So, if it would help to have Effie up to level 3 after Unseen Inclusion, I could GM something now and probably finish about the same time, and apply the GM xp to Effie - I am contemplating recruiting for Wrath of the Fleshwarped Queen.

In other news, I apologize for the silence/delayed start on our next scenario; life has been a little busy this past week between getting stuff packed, work, taking care of Gameday stuff, and trying to finish up a couple of other GM games. I know Rumble indicated they had some stuff going on but I'll go ahead and do a roll-call - is everyone else here and ready to go or do we need to extend our break a little longer? I can personally work with either option.

IRL is in trouble here too.

I can start when you wish, but I might have a few days off later, don't know when.

We all made it to level 3 just now, right (barring Effie)? I'll have to go back through my notes tomorrow to verify, but I could have sworn we had one more scenario before then (not complaining, just clarifying!).

I believe only me and Zith are lvl 3. After this next session most should be three then.

I'm 7.5 xp due to GM credits.

Yeah, half the group is now 3rd level and I expect that Hepsubia & Rumble will be 3rd after our next scenario? Which, you guys are still pretty close together in levels so I'm not too worried about it.

@Hepsubia - Thank you! I actually swiped the 'sealed envelope' slide cover from another GM (with their permission) because I really liked the look it gives to the slide deck.

As far as little touches and details go, thank you, I try my best. Sometimes I forget things, other times I think of something that would've been neat to add too late, and still other times I'm more inspired by certain scenarios than others. But I'm glad they're appreciated :)

@Everyone - If you haven't already, please update Slide #2 with your information if anything has changed such as Perception & Initiative modifiers. Additionally, please place your tokens in your preferred marching order on Slide #3. The slides *should* be editable this time but of course let me know if you have any trouble.

Sorry for the sluggish posting; moving, work, and winter malaise got me busy and feeling a little down. At least the moving part should be largely done after Saturday so hopefully service will improve starting next week.

Okay, I finally have some updates for you guys! Being that it's a holiday for most of us there's obviously no rush for you guys to post, but I did want to kick the tires a bit while I had the time.

As always, thank you for your patience and understanding. In retrospect I should have just put us on official hiatus until we got settled in to our new home, but hindsight is 20/20 and such.

Zith, I was taking the +1 bonus to Religion from the Trickster Seance skill thing in your profile (+1 and it becomes a class skill). Is that no longer a thing you do or maybe something you need to roll for everyday?

Rumbles musings on his ability to fly is amusing, but looking at our party again, we don't have a full arcane caster. While they are certainly not a requirement to be successful, are there any things our party simply can't do without one? Figure that might inform consumable purchases in the future!

We do have access to some serious magic though, especially after a few more levels. We've got a cleric and warpriest, a medium, and a bard! To me, this looks like a lot of buffs, fix-its, and some utility. I'm excited to see what we can pull off without a wizard/sorcerer/arcanist among us!

The seance bonus only applies when I'm actively channeling a specific spirit (e.g. Trickster). This is different than the normal medium and there is debate in the community about whether you do get a seance bonus for 24 hours because the archetype could technically be read that way, but at the beginning I told Ladile that I was going to use the more conservative interpretation of "only when channeling."

I plan on making Effie more of a martial character than a caster, Rumble. But her CHA will be high enough that a few attack spells might stick. I'm a big fan of Suggestion, which bards get early access to. And Heroism is another favourite for all-round utility.

Ah, I think I had something like that written down somewhere Zithembe, but it may have gotten lost during a profile transition. So, +1 and CS to the chosen skill, but only while you channel your spirit. Makes even more sense now for me to shift that over to escape artist during the next seance.

The insightful feat would be ideal to set up daily for a knowledge skill for Maria, even if not guaranteed to be a success and religion works well. Now we just need to remember to roll for it each morning. :D

i didnt had time to update my equipment earlier, would it be too late to buy a mithral chain shirt? (1100 gp) and sell my old leather armor for 5 gp?

@Hepsubia - Yes, you had time after the mission briefing to do your wheeling and dealing.

I'm going to try something a little different with the turn order this time and invoke some degree of actual order by not calling for Zithembe & Maria to act again until everyone else has acted at the bottom of Round 1. While I know it potentially slows the action down somewhat it might make it less likely for me to need to retcon stuff if, for example, Zithembe posts first but Parison posts later and does something that might've affected how Zithembe played out his turn.

Probably not as big of a deal at low levels but potentially more of a deal as the group levels up and combat gets more complex.

I do a similar thing when I GM pbp, Lady L. I will let all players post, but I say that I will resolve all actions from one round before I resolve any actions from the next round.

It's a good call, lets more things resolve and buffs get applied before the next round gets started. I'm on board for the adjustment.

I don't believe so. Only you and Maria acted before Red & Blue and you were the only one to initially move into the room so it moved to attack you on its turn.

Hmmm... I do believe that ACP from Armor or Weight would effect Initiative, correct? If so, I have not been factoring that in on any of my characters. It won't matter now for Maria if Rumble continues to carry her pack, but for a couple other PC's it will.

She does have the goal of a handy haversack eventually, so that'll resolve the weight issue and allow a lot more beneficial items to be purchased. But for now, thanks for the offer Rumble!

To my knowledge having an ACP or being encumbered doesn't affect your initiative modifier (or Reflex saves). ACP affects Dex & Str-based skills and if you're really encumbered it does slow down how fast you can move if you're trying to actually run.

Effie's also a low strength character. She'll buy an Endless Bandolier and a Handy Haversack, both fairly early.

Ah, I see my confusion. I thought it was dexterity/strength checks AND skills, I see it is just dexterity/strength skills. Thanks for the quick reply, stopped me from making any changes to other PC’s.

Yes, this seems to be a point of contention among some posters. Unless I'm missing a much more recent ruling I base my own ruling - that constructs don't radiate magic - based on this post from James Jacobs.

Hey folks! With Christmas almost here I'm sure all or most of us will be pretty busy this coming week. While I'm not going to put us on official pause, please do not stress about posting this week. I'll be around (since I somehow got stuck working nights for both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day) and will update/respond to posts as needed but in general I'm not going to stress too much about games this week myself. We'll return to a more 'normal' posting rate the week after Christmas :)

In other news, if you haven't heard about our newest upcoming con - PlayDis Con 2020 - then you should check out the announcement for it here! It'll be run entirely on the Discord chat client but otherwise the games will function much as PbP games do. I won't be GMing any games for this one but I will probably sign up to play at least one, as the PbDiscord format is one that I've not tried before.

(That said, I know that chat clients are non-starters for some folks for various reasons so if that doesn't sound like your jam we will also be doing OutPost this upcoming year as well, a bit later on.)
