Pakuzzo |

While Luthor slips off through the crowd, Pakuzzo is left joining the rest of the mob in screaming for Barzillai Thrune's head. The tengu is as genuinely angry at the most recent proclamation as the rest of the crowd, if not more so. He pumps his fist and shouts through the din of voices:
"DOG!! FIEND!! YOU CAN'T GET AWAY WITH THIS!! KINTARGO WILL NOT BOW BENEATH THE LASH OF OPPRESSION!! DEATH TO TYRANTS, AND TO ALL WHO LICK THEIR BOOTS!!!"
Rabble Rouse (Diplomacy {untrained}): 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
I'm not having Pakuzzo make a Perception check right now, as he's honestly too caught up in the protest at the moment. I'll leave that to Vinz.

Vinz | Giant Raven |

With the crowd whipped into a frenzy and the noise growing to a roar, Vinz begins to get antsy from his perch in the tree. He tries his best to keep an eye on Pakuzzo's position within the grind of bodies, but his keen senses also look for anyone making suspicious movements not in keeping with the other humanoids.

GM RePete |

A few people near the fountain turn towards the group as Cerenity let’s his aggravation known and take a few steps back. When the noble finishes his speech, he gets a few glances, but seems to be mostly drowned out by the din of the protesters. As he helps an apparent homeless man up onto his perch, several of the groups seem to begin paying a bit closer attention to them.
”They are right. We need to work together. It’s HIS FAULT after all!” screams one fair skinned man, pointing up to the opera house window.
Almost immediately after Crady’s words of wisdom, a loud voice rings out encouraging the unity against Thrune. Someone where the crowd a rotting apple was loosed, falling just shy of the guards and the protest erupted.
Salad goods filled the air, brawls began amongst those of differing views. From an unknown subject with decent aim came flying a fistful of racid horse dung. The fecal matter missing the Lord-Mayor by inches. Though he was saved the foul attack, he flinched from the startling attempt, loosed wine from his glass and stained his ornate robes.
His face turning bright read, he leans out the window, yelling down ”Enough of this! Nox, run them off, arrest them, or kill them. I don’t care which!”. Slamming the window shut he disappears from view.
The woman nods towards the window and points to the two dottari in front of her. Her shrill voice ringing out ”NOW!”.
The two dottari guards start towards the nobleman, swinging at the innocent civilians in their way.
Five citizens around the courtyard rip off their cloaks to reveal dark red leather armaments, and weaponry. Vicious grins across their face, they pull out maces. Each has a leather bandana tied around their left shoulder; the sign of house Thrune across their chest.
Just as the mayhem explodes, before Pakuzzo has a chance to react a dagger goes soaring over his head, landing square in 'Nox' throat. She coughs once, spits out a little blood and yanks the dagger out one handed. As you all watch, the gaping hole heals up in mere seconds. "Get it done!" she snarls, and retreats into the building behind her.

Round 1
Order:
Pakuzzo
Cerenity
Marillo
5 Chelish Citizen Thugs
Lurio
Crady
2 Dottary Guards
Luthor
Combat has begun. The red faces are the Chelish Citizen Thugs. The entire region is difficult terrain for everyone except Lurio. Pakuzzo, your raven companion noticed the red bandanas just before they revealed themselves. Marillo, you also noticed seconds before they revealed themselves.
The Chelish Thugs are wielding maces wrapped heavily in cloth. Standard maces hang at their sides. The dottari are wielding Heavy Maces, holding a shield.

Luthor Aesernus |

Luthor was seething as he worked is way forward. Out of the corner of his eye he saw some people stand up on the fountain, but couldn't catch what they were saying over the din. At one point he appeared to trip, but it was a ruse so that he could disguise himself. When he stood straight again, it was not Luthor Aesernus who looked defiantly at the Lord Mayor, but a baby faced adoscelent with sandy hair. SA: Disguise Self
So you want to weaken the town's power by turning its people against each other? He stepped around a large man so he could better see the guards around the base of the opera house and selected the one that seemed strongest but least intelligent. Well Mr. Thrune, two can play at that game. He focused his energies, pausing only for a moment to rethink his life choices, and then reached out to his target's mind with the malevolent impulse to attack one of the other guards.
Murderous Command, save DC 18 (15 + 1 trait +1 feat +1 phrenic amplification)
EDIT: ninja'd by the GM (takes forever to write on a phone) If necessary the above post can be Luthor's actions, though I would like to think he at least managed to disguise himself before the melee started.

