Belated Merry Christmas! :)Happy Boxing Day!
FTFY ;)
GM Ladile |
Just checking in; we're still on holiday posting rates until tomorrow-ish so I'll see where we're at tomorrow evening or Tuesday morning and nudge things along if need be :)
Maria Kuerlara |
Here and checking about once a day to see if I'm needed to post.
I believe Zithembe speaks the language in the spoiler and is just generally our resident comprehend language expert so I'll let that drift into their purview.
Maria is ready to move along to the next area beyond any of that.

On a personal note, I have had a pretty good Holiday break. I hope the same has been for all of you. Happy almost 2020!
GM Ladile |
It's New Year's Eve (well, the morning of)! 2019 has been a very good year and I hope it's been equally as good to all of you.
Do I have any resolutions?
Well... ;)
May we all get even cooler in 2020 :)

Happy new year to all
My resolutions for 2020:

Find joy, love, friendship and happiness in life. Or at least on these forums. *Waves at Lady L*
Write more. Try to do some sport. Meet people. Relax. Have sex. Have an healthy life. Read even more. Learn to communicate, to trust and be trustable.
But right now, my resolution will be going to the loo. ^^

That may be the best resolution/set of resolutions I've read, right down to the loo visit.

In other, 'State of Things' news, my Shore to Sea group finished their final battle and so are essentially done with the module besides some wrap-up RP and me getting them their chronicles.
This'll put me back at two tables GMed which is where I believe I'll keep it for a while. There's still some house stuff to do now that the holidays are over, like painting. I'm starting to miss some of the other things I used to do before I got so invested in PbP. Pretty sure I'm starting to suffer from SAD during the fall and winter months now, which does my creative energy no favors. And the fewer games I have, the better my posts for the games that remain can be. So it seems prudent to set some limits on myself (with a little outside help since previous experience has proven that I'm not always the best judge of what I can and can't reasonably handle) and only add new games when the situation seems right or once current games finish up.
TL;DR - For a number of reasons I'm renewing my commitment to keeping my game load lighter so I can be a better player, a better GM, and enjoy myself more.
Effie Gee |
Two tables seems to be my GM limit too, especially whilst I am playing PCs on other tables.
Rumble Craterkin |
Haha I'm good with just one! I did two once and it was doable but way more stressful! Props to y'all!
GM Ladile |
For your plan to tackle the columns (the current room you're in with the bones and whispers is a dead end) just let me know if you're wanting to execute any specific plan; I'll give you folks a little time for input and then I'll move things forward later this evening/tonight.
GM Ladile |
Hey folks, had some illness stuff pop up yesterday/tonight. Things are fine but if my posting is spotty for the next day or so that'll be why.
GM Ladile |
Hokay, things are more or less back to normal (besides just being generally busy at work) so update incoming :)
Zithembe of the Six Paths |
My apologies. I had an unexpected trip to the hospital.
Effie Gee |
I hope you and yours are ok Zith.
GM Ladile |
Yikes, hang in there Zith!
______________
Hey guys, work's been whooping my butt the last night or two so I'll update either later tonight or tomorrow night. Apologies.
Zithembe of the Six Paths |
Thanks guys :)
Rumble Craterkin |
Hope it's working out for the both of you!
Effie Gee |
This scenario makes a lot more sense second time around, especially after having played a certain high-tier season 9 scenario. Of course it also helps that you get a lot more time to digest info in pbp.

Let me guess, is it...
Salvation of the Sages?
GM Ladile |
So, it looks like Outpost III will officially be Outpost III: Puttin' on the Ritz! If you've got characters that enjoy parties and social gatherings you'll definitely wanna check it out once we get all the scenarios finalized and make the formal announcement :D
Effie Gee |
I am traveling today and Wednesday, but should be able to post on Tuesday. Please bot if necessary.
Zithembe of the Six Paths |
I'd like to try something later on in this encounter.
In order to attempt it, the GM needs to know whether Mauta's madness is the result of an affliction or ability damage. This may be unexplained in the module. If so, you'll need to make a judgement call.
I may also want to try something else that will end up being rules-adjacent because this isn't a defined situation for its use. That is using the occult skill unlock, hypnotism, to try to get Mauta to recall something rather than granting her a re-roll on a knowledge check. Just a head's up.
GM Ladile |
^Noted. Since I'm working tonight it may be a while yet before I can really catch up with Gameplay proper so thanks for the advance warning!
Zithembe of the Six Paths |
I don't want to poach anyone or push them over their attention span, but since I have a captive audience of people who 1) I enjoy playing with and 2) have demonstrated the ability to be consistent, I thought I'd ask...
Is anyone interested in a full play through of a PF2 AP, either Age of Ashes or the Extinction Curse (to receive PFS2 credit once sanctioning is released)? Likely to start this summer if I can recruit a table.
Maria Kuerlara |
I am interested, but a lot will depend on what is going on when you start recruitment.
Rumble Craterkin |
I'd be interested.
I'm in a Strange Aeons PF2 game (GM is doing their best to adapt it), and, frankly, I am making a lot of mistakes. If you are cool with that (and I would totally understand if not and not bear any hard feelings), I'd be willing to join in. That said, if you have others who are really eager to get in on some PF2, I would be willing to bow out so others can experience the format too.
Effie Gee |
I'm not planning to dip my toe into 2e yet, but thanks for the invite Zith.
GM Ladile |

