Under race and class levels, whatever you put there in your profile will show up.

Also it looks like we have a warpriest (melee), a ranger (melee), a wizard, and as of yet unknown healer. This means we are down a rogue for trapfinding.

I suppose I could change my race to human and pick up trapfinding...will sadly lose out on darkvision and won't be able to play an elf.

Or I suppose I could just wait until lvl4 to pick up trapfinding.

Damien is a healer, and will support the dwarf ranger and the rogue in melee. I think he mentioned there is a rogue in the wings.

I have a feeling Brental is thinking this is a Giantslayer campaign, I've heard no indication of giants. Just MAD mad gobbos lol

Hi! I was invited to play the rogue for the party and I will be posting soon after work.

If you're concerned a warpriest isn't healy enough, I could look back cleric. But a cleric with no archetypes can be a bit boring. The concept I have for him would work with either class really, I think, so what I will do is rerun the concept as a cleric and let the group decide which is more useful. There really is no doubt that the cleric is the best healer in the game. I've never played a warpriest and thought it would be fun, I'd be happier with warpriest if they had any feat support at all. I haven't found anything for increasing or modifying fervor or blessings.

There is a bit of everything to be honest. I won't spoil it though.

The warpriest is almost better at healing than the cleric, but he will be healing himself allot also, but he should be a fine healer. Also the reason for no extra fervor and blessings is that would almost break the class as it increases along with the level, without the serious negative consequences of the barbarians rage (the only other such class feature to constantly multiply)

Warpriest is fine. Let's just get a wand of cure light wounds asap, as our AC as a party isn't very tanky.

how are doing hit points past first? Is ti half plus one like normal?

I tried to mitigate not getting channel until 4th my investing in heal and taking a trait that makes out of combat healing doable without being Cleric By Item. If we are going to have a quiver full of click sticks, then we don't need a healer. The ranger can use the wand I can make something else.

Joshua9093 wrote:

It isn't formal play, (like PFS) so the hit points should be rolled via dice. It is on an honor system, so just roll a die at home, or pull up a random number generator that can work as the corresponding die.

On a side note, I'll probably make a starting post on the game play tomorrow. It will include a recap, and explanation for the change in characters and other info.

1d10 ⇒ 7

Staying honest here. :)

So that's 19HP for this elf.

There is a campaign trait that says there are rumors of giants in the area. I'm not actually taking the train but I'm using that story hook to bring him in. He actually was originally built for a giant slayer game but it only lasted on session and I liked the character I had.

Fort +0| Ref+1| Will+3| Init+1| HP 11/12| AC (11/11/10)

So when worried about healing the person normally is the front line. If, warpriest, they can heal themselves I see that as a solution and argument to you playing a warpriest.

Male Half-Elf Warpriest 2 | HP 18 | AC 17 | touch 13 | flat 14 | Fort +4* | Ref +3* | Will +6* | Init +3 | Perception +7

HP: 1d8 ⇒ 6

Female Half-Elf Rogue 2

Hello, here's the nuts 'n bolts. She still need tweaking...

HP: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

HP: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3

If rerolling 1's on HP is allowed...

HP: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 = 7

HP: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

In pathfinder, generally speaking your first HD is maxed. Also, it is my general house-rule that you may always re roll your first roll for hit dice... however, you must take the second roll no matter what if you take the re roll. (for instance, I roll a four, decide to re roll, and roll a two, I have to take the two.) In this case, take an eight for your first hit dice, and then take the five as your second HD

Female Half-Elf Rogue 2

I'm hoping to have Saoirse's story and such up tomorrow. Sorry for the delay

Female Half-Elf Rogue 2

Saoirse is ready, with your once over. :)

looks good. You have been considered to be travelling along with the group.

Can we not start with sneaking up and stealthing our own part members? I know its fairly innocuous at the moment, and impractical since we are all together and leaving a public place, but I'd rather nip that in the bud right now. The wizard was given the paper, he had the ability to understand it with and without magic, and he can tell us what he found when and if he wants to.

Fort +0| Ref+1| Will+3| Init+1| HP 11/12| AC (11/11/10)

Again, sorry all for the in-game non sharing of knowledge. It seemed important that the sheriff not to know the contents

I do think that it was wise to hide that from the sheriff.

It was a bit of harmless role play since I wasn't given an interduction proper. Nothing more than that.

Aye...seemed harmless enough. Roll well and he didn't see you. Roll poorly and he sees you bumbling over.

But we should discuss the ground rules now, so we're all on the same page. GM, what is and isn't allowed for party interaction?

Generally, I let most role play stuff go. out-of-character and out-of-alignment actions are penalized, but currently we have little to go off of for that. Party interaction is mostly left up to the players, and how in depth or not in depth they wish to go with that.

Male Half-Elf Warpriest 2 | HP 18 | AC 17 | touch 13 | flat 14 | Fort +4* | Ref +3* | Will +6* | Init +3 | Perception +7

Rastislav did nothing wrong, he played it perfectly fine. I'm all for role playing your character. However, when role playing turns into Roll-playing, rolling dice against fellow characters, I feel you've crossed the line. That's my two cents.

