Especially when you start pining for something warmer than the fjords.
I'm not entirely sure whether that's suggestive or not.
Also, I'm going to share this because I thought you'd appreciate it, Hmm. I got into a (third) Rise of the Runelords game, and since I'm playing a bard, I got the stupid idea in my head to write my OOC introduction semi in-character, and in iambic pentameter. Now to see how long I can keep that up.

Nice job, Ronnie!
I should send you a link to some of the stories my evangelist bard cleric told in game.
Ah! Here's the first one. Nef was an evangelist of Horus, who had made her home amongst the oppressed Tulita people, and who was starting to get involved with the Tulitan resistance movement. This story was a dangerous and rather public expression of her nascent political views, told in a rowdy little bar: Isis and the Missing Man Parts.
This got followed up by a whole bunch of stories that Nef told to the Tulitan God Tohorara, the Whale. She was on a ship journey, and she wanted to introduce Horus (Eagle) to Whale, showing that she intended to introduce Horus as a new brother to the native gods, not as a replacement. She told Tohorara the Whale a new story each night of their sea journey to the creepy island to which we had to travel. What was fun about this was that the stories of Eagles adventures were Nef's own stories. She was telling her own story -- and the stories of her companions -- everytime she told one of these little tales. I had great fun with this.

Very cool! I'll have to bookmark that campaign for perusal.
I'm also loving the speeches, guys. "So. We should do that stuff. Yep," had me laughing my head off - I think Lali and Jhod are having a contest for "most awkward speech". And if Kaz ever dies for realsies, I want parts of Luthor's eulogy tweaked and put on the gravestone. (But hopefully that won't happen for, oh, another sixty years or so game-time.)

Daen sees movement in the water, shouts "Zombie!" and flies head first into the pond leading with his sword and chops the corpse of Kazmir's head clean off. You can't be too careful you know. That could have ruined the whole game. Someone might have died!

One of the things that I find hilarious about Cyanne is that she just accepts you're back. She doesn't care about the metaphysics or theology... She doesn't care about the WHY behind this miracle that just happened. She's so in the moment, all she cares about right now is that you are back.
Maybe later, she'll analyze this. But for now, there's hugging to do.
I've never had a less analytical and introspective character. She's capable of analysis, and she has a good sense of people, but most of the time she just is. She lives so in the now, in the present moment... It's fun to roleplay that.

I'm highly analytical. What Daen is always doing in his head? That's me.
But I couldn't see a way to roleplay a young, cheerful, long-lived aasimar without having some level of denial. This is her self-defense mechanism. If she lives in the now, she doesn't have to contemplate a future full of melancholy songs.
It also makes her leap straight into things, heedless of her own safety. Which is also fun to roleplay.
Hmm

Question time! Mechanically, Kaz has come back as if subjected to raise dead, so he's at 3hp with two negative levels. Flavour-wise, by the time he went down, he had a slashed throat, an injured shoulder, and was basically a knife block for a dagger and three arrows, so... that's gotta leave a few scars. Is Kaz going to be walking around for the rest of the campaign with a big ol' scar across his neck? Because as badass as it is, it could also be offputting.
Though I can see the potential for always wearing a scarf or a gorget or something, and then ripping it off when someone questions his devotion to his party / his people / his faith / what have you...

Cyanne Miller |
![Riftwarden](http://cdn.paizo.com/image/avatar/PZO9249-Riftwarden_90.jpeg)
How are we going to get those negative levels back out here in the wilderness? Jhod doesn't look to be much higher level than we are. There's no way we can go kill the Staglord with Kaz in a permanently weakened state. Though if Erastil has provided so far, maybe he'll find some way to provide the rest of the way too!
I think it's toatlly up to you how much scarring Kaz will have. Maybe it'll be an angry red scar that will mostly fade over time. After all your best friend is a wonderful healer in addition to being a wonderful person. And I must admit that as much as I enjoy the idea of the scarf reveal, Kaz strikes me more as a person who would wear his wounds out in the open, not bothering to hide them.
Still... player choice. Do what most appeals to you!
Hmm
(Who is amused to now have a second character that gives dripping wet hugs.)

I was giving the others a chance to respond, but I guess I've broken Lali so I should go about fixing that in gameplay soon.
Man, if it was any other character, I'd do the whole Joker thing - "You wanna know how I got these scars?" But I don't think Kaz is unhinged enough for that. And you're right, Cyanne; he probably wouldn't try to hide anything as big as that. He'd be far more likely to keep it bared as a reminder - he has a second chance, but that's most likely it - and as a symbol of the lengths he'll go to for what's right.
As for the negative levels, what really blows is that restoration can only remove one negative level from a given target per week. That's a b&@#@. So it wouldn't be just a road trip, but an extended stay...

