Checking in here (RxGus). I am super excited to give this Starfinder thing a try!
I have a character made (still picking spells). I still need to put it a readable format in my profile. This is my first starfinder character- so if anything looks off, consider it an oversight on my part.
Also, in advance: I am usually a 2xday poster. I will be out of the country from April 4-14. I will have some internet, but I am unsure how much I can post. I'll do my best to post long/detailed descriptions of what my character would do, and make several rolls in spoilers that you can plug into things that happen.

Sounds good. That will be fine. Just make sure your character info is in the profile. Shouldn't be a big deal.
What I have been doing with Starfinder characters so far is just putting the character sheet in google drive and posting a link to the character on it's profile page.
If you could as well. put header stats up in the race and class blocks. Such as SP; HP; EAC; KAC ; Init; Perception and anything else you might feel is relevant.
Anyone needs help with anything just let me know. It sounds like there are a couple first time Starfinders here. Once all have checked in and characters are built we will kick off the intro.

I didn't see your post until after I had built/typed everything out (it's amazing how much I take herolab for granted...). I will do the google docs thing next time though.
Character is up. If you have a chance, can you give it a quick glance to make sure everything looks right? The best that I can tell, I have no boons because I am XP 0.

![]() |

Hello everybody!
Thanks GM Tyranius for setting everything up!
I need another day to finish my Ysoki Operative (Hacker/Engineer) and have no boons as I am at 0 XP, as well.

![]() |

Anytime! Pete is our final member to check in.

And I'm here!
Also a first time player of Starfinder with a brand new PC. As there were a chunk of similarities between one of the pregens and my PC, I essentially took the same format and then made the changes over to match what I built for Alejandro. If anything looks weird or wonky or just plain wrong, let me know!
I'll be honest too, I was completely over my head on the gear so I used the same gear as the lvl 1 pregen (Envoy Navasi). I'm guessing she would be built with the same 1000 credits so that shouldn't be an issue.
I'm guessing as a brand new player I would not have any boons yet?
(edit) It looks like we might get the Faction Champion boon for free at creation, is that correct? If so then I'll slot the Wayfinder Champion as my faction boon.

![]() |

Correct Every new PC should have the Faction Champion Boon for the first Faction you picked.
Looks like all are here. Just need Shalm and Noral's character information in their profile.

![]() |

Thanks GM! Darq'en updated his profile and changed his name ! ;-)
I am ready to go - this is my third character but the other two had the SAME build and were a soldier that somebody just put together for me.
So this is the first character that I built myself.
Would be great if you could take a look if everything is alright.
Thanks!

Everything looks good on everyone's from what I saw.

![]() |

Not trying to be nosey, but how did Darqen end up with those number of skill ranks? The engineer and computer scores seem high, even with racial +2 bonuses. Astrator 'only' has +8 in Engineering/computers with a maxed intelligence and in class skills.

![]() |

Also, in reading the SFS handbook, it made it sound like the 'Faction Champion' boon cost 2 fame- which we wouldn't have until after this first adventure. Am I reading taht wrong?

![]() |

That is the cost but you get it for free with your first faction chosen when you first make your character. It's up in the character creation section pg 21 and also repeated in the faction section on pg 22.

Completely missed that! Thanks!

Operatives get a couple free feats of skill focus.
So for example his engineering
Skill Rank (1)
Class Skill (3)
Operative's Edge (1)- Insight
Skill Focus (3)- Also insight so doesn't stack with Operative's Edge
Int (2)
Racial (2)
Total should be 11 for Engineering.
***
Computers would be
Skill Rank (1)
Class Skill (3)
Operative's Edge (1)- Insight
Skill Focus (3)- Also insight so doesn't stack with Operative's Edge
Int (2)
Total for Computers would be 9.
If you break them down that is.

![]() |

Thank you. I am trying to begin to place the different classes and their roles/strengths. When I had read through the operative I completely missed the skill focus portions. I appreciate the breakdown as it helps me see how everything fits!

![]() |

Anytime. We are all learning the new system. :)

![]() |

FYI: I am going to be travelling from now until April 15th. I will have a computer and some internet, but I doubt I will be able to post more than once a day. I will do my best to make sure that I giving detailed instructions/ideas so that everyone isn't waiting around for me all the time.

![]() |

Sorry all, I'm out of town for work for a few days, so I'll be slow posting until Thursday. Feel free to bot me as necessary!

@GM Tyranius: If I make a flyby, is it then possible to shoot three times as we can shoot from two arcs?
Is that still possible if I make a flyby manever although we did not designate that two are sitting in the arc weapon and one on the turret?

![]() |

Correct so with Flyby, you would have to have 3 gunners already set in place. Lets say gunners are on Turret, forward and aft. Pilot does the Flyby and ends up nose to nose with the enemy. Normally only Turret and Forward gunners would only be able to fire, though since the pilot did a flyby then now the Aft gunner would also be able to fire, choosing any arc that he wishes.
As for the second question. Yes, you can make a flyby still. Basically the way I work PbP is you just choose your seat at the beginning of your turn each round. Seems the easiest and most logical way for the setting. So even if you only had a single gunner it will allow him to choose a weakened arc to keep targeting instead of being forced to shoot at a full strength side if that is what he is facing.

If anyone has a Dayjob Roll then go ahead and roll it and I will edit your chronicle.

![]() |

This was a great run. I really learned a lot. You are a great GM!!!

![]() |

As did I (learn a lot).
Honestly... I hated the fight with the elementals and was pretty much ready to quit Starfinder.
However, after a couple rounds of Starship combat, I really started enjoying it and have re-evaluated. I shall continue and give a go to a few other scenarios before making any rash decisions.
Good job GM and allies, thanks! (no day job and I have the chronicle)

![]() |

Haha. You guys were good on the elemental fight. It was just insanely tough since you all had fire weapons and they were immune to fire. Have to carry a few different elements around, which is hard at level 1.
