Here is my submission, Atma Leere, a Female Dhampir Chaokineticist.
A quick word about her: Atma was originally one of a couple ideas I had for a Magical Child manga/anime campaign someone was going to run, so a couple of those elements still exist. I don't know if that hurts her chances, but I can assure you, I do plan to play her as a serious character and without too much over exaggeration.
Atma tends to appear as if her mind is somewhere else entirely and speaks with little to no emotion. She often raises her hands to her mouth when she speaks which some find cute and others rather annoying. It is a nervous habit she has to hide her fangs which often unnerve others. She is rather tactless sometimes, but can speak very well when she needs something. Her sedate tone of voice borders on monotone, but it quickly escalates into extreme emotiveness when she begins to use her inborn kinetic powers.
Her eyes begin to glow red, and her fangs seem to become even more prominent as the energy of the void fills her hands. In extreme cases she has acquired a rather hysterical seeming smile while her glowing eyes seem to widen to unnatural size. It's surely just a trick of the void magic she utilizes. Surely.
The streets were no kinder to a young girl, but she fared probably better than she aught due to her somewhat feral appearance. The fangs didn't hurt that image at all. They really started to grow in after she ran away. Atma was never sure if it would have happened all along or if all the raw meat of the rats and other vermin she caught to survive made it happen. Regardless, she lived in the gutters and the dark alleys and stayed well away from the temples. Not after that kindly priest almost killed her with his warm, soothing touch...
Thinking about the touch of positive energy always made Atma shudder, but she couldn't deny that the event had pulled something out of her, something which has now come to define everything she knows.
The void.
Something had come to her aid and blasted the poor old man trying to kill her through a wall. Her power was loud and flashy, but effective. The fact that it made her think of the night, the stars, and the space between them, well...whatever. Stars were good. Atma liked them better than the sun. She liked to watch them and try to remember every one of them. She had gotten fairly good at recalling most of their paths through the night sky. The stars were trustworthy; they always maintained predictable patterns. Order...it was nice.
Then a man approached her. He had heard of her strange dark powers and wanted her to use them on people. Use them to hurt and destroy...on people that had never hurt Atma. Somehow it would help him, but once Atma learned his name, she knew better. Gaedren Lamm was a fiend, and those who lived in the shadows knew he was no good. But many people who didn't do as he asked ended up hurt or missing...or dead.
But Atma didn't care about that. She had the void. He'd even heard about her powers, so he knew. He knew she was better left alone. She bared her fangs at him and said, No! For a while it seemed like everything was fine, but suddenly two men approached her in the night. One was dressed in weird robes, and the other...it was the old man from years ago! She tried to run, but the world got strange. She got sleepy for a second, but then realized someone was using magic on her. In fear, she used her powers wildly.
Atma still doesn't remember everything about that night, but there was no doubting the results: she was defeated. She had awoken in a cell of some kind, and occasionally visited by the two men. One was a cleric of Shelyn and the other a teacher at the Academae. They asked her a lot of questions, and were very wary of her at first (well, she did throw bolts of gravity power at them that first day they came into the room), but soon it seemed they were very excited about her. They brought her out of the cell after a time where she discovered she was in a deep underground part of the Academae's library.
They wanted to study her and her abilities. They informed her that Gaedren Lamm had informed them a female vampire was running loose with strange dark powers in the slums. The old cleric of Shelyn, Jenven, had remembered his encounter with a young girl who had not reacted to being healed very well. He chuckled and showed Atma the scar she had given him. He had never allowed it to be healed as a reminder to be more careful as not every poor soul needed healing without consent.
While basically a prisoner at the Acadamae library, the wizard Garis Klesel and Jenven treated her well, and observed her as she attempted to learn about her powers. Garis said that he believed she was a special person born with "kinetic powers" able to somehow tap into the energy of places like the Negative Energy Plane, possibly due to her dhampir heritage. He wasn't sure, however.
After a few years at the Acadamae where Garis had her employed as a librarian which suited Atma wonderfully, Atma's life resembled nothing like her old one. She found she had a thirst to read and learn; she didn't know why. The ancient texts intrigued her the most, so she quickly mastered several old and dead languages simply to read the older books and scrolls. Garis often admonished her for losing track of time and her surroundings with playful tugs on her white locks.
Jenven managed to convert Atma into the worship of Shelyn, but before he could convince Garis to allow her to come to the temple of Shelyn, Jenven's age caught up to him, and he died. After the funeral, Garis told Atma that now that his friend had passed on, Garis had promised to take Jenven's ashes to a place where their former adventuring comrades' remains were all buried. He left leaving Atma at the Acadamae making provisions for her to keep her modest room and position intact while he was away.
It had been three years now, and the Acadamae staff was now trying to determine how to handle Garis' effects, and what to do with his pet dhampir. And then it happened. Oblivious Atma, shelving some books and counting inventory had suddenly heard a student whisper something about Gaedren Lamm...
While it had turned out well enough, Atma recalled that Gaedren Lamm had essentially tried to have her killed.
She felt a surge of void energy begin to coalesce in her hand as she thought about seeing the man pay for his crimes. Yes, she was going to need something else if Garis never returned. Another purpose.
She gathered her meager belongings, and left the Acadamae that night. Somehow, she would find the evil that was Gaedren Lamm and do what needed to be done.
Even in the dark of night, anyone watching would have been able to see the glowing red eyes and the white-fanged smile of Atma Leere as she contemplated the void's justice...death.