GM RePete |

The timeline I see in my head is you disguised yourself prior to combat starting.

Vinz | Giant Raven |

Having seen the Chelish Citizen Thug closest to Pakuzzo throw off his cloak and move aggressively, Vinz let's out a caw of warning and takes wing to the hunter's side.
Since Vinz doesn't know the "Defend" command, he will do the natural thing and remain flying above the battle near where Pakuzzo is until given a command to do otherwise.
Move less than half speed and remain flying (Fly vs. DC 10): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (3) + 7 = 10
Pakuzzo's actions are forthcoming...

Marillo Sullus |

Seeing the guards cutting down his fellow citizens, Marillo walks forward. His knife was still safely concealed within his clothes. "Stop! Stop this, there is no need for..." As he reached the nearest dottary guard he suddenly pulled his knife out, lunged forward and plunged in directly at the guard's stomach. His eyes briefly flared as he did so, his anger burning forth at the injustice of it all.
Hit with rage ability: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
Damage: 1d4 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Damage if 1d8: 1d8 ⇒ 3
"A stalker gains an ability called hidden strike, which allows him to deal an extra 1d8 points of precision damage on melee attacks (or ranged attacks from within 30 feet) against foes who are unaware of his presence, who consider him an ally, or who are made flat-footed by startling appearance. This extra damage increases by 1d8 at 3rd level and every 2 vigilante levels thereafter. A stalker vigilante can also deal hidden strike damage to a target that he is flanking or that is denied its Dexterity bonus to AC, but in these cases, the damage dice are reduced to d4s. A stalker can deal hidden strike damage against targets with concealment (but not total concealment).
So depending on how you count his concealed knife (see earlier posts), if he hits he did 7, 9 or 10 damage. He will also be at AC15 due to his rage until next round, but it won't leave him fatigued.

Pakuzzo |

Although his mouth gapes open for a half second as he watches Nox yank the dagger out of her throat, the Chelish Citizen thugs suddenly appearing to his left and right, as well Vinz's cry, immediately snap him back to the present moment.
Drawing upon his innate connection to nature, he swiftly grants both himself and Vinz the dexterity of a great cat.
As a swift action, I'm simultaneously activating Animal Focus for both Pakuzzo and Vinz.
Pakuzzo and Vinz both get Animal Focus: Tiger (Tiger: The creature gains a +2 enhancement bonus to Dexterity. This bonus increases to +4 at 8th level and +6 at 15th level). Pakuzzo gets it for one minute, and Vinz gets it for an indefinite duration. These are their adjusted stats:

Metronicus Crady, the Bum Sage |

Quickly looking over to the four-armed gunslinger, Metronicus looked over and said over the din of battle.
"I have heard of some women that were "all-hands", first time meeting one in person", grinned The Bum Sage.

Lurio Jhaltero |

It seemed that Crady's shouts finally helped rally the crowd, pulled them from their distractions and directed their anger justly. Rotten produce flew through the air, crashing against the opera house, and he could even hear the sound of grain bags being tossed in protest. The handful of horse dung slapped into the wall with a satisyfing sound and the Lord-Mayor's reaction was truly priceless. Maybe he would finally see some reason, finally begin to fix the damage that he caused.
The orders that followed were surreal to Lurio's ears. Didn't he understand what such an action would do? Didn't he care about any of these people? Any of their concerns? The guards would begin to head down the way towards him, eyes focused upon him that sent a shock through his body. "They mean to kill us. They mean to kill me..." Citizens scattered throughout the crowd throw off their disguises, drawing weaponry and eagerly attacking the citizens who wished to demonstrate their frustration, their anger.
"They're coming to kill us..." Lurio, son of House Jhaltero, whispered softly to himself. He should feel fear, he should feel terror, and he should run. Yet at the sight of his frightened citizens, the vile grins of the enforcers as they cracked limbs and ended lives, he didn't feel fear at all. No, something suddenly clicked inside of the nobleman as he thought of Claria once more.
"No more! NO MORE!" With a look of rage upon his face, Lurio hops down from the fountain and draws the beautiful and heavy blade off of his back. Moving in against the man nearest him dressed in red, he swings with all his might to put him down.
Attacking the red smiley to the upper-right of me. If he goes down, I'll 5ft step in front of Marillo towards the other villains!

