Vojtek Wartooth |

Vojtek searches for the source of the blockage. Perception: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (15) - 2 = 13
He is fairly certain these people tried to hide treasure in the privy. It is what he would do if someone like himself were to crash through the outer defenses.
Once complete, he wipes his filthy arm off using the corpse's cloak again. Out of consideration for his companions he stands downwind.

GM thunderspirit |

Kappi creeps to the top of the south stairs, silent as the night. He finds that the steps terminate at the top of the Pale Tower's entry outcropping, with arrow slits carefully carved into the frozen walls to allow for easy defense in case of assault. The battlement area is completely free of snow and excess ice; there are chutes periodically about the battlements that allow depositing this material in the courtyard below.
The rogue can see the corpse of the ice troll the party defeated lying in the reddened snow below.

Vojtek Wartooth |

I assume Vojtek didn't strike gold in the crapper? Not even a nugget?

GM thunderspirit |

Oh, he found a nugget, all right. But it certainly wasn't gold...or even chocolate.

Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |

Oh, he found a nugget, all right. But it certainly wasn't gold...or even chocolate.
Corn is kinda golden...

GM thunderspirit |

Sorry, guys, didn't notice that Edward had posted something. That's what I get for checking on my phone...
Hatch indicates a small nodule in the front which looks as though it fits the trin-key perfectly. Another is found in the north crystal. Crystals go to eating place. Take Nadya Petska friends one at a time.

GM thunderspirit |

Yes, yes! Hatch exclaims. Key go in and crystal get bright and key come out and Nadya Petska friends step onto bright crystal and go to eating place.

Vojtek Wartooth |

Vojtek volunteers, fearing (and hoping for, in a way) a dangerous reception.

Davosh the Wanderer |

Davosh instantly agrees with the choice. He grants a spell of Guidance upon the wiry man.

Vojtek Wartooth |
1 person marked this as a favorite. |

The barbarian removes his gleaming great sword from its fur-trimmed scabbard and nods to Davosh gravely. So gravely it gets a little weird for a second.
He doesn't fully understand the procedure though, so he looks around for some mundane guidance to go along with the encouraging whispers he is hearing from the ancestors as a result of Davosh's dweomer.

Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |

Here, just do what Hatch said...
she holds the key and guides Vojtek to the proper spot. ONce he's settled and ready, she inserts the key, then removes it--hoping to see Vojtek disappear (presumably to the "eating area").
OK, Kappi? You next?

GM thunderspirit |

Votjek vanishes when Ali inserts the key.
A crescent-shaped dining table occupies this Y-shaped chamber, while two large mirrors on the north and south walls create the illusion of an even larger space. Twenty feet overhead, an immense chandelier of ice crystals hangs from the ceiling. To the east, rounded steps access a short hallway, flanked by twin ice sculptures of dryads holding ice-carved tree limbs, creating an elaborate archway. Translucent, glasslike double doors are set in the hall's north and south walls. To the west, two alcoves stand between three windows providing an amazing view of the wintry landscape outside the tower.
Atop the dining table, two tiny fey creatures similar to ones Vojtek has seen before are doing somersaults and backflips in time to accompanying music performed by another familiar face.
All three are quite surprised to see a non-Pale Tower guard emerge from the crystal, but not so surprised that they don't react!

tiny fey: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (5) + 7 = 12

Both the fey vanish before Vojtek's eyes, while the forlarren continues to play, although the song changes.

Kappi's eyes open wide in surprise as his friend vanishes from sight. A little afraid but a little excited the young rogue steps up with his favorite tomahawk in hand. me next he says in a quiet but serious voice.

Davosh the Wanderer |

"Kappi, take a spell of the Ancestor's Guidance with you."
unless we're in initiative.... don't want to mess that up.

You are not (at least as far as you know).

Ali'yanah D'ohr'hein |

Ali gets Kappi up there. Quickly now, we have no idea what they're getting into. Ed, how about you next--if they need healing, you're the one. Then Davosh, then Nadya, and I'll bring up the rear. Hatch, can we two go together? she asks as they continue to furiously ferry folks to the feeding floor.

Davosh the Wanderer |

We execute per Ali's plan.

GM thunderspirit |

Gotcha. I'll post an update later today/tonight.

RAGING VOJTEK!!!! |

Round the First
Vojtek starts when he recognizes the satyr. He leaps onto the bar with a roar, then pauses for a half a second to consider the wisdom of his next action. Once that half second passes, he leaps from the bar directly at the singing creature.
As he sails through the air, he lifts the massive great sword overhead and arcs down as he falls into combat in a rage!
Power Attack with Greatsword: 1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (9) + 10 - 1 = 18 for 2d6 + 11 + 3 ⇒ (6, 2) + 11 + 3 = 22 damage.
Note that Vojtek has 3 rounds of rage after this one. Lets make this quick!

