Sorry, ran a bit behind, with all the Magic the Gathering Commander 2014 decktesting sprees my buddies and I do every year. The red deck is overrated, in my humble opinion. Black, blue, and white are where it's at. And green... well green is just green lol. Testing is now finished, so expect a post up soon. Also, found a replacement PC while playtesting the decks, so expect another PC soon!
So I haven't played magic in a long time, is the newer stuff just as good as the older stuff? or better or worse.
I had some pretty nasty goblin and elf decks.
The newer stuff is USUALLY not as OP as some of the older stuff, but in some cases it is. Some of the Commander cards are pretty powerful, however.
And as far as better or worse, I would generally say better. From Mirrodin and Ravnica onward, the series has mostly improved, sans Kamigawa block, which was cool thematically, but crap in play.
Of course, my definition of 'better' usually equates to 'powerful, but not so powerful as to be utterly ridiculous', which is pretty much what most legacy decks are built around. I'm not a spike, I just enjoy playing the game, so I don't like a 'using high tide, I mill you to death in one turn with Blue Sun Zenith' type crap lol.
It seems odd for an Esper Mage such as myself, since those colors hold a LOT of broken combos, but I prefer a more intense battle with custom decks instead of one of the 'cookie cutter kill build' decks.
Elves and Goblins are still pretty good. I much prefer Angel or Artifact creature decks, some for theme, others for power.
Also, just wanted to check in and keep you all updated about why I didn't post, since I'm going to try to be relatively expedient letting you know about this kind of stuff.

That new ammo: I am thinking it does piercing and slashing and adds 1d6 to damage, has crit range is 19-20/x4 increase misfire chance by 1

Based on character dropouts and several other factors, I am planning on dropping a few of my campaigns.
I've been considering doing so for a while, but have just now made the decision.
To those still in the campaign, I apologize for doing so. I've just had a lot of problems lately and it has been increasingly hard at times to keep up with my campaigns.

He already isn't happy about having to end this game, and now he has to deal with your sense of entitlement and whining as well. Get over yourself man.
Does it suck this game ended? Sure, but its just a freakin pretend game played on the intrawebz. TSP is a real person, dealing with real problems and these games are supposed to be his, and OUR, escape. Thus, behavior like this definitely does help make one want to run a game with you.
I'd say I would think you were better than this, but your recent messages to me along with how you've acted here, clearly prove otherwise.
