An old gnome hops up from behind the counter. Eyeing the merchandise, he strokes his left ear. "Hmm..." Pausing, he looks you over, before checking to ensure the shop is empty. "Those and twenty regs...Could do four gold ones, fer ya."
As you await Pakuzzo's return and group of old woman hobble by chittering away.
"Dicha ear? Them gangs been causing troubles o'er near Temple Hill"
"I heard! Guessing the Red Jill boss dun went crazy."
"Yeah, well guards I guess leaving them been. They’ll handle the riff raff in the Red Roof district for Thrune I guess."
Any other discussion is lost as the group lumbers out of range.

"Sounds like something we could look into"

Marillo Sullus |

Upon hearing that these thugs would handle the ‘riff raff’ of his home district, Marillo’s face twisted into a sneer or anger.
”Oh yes, we should look into this. As soon as we possibly can.”

Metronicus Crady, the Bum Sage |

Crady yawns, "No rest for the virtuous, then?"

Pakuzzo |

I don't want to keep the rest of you waiting, so I'll wrap this up quick.
"Four?" Pakuzzo replies incredulously. "C'mon man, I could do the same set up across town for three gold and a deuce of silver.
"Tell you what, I'm in a rush, so I'll look inside my heart and be generous: three gold, four silver for the lot, and I put in a good word about this place to my employers. They're quite liable to toss some business your way, so you're practically coming out ahead already."

Red Jill is a lose band of thieves centered in the Red Roof/Temple Hill region. They are led by a mysterious creature few have lived to tell of.

"The way I hears it, Red Jill is a band of thieves keeping kip up in The Red Roofs. They say the Jills are led by a mysterious creature few have lived to tell of", tells Crady. "Maybe an introduction is in order?"

Pakuzzo |

Pakuzzo taps his temple in a two-fingered salute (the non-rude kind) as he exits the building with spoils in hand, jingling the bell above the door as it opens.
Once outside, he notices the others conversing.
"Thanks for letting me do some shopping, we can keep moving now. So what's going on? You all look like you've got something on your minds."

Cerenity |

"Indeed. We may be side tracked once again. We picked up on a bit of rumours" With that she begins to fill him in on what they heard
"And that is what you missed"

Pakuzzo |

Pakuzzo listens intently to the kasatha's explanation.
"Well, sounds like we've found our next gig," he answers. intrigued. "Let's head back to the coffeehouse. Once we get our guest here to safety we can start on our next plan of action."

Pakuzzo |

Please disregard the previous post.
Pakuzzo listens intently to the kasatha's explanation.
"Well, sounds like we've found our next gig," he answers. intrigued. "What say we go and have a look?"

GM RePete |

You all begin making your way towards the Redroof district. Marillo and Crady quite easily navigate the streets of Kintargo. A few strange looks are tossed towards your group, though you seem to be used to this by now.
Just after entering the area, a voice calls from a dark alley. "Psst! Hey you! Marillo! Pestilent bird! Over here."
Turning towards the voice, you can just make out what appears to be a tiefling duck into the shadows.
A map is up - if you enter the alley, place yourselves accordingly. Your tokens are currently on the side you'll approach from

Pakuzzo |

"'Pestilent...?' The hells has the minerals to call me--"
Pakuzzo trails off into silence as he strings his bow and follows after the tiefling. He makes a clicking noise with his tongue, calling Vinz to heel.

Vinz | Giant Raven |

Vinz flaps down to the ground and follows after Pakuzzo on foot, looking into the gloom of the alley for movement.

Metronicus Crady, the Bum Sage |

Crady follows the rest into the alley, keeping his eyes and ears focused on if they were followed.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21

Marillo Sullus |

Marillo strolls in, standing next to Pakuzzo. He stood there with his arms crossed, waiting to see what happens. Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9

GM RePete |

As the main one begins to speak, two more step out from the darkened corners. All carry crossbows and shortswords. "So...news travels fast 'ere. Yous looken fer the boss we been tolds."
"What business yous got witch 'er? Marillo, you shud know how dis works now."
Turning to Pakuzzo, he spits in the dirt. "Hangen wiff raven birds we see."
Lets see if Paizo can keep the site up for a few days now...

Marillo Sullus |

Marillo shrugs. "With raven birds, yes. Better than running with trash. Have you got anything worth saying, or are you just here to embarrass yourself?"