GM thunderspirit |

It will take Kappi, oh, let's say about twelve seconds to get up to the "eating place."
I'm going to allow the jump on to the table as a move and the leaping attack, both cos it fits the scene and cos the impact is minimal; but be aware that's normally more actions than are allowed get in a round (move to jump onto table, standard to attack, can't take a five-foot cos Vojtek already moved).
Vojtek's angry jump/charge/attack draws only a loud "chink" sound from the forlarren's torso, and through his red haze he can see a fine chain shirt beneath the furs she wore before. Her wicked grin of triumph only serves to enrage him further.
Her song changes again, and...
DC 17 Concentration check: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
...casts a spell! Tiny ice shards begin to fly out of the forlarren's lyre and pelt the barbarian! It deals 2d6 ⇒ (4, 6) = 10damage! (DC 12 Refl save to negate) She then moves, provoking from the barbarian!
AoO: 1d20 + 10 - 1 ⇒ (5) + 10 - 1 = 14 for 2d6 + 11 + 3 ⇒ (2, 5) + 11 + 3 = 21
But this attack fails as well!
One atomie reappears and points at Vojtek! DC 15 Fort save or be affected by reduce person!
The other points as Vojtek's blade! DC 15 Will save or the sword is affected by shrink item!
Vojtek up!

RAGING VOJTEK!!!! |

What do you mean spoilers?
Reflex save: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10 <- Darn
Fort save: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 <- Phew
Will save: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 <-Uh oh

GM thunderspirit |

No one else knows what's going on yet, so put spoiler tags around your replies for the time being please.
Yes, the players are perfectly aware; but their PCs are not.
If you're not sure how, it works like this:
{spoiler=Movie plot spoiler}This is a spoiler, such as revealing who really did frame Roger Rabbit.{/spoiler}
...replacing the { with [ and the } with ].

Kappi Matarito |

Vojtek & GM
Round 2
The rogue pops into the room and into the middle of a fight. Quickly assuming that the forlarren is the most dangerous foe (and the subject of the barbarian's rage), Kappi throws his tomahawk.
throwing attack 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 1 ⇒ (10) + 7 + 1 - 1 = 17
throwing ax 1d6 + 1 + 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 1 + 1 + 2 = 8

GM thunderspirit |

That'll happen on Round 3 (guidance cast and then a standard action to activate the crystal), but duly noted.

RAGING VOJTEK!!!! |

With a snarling growl ripped from his rumbly-tumblies waaaaaay down in his gut, Vojtek lashes out with the flail in a massive sidearm attack.
Cold Iron Flail: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (10) + 10 = 20 for 1d10 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13

GM thunderspirit |

The barbarian drops his now-smallish blade (free) and draws his cold iron flail (move), then delivers a crushing blow to Blue, which falls limp to the tabletop!
The forlarren continues to play and move away from the fight.
The other atomie, which had been cackling madly, stops suddenly as its companion falls, aghast. Then, with tears welling in its tiny eyes, leaps to the back o0f a chair and points at Vojtek again! DC 15 Fort save or be affected by reduce person! Aren't at-will SLAs fun?!? ;-)
Kappi appears suddenly atop the crystal! With a start he sees the battle going on, and hears music coming from down the hallway. Quick as a cat the rogue reacts, bounding over the table even as he loosens a throwing axe, and flings it at the performing fey! his axe sails wide, however, as the forlarren continues to play!

Waiting on Vojtek's next action; the Fort save is successful.

RAGING VOJTEK!!!! |

GM thunderspirit |

Vojtek's flail crushes the life out of the other atomie!
Before the forlarren gets to go...
Ali, Davosh, Edward: What's going on down by the crytal?

Davosh the Wanderer |

Yeah I'm just waiting to go upstairs with the rest...

GM thunderspirit |

Whoops. That's what I get from checking on my phone late at night. LOL
Edward steps onto the crystal and Ali puts the key into place. The Oradin disappears.
1d20 + 0 ⇒ (11) + 0 = 11
The forlarren fumbles with the doors behind her, opening them and stepping through, then shutting them behind her.
At that same instant, Edward appears atop the crystal, seeing a pair of bludgeoned atomies (one on the table, one atop the end chair), Vojtek with his flail out and Kappi reaching for another axe atop a small set of steps.

If they are both dead, then instead I advance in as far as I can, and establish a lifelink with Vojtek

GM thunderspirit |

Upon reviewing the tactics, I'm gonna drop us out of initiative. People can come upstairs now.