We already had this issue come up once before when most of you weren't here where yet, which is why I brought it up in this instance, innocuous as it may be. Admittedly the prior incident was much more egregious as it involved characters who were not even in the location trying to dictate what another character could or could not do.

I'll let it lay and move on, but I truly hope this doesn't pop up again.

Fort +0| Ref+1| Will+3| Init+1| HP 11/12| AC (11/11/10)

Meh, my character is for ya'lls benefit. I will roll with it whatever you do. Sneak around, Pick up, carry, whatever. Too much straight forwardness get boring anyways. My general line is malice. You don't say what my character does(without my permission I suppose) or stab me in the back, I'm good with whatever else.

Pretty much.

Example of what I'm good with:
- Was playing a lawful good character. A chaotic neutral character figured that I'd be upset with poisoning a ship full of aspis, so he used bluff to convince me that he was sneaking off for a more noble goal. It was good RP. I liked that.

Example of what I'm not good with.
- Was playing a chaotic neutral character whose entire goal was stealing clothing from defeated enemies as trophies. Had another character ruin the shirt he was after...because reasons? Never knew why he did it. So I renamed the shirt "the holey shirt of Erastril" and wore it proudly, to show that it didn't get to me. But was irksome that he would do that.

Female Half-Elf Rogue 2

Looks like we got off on the wrong foot. I didn't realize that was going to be such a sensitive subject. My past experiences on the forums have given me equal roleplay in return.

Moving forward, it seems that we're all in agreement to give each other the benefit of the doubt first and be friendly. So with that, let's go investigate that Glassworks!

Fort +0| Ref+1| Will+3| Init+1| HP 11/12| AC (11/11/10)

Let's just go (my opinion). Carefully of course.

I had no idea that Minkaian was the native tongue of Tian Xia. I've always heard it referred to as Tian. But I suppose it has a parallel to Common in that, in-game, it is Taldan.

Noted: Common = Taldan , Tian = Minkaian

Rastislav Tchaikovski wrote:

Yes, on the first, no on the second. Tian is an actual language, and is the "common" of Tian Xia, but Minkaian is the more popular language among the more tribal people of the continent, and still remains rather prevalent amongst the commoners, while Tain is more used for business and courtesan affairs.

Male Half-Elf Warpriest 2 | HP 18 | AC 17 | touch 13 | flat 14 | Fort +4* | Ref +3* | Will +6* | Init +3 | Perception +7

Should I continue to wait my turn until we hear from Saoirse? She is first in the turn order, but we haven't heard from her in awhile.

go ahead and post what you are doing, we will wait for just a little while longer, and I will try to remember to send out a PM tomorrow

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Fort +0| Ref+1| Will+3| Init+1| HP 11/12| AC (11/11/10)

For the sake of PbPs never wait to post your actions for each round. This will die so quick if you do that.

Male Half-Elf Warpriest 2 | HP 18 | AC 17 | touch 13 | flat 14 | Fort +4* | Ref +3* | Will +6* | Init +3 | Perception +7

I just didn't want to cause any confusion by acting out of turn, sorry.

Female Half-Elf Rogue 2

Sorry all. Midterms overtook me faster than I thought and I lost track of time. I usually go along with how Rastislav put it. I don't want to have a game die waiting on me. In the future, I will notify you of any absences that may come along.

So, where are we at in the order? Should I wait until the next round now?

Fort +0| Ref+1| Will+3| Init+1| HP 11/12| AC (11/11/10)

just go for this round

So...new rule? If after 2 days if anyone doesn't post in combat the GM takes over. Sound fair?

Male Dwarf Ranger 2/ AC 17 touch 12 FF 15 13/20 hp

Agreed

That is fine, but I can't post before lunch today, and barely have time to look at this right now, so Saoirse, if you can post your action between now and lunch, go ahead and do so.

I am going to send out a message to everyone, because the new post buttons are broken, and I didn't notice Brentol or Rastislav posts myself for almost a day, so I'm going to give people an extra day or so to post.

What's up with Saoirse?

Could you all send me your email addresses in a private message? That way, I can contact you easier if you happen to be off of paizo for a week or two. This is purely a personal decision

Fort +0| Ref+1| Will+3| Init+1| HP 11/12| AC (11/11/10)

Sorry all for the lack of posting. I have been moving across the country from Michigan to Washington state. Be available in the next couple days.

So, I am nearly out of school, (hopefully for around a year or so) and will try to make a better habit of posting more often. I have tried to keep up the best I could, and hopefully will continue to improve. That being said, I may have a (nearly) dead week of almost no posting in June (11-17) as that is my absolute last week of school, and a week of some rather killer finals (at least, that is what it is shaping up to be) I'm trying to be rather open about this, and warn you guys in advance, but I may not be easy to reach that week. Hopefully, I'll have more downtime than I think, but just wanted to warn you if that is not the case.

Male Half-Elf Warpriest 2 | HP 18 | AC 17 | touch 13 | flat 14 | Fort +4* | Ref +3* | Will +6* | Init +3 | Perception +7

Sorry for the relative silence this week, some family issues popped up this week, should be back in the saddle Monday or Tuesday.

That's fine.
