Congrats all, you were the best of a really good bunch, and think that you'll fit well together, even with a little bit of friction at times. As the game starts, you've all been in Port Peril for a short time, so may have had interactions with one another. I'll start gameplay on Monday to give you time to talk over how, if at all, you might be intertwined.
If you get that all hashed out earlier, I'll start the game earlier

Elias aka 'Eli' |

Oh, I wish you had mentioned that. I could have just sent you my .por file. :)
I make a point of including a Status spoiler in my combat posts with the most current info, like so:
Perfect Strike (1): x
Besmara's Bless (1/wk):
Arrows-Sharp (30): xx
Arrows-Blunt (30):
Spell Effects:
Mage Armor - +4 AC - 1 hr
I find it a bit easier to update that way than in my profile but I can also track it in the profile if you prefer it.

Davina Kurikami |

Folds her hands together and bows slightly, "It is good to meet you. I am Kurikami Davina."
So, Davina is very much a support caster, she is going to focus largely on illusions and buffs with some conjuration, and focus on sound and cold for the few offensive spells she will take. She will be able to serve as a face character in a pinch as well, though she won't be nearly as good at it as the bard likely will.
On thing I would like to do eventually, is take leadership and build the tengu ninja that is her retainer that she will have become separated from when we start. Though it would be as easy to say he joins her again and is just in the background as a crew member when it one day happens since we have the numbers we do.

Elias aka 'Eli' |

I try to not read character backgrounds; why ruin the surprise, eh? But unless any of you folks are Mwangi and/or very familiar with the village of Ijo on Desperation Bay... then you probably haven't run across Eli.

Hi GM Shathira, I have a couple of final questions from my character's profile:
1 - Am I allowed to take the following feats: Racial heritage - Kobold, Kobold Confidence and Merciless Magic (the latter two are kobold racial feats)? If not I'll go with extra traits for my first level feat.
2 - You mentioned that divine casters need a divine patron, and Ri'el is partial towards Lythertida, but the shaman class seems to suggest that they get their spells from communing with spirits rather than praying to a deity. Is Lythertida or the spirits the source of his spells for the purpose of your campaign?
Will make an in-character post in the gameplay thread later tonight. =)

I try not too also, but usually my curiosity gets the better of me.
I'll probably read them to see if Ri'el is likely to have had any prior encounters with the other characters, but I'll check with players before deciding anything. =)

An easy way to do this without background spoilers would be to simply state here what your character is likely doing in Port Peril. If they've just arrived, then there's not much chance for them to have interacted. If they've been around for a few days, a few weeks, etc, you may have run across one another. That gives nothing about backgrounds away.
For example, Elias is going to stand out a bit, while you may not have all interacted with him, if he's been there for a while, you most likely have seen him. If he just got there, then probably not. Arenya has been around a while, so probably has some idea of the ebb and flow of the city, and might notice things. I'm not saying you have to divulge histories, but just discuss your present, and your presence in Port Peril. If that sparks discussion where people feel they may have a common history, it can go from there.
2. Shaman commune with spirits, like your Thrush, so no he doesn't need a god to worship a god/goddess directly.

K then, Davina has only been in town but will have very much stood out, so much so that I would imagine even new arrivals have a pretty good chance of having heard about her, kinda hard not to hear about the apparent angel and her short, shadowy, vicious, consort moving through town asking questions about what seems to be a "demoness". There is a lot more to the story, but it is easily blown out of proportion.

Garavaen Drusus |

I keep my "normal stats" in a line on each post so you can see them quickly, but as I get drained, I also tend to use spoilers for my current status.
Garavaen's newly arrived, but could have interacted with people who'd been working aboard a ship (it's how he got to Port Peril, after all), if anyone has that kind of backstory. If not, he's the newbie with the crossbow.

Davina Kurikami |

I filled in the one thing I had not taken since everyone had two traits, I grabbed two as well.

Garavaen Drusus |

Not in the slightest, actually. Other APs I've gotten in campaigns that started and fizzled, but this is my first time trying this one.

I played once and got as far as the mast-climbing "test" right at the start... the GM bailed whilst those of us who made it to the top were chatting about the view. XD
So really, I know bugger-all about the AP.

Ah, one thing I'll mention as to the way I play Identify or Spellcraft checks on magical items. Usually, I'll just give you the info, if you make the check. It's tiresome, and creates too much bookkeeping to give you the school, the strength of aura etc, and then try to keep the bonuses to hit/ac etc to myself. So on those type of items, I'll mark it, and tell you. On items that have multiple effects ie many of the wondrous items, I will make you roll a number of spellcraft checks, or cast identify.
Potions are another item entirely. I have a spreadsheet that generates the color, smell, consistency, and taste of all the potions. So once you identify a potion, say potion of cure light wounds, the description that goes along with it will always be consistent. So I'll give you cure light wounds, since I think one of you has one. The potion is Light Grey, with a smell of burnt wood, a slimy texture, and a salty taste. That descriptor will *always* accompany a cure light wounds potion.

My home group I play in is about to start book four in the next month or so (I hope), the other group I got into on here is just to book two, and the one I'm running over on RPOL is on around day 3-4 right now. So familiar with the first book thus far, and kinda with the rest. It's so open ended though in places that even with a written book it varies enough to be unique in one way or another.
My home group character I play is the sister this one is looking for.

Elias aka 'Eli' |

I've never played the AP and don't have a copy of it - so no DM knowledge about it either.
And I'm giving you a thumbs-up on how you handle magic item IDing. I'm a believer in cutting away anything that slows down play.

I am confused. Am I the one in the hat that was made the new rigger? Shouldn't it be Eli? I didn't even make it to the top. Also, any response from my diplomacy check, perchance?

Astein, just so you don't miss it, Ri'el has made a request to you before you head off to the cook's kitchen. Basically he's asking that you keep an eye out for his familiar. =)

Successful moving of the Garavaen-token.
However, during the week when posting from mobile devices -- I won't be able to, even with permissions (promise to describe any movement).
