Hey guys, I'm headed off to AVL Scarefest tomorrow and won't be back until Monday. While my time isn't booked solid I have no idea what the internet situation will be so my posting here may be slow or nonexistent until I return.
(I wanted to try and make one round of updates tonight but noooooo, internet is not being cooperative and my patience is limited.)
We're getting into the home stretch for the scenario though, so hopefully we'll be able to wrap things up relatively soon :)
There's more to this, I just like to pause sometimes for dramatic effect and/or party reactions before continuing with a scene.

What am I missing?
I see Maria rolled a total of 20 on Nature, check 1 is complete. Effie aides Perception with a 10, which brings Hep’s initial 17 Perception to a 1, check 3 is complete.
EDIT: Oh I see, Effie was specifically aiding Parison. Damn, that’s a bummer. I’ll post with just a roll then.

(Technically I got back late Sunday night but spent the majority of yesterday wrenching my sleep schedule back around and visiting with some family who were in from California.)

Maria is obviously not going first as regardless of how clearly her notes speak, she isn't the best orator (YET!). She will take any position that is later to garner the best bonus to offset her NET -2 Diplomacy modifier.
Effie and Zith are the obvious choices for First and Second with only 1 point difference between the two so either could take either slot. After that everyone appears to be in the 0-5 range except for Maria's negative number.
And since we have six players and only five checks to prepare for, Maria is also fine with sitting out unless someone just doesn't feel comfortable talking. She has had plenty of enjoyable RP throughout this session, so it's no big deal if she misses the final push.
Oh, forgot a reward from the Hivetender that might help:
'The thriae gives the PCs samples of one of her other batches of honey. Eating this honey provides a mild feeling of drunkenness and grants the gift of honeyed speech for 24 hours.'
Anyone who eats the honey will gain a +2 bonus on skill checks which might help during the trial.

I'm fine with Effie first, though I do have some PC personal observations on the first encounter, but if we win the trial, I'll have a second chance to bring them up.
P.S. Everyone can taste the honey, it's just a question of would you.
P.P.S. Has there been anyone making a point to not participate in Zithembe's seance(s), particularly this mission's debriefing seance?
Hokay folks, we are officially done with Shores of Heaven! I hope you guys enjoyed it as it turned out to be a LOT of fun for me to run as a GM :)
I will get the game reported shortly and start working on your chronicles. We're also going to take a short break of about a week or so while I finish prepping the next scenario and also because I'll be working quite a bit between tomorrow night and next Tuesday. So feel free to post any shenanigans you might get up to if you want to stay in Heaven for a while *or* if you decide to go on home right away.
(Kitarlo is happy to Plane Shift folks home at any time.)
There's also a special outcome (and a few small rewards from Kitarlo) from your actions since you achieved amazing success on the scenario's conditions, which I will address either during an intermission post or during the wind-up when we start the next scenario.
(Just so no one worries that I forgot something again!)
@Effie - After speaking privately with everyone I would like to formally extend the invitation for you to join the group for the next scenario (#9-04 The Unseen Inclusion) and/or on a more permanent basis, if you'd like. I greatly enjoyed having you as a player and Effie as a character and I think she adds her own special flair to the group dynamic :)

Effie, since you're staying, re-welcome to the party, what's your rough class development plan? I have some choices to makes in the future regarding my own inspire courage or not. :)
Zithembe will be staying in Heaven for a bit and make use of that top boon--I just haven't decided which deity yet--for some significant changes.

Mostly juggler bard, but with dips in (far strike) monk and paladin so as to be reasonably effective with the pistols. Not sure what levels to go into paladin though, I wanted a role-play reason to take the class and this scenario has cemented Effie's tentative commitment to Good and Law, but she doesn't have a patron deity as yet.
Whoops! With the exception of Maria & Zithembe, I still need everyone's Day Job checks, advancement notes (Slow or Normal track), and any other notes that you want me to make for your chronicles.

So, I know the question of who would be willing to replay what came up way back when I first put TL;DR together but we've had a few cast changes since then and, well, time has passed in general and feelings on things can change.
To help me with planning what scenarios we'll do in the future, it would help if I already had an idea of which scenarios people would either be willing to spend a replay on or would actually really *want* to spend a replay on if push comes to shove and I have to start looking at scenarios that at least one of you have already played. I'll also try to accommodate specific scenario requests if I can, such as I did for Zithembe with Shores of Heaven and hope to do with his more general request for scenarios that take the group plane-hopping.
For the time being I'm just interested in hearing from you guys on 1-5 scenarios and 3-7 scenarios, since everyone should be 3rd level after we run through Unseen Inclusion.

Maria 100% supports more plane-hopping missions. I've got a GM replay every year, working towards my 2nd one of those plus I have 6 general replays so while there isn't anything I want to replay, I'll be able to do it if/when it pops up.
I would be interested in doing some of the chain scenarios. Those are quite fun. I think we had plans to do a followup to the Tengu one when we got high enough already.
It looks like Seasons 7 & 8 have multiple sets of that kind of scenario chain that I haven't played at all. Not sure if they are good but that would be a good starting point to look.

Effie will actually be 1xp short of level 3 after unseen inclusion. At some point I can catch her up with a GM xp but I'm not sure how long that'll take.
I do have a level 4 available (Sleeping Sword, dhampir monk/cleric)
I've got bundles of replays available. I'll have a think about any scenarios I might want to request :)

I really like part 1/2/X scenarios, scenarios with similar themes/locations (like we just did), and bonus points for both! :) Makes it feel more like a campaign to me.
If it doesn't rain on anyone's parade, lately I've been a little unhappy with the wilderness survival-esque scenarios in my F2F games. Not that I'm doubting the groups' ability to make it fun, I'm just not as found of the type of scenario as I thought I was. To be clear, I love the Mwangi Expanse, but scenarios like Champion's Chalice, Part 1: Blazing Dangerous Trails was not fun for me.
Plane-hopping sounds fun, as does something relating to Dwarves, but no bias there, eh? ;)

And, uh, to be honest, none of you guys seem to be super-suited to the outdoors anyway based on your skill sets.
I played it at a convention a couple of years ago and the party consisted of a rogue, an alchemist, a CAVALIER, and my undine oracle.
Yeah.
Second part was more fun, though.

Happy Halloween! The temperature tanked here today; it was mid 60s when I got home from work this morning and now it's mid 30s and spitting precipitation.

Oh and as of 2:30 this afternoon we officially own our own (and first) home. Can't move in just yet as the sellers requested another two weeks to get moved out but still - we own a home :D
Posting this in all of my campaigns. I'm sorry for my absence the past few days, but I've had some personal things come up that have kept me from posting. Related to those things, I will be taking a break from PbP, likely until next Monday (11 Nov). While I hope you will bot the character I have in our game and allow me to continue when I return, I completely understand if you would rather have me dropped from the game.
No worries Gummy and thanks for letting us know. Take care of RL and come back when you feel up to it, okay?
Since I don't want to get too far into our next scenario without Gummy, I'll push back our start date a little further - say to maybe Friday or so. That should give everyone who still needs to level up and such plenty of time to do so before we get started again.
(And it also works out okay for me anyway since I've got 3 off, 1 on, 3 off for work next week and plan to try and get a lot of packing done during those stretches of off days.)