Pakuzzo |

Pakuzzo glares at the tieflings, bow held but pointed at a downward angle so they wouldn't think he was about to attack just yet. Marillo seemed to be known by these guys, so it seemed the prudent thing to keep his beak shut for now and leave the talking to him.

GM RePete |

"Embarrass ourselves? HA! That's good." snaps back the bandit. "Since I've known your family for a time, I just wanted to give you a friendly warning. Back off. Back off now and leave the Red Jills be or the consequences will be...hmmm..."
Pondering his words, the man smiles. "Let's just say the results would be unpleasant. The boss wants nothing to do with you lot. You will not be warned again."

Marillo Sullus |

At the mention of his family, Marillo tensed, his insult dying on his lips. "You know my family. I know yours. It's a close neighborhood. We all know each other. It would be best for everyone involved if we stay good neighbors."

Metronicus Crady, the Bum Sage |

Once Crady is sure the coast is clear, the urban druid enters the conversation.
"I hate to interrupt, but House Thrune is going after all organizations in Kintargo, not under his heel. It is with everyone's best interest that we form an alliance to save Kintargo from being another Thrune puppet state."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

GM RePete |

"Humans!" he snarls, spitting again. "Think they all know what's best fer us...always imposing their ideals."
Turning back to Marillo, he demands "Set them weapons down, and go home now. Else, there be nothing we can do."
The tieflings await your response.
Assuming you don't disarm and give up...
With a loud sigh, the one you've been conversing with laments. "Well, you were warned. We've got orders to attend to...you've no one to blame Marillo. No one but yourself." Without another word, they turn and head towards the far end of the alley.
You get the feeling they are headed towards Marillo's childhood home

Marillo Sullus |

After a long pause Marillo takes out his sword and throws it on the ground. ”I’m taking it with me. This blade was a gift. But I won’t fight.”

Pakuzzo |

Pakuzzo eyeballs Marillo when he tosses down the sword, grumbles, and looks back up at the tieflings.
"You don't want to listen to reason, fight the real enemy? Fine, go hang; I've just met you and I'm sick of you all already. Marillo is crew, so if he wants us to turn around and forget about you, so be it. But my bow stays in my hands. However, in the spirit of compromise--"
He unslings the two quivers from his gear and tosses them on the ground, allowing a few arrows to spill out on the cobblestones in front of him.
"There. I just paid for half of these, so you're mad if you think I'm leaving without them, but at least now you know that I'm not going to shoot you in the back. Take it or leave it. Now piss off, and we'll do the same."
Intimidate (untrained): 1d20 ⇒ 16
I personally would rather take these guys out right here and now, but this seems like an important thing for Marillo, so I'm yielding to his judgement and giving up. For now anyway; I reserve the right for a double-cross at a later date.

Marillo Sullus |

As a player I say kill them now. As a PC? Marillo puts family first. He may even be shaken enough by this to get his family out of town...

GM RePete |

The three tieflings stop and turn back to you. The lead one smiles. "Ah, a good decision." With a nod to the south of you, your blade and Pakuzzo's two quivers vanish.
"We appreciate your donation to our cause. Now, you stop this ridiculous cause of yours. Kintargo is in good hands with Thrune. He's allowing us to take over the district and run it as we feel is right." Flashing a toothy smile, he adds "And that means we are judge, jury, and executioner now."
"It may be wise to start worshiping the Red Jills leader...if you know what's good for you lot!"
You can give perceptions to try and figure out what happened to your weapons.

Marillo Sullus |

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11
Marillo's sword vanishes, and he stares with disbelief. He had come to see it as an extension of himself. Of his 'alter identity' of a freedom fighter, as opposed to being a mere civilian. Seeing it leave after his surrender was like a blow to his very soul. He suddenly felt much, much smaller than he did before.

Pakuzzo |

Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
Pakuzzo's eyes go wide in disbelief as he searches frantically for his arrows. Almost subconciously, his free hand shoots for the scimitar at his hip. The theft, combined with the thiefling's treasonous words, meant he felt the urge to kill something right now.
Gonna wait for the result of the check before I act.