^This. I've had to very recently turn down an offer or two for games since they were basically starting immediately/ASAP but a summer start is much more feasible for me and allows some time to plan/decline other potential game engagements accordingly.
As far as experience most of my PF2 play has actually happened at F2F tables but I have played Absalom Initiation via PbP and am currently playing at a Plaguestone table with some fellow forum friends (and enjoying myself).
So for what it's worth, mark me as tentatively interested.
______________
Also I'm about to head to work but I'll try and get an update here sometime tonight or tomorrow morning before bed.
GM Ladile |
Oh! I can't speak for other GMs but I stake no particular claims on any of my current or past players so if you've encountered someone in one of my games and you like the cut of their jib...by all means, invite them to one of your games! Networking awesome players with each other makes me happy :)

As long as you actually want to learn the rules for PF2 along the way, that would be fine. Everyone is making plenty of mistakes with the rules right now everywhere anyhow. I also do Session 0 for character building that takes as long as it takes. I'll circle back when I'm closer to ready to recruit. :)
Effie Gee |
I've completed my GM run of Wrath of the Fleshwarped Queen, so Effie will be caught up with the rest of the group xp-wise after the current scenario, assuming we survive ;)
GM Ladile |
^Awesome! And I dunno, so far you guys have generally been killing it (hee) when it comes to combat. I suppose it's possible there'll come a time later on where you'll find that it'd be nice to have more arcane capability but I don't anticipate it'd be anything you guys can't work around with your own abilities and some clever thinking :)
Anyhoo, update soon - spent most of Tuesday & yesterday painting and catching up on sleep.

After Parison's wonderful post, I now wish to create a character along our alchemist's path. One level alchemist and then conversion to cleric of Sarenrae. I won't make it, but I want to...

Sorry for the short notice, but I had to handle some stuff all evening (everything is fine now!) and don't have the time/energy to post tonight. I'll catch back up tomorrow, please bot me as necessary!

Do eeeet.
I'm sure it could be workable in PF1 *or* you could make a PF2 character that starts as an alchemist and then take the cleric dedication (PF2's version of multiclassing) stuff when it becomes available!

And to think this conversation wouldn't have happened if I hadn't set a DC 18 for myself on Sense Motive for Parison to pick up on Rumble's feelings toward Sokari. Glad to help!

Took me a little while to get back on this. I'm kind of in the middle right now. Besides this group, I'm playing in a D&D 5E Hoard of the Dragon Queen campaign and I'll be jumping right into a Curse of the Crimson Throne AP campaign once Lady Ladile and I finish up playing Gallows of Madness under the same GM that will be running the AP. With those three things and trying to cherry pick a scenario or two when PbP has their Gameday and Outpost offerings each year, I feel like I'm at a good balance for PbP games I'm in.
With that being said, I'm a little curious if not nervous about how 2E is formatted here on PbP in terms of character profiles and how well the mechanics of 2E will translate to PbP, especially when it comes to reactions a character can do in the course of a combat encounter. I already get the feeling that the encounters have to be a lot more rigid in their execution from both the GM and the players.
Another thing I will admit up front is that I've been a subscriber to the AP line since Wrath of the Righteous and I've read through every book of every AP back to back of Wrath of the Righteous and Mummy's Mask (having run table top campaigns and actually completing the later for those two APs and I've read all the books in the APs from Strange Aeons to Age of Ashes and I just got the first book in the Extinction Curse AP. I still don't mind playing, but I'd have to let other players drive the story plot.
Still, let me know if you think you're going to fully commit to doing this and I can give you a definite 'yes' or 'no'. Regardless, it's good to see you stepping up to do this and I commend you for it.
Maria Kuerlara |
I do have a lvl 1 alchemist in PFS2. While he is on quite a different path due to a very different backstory, I will at least investigate the cleric dedication towards Sarenrae as a possible option for him. It would be interesting to see if it could work mechanically so that I could look for an opportunity in a game to fit it in.
GM Ladile |
Maria does not brandish any specific holy symbol, though she does make a note in her journal to purchase one for every major religion... just in case.
Yes! I had a feeling that's what that link would be and I was not disappointed :3
______________I'm off today but I'll be out and about for much of it; I'll try and get another update (as necessary) later tonight or very early tomorrow morning.

This is a bit hilarious. I love that this group is constantly finding things to disagree about in the game scenarios (that probably aren't covered at all as a point of consideration by the scenario) and we just use it to expand our RP wonderfully.
