Kappi delay! I have a morningstar to take out!
Davosh cackles to extend everyone's hex while drawing a weapon and standing defensive with it.
Sorry, I kinda assumed you had your weapon in hand. Sorry to make ans ass out of u and me.

Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |

im sure Ali wanted to 5' step for flankage right?
Actually, I didn't...Ali's current position seemed like the best place. If she moved, I'd be afraid Nadya and/or Edward would be an easier target--and Ali is currently best equipped to handle these hits. And, she can't be easily flanked in the current setup; if she moved, she could be.

I know this is metagame, but it's only tactics. Let me say up front I'm just discussing not angry or taking shots. If I'm wrong let me know.
Here was my reasoning that I saw things different. I can handle a hit ok, higher AC, Higher HP, and all healing magics affect me with an increased rate.
To set up a flank that will remove the elemental that we are swinging at to end the combat from where you stayed I would have to step in the water. Bring him to our prefered element. Nadya would probably move with you to help prevent the cleave/ flank (after attacking of course her rage of them killing her daughter isn't going to let her back off soon).
After all that is said, keeping Ali there is completely fine with me. I'm sure I can work around it.
Edward Round 6
I know my weapons are designed to to damage, but is putting the pointy end inside water actually hurting it? Edward says as his weapon slices into the elemental the water droplets flung from the blade upon it's exit shimmering in a muted frost tinged prismatic display.

RAGING VOJTEK!!!! |

Round the Next
Vojtek rages on, with blood frothing and spilling down his chin. He turns his crazed glare upon the last remaining guard, unaware of the battle with the water elemental out in the courtyard.
Power Attack with Greatsword: 1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 10 - 1 = 18 for 2d6 + 11 + 3 ⇒ (6, 1) + 11 + 3 = 21 damage.
He also snaps his bloody gnashing teeth at the foe!
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21 for 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8

GM thunderspirit |

In addition to all of the above, I'd point out that it's an elemental, and thus can't be flanked. ;-)

Also should point out that I missed Edward's previous hit on White.

Round 7
The rogue moves up to support his comrades and try to end this fight. Kappi targets the brown guard to better protect Nadya, (though the rogue thinks she is doing fairly well for herself in this fight). He lines up a shot through the hectic melee then steps into it throwing the tomahawk end over end.

Kappi curses a little under his breath, fearing even as it is leaving his hand that his aim is a little too high...

RAGING VOJTEK!!!! |

Round the Seventh
Vojtek watches for a split second as the last guard falls to the packed snow twitching in the throes of a painful death. He heaves a few times in the cold, the icy air rasping his lungs painfully. He hears the sounds of battle out in the courtyard and starts. In a jiffy, the barbarian realizes there is an enemy to engage, he looks around, cocks an ear and sprints towards the sound of close combat.
Move west then north. and attack the guard in I-5.

Edward Round 8 (after Ali and Davosh)
Hearing the snarling Vojtek comming closer, and seeing the last of the guards fall. Edward is happy that his quick feet and sturdy armor is able to turn away the obviously heavy watery fists from the elemental.
He takes a step to his back and left creating space between him and the watery creature. Seeing the smirk and determination on Nadya's face and the wounds on her body Edward ends the life link with Kappi, and creates one with Nadya. Make way for the Beastial and Mighty Vojtek
Now that Liska is free to move she finally makes it over to Edward who drops the activating trinket to her so she can take it to Davosh.

Finally can get at this on something besides my phone...
Kappi's last tomahawk finds its mark and the elemental's form shudders and collapses with a tremendous SPLASH!

The young rogue forgets himself and blurts out, By the breasts of Desna, Im awesome!. Suddenly he freezes as he realized he spoke out loud. Then Kappi quickly pretends he said nothing and he goes and retrieves his thrown weapon.