@Zayne Iwatani: I'm alright with it just be ready to roleplay it. One of your starting languages would have to be sign language.
@El Ronza: I actually had no idea that they changed them. I was going on the assumption of adulthood at 60. Could you link me a source that confirms that they changed it?
@Fiona: I don't mind at all.
I think I got all the questions and submissions, but if I missed yours let me know.

The Pathfinder Reference Document lists adulthood as starting at age 20, which is reflected in my second printing of the Advanced Race Guide. If you're going on the assumption of adulthood at 60, I can work with that, but I was planning on my character having been rescued from Lamm when she was a child. Him being old gives me time to work with.

Incidentally, I also assumed the revised ages for the Featured Races when crafting Atma Leere's backstory. I suppose I should have asked about that.
When I GM, the terminal ages of venerable and death are pretty much a handwave for me; and if my players want to have their aasimars, tieflings, or dhampirs live long due to their nature, I could care less. The original maturity age was the one hard to work with and didn't make a lot of sense since all three of those races are "half-human" and generally grow up in human society having been rejected by their outsider/undead parents typically.
@GM Darth Rancor: I used HeroLab for my character creation, and I noticed that some of the Curse of the Crimson Throne traits in there are still tied to the OGL versions, so please let me know if anything I used isn't up to date. I'm pretty sure I cross-referenced things properly however.

Cutting it a bit close but, I would really like to be considered. Trying to get into PBP as I just don't have the time to play another way ATM.
The idea I have for this character is one that has given up his life to get his revenge against Gaedren and then afterwards trying to find what to do next with his life. Hopefully the story gives him purpose.
I took the drawback "Umbral Unmasking" and tied it into the idea that he has given something up in exchange for getting set on the path to Gaedren. The shadow has the shape of a Choker and is a representation of Norgorber using him to squeeze secrets and information out of people.
Anywho, keep on keepin' on!

The Emerald Duke |

Yeah, I noticed that change from the original print as well when I was making Rebecca. I don't mind it as much as I mind the one to Dhampirs. (In fact, I actually used the old ages for my current dhampir magus and got around the maturity dates by having her raised by elves as adoptive parents.) I do think that they should have kept their original max ages, only altering their maturity ages... furthermore it makes little sense given they didn't edit the elemental humans age tables at all. (shrug) Looking forward to seeing who gets in on this one, lots of good applications.