GM RePete |

Vinz notices trouble moments before it finds his companion and cries out a warning. Pakuzzo quickly moves away from the would be attackers and calls upon his ancestral heritage. Striped orange and white fur sprouts along his face, while his raven’s feathers change color to match.
Spinning around, he fires a shot towards the thugs. Realizing a hair too late, his balance is off; his arrow sailing high over his target.
Near the fountain, Cerenity whips out her prized cannon and sights in on the traitorous thug. As she squeezes the trigger, a terrified citizen shoves her in his attempt to escape the ensuing dottari. Her projectile missing the intended victim by mere inches.
The tiefling turns to the nearest chelaxian betrayer and produces one of the many knives for which he’s known. With a quick thrust he burries it in the man’s abdomen, blood spraying from the wound as he withdraws the blade.
Staggering from the blow, Marillo’s foe looks down to his wound. Gasping as he eye’s the gushing blood, he remarks ”Screw this!”. Placing his hands over the wound, as if to hold back his insides, he pivots and tries to flee. Marillo, you can take an AoO if you’d like.
Chuckling at the misfortune of his companion, another hollers out ”Bloody Coward! Thrune should feed you to his dogs!” Turning to face Lurio, he adds ”You’ll fetch me a pretty coin Jhaltero!” Swinging his cloth bound mace down on the noble's skull.
The lucky thug Cerenity missed drops his cloth bound mace. Drawing his second mace as he steps in closer. ”You don’t deserve capture TRAITOR! No one quits!!!” His mace missing the woman by inches.
Snarling, Pakuzzo’s combatants move in closer, ignoring the raven entirely. ”The the best you got pest?!”
The thug’s friend cackles as his buddy swings wide. ”It helps if you aim first!” He hollers, as his mace nearly connects...with another fleeing innocent.
Lurio’s outrage fuels his fervor. As he brings down the vicious curved blade, he catches his opponent square in the neck. Though still standing, it seems to be by will power alone.

Ripping the knife out with a spray of blood he steps back a foot, the red in his eyes vanishing. He looks at the body, with shock and horror written clearly on his face. It was the first time he had killed a man. Then, mixed in with those emotions came a sense of elation...
...he finished just in time to hear a thug call out "You’ll fetch me a pretty coin Jhaltero!” Turning with his bloody dagger still in hand, he rushes to assist his friend.

Metronicus Crady, the Bum Sage |

As the Cheliax Thug advances toward Crady, the urban druid uses his best weapon against people in power: talking things out.
"C'mon guys. Is fighting really the answer?"
When that clearly does seem to work, the urban druid notices a Thug going right for Lucio Jhaltero, the strange noble who was always nice to him.
Crady didn't want to fight, but when his "friend", Is he my friend? He called me friend not too long ago. Yeah! I guess he is, looks endangered, Crady reaches for his almost-never used club, and defends Lucio.
Metronicus exclaims, "I hate this! This is stupid!"
Club: 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5 misses, probably because his heart wasn't really in it.

GM RePete |

As the Marillo's foe turns to flee, the tiefling catches him again with the blade and the thug gurgles as he falls to the ground.
Crady steps up to help his injured friend, begrudgingly swinging his club at the enemy. Just before making contact he hesitates, allowing the man to easily side-step the attack.
The two dottari swing at the innocents fleeing before them, caring little as to who gets hurt. Both making solid contact vs their intended victims, knocking them to the ground. One lay motionless, blood trickling out the sides of his mouth, while the other clutches his chest. The two guards step over the bodies as they make their way towards the fountain.

