the local liquor store, the stuff that was pushing the date codes. There was even a betting pool at work about which day he'd show up to work loaded, unable to work, and terminated. Somehow, he'd managed to avoid THAT fate so far.
The second addiction was MMOs. He loved his goat-girls in WoW. He'd even gotten a couple to 'max level' before the Internet got shut off -- not paying the bills tends to do that to a connection.
Yesterday... or to him it was yesterday, the county sheriff had been by to put a notice of eviction on the door, and had given him the polite word that he had thirty days to clear out, or face criminal trespass charges.
Tonight's bender was the stuff of legends. Yet, despite this, the more he drank, the less buzzed he felt, the less foggy. That is, until the inevitable blackout. These things happen.

Character Creation:

Mario blinked a few times as he woke up, surprisingly clear-headed and full of energy. Please Select Race and Class.
His first reaction was that he was dreaming, then his second was that if he was, he didn't want to wake up. The only thing he had to look forward to if he did was a mostly empty house that he was about to lose anyways.
He went through all the races, a process that both felt like it was an eternity and over in an instant before he saw the Tieflings. And immediately he fell in love with the female ones. Even better than the WoW ones, from the way it looked. That was why he picked female characters, after all. Much rather stare at a shapely pixelated woman's butt for however long play was going to be than some guy's rear.
He looked at the classes to see what, if anything would appeal to him. He used to play a priest in WoW... And then Warpriest popped up. That sounded like a good idea.
That is, until he got the prompt to pick a deity. There was no entry for Jesus Christ, custon deities, or such for him. Just a painfully long list of all kinds of different gods, so he spun the list back and forth and picked one with his eyes closed. Cayden Cailean Selected. He pulled up the information on this Cadence fellow...no, Cayden. Wait, The Drunken Hero? Oh that DEFINITELY suited Mario.
The character creation progress was awkward, this whole idea of 'picking' stats was alien to him, aside from minor itemization changes.
When he was done with all this work, he had the prompt for a name. After the fatigue of creating this character, he was exhausted, and could barely think straight. Finally, he typed in the name of one of those marked-down beers that he'd been partaking of so much lately, but paused because it looked way too... too... he backed up and entered the words Ambar Bach and hit the Finished button...

Sounds like an interesting character, and I'm always up for a good follower of the Drunken God.

?

Anyone else's opinion? I'd like to add a new player soon, and I'd prefer not only going on one vote.

Artemiy Sewick | Russian

Sounds interesting and like it could be a fun time. I'd vote yea for Mario/Ambar.

Sorry didn't see the discussion thread had grown.

I agree, a character like that could make very...intresting roleplay, I vote yeah.

?

Then I think that's enough votes for a yes. Now we just have to figure out how you guys meet.

Might I suggest a party 'deus ex machina' for someone who is 'in over her head'? Just a thought?

?

Maybe you run up to the party as they head to the gate wanting to join them? Simple, and it makes sense that you would see something in this party.

Nope, just fine considering the circumstances.

Sorry for my absence. Things have been crazy around here. I've moved and gotten a new job that has me with almost no free time during the week. 10 hour days paired with over an hour of commute time each way. Ick.

Anyways, as it stands, I'm just not able to keep posting in the forums any more. Really sorry about this. Good luck with the campaign!