Ha Kappi humor is a good tool to use after a stressful situation. Now lets all relax and let me know who needs healed. Vojtek keep eye on that portal we don't want any suprises. Kappi keep an eye on the front doors. Lets search the baracks for any useful knowledge or items.
He then lets his eyes drift to Davosh
Davosh kinda gross, but vomit bugs? What do you have to eat to do that?
How many HP does Nadya need healed? or the rest of you while I'm asking

Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |

Ali is heaving breaths like a bellows at the physical and magical stress of the battle. She gives each of her companions a shoulder-clap, saving Vojtek for last. As she strides up to him, instead of a shoulder clap, she reaches out two fingers of her right hand and wipes some of the enemy's blood off of his cheek. She then touches it to her tongue. The blood of our enemies makes us strong! Then she gives him a fierce smile and a clenched fist.
Well done everyone. I usually like to stay together, but it seemed like the right thing to do, to block the reinforcements. Edward, good job on keeping that bugger from getting *more* help.
She then pauses for a moment, and speaks just a bit louder, in Sylvan (which she then translates into Taldane)
So, Hatch...you still think we can't win here?
Then, she starts looking over bodies. Detect Magic, of course...
Oh, and just so you're all aware...I don't have a lot of magical power left today. A couple spells, a little more arcana.

Vojtek Wartooth |

Vojtek collapses in a sweaty heap. He sits down in the doorframe with his back against one side and props his feet up on the cracked melon of the last guard's cranium.
He rolls his eyes upward and leans his head back in utter exhaustion.
Someone else better watch that portal, I'm pooped.

Kappi Matarito |

Lets put Hatch on watch.
The rogue lets Ali loot the bodies. Kappi gives a search of the two barracks rooms.
Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
Kappi then checks out the fountain at Davosh's prompting
Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (5) + 9 = 14

GM thunderspirit |

Nadya looks at the fallen guard, silently cleaning the blade of her handaxe. She does not smile, nor especially share in the party's revelry.
Edward: Nadya is currently down 13 pts, a little less than half.
A quick search reveals the guards each had a mundane cold iron longsword. The sergeant's cold iron longsword is of much better craftsmanship, and she also had 3 potion bottles (cure light wounds, endure elements, interrogation), a small, hand-held mirror identical to that which Sgt. Sertane had, and a trinket just like the one Edward picked up. Only the potions, the mirror, and the trinkets detect as magical.
Hatch becomes visible again and hugs Ali's leg. Nadya Petska friends brave heroes! he says in Common.
When the rest of the party is distracted and/or not nearby, Hatch gets Ali's and Nadya's attention. Hatch took these when Nadya Petska friends in Petska home, the domovoi says, sheepishly handing Ali the two Hut keys the Black Rider gave to the party. Hatch try to protect Nadya Petska home, Nadya Petska family. Hatch not know Nadya Petska friends were here to help. Hatch sorry.

Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |

OK, maybe Edward should take the cure potion, since he keeps bleeding to stop *our* bleeding...
I'll note the rest in "And Treasure!-->Undivided Loot" in my profile--am I counting correctly with 7 Cold Iron LS, and 1 MW CI LS?

That will be fine Ali, but I have the wand. I think one of you should hold it in case I can't be there to do it.

Davosh the Wanderer |

Davosh snatches up the Interrogation potion... "Hatch and Nadya, you are solid allies. You'll leave excellent stories and I suspect you are destined for a worthy weird. Ali, can you help me identify this trinket and the mirrors?
Davosh's attempt:
Mirror: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
Trinket 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16

GM thunderspirit |

The mirror looks familiar.
The trinkets have a dim conjuration aura. Hatch volunteers (in Sylvan) that they are keys to the crystals.

Kappi Matarito |

Kappi wants to check out this little room in the south (where Kappi is on the map). He listens first, 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
The rogue stands there w/ his short sword in hand ready to open the door. As Kappi waits he further checks it for signs of traps and other bad things like danger of splinters...

The visual inside it is the same, but the mirror itself is larger. Like the one Sertane had.

Edward looks at the mirror, then says Everything about this place is mirrors for scrying and communicating. Davosh, Ali can you check the mirrors in the entrance for magic? IF so lets cover them or break them. Lets hide or break this mirror.
My guess is the mirrors are how the guard leadership communicates with the Witch, and that if they're not activated, they won't work. Remember how the guard back in town had to take his mirror out? If they worked all the time, he wouldn't have done that. I suggest we carry the ones we find; maybe we can figure out a use for them later.
Assuming no argument on that, she stows the mirror, and makes to move on to the next, central room where the guards came out of.

I'm going to assume that the door to the north leads to a stairs like the one to the south. We can check it out make sure nobody is lying in wait, then we use this device to clear out the next area. That is if Hatch will help us get there. Vojtek waiting till your ready

Davosh spouts some quick words in a language no one understands, then he clears his throat and switches to Taldane. It's as if he forgot which language he's been using every moment of his shared journey. Yes, let's be done with this floor's secrets. Then we go up."