Rushing to his friends aid, Marillo fakes out his would be assailant and lines up across from Crady. Finding a vital spot in the distracted man’s bleeding neck, he shoves his blade home… The poor thugs head sliding off her shoulders and rolling to Lurio’s feet.
Pakuzzo taking advantage of his opponents terrible aim, spins through the throng of terrified Kintargan’s. Standing he steadies himself before firing between a gap in the fleeing citizens. His arrow lands home, catching one of the thugs squarely in the right shoulder.
Vinz lunges for the other thug, but merely scrapes the man's armor with his beak.
Cerenity shoves another cartridge into her barrel and shoves the muzzle in her targets face. Desperately swinging, he frantically brings his mace up to protect himself. Swinging wide, his fear of the weapon obviously taking hold. Cerenity fires. Flames from the end of the weapon singes the thugs eyebrows as the projectile catches his right between the eyes.
Looking down at the arrows sticking out of him and back up at the crow, he’d taunted moments before the Chelish Citizen retorts ”Ah man. F! this…”. Turning he begins shoving his way through the crowd. Luthor, if you have a weapon out he’s provoking an AoO from you. If not, he may live! :-P
Watching his buddy retreat, the thug combating the raven cackles. ”Dude! It’s a flesh wound! At least help with this raven. That’s cash money!” Dropping the cloth covered mace, he swings his primary weapon at the bird. Though the bird had failed to make contact, the incessant flapping of its wings were quite distracting; the thug swinging well below the bird.
Staggering back as the bullet smacks his face, he frowns. ”Why you traitorous bastard! I’ll have you yet! They didn’t say you had to come in alive...” Abandoning his softer mace, he tugs his second out. Swing hard for Cerenity’s skull, he barely manages a glancing blow off the woman’s helmet.

Luthor Aesernus |

Luthor's ear twitches as he senses the movement of the orange-clad man. Stepping back with his right foot, he aims a jab with his walking stick at the fleeing man's face, but his reflexes aren't quite good enough and the staff harmlessly jabs the air behind the man.
AofO: 1d20 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
There's a scream as the dottari maces find their mark on several citizens. Damned sycophantic traitors! Taking a 5 foot step towards the fountain, he is again thankful that his magic doesn't require him to wave his arms about as he fights the jostling crowd. He tries again to overthrow one of the dottari's minds, this time the far one.
Murderous Command, DC 17 this time.

Metronicus Crady, the Bum Sage |

Eww! Before the urban druid, The Cheliax Thug falls to the street performer's blade.

Lurio Jhaltero |

His head swims and everything seems so damn far away, his vision clouding with dark spots after the man connects his soft-covered mace against the brow of the nobleman. Nausea and weakness plagues his limbs and he staggers back away from the attack, his mind spurring off to training sessions with Swordmaster Gregory. "Keep your sword up, Lurio! Protect your head or I will strike it again and again! He remembered the pain of the pommel against his head, the familiar dizzying sensation of a concussion as he strengthened his grip upon the falchion once more.
"Protect your head...keep your grip strong..." The nobleman murmured as the combat continued along them, the shouts and screams of the crowd around him focusing back into terrible clarity again as he shakes off the momentary dizziness but still feels the throbbing ache in his mind. He would need to be careful, he couldn't end up like Claria did and have the hounds sicced on him. He needed to survive, he needed to fight. He rose his blade against the woman who was standing against him but her head fell from her shoulders, a look of anguish on her face as her body slumped to the ground.
"Thank you gentleman..." He murmured softly, seeing the dottari approaching. He was already on the ropes as it was and getting into the fight without any tactics would only bring his death about faster. "Milani, keep me safe." It was almost as if Crady had heard him, the sage's hand touching him and a surge of power running through him. His head began to clear but still it ached between his ears. "I'll try to hold their attention, we'll focus on the guards and get the people to safety." He closes the distance between the first dottari and him, moving patiently and carefully. Lurio strikes with his safety in mind first, his attacks second.

