My archetype doesn't get a familiar. So the scrolls would be a one-time used to me using UMD to pull it off.

There's something very satisfactory about using Xanesha's weapon

I completely forgot how many wands I have at my disposal. I can do a fair amount of blasting.

with the money from stuff already sold plus the 1,954 I already had I'll pick up the Cackling Hag's blouse. Using Cackle as a swift action instead of a move action twice a day could be useful.

Delendir - Thank you for doing that. I know that is a lot of work but I think it will be extremely beneficial in better positioning the party moving forward.

Also - I didn't go back and check, but if Valonia had picked up any loot while she was with your group, assume you took that back when she died. I'm not suggesting you take all of her gear since she was a new addition and you already were entitled to take Elisai's gear when she left since she earned that through multiple levels.

Will do... not sure how often I will use the amulet though (it is competing with my +1 armor one... while I do use unarmed more than I care to admit, my build preference always has been using the kama) but having the option wouldn't be a bad idea. The other items are no brainer equips.

OK... this is going to sound like a bizarre list... but hear me out.

I am thinking of getting two Immovable rods (5k each), a 10 ft by 15 ft floating sail (5k), an escape ladder (4k), a +2 headband of inspired wisdom (4k), and a pair of acrobat slippers (3k).

This should be close to my total... my idea is that Vivi was annoyed at how the dragon could be so far out of range most of the fight, so he came up with a solution: mobile combat platform.

Step one: place ladder, climb it.
Step two: place first immovable rod. withdraw ladder and repeat as necessary (always remembering to take the the rod with you before you go too far up the ladder)
Step three: at the desired height, extend the floating sail. Tie it to the rod. Cross the sail, affix the other rod (for safety reasons) and tie it off.

The sail itself can support up to 800 pounds. The rods can support 8000, and an unsupported ladder can support 300 (doubles if you are next to/using a wall).

Now granted you only have a 10 by 15 space to fight off of... but beats not being up there at all... and if Delendir followed you have a mobile platform to rain arrows from.

Thoughts?

The only thing I don't have is a reliable means of propulsion.... that said, you can float in a given direction until ready, then set the two rods to keep steady (also prevents airborne enemies from trying to tip you over). Plus the ladder can be used as an escape hatch once a day for one person (so not ideal if we have two folks up there, but better than two folks dying from fall damage).

You know... at that point you might be good at looking for a carpet of flying. Very oriental stylish and only 20000 gp ;)

I think you get more for your coin and who has not dreamed of being Aladin for once?

Anyway it would be quite an entertainment to see Vivi perform all that rod deployment in front of the giants boss :D

Vivi isn't much of a potion person. The carpet would make sense, but would also force me to pick between the headband and the slippers.... and would require the fly skill, albeit it does give a +5 circumstance bonus the roll.

F' it. Going for the 5 by 5 carpet. Air monk incoming.
Wisdom headband +2 for 4k.

Two 500 GP animated portraits (one for me of Ameiko and the other of me as a gift to Ameiko).

A campfire bead (for ease of setting those in the future).

And 1K for boots of the Cat (in case I fall off or jump off my carpet).

I think that leaves me with 135.7 GP left... open to suggestions or to leaving that in "the kitty" for future upgrades.

@Vivi, remember to transfer all these equipment to your profile so you do not forget about it. Also I think you should give a look at your ability scores and stats because I think you have not computed your Dex belt and Wisdom headband +2.

Bracers of armor (the AC does not stack with Primal Defense, but it is a way for you to access enchantments like fortification or evolving)
+2 enhancement to Nualia's bastard sword (optionally giant bane or another energy damage enhancement)

Ring of blinking or Cloak of Displacement (with your AC this seems a must)

He also has Fortification and cloak of displacement wouldn’t stack with his spirit totem.

For improving/making items it takes a day for each 1,000g, so to get Nualia’s sword to +4 for example would take over a month.

I am ready to move on GM Shadowlord. If Jessica could prepare wind walk for a day or two I think that would help us a lot to handwave travel.

You are right Daud, but crafting can be accelerated adding +5 to the DC. Which means good artisans can craft 2000 gp per day (unless the GM wants the NPC to charge extra for working accelerated).

Given you only need to improve a +1 to a +2 weapon, that is around 3 days of accelerated crafting (8000 - 2000 = 6000 gp).

Besides, if you do not like that, just propose an alternative solution, with a bit of thinking I can easily come up with already 3 alternatives: we waiting for the job to be completed, selling the sword and buying a +2 one, or spending the gold in anything else you like.

I do agree. I hate it too, it is just an unnecessary time sink.

Yet after having experienced two adventure paths past level 10 is just a necessary devil unless the GM likes continuously fudging or infra-using the monster abilities.

Still, observing the basics (improving ability stats, weapon and armor enhancement, AC items, + cloak of resistance) should give you enough mileage for the party to survive and keep resolving the plot. Shadowlord will tell you if he thinks certain objects are not available or if we will require extra time for items improvement. If not, just do not make your own time more difficult adding limits and complications to yourself that no one else called for.

Just improve your sheet with that stuff and call it a day.

Maybe Yavenee can teleport us to some well known place of our shoanti tribe at the Storval Plateau.

Another alternative I particularly like would be to use wind walk, although I am not sure if Jessica can prepare that by this level. Travelling with the wind can bring us to the valley very fast, which I think will help us move on this campaign.

Well, it all comes to what Shadowlord wants us to end doing. If he is interested to make us land somewhere, then he can certainly introduce a storm. Otherwise it offers him and us a nice way to skip most of the trip hassle.

Does anyone want to make the trip by foot? If anyone states interest in the narrative potential of a weeks long trip by foot I am fine to bring preparations for it in the Gameplay thread.
