Iron Gods: Iron maps;

Aaaand the post is up! Enjoy and good luck!

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

I am around, just throw whatever you want your characters to do.

If something is not clear, please do not hesitate to ask.

Female Human Witch (Ley Line Guardian) 10 HP: 53/53 | AC: 13 (17 mage armor) | T: 13 (15) | FF: 11(15) | CMD: 16 | Fort: +6 | Ref: +7 | Will: +10 | Init: +7| Perc: +3 Yavenee

Sorry, looking into what I'm able to do

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

Well, I guess that means Yavenee did not find something to do. It is not an easy situation but at least she is not in the side people is getting hurt, hehe.

Ok, I will go with Delendir's turn, but whether our notorious witch finds a way to pierce through the wall of force and clouds, we still have Daud actions pending!

Iron Gods: Iron maps;

Hi there! I am still waiting for Yavenee's and Daud's posts.

So, it has been a month now since I posted last round but there has been zero reaction.

Admittedly, I am heartbroken that Delendir died but no one seems to care at all.

Every time Shadowlord or myself, we have asked directly about your interest in the campaign, you have told you wanted to go on and complete the campaign.

Yet for years now I have had the feeling I have been dragging you all along, convincing the GM to give it another chance, sorting out your equipment, encouraging you to go forward, writing hooks for your characters to interact with, PMing you multiple times to let you know you were up, pushing the action forward and taking more and more decisions for the group as people slowly fade away from any party interaction.

I am tired.

Let me be clear, I do understand this is a game and there are many other things in life that have precedence before this commitment. It is also normal that as time passes you get bored of the characters, or the adventure, or that you simply get into more fresher games and you prefer to put your time there while the excitement of the beginning lasts.

I do also understand you might not like the adventure, or high level play, or the group's style, or let's better say, as life gets more complicated and life constrained, there are other campaigns (or hobbies) you have a better feeling for. This happens to most of us all the time.

What I would like you all get from this experience is, in the future, when all those campaigns get old, or your heart starts to shift to something more fresh, I hope you are self-conscious enough to raise your voice and state you just do not have enough interest or enough time to keep contributing to the campaign in a meaningful way. To be enlightened enough to understand your feelings and actions (or lack of), and to step aside and let people try to find their way forward instead of progressively voiding the campaign.

On my side, I have understood one cannot compensate for others lose of interest, and it is better to just end the thing fast and swift. Also that the responsibilities in the party shall be balanced, and chewing things up for people does not help, and perhaps even favors players disconnection.

I thought a lot about the convenience of writing this post.

These kind of things usually serve nothing but only to put people on the defensive or get hard reactions. But this campaign deserves more than a general silent blackout, and after 7 years of devoting my time and care to this campaign I felt I needed to empty myself, and who knows, perhaps there is a chance this helps some other campaign, some other people.

There were some moments of joy. Let's take that and treasure it.

I really hope you well and desire the best of lucks for your remaining campaigns and your other endeavors in life.

Well crap, I am very sorry Delendir. To be honest I thought I had posted already. That was around the time that things started going bonkers at work and they have only just started to even out again so my posting rate has started going up again.

For what it is worth, given where Jessica is, I doubt she could even see what happened to Delendir but she would be devestated to see him fall.

Thank you very much for trying to keep it moving along and finishing the fight. I greatly appreciate it and am very sad we never got to finish the campaign. It is perhaps the single longest running one I've ever been in so thank you to everyone who made it fun while it lasted.

Thanks a lot Jessica, I know you tried and I really enjoyed both Jessica's character and our play together. It is a pity we never saw more development on Tal's relationship.

Unless someone wants to add anything in Gameplay, I am inclined to close the campaign with the narration of the party's defeat in order to provide a fast and natural closing to the adventure.

If you wish to write something up feel free to. Jessica will, at some point, activate her ring to turn into a song bird and flee this place. She knows someone needs to warn of our failure and work to make a second attempt against the giant. For story reasons she needs to survive somehow (her daughter is in a Return of the Runelords game now and is tied to this game),

Krysta would probably just sneak in underground and assassinate the bastard in his sleep one night before burrowing back out to safety and returning to Sandpoint to be a doting Aunt.

The end has come.

I've been on these forums long enough to see that most games don't even finish the first book of the adventure before folding, and this one made it much, much further than that. It was a bumpy ride at times, but no multi-book AP ever goes smoothly start to finish.

I know I wasn't you first, second (or even last) GM on this, but I was with you the longest and we had some times in the middle there. Thanks for those and I hope you all had some fun along the way. I'm sorry I couldn't take us through to the finish line, but I don't regret pulling the plug here because we had lost most of our drive.

Thanks for everything! I wish you all the best in all of your future games and hope to share a game with you at some point in the future!

Here is that. I believe this campaign deserved a clear closing and I gave more than enough time for everyone to state their thoughts. Both Jessica and Vivi did so (he sent me through a PM a while ago) and hope this is good enough for you two guys, it has been a pleasure to play with you.

Thanks a lot for taking the campaign and trying to make it through ShadowLord. The PbP GM job is a time and energy consuming task, and an ungrateful one most of the times. Do not feel bad for unplugging here, the thread speaks for itself.

As said before, the best of lucks for all you in your lives.

Please GM ShadowLord, proceed to mark the campaign as no longer active.

Well done Delendir and thank you for coming back and writing that up. This was a great game while it lasted and I will miss you guys.

Until we play again (if we aren't already).