Lurio's failed attack draws the amusement and ire of the Dottari. "Seems someone needs more practice!" He says as he turns to attack the injured noble. As Lurio's luck improves, he stumbles just as the mace passes through the empty space over his head.
The second dottari, taking notice of Marillo's accomplishments, steps around his companion and tries his luck against the murderer. :-P Resulting in a solid hit to the chest.
Can't take a 5' step due to difficult terrain. Still close enough, just required a move action to get there. Luthor trying to remain unnoticed squeezes between a few innocents and focuses his mind at the dottari.
Pakuzzo's aim continues to improve as it find's it's home in the thug's chest. Vinz takes advantage of the man's cry of pain, biting his tongue.

Marillo Sullus |

Marillo stumbles backwards, nearly losing his grip on the knife. With the air knocked out of him, he swings wildly, trying to just keep his attacker away while he gets his bearings. Every instinct in his body told him to run. But he was side by side with Lurio. And loyalty to his friend won over self preservation. Glancing over he wheezed out "...hold my friend, until the crowd can flee..." So this is how we die. I just hope they don't take us alive.

Marillo's resolve waning in the aftermath of his last two attacks, he hesitates. Keeping his arm up for protection, he swings his dagger wide.
As Cerenity thrusts yet another projectile into her barrel, the chelish citizen swings around at her, missing by inches. Taking aim, she squeezes the trigger, catching him in the shoulder.
The thug Pakuzzo scared off continues to shove his way through the crowd and his companion snears at the raven "Nevermore, eh?" and once more swings his mace. Looking for a vital spot, he manages to crack the bird just behind the wing. "Ah, I see a copper in my future!"
Finally accepting Cerenity's capabilities, the thug staggers back. "Enough traitor. I'll see you again." Turning, he stumbles his way through the crowded park.

Heh, glad the 10 hit, also, difficult terrain, i will try to drop him in my turn.

Lurio Jhaltero |

Ah! I am feeling a bit better! I only have 7 points of nonlethal, not 9 anymore! :P
"Marillo!" He shouts as the mace connects with his friend's chest, the cracking sound sending a painful wince through his own form.
[i]"The tide is turning and we are being pushed back. We have to get out of here, the crowd is escaping."[i]
"Friend! You need to get out of here before they take us to the dogs. Both of you, get out! I'll hold them off just a few moments longer."
Lurio swings again at the man ahead of him, focusing more on his defense than his offense, and aims to keep that mace away from him.

Vinz no longer has Animal Focus: Tiger activated and now has Animal Focus: Snake. His gains a a +2 bonus on attack rolls when making attacks of opportunity and a +2 dodge bonus to AC against attacks of opportunity, making his effective AC against AAO right now 14.
Badly wounded by the blow from the thug and hearing Pakuzzo's command, the large bird makes a tactical retreat towards his master.
Full round action to withdraw (flying, 10 ft). Vinz will be flying south 5 ft, then east 5 ft to avoid any more threatened squares beyond the first. The thug should not get an attack of opportunity against Vinz this round. Vinz will land in the tree near Pakuzzo's left.

Metronicus Crady, the Bum Sage |

"Friend! You need to get out of here before they take us to the dogs. Both of you, get out! I'll hold them off just a few moments longer."
Metronicus smiles and sighs, "Well, I'm damned already. Besides no one's hit me yet. Here goes.."
Crady circles behind Lucio and begins to attack the dottari in front of the noble. Sorry, Cerenity if I screw up your clear shot.Club: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 = 12 And that should be a miss.

GM RePete |

Lurio swings desperately towards his combatant, going wild.
Crady joins in, attempting to aid his friend. Just as he brings his club up, he is forced to dodge Lurio's wild swing and pulls back. Missing his target.
The dottari snarls at Lurio, "Awww the rich bastard wants to martyr himself. Who am I to argue?" Bringing up his mace, he aims for the swelling lump on the man's head. At the last second, he considers the newcomer, missing his would be target.
His companion giggles. "It works better when you hit them Jeg!" Proceeding to bring up his blunt instrument towards Marillo's abdomen. Connecting with an ominous thud, he grins "Like that!" Surprised to see the tiefling still standing, the dottari mutters, "Jeez man, just go down!"