I like the idea of Kaz having scars. He'll be our happy, good natured King, but the scars will make political rivals go 'OMG, this guy is a badass, I need to respect him'. And people will be like 'Wow, I can't believe he survived those wounds' and Lali will go 'Pft, no, he died but Erastil brought him back to life. Clearly this is a guy you don't mess with!' ;D

Nice, Lali! We can circulate songs about our badass king. All those ranks in bluff should not go wasted... (Not that Cyanne actually has ranks in Bluff... Thank you, versatile performance!)
Seriously though, if we go into Restov, Aron-Lirpeth Magical Academy is a place that Cyanne wants to visit. She and Luthor need to catch up with their parents teachers... And Cyanne desperately wants Aron and Lirpeth to meet all of you, especially a certain scowling half-elf. And I can't wait to see how Kaz and Lali would react in a chaotic school full of mischievous magical kids and mongeese...
EDITED to ADD:

Ripper (Aust. coll.) (n): 1: a good time. "We're going to Dazza's place this arvo; it's gonna be a ripper!" 2: someone who has accomplished a noteworthy feat. "You it it for six, you little ripper!"
(adj.): 2: bonza, beaut. "You see the rims on Davo's new Commo?" "Yeah, mate, it looks ripper!"
I went to a mate's place last night. Me and four guys got up to some wild role-playing, if ya know what I mean. Of course, I mean that we played two rounds of Cards Against Humanity before statting up characters for an off-the-cuff one-shot run by Sam, who never preps anything beyond a rough outline before going "Eh, this'll do". It was a memorable experience. I was Gargent Steelthrew, a 6'4" warpriest of Gorum invested in two-weapon fighting with a heavy shield as his main-hand weapon. He hated talking, and loved hitting things. Hard. It was fun; about halfway through, I actually started seeing him as the anti-Kaz. Crawled home at half past two in the morning and pretty much crashed.
Then today, I went to another mate's place with the same gang, and we ran our second session of The Dragon's Demand. We went from second level to fifth. My favourite part was the look on the GM's face when he asked, "Your necromantic servants last for how long?!" :D
Also, Jhod is amazing. We should totally make him High Priest. It'll go so well!
ETA: I just realized, if bloodraging, Kaz could actually lift this gorram bear over his head, and the mental image is almost too badass.

Sometime in the not too distant future
The delegation from Brevoy hesitates over signing the trade accords. Diplomat Leo Surtova looks over the table and sneers. “And why should we agree to this drivel from a two bit kingdom?”
Daen scowls and whispers in Cyanne’s ear. “All right, you and Lali win. Roll out the piano.”
At Cyanne’s nod, a bevy of scowling blue-haired anime children roll out the piano. One boy starts a piano riff, a girl plays the sax, and the others join in on the chorus. Then Cyanne sings, her voice unexpectedly brassy and rich.

Rad, Mad, Badass King
Source: Bad, Bad Leroy Brown
On the south side of ol’ Restov
Are the baddest lands around
And if you go down there
You better just beware
Of Kaz with scars from head on down
Now King Kaz more than trouble
You see Kaz stand ‘bout six foot four
All those courtly ladies love to look him over
All the men just call him “Sir”
He’s a rad, mad, badass King
Even more badass when his axe does swing
Badder than the ol’ Stag Lord
Better hope you don’t make him bored
Now King Kaz he is a rambler
He keeps all his kingdom close
And he likes to wave his stone hard fist
At every bandit’s nose
He got a horse named Surefoot
A hawk named Edel too
He got a badass team behind him
Better run ‘cause he’ll pursue
He’s a rad, mad, badass King
Even more badass when his axe does swing
Badder than the ol’ Stag Lord
He’ll send you to your just reward
One day not long ago
Bandit tried to cut Kaz down
He sliced Kaz from neck to ear
And then Kaz’s blood kept a-pourin’ down
Now King Kaz didn’t stay dead long
For ol’ Deadeye had a plan
And the bandits learned a lesson
‘Bout a-messin’ with the wrong damned man
He’s a rad, mad, badass King
Even more badass when his axe does swing
Badder than the ol’ Stag Lord
The bandits quaked as he roared
Well Kaz took the bandits fighting
And when they pulled them from the floor
Bandits looked like a jigsaw puzzle
With a couple of pieces gone
He’s a rad, mad, badass King
Even more badass when his axe does swing
Badder than the ol’ Stag Lord
Invaders gonna find themselves gored
He’s a rad, mad, badass King
Even more badass when his axe does swing
Badder than the ol’ Stag Lord
Sure you don’t wanna sign that accord?
Yeah, badder than the ol’ Stag Lord
Badder than you can afford.
Leo Surtova pales, and takes the pen Daen hands to him.