Metronicus Crady, the Bum Sage |

Metronicus checks his weapons and sees that they are gone as well. But the urban druid is not fazed; all his weapons were ones that can easily be bought or found.
"Enjoy your new found power while it lasts", speaks Crady, as he waves goodbye to the gang members. "You're only fooling yourselves!"

GM RePete |

"I must say, Marillo. With what I've heard of you these past days...I expected this to be harder." he states matter-of-fact. "Чӯҷаҳои, ин ба анҷом мерасад." he adds, in a near whisper.
"Tieflings, let's finish this."
Will give Pakuzzo a chance to respond to his perception. Then we'll see what happens

Pakuzzo |

As understanding suddenly dawns on him, Pakuzzo quietly sidles closer to Marillo and Crady. He's angry, but he's not suicidal.

Crying out in surprise and pain, Marillo fell to his knees. Grimacing, he rose to his feet he rushes towards the man with his blade. Fear, anger, hatred, all were clearly written on his face.

Metronicus Crady, the Bum Sage |

The urban druid, weaponless, runs up to grab Marillo by the arms.
"Follow me! And run for your lives!!"
Crady intends on trying to guide the group to someplace where they can either hide or a safe way back to either The Bakery or The Livery.

Pakuzzo |

Pakuzzo sees Marillo run toward the head tiefling with murder in his eyes, but moves just as quickly as Crady to grab the man.
"Are you insane?! We can't win this alone! Come on!!"
Pakuzzo is going to try and grab Maillo along with Crady and get him to run. If he goes, he's running as fast as he can out of the alley and back to the group, following Crady's lead.
Vinz will automatically follow after Pakuzzo, as he is still under the effect of the Heel trick.
If Marillo won't move because of the Rage SLA, he's still running out of the alley, but he's going to try and get to the others so they can double back and try to rescue him.

GM RePete |

Cerenity, oblivious to the plight of his companions, continues to keep watch on the street.
Meanwhile, Pakuzzo pleads for his companion to retreat and regroup, as Marillo's anger takes hold.
Crazy grabs his friend by the arm, and tries to pull him away. Realizing there are several routes to relative safety, he knows the livery is their closest bet.
The tiefling leader, holding Marillos blade high, charges forward. Though his intent is clear, he stumbles his last few steps, missing the blades owner.
Both crossbowman fire off another shot; one bolt just grazing the target. Suddenly, another tie fling materializes next to Marillo and stabs at him.

His anger and pain was greater than any semblance of control, and the blow was wild.

Metronicus Crady, the Bum Sage |

I love how the DM called my character CRAZY!
But seriously, as a character, I'm conflicted. Metronicus has always been 'survival first'. He tried to lead the unarmed tiefling away from the fight. I know.
"Cerenity!" Crady barks. "Some help, please!"

Pakuzzo |

Pakuzzo, seeing the odds, decides he has no choice. He lets go of Marillo's arm and breaks into a run for the alleyway. Vinz takes flight at his heels, following after.
Once outside, he practically slams straight into Cerenity before skidding to a stop in front of her.
"Cerenity! It's an ambush! Crady and Marillo are being attacked by a gang of tieflings, and they're outnumbered! We need to back them up! COME ON!!"

Cerenity |

The four armed woman get her weapon out as she dashes after Pakuzzo "Right behind you" she acknowledges his call to arms

GM RePete |

Pakuzzo quickly retrieves Cerenity and the pair head back up the alley to see Marillo continue to swing wildly; missing his opponent. The hatred in his blood red eyes showing he's no interest in backing down.
Crady calls out to the four-armed companion, knowing from previous fights the woman can put down rabid beats. The sage hopes Kintargo can save his broken friend.
"Ha! You couldn't hit a barn if it were right in front of ya! And you felt you could save this wretched dump? Thrune had it right on the Night of Ashes, he just stopped too soon!" quips the tiefling, as it swings the katana for its owner again. "Here, I'll give this back...at least the pointy end!" Even in his crazed state, Marillo easily sidesteps the blow.
The crossbow man silently take aim and fire. The first begins to chuckle at his commanders bad puns and worse aim, shooting his bolt into the sky above. The second, more experienced thug maintains his composer and lands a telling blow.
The newcomer cautiously steps to the side and jabs the space between herself and Marillo.

Miraculously, the dagger meets its mark and the tiefling drops to the dirt, skidding to a halt. The remaining combatants lengthen their stride as they exit the far end of the alley.