Luthor Aesernus |

Luthor gives a distinctly non-human growl of frustration as the dottari resists his spell a second time. There was no way he could stay in range for his spell casting and continue to blend in with the crowd.
crunch
Luthor was amazed the man was still standing after a hit like that; his sharp ears distinctly heard several ribs crack. Luthor realized that not only was that man about to die, there was no way he could stop the dotter's onslaught unless he had a little bit of divine help, help that could only come if he opened thelong unused channels of positive energy to heal someone. So he did the only logical thing to do: he turned into a fox. The features of the baby-faced adolescent melted away to to reveal silver fur, two tails sprouted from his rear, while his whole body shrunk down to the size of a cat. He skirted around the edge of the fountain, running at full speed towards the melee between the dottari and the injured men.
Dex goes up to 18, natural armor up +1, size bonus to AC +2 (Total AC = 17), natural attack bite 1d3-2, speed40ft. Fox medic on the way!

GM RePete |

Luthor hurries over to help his companions. Just as he reaches the melee the opera house doors burst open.
The strange woman from before steps out accompanied by a stranger creature. This new animal resembles a thin, lanky wolf with reddish-brown fur, white claws, and burning fiery red eyes.
"Enough of this! Finish it!" Demands Nox. Her pet promptly charges to the fleeing citizens closest the door and spews a cone of fire. A few scorched elves and gnomes join the assorted subjects sprawled across the landscape.
Turning towards the fountain, the creature snorts in your direction.

Marillo Sullus |

Marillo staggers back from the blow, gasping for breath. With the guards distracted by the ...the thing, he disengages. Out of reach of their clubs, he makes his way towards the crowd, clutching at his chest as he does so. He would have been praying for no ribs to be broken, if it were not for the fear of the demonic creature taking precedence. As it was, he merely hoped to get away. As he falls back he calls out to Lurio "Run!" Usually he would have worried about how fast his friend could run with his breastplate weighing him down. Now he worried about whether he could keep up.

Pakuzzo |

@GM PePete: Okay, in light of this new development, please disregard the previous posts for Pakuzzo and Vinz and replace them with this:
Pakuzzo nocks another arrow to take down the thug that was attacking Vinz, when he caught sight of the burning wolf that Nox had sicced on the crowd. He glanced back and forth between the wolf and the thugs anxiously, then made a decision.
"We don't have time for this. Just show some common decency and die already, will you?!"
Attacking (-4 for shooting into melee), 36 arrows left.
Attack (longbow): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
Damage (Point-blank Shot: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
Pakuzzo quickly grants his companion the reflexes of a serpent to allow him to escape combat. He hopes the thug will die before it is needed.
Swift action to give Vinz Animal Focus: Snake, duration indefinite.
"Vinz! HEEL!"
Handle Animal vs. DC 15: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Whether or not the thug lives or dies, Pakuzzo pushes past the civilian to his right and then sprints around the fountain to get as near as he can to the wolf monster. If Vinz successfully escapes and the thug does not follow, then the tengu is done with him.
Two move actions (60 ft., difficult terrain).

Vinz | Giant Raven |

Vinz no longer has Animal Focus: Tiger activated and now has Animal Focus: Snake. His gains a a +2 bonus on attack rolls when making attacks of opportunity and a +2 dodge bonus to AC against attacks of opportunity, making his effective AC against AAO (only) right now 14, otherwise it's only 12.
Either unable to hear Pakuzzo over the civilians' screams or just too blinded by pain and anger, Vinz keeps on attacking the thug's body.
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Damage: 1d4 - 1 ⇒ (3) - 1 = 2
Pakuzzo's last 'Heel' Handle Animal check failed on a natural 1, so Vinz is going to keep repeating the last command until he or the thug is dead, or until he successfully receives a new command.
As an aside, I am praying that Pakuzzo's last shot kills off the thug before he has a chance to retaliate against Vinz. :(

Metronicus Crady, the Bum Sage |

Knowledge (planes): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 22
Metronicus yells out, "It's a hellhound! Wait! They brought a hellhound to a protest?!?!"
After a moment of racking his brain, Crady continues to yell, "It breathes fires, but hates the cold! Scatter!!"