Zurisatro Vascari |

Updated my crunch to meet the character build rules you outlined. My backstory is also now one I'm much happier with. So far as my Black Blade goes, I'm flexible but wouldn't mind a scimitar or cutlass that has some sort of ties to Varisian history (I plan to take the fortune hex as a sort of 'Harrow' ability). I figure we can discuss this some more should I be selected. :)
Zurisatro Jubrayl Vascari is Varisian, born and bred. Unlike many of his people, he's never known the joys of the roads. His family was forced to sell their wagon, to pay the fees demanded by the Church of Abadar to save his mother from a grave illness, and so they have been stranded in Korvosa since before he was born. By the time he was born, his parents had given up on hoping to escape the city, instead focusing on the day-to-day difficulties of survival. His father, in a particular moment of desperation, turned to his reviled Sczarni cousins for work. Now bound to the thug-like gangs, he served as an enforcer for years until he picked a fight with the wrong shop-keep and was badly wounded. What little his family had saved crumbled, and young Zuri saw his family move to the slums of the Shingles where they live to this day.
Growing up in the Shingles, he knew only poverty and want until his eldest brother, Nicolas, sought to serve in the Sczarni gangs as his father had before him. Nicolas quickly became involved with increasingly less savory peers as he sought to earn the money to see his family safe. Zurisatro worshiped his older brother, and so he eagerly followed his brother when he was asked to help despite his misgivings about the muggings, petty theft, and worse with which he was now involved. While serving as a spotter for an ambitious burglary (against a Cerulean Society protected target), he missed the approach of a group of those infamous thieves who had gotten wind of the attack. In the ensuing carnage, Zurisatro escaped, but his brother was not so lucky.
Distraught and guilt-ridden, he sought the aid of family and the guards to bring his brother's murderers to justice, but no one would help. Disillusioned by the guard's apathy and convinced now that his Sczarni 'family' and its crime were poison, he fell into period of deep depression. Only his elder sister Valerica's optimism, even in the face of these seemingly overwhelming odds, turned him from his despair. With time, and his sister's support, he was able to help his family eke out an existence by begging, doing odd work, and anything else he could to make a pinch or, rarely, a shield.
In a stroke of luck, he had the fortune of cleaning for a forcibly-retired master of the Acadamae. The man, Eugeni, who rejected the darker turn towards Diabolism the Acadamae has made under Cheliaxian influence, was so impressed that he agreed to take him as his sole apprentice. Since that day, he has begun to master the arts of magic and blade. He has proved a rapacious student. Training in both sword craft and magic (and fed properly for the first time in his life), Zurisatro grew strong and quick both mentally and physically. He has been taking work as a private guard where his arcane and martial prowess has proved lucrative.
With stable employment now in hand, he prepared to move his family away from the slums in the Shingles. Fate, however, has decided to twist the knife a bit before letting him draw it out. His sister's daughter, Violeta, has gone missing and the word on the street is that she has been seen with the vile criminal, Gaedramm Lamm. Furious and worried sick for his beloved niece, it's likely that Zurisatro will do anything to see her safe.
Standing at a slightly above average six feet tall, Zurisatro has a lithe build that belies his actual strength. Like many of his people, he has trouble growing facial hair and prefers to keep clean shaved (particularly as it is stereotypical for Sczari thugs to have a patchy beard). His large eyes are unusually bright blue that borders on turquoise. His jet black hair is often let to grow out and it's not uncommon for him to tie it back in a rough pony tail. He tends to wear his familial scarf no matter the time of day or what he happens to be doing.
Zurisatro has lived a life of poverty that he's only recently, through a stroke of great luck, escaped from. With his newly won abilities, he's begun to do what work he can to help the rest of his family escape from crippling poverty. His extended family, who are too tightly enmeshed in the Sczarni gangs, might take his money but wouldn't change their ways. He feels obligated to help them, but increasingly sees their lifestyle as a poison which will corrupt all who are near it. His brother and father's 'victimization' at the hands of the Sczarni and the damage they do to his people's reputation has grown into a simmering anger in recent years.
Despite his frustration with own people, it's the greater Korvosan establishment that truly draws his ire. Varisians are treated as a mere step up from vermin despite many of the city having some of his people's blood flowing in their veins. He has seen, his entire life, the grinding and horrific conditions of the poor of the city and the contempt with which the law treats them. It's not rare that he has to walk the other way when he sees a member of the Abadaran church, lest he spit on the clergyman and earn the guard's ire. He, like much of his family, attributes the church with much of the blame for their current predicament. He longs to see his family restored to the life they knew as wanderers and which he only knows in stories. His reverence for the goddess Desna, patron of travelers, luck, and dreams is a manifestation of his desire to be closer to his family's past.
He might not admit it, but there's also a part of him that feels that he could see his people's image righted in the city. His conflicting anger and contempt for the people of Korvosa battles with an outsider's desire for acceptance. His friendship with Eugeni, a Korvosan through and through, has slowly opened his eyes to the reality of a city in constant flux that tries its hardest to resist them. Only time will tell how he will continue to see the world.

Looks over the length of the list of applicants...
Dear Lord what a length... and this isn't even just everyone who applied for the other game (a lot of new folks and characters). 32 applicants with characters, and additional 5 dots, and three folks that withdrew characters after submitting them (not counting Ace who withdrew an initial and then submitted Flynn). Five tables worth of characters (six characters each, with two fielding seven) for a single table... GM, I both envy your being spoiled for choice and totally don't envy your having to choose selectees on this one.
I really do hope that Rebecca gets selected, especially as I haven't had the chance to play this one before, but will totally understand if I get edged out by superior character crafting. Good luck all!