GM RePete |

Pakuzzo launches another arrow, which finds its mark. Cathing the man in the left side of the chest, he crumples to the ground. Vinz, upset with being hit, ignores his companions command and begins pecking at the villains eyes.
Cerenity turns and heads away from the opera house, while Marillo attempts to follow suit, staggering in the same direction

Lurio Jhaltero |

There is that crack, that awful sound, coming from his friend beside him and instinct begins to take over. The words of the swordmaster that his family had purchased for the purposes of training ringing in his ear. The door slammed open and out rushed that beast of flame and fury, a hellish breath escaping it as it burns down the crowd off to the North.
The man's taunt brings a fierce look from the swollen face of the nobleman, his words a growl. "Better a martyr than a scum! Keep moving Marillo! I'll be right behind you."
"I need to dissuade a pursuit, something to allow Marillo to escape with his wounds. I need to hold them back until he gets to the crowd." He postures himself in a defensive pose and strikes back against the dottari, his falchion swinging through the air.

"That's what you get for striking your own fellow citizens, scum." The cheeky, tired grin upon Lurio's face stays as he backs away, covering his friend's escape.
"This man is too well-protected. I need to escape before they put me down."

Metronicus Crady, the Bum Sage |

Crady is beginning to see that Lucio will not leave without the street performer. So the urban druid taking a 5-fot step back from the dottary guard, then jumps through the fountain, treating it as difficult terrain, both going in and out to get to Marillo's side to assist him to leave the park.

GM RePete |

Lurio set's his feet and swings his blade up towards the guard. Flying true, he buries the blade in the dottari's torso. Wrenching it out as he takes a cautious step back leaving a chastising comment in his wake.
Crady moves to the mortally wounded Marillo and offers him a shoulder to lean against as they retreat.
Grunting from his wound, the injured guard sneers at Lurio. "My citizens obey the laws. Would you have me let vagrants and murders roam free?!". In a retaliatory effort, she swings for the noble's ribcage. Wincing from the effort of swinging the massive mace, he comes up short.
His companion pursuing the combatants spies the strange fox creature next to the noble. "Eh, tis your pet? Been a while since I've been on a fox hunt!" Giggling at his own joke, he brings his mace to bear on the animal. The animal easily avoids the blunt object with a slight hop.
Nox hollers out "Least you're counterpart is injured facing a trained man! You can't even hit a fox? Perhaps I should relieve you of your duties!"

With a glint in his eye, the fox jumps out of the way of the mace, onto the top of it. With a growl, it uses the momentum of the dottari's upward swing to leap backwards, twisting in mid air to right himself. His paws outstretched, his fur stands on end and begins to glow with a blue light as he hurtles right onto Marillo's back, nearly bowling him over before an incredible surge of energy rushes through him! The light from the fox traces over the place where the mace impacted Marillo's his chest, causing the impacted bones to shift back into their proper place, leaving only a slight bruise.
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
Clambering over Marillo's shoulder, the fox leaps down and makes for the cover of the trees.

Marillo Sullus |

Marillo curses as the fox lands on him, as he nearly falls over. He right's himself and turns to see its fur still glowing as it runs off to the tree line. The curse dies on his lips as he looks on wonder and incomprehension. It is soon replaced with a mumbled prayer of thanks.

GM RePete |

The highly agile fox baffles the dottari with his movements. Before he's capable of finding a target, the furball is yards away.
Near the opera house two guards draw bows and start firing into the fleeing crowd. The remaining two dottari start picking their way through the bodies strewn about and administering aid; bandaging their wounds, while slapping manacles on their limbs.
The hellhound looks to Nox who points to the still fleeing citizens across the courtyard. Sprinting over the field, he pounces on a terrified halfling. It's savage maw bringing the Kintargan to the ground by it's shoulder.
